The second showroom is where fragrance stops being a decision and becomes a standard, whether or not you write it down. Two branches with two scents are two shops that happen to share a name. Yes, every branch should smell the same - and the only way that survives the second manager is one scent, one page, and placement worked out on each floor.
Quick answers — read this first
We have multiple appliance showrooms - should every branch smell the same? Yes. A visitor who has been to one of your showrooms should recognise the next one with their nose before they read the sign, in the same way the lighting and the music recognise each other across branches. That means one scent in one register - the dry, home-like family this cluster is built on - at one level, at every branch. What changes between branches is not the scent but the placement: which wall, where the AC supply crosses, where the live kitchen is, how big the volume of air is.
What has to be written down for that to survive? One page. The register and the product; the level test - noticed at the first display, forgotten by the specification table, set for the advisor who stands there all day; the placement rules - inward from the door, on the wall the supply crosses, away from the return, on the reception side of any demo zone; the off-switch rule for demonstrations; and who holds the key at each branch. Without the page, the second branch drifts within a quarter and the third opens with something else.
What is the honest recommendation? One SOSA Vaayu (Rs 11,999) per connected volume of air at each branch - waterless, timer, key-locked to the standard's level, 90+ days a fill - and a Mountain Breeze reed (Rs 849) at every reception desk in the same register. A branch that is one connected floor past about 3,000 sq ft gets one SOSA Angaan (Rs 25,999) instead. Fragrance is an interiors decision like lighting or music; SOSA makes no claim that consistency across branches changes dwell time, footfall, conversion or sales, and no claim about what it does to any appliance or finish.
The short answer
Short answer: yes - one scent, one written standard, and placement decided on each floor. The register, the product and the level test travel between branches unchanged; the wall, the AC path and the demo-kitchen edge are worked out site by site.
The pick: one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) per connected volume of air at every branch, locked to the standard; one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) where a branch is a single floor past about 3,000 sq ft; a Mountain Breeze reed (₹849) at each reception desk in the same register.
Next step: send the floor plans for every branch with the live kitchens and AC returns marked and we will draft the one-page standard and place a machine per volume - ask for a showroom scenting plan.
We have multiple appliance showrooms - should every branch smell the same?
Yes, and the reason is the same reason your branches share a lighting scheme and a music level rather than each manager choosing their own. A showroom designed as a home has a character, and a visitor who has spent an hour specifying a kitchen in one branch should walk into the next and recognise it - not name the scent, never that, but feel the same beautifully kept home around them. Two scents across two branches do not read as variety; they read as two shops. So the answer to the question in the title is short. The longer answer is about what "the same" actually means, because owners tend to assume it means the same machine in the same corner, and it does not. Three things travel between branches unchanged. The register: one dry, home-like family - cedar, sage, a little tea, light woods, or a clean lemon-and-mint where a branch is white, glass and handleless - and nothing sweet, nothing edible, because a kitchen-appliance floor has a hob and a coffee counter that own those smells. The product: the same fragrance in every machine, so the scent is literally identical and not a cousin. And the level test, which is the part most chains get wrong: not a dial number, because the same setting reads differently in a 1,800 sq ft branch of walnut and stone and a 2,600 sq ft branch of white lacquer and glass, but a test - noticed at the first display, forgotten by the specification table, un-nameable at the desk, set for the advisor who stands on that floor nine hours a day, judged at five in the afternoon. Each branch runs the test and locks the result. One thing never travels: placement. Every floor has its own door, its own AC supply and return, its own partitions, its own live kitchen. At each branch the source goes inward from the threshold, high on the wall the supply crosses, away from the return, on the reception side of any demo zone, and the demo zone itself - the live kitchen, the hob demonstration, the coffee counter - stays unscented while the demonstration runs, with the machine off on the timer and extraction clearing afterwards. That is worked out on each plan, and a chain that copies branch one's wall into branch two gets a floor that smells only at reception. Then the machine, and here the rule is volumes, not branches. One machine per connected volume of air. A branch of one connected floor between about 1,500 and 3,000 sq ft gets one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 - waterless, 1000m³, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity under a key-lock, under 38dB, wall or HVAC mount, 90+ days a fill. A branch with two floors is two volumes and two Vaayus, each running the level test on its own floor. A branch that is one connected floor past about 3,000 sq ft gets one SOSA Angaan at ₹25,999, never two Vaayus in one air. A small studio branch under about 750 sq ft gets a Mountain Breeze reed at ₹849 at the desk - the same register, no machine - and every branch, whatever its size, has that reed at reception so the desk and the floor agree. The key-lock is what makes any of this a standard rather than a hope: on a shop floor levels drift only upward, and with six branch managers the drift is six different directions within a quarter. The lock holds the result of the level test until the keyholder changes it, and the standard names the keyholder. Write it on one page - how to standardise fragrance across a multi-city chain is the page itself - because an unwritten standard is the first manager's memory, and they will leave. And the footing. Fragrance is an interiors decision, like lighting or music: SOSA makes no claim that a consistent scent across branches changes footfall, dwell time, conversion or sales, and no claim about what it does to any appliance or finish on any floor. It is never a substitute for ventilation, cleaning or extraction, which each branch owns for itself. Ask for a showroom scenting plan and send every branch's plan at once; we will place one machine per volume on each.
Yes - one scent, one written standard, placement decided per floor. Register, product and the level test travel between branches; the wall, the AC path and the demo-kitchen edge do not. One Vaayu (Rs 11,999) per connected volume at each branch, key-locked; an Angaan past 3,000 sq ft; a Mountain Breeze reed at every desk.
One SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 per connected volume of air at each branch - the same fragrance, 1000m³, timer, key-locked to the standard, 90+ days a fill.
The standard is one scent; the delivery is decided by each branch's volume of air. The two cards are the two machines most chains end up with across their branches, and the images link to the product pages.
Most branches - one connected floor of about 1,500-3,000 sq ft
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, Rs 11,999, one per connected volume of air. The same fragrance in every unit; adjustable intensity locked at the result of each branch's level test; 1h/4h/8h/24h timers so it stops for that branch's demonstrations; under 38dB; wall or HVAC mount so the source sits on the wall each floor needs. 400ml, 90+ days a fill.
HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, about 8,000-10,000 sq ft, Rs 25,999. The same fragrance as the Vaayu branches, on a machine sized to a bigger volume: 800ml reservoir, programmable schedules, under 42dB, HVAC-connected or standalone wall-mount. One Angaan rather than two Vaayus in one air, and the same level test run on its own floor.
1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft) on one unit, Rs 11,999. Adjustable intensity under a key-lock, 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill, Bluetooth app and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, under 38dB, DC 12V/1A 5W. Freestanding or wall and HVAC mount. CE, RoHS, SGS certified. Made in India.
The five things that travel between branches, and the one that never does
A branch standard is a short list of what is fixed and a shorter list of what is not. These five cards are the fixed list; the fifth is the exception, and it is the one chains most often get backwards.
1
The register
One family at every branch - and one hard exclusion
The first fixed thing is the family of scent, and for an appliance chain it is narrower than for most retail. The showroom is a home, so the register is what a beautifully kept home smells of: dry cedar, sage, a little tea, light woods, a clean mineral note - Mountain Breeze in the SOSA range - or a clean lemon-and-mint, Morning Freshness, where a branch is white, matte and glass-fronted. A chain with both kinds of branch has a decision to make, and the honest one is a single family for the chain with the cooler variant reserved for the white branches, both in the same dry, unsweet, un-edible key. The exclusion is fixed harder than anything else: nothing sweet, nothing powdery, nothing edible, at any branch, because every branch has a hob and most have a coffee counter. How to choose a signature scent for a premium appliance brand is the five-step method that chooses the family once.
Rule: if two branches would need two families, the chain has not chosen yet. Choose once, at the branch with the hardest surfaces.
2
The product
The same fragrance in every machine, so the scent is identical and not a cousin
The second fixed thing sounds obvious and is the one most often broken by procurement. The scent at every branch has to be the same product, not a similar one from a different supplier because the second branch opened in a different city. Two cedar accords from two houses are two scents, and a visitor's nose knows it before their head does. So the standard names the product, every branch's machine is filled from the same supply, and the four 100ml bottles in each Vaayu box are that supply for each branch - with refill availability confirmed with SOSA before the chain plans beyond them. The same holds for the desk: the reed at every reception is the same bottle, not a local substitute. Consistency of scent is consistency of product first, and everything else on this page is built on it.
Every branch runs the same fragrance in the same Vaayu - one per connected volume, key-locked to the standard.
The third fixed thing is the one chains write down wrongly. They write a setting - "intensity four" - and send it to every branch, and then the walnut-and-stone branch is faint and the white-lacquer-and-glass branch is loud, because hard surfaces amplify and the two floors amplify differently, and the branch with the double-height atrium is fainter than either because it holds more air. What travels is the test, not the number: noticed at the first display, forgotten by the specification table, un-nameable at the desk, and set for the advisor who stands on that floor nine hours a day rather than the visitor who is there for forty minutes. Each branch runs the test at five in the afternoon with its own floor team and locks its own result. How strong fragrance should be inside an experience centre is the test in full, and it is the same page for every branch.
Rule: the standard says how to find the level and who signs it off. It never says the number.
4
The off-switch and the keyholder
Who stops it for the demo, and who holds the key, named per branch
The fourth fixed thing is a pair of names. Every branch with a live kitchen, an oven or hob demonstration or a coffee-tasting counter obeys the cluster's rule: the demonstration owns the air while it runs, the demo zone stays unscented, the machine is off on the timer for the demo and the clearing time after, and extraction rather than fragrance clears the room - scent returns when the room smells of nothing. The standard says so once, and each branch sets its own timer to its own demo schedule. And every branch names one keyholder for the Vaayu's lock, because on a shop floor levels drift only upward and a chain with six managers drifts in six directions. The lock is the enforcement; the name on the page is the accountability. Whether to switch off during an oven or hob demonstration is the rule each branch applies to its own kitchen.
Rule: the demo kitchen and the coffee counter stay unscented at every branch. The timer schedule is the only thing about that rule that is local.
5
Placement
The one thing that never travels - every floor is placed from its own plan
Here is the exception, and the one chains get backwards by putting the machine in the same corner at every branch. Placement is entirely local. Each floor has its own street or mall door, which exchanges threshold air many times an hour and has no fragrance solution; the source goes inward. Each floor has its own AC supply and return; the source sits high on the wall the supply crosses and away from the return, or on an HVAC mount on a duct that serves the sales floor alone, confirmed by whoever maintains that branch's plant. Each floor has its own partitions, display kitchens and running demo appliances - a chimney or display AC on demo strips scent from its zone, and that is correct. And each floor has its own live kitchen, whose edge is treated as a wall. So the standard says the rules, and every branch is placed from its own plan. How to create even fragrance across multiple display zones is the placement method, applied once per floor.
The Angaan is the branch machine for a single connected floor past ~3,000 sq ft - the same scent, on the plant.
Every branch should smell the same, and the only version of that which survives the second manager is one scent, one written page, and placement decided freshly on every floor.
Register, product, level test, off-switch, keyholder - fixed. The wall, the AC path, the demo edge - local. One machine per volume, key-locked.
One per branch volume, locked to the standard: SOSA Vaayu, ₹11,999, waterless, 1000m³, timer and key-lock, 90+ days a fill.
Branch by branch: what is fixed and what is placed
The same standard laid over the branches most appliance chains actually have. Read down the right-hand column and notice how little of it is the scent; most of it is placement and the size of the air.
The SOSA branch plan
One standard, applied to four kinds of branch
The branch
What is fixed, and what is placed on the floor
A city-centre branch, one floor, about 2,000 sq ft, live kitchen at the back
Fixed: the scent, the level test, the demo rule. Placed: one Vaayu high on the reception-side wall the supply crosses, inward from the door, timer off for the demo. View →
A two-floor branch, kitchens below, electronics above
Fixed: the same scent on both floors. Placed: two volumes, two Vaayus, each floor running its own level test and locking its own result - the home-theatre demo room upstairs left neutral. View →
A flagship experience centre, one connected floor past ~3,000 sq ft
Fixed: the same scent. Placed: one Angaan on the plant or wall-mounted, never two Vaayus in one air; the coffee counter and live kitchen excluded by placement and timer. View →
A small studio branch under ~750 sq ft, one desk, two display kitchens
Fixed: the same register. Placed: a Mountain Breeze reed at the desk and no machine - a Vaayu in that room is more source than the air can use. View →
Every branch's reception desk
The same reed in the same register, so the desk and the floor agree - and the closest presence a visitor meets is identical from branch to branch.
The same register at every desk: one Mountain Breeze reed at each reception, ₹849 for 50ml, 6-8 weeks - the closest presence a visitor meets, identical at every branch.
SOSA Vaayu ₹11,999 per connected volume at each branch, key-locked to one written standard; SOSA Angaan ₹25,999 for the flagship floor. Send every branch's plan and we will place them all.
Write the scent once and the placement never. The branch that copies another branch's wall ends up smelling only at reception, and the branch that copies another branch's dial ends up too loud or too faint.

The branch ladder
One scent, sized to the volume of air at each address
One register, delivered at each branch by the size of its air. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The SOSA multi-branch specification
The same scent at every branch - a machine per volume, a reed at every desk
One machine per connected volume of air at each branch; a two-floor branch is two volumes. The four 100ml bottles in each Vaayu box are that branch's supply; confirm refill availability with SOSA before the chain plans beyond them. Fragrance is an interiors decision like lighting or music: SOSA makes no claim that consistency across branches changes footfall, dwell time, conversion or sales, and no claim about what it does to any appliance or finish. It works alongside ventilation, cleaning and extraction, never instead of them, and the live kitchen and coffee counter stay unscented at every branch. Ask for a showroom scenting plan and send every branch's plan at once.

A note from Sonal
The chains that ask me this question have usually already answered it by accident. Branch one chose a scent two years ago; branch two opened with whatever the new manager liked; branch three inherited a machine from a supplier who has since stopped answering the phone. Nobody decided that the three should smell different, and yet they do, and the owner notices it on the day they walk all three in a week. The fix is not a bigger machine. It is a page.
The page says the register, the product, and how to find the level - never the number, because your walnut branch and your white-lacquer branch will never agree on a number and should not have to. It says the demo rule once: the live kitchen and the coffee counter stay unscented while the demonstration runs, at every branch, with the timer doing the remembering. It names a keyholder per branch, because the lock on the Vaayu is the only part of a standard that enforces itself, and it says that placement is decided on each floor from each plan. Then every branch gets one machine per volume of air: a Vaayu for most, an Angaan for the flagship, a reed and nothing else for the studio.
What the page does not say is anything about numbers. Fragrance is an interiors decision like lighting or music: no claim that a consistent scent changes footfall, dwell time or sales at any branch, no claim about what it does to any appliance or finish, never a substitute for ventilation, cleaning or extraction, which each branch owns for itself. A visitor who recognises your second showroom with their nose is the entire ambition, and it is enough. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
Should two branches of the same appliance showroom chain use the same fragrance?
Yes - the same product, not a similar one. A visitor who has been to one branch should recognise the next with their nose before they read the sign, the way the lighting and music are recognisable across branches. Two cedar accords from two suppliers are two scents, so the standard names the product and every branch's machine is filled from the same supply. What differs between branches is placement and the size of the air, never the scent.
Can we send the same intensity setting to every branch of our showroom chain?
No, and this is the mistake most chains make. The same dial number reads faint on a walnut-and-stone floor and loud on a white-lacquer-and-glass floor, because hard surfaces amplify differently, and fainter again under a double-height ceiling. What travels between branches is the level test: noticed at the first display, forgotten by the specification table, set for the advisor who stands there all day, judged at five in the afternoon. Each branch runs the test and locks its own result.
Does every branch of a chain need its own scent machine?
Every connected volume of air needs one, which is not quite the same thing. A branch of one floor between about 1,500 and 3,000 sq ft gets one SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999; a two-floor branch is two volumes and two Vaayus; a single-floor flagship past about 3,000 sq ft gets one SOSA Angaan at Rs 25,999 rather than two Vaayus in one air; a studio branch under about 750 sq ft gets a Mountain Breeze reed at the desk and no machine at all. Every branch, whatever its size, has the same reed at reception.
Should the scent machine be placed in the same position at every branch?
No. Placement is the one part of a branch standard that never travels. Each floor has its own door, which exchanges threshold air and has no fragrance solution, so the source goes inward; its own AC supply and return, so the source sits high on the wall the supply crosses and away from the return; its own partitions and demo appliances; and its own live kitchen, whose edge is treated as a wall. The standard states those rules once, and every branch is placed from its own plan.
Who should hold the key to the scent machine at each showroom branch?
One named person per branch, written on the standard. On a shop floor fragrance levels drift only upward - someone turns it up on a morning when the floor smells of nothing and nobody turns it down - and across six branches the drift goes in six directions within a quarter. The SOSA Vaayu's key-lock holds the result of each branch's level test until the keyholder changes it, which is what makes a written standard enforceable rather than hopeful. The name on the page is the accountability.

About this guide: Written by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained founder and perfumer at SOSA Home & Body. Product recommendations reflect the SOSA range; the planning advice applies to any brand.
Facts verified 7 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days a fill depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and onboard button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, operation under 38dB, DC 12V/1A at 5W (roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten-hour daily schedule), freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification - electrical and compliance marks. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or displays; the four 100ml bottles in the box are the supply, and refill availability should be confirmed with SOSA. The SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) is an HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules and operation under 42dB; the SOSA Meenar (₹38,500) is the HVAC machine for 12,000-18,000 sq ft. The SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) is a 500ml water-based ultrasonic diffuser for a single room of roughly 270-320 sq ft. SOSA reed diffusers - Mountain Breeze (₹849 / ₹1,349) and Morning Freshness (₹749 / ₹1,249), or the two together as the Fresh & Grounded duo (₹1,548 / ₹2,548) - are alcohol-free and phthalate-free, with a 50ml bottle lasting 6-8 weeks and a 130ml bottle 14-18 weeks. Ambient fragrance in a showroom is an interior and hospitality decision: SOSA makes no claim that it changes dwell time, footfall, conversion, basket size, sales or any other business number, no claim about what it does to any appliance, surface or finish on display, and it is never a substitute for ventilation, cleaning or extraction. Warranty, installation, service and bulk terms are confirmed with SOSA directly. The hotel-inspired scents are SOSA's own original interpretations; SOSA is an independent brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel or appliance brand named for reference. Coverage, fragrance usage and running cost depend on the space, settings and hours of use, and are confirmed on a consultation. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
