What if the honest answer is that I should spend less? Then that is what you are told. Plenty of these conversations end with a ₹449 car fragrance rather than a ₹3,999 Safar, or with the recommendation that the gift should go to his car rather than to him. A recommendation that only ever points upward is not a recommendation.
Can SOSA compose a fragrance specifically for my father? Bespoke composition by Sonal is a real SOSA service, and like bulk orders and custom label or logo on product, it is discussed on WhatsApp rather than priced on a page. Ask there and you will be told what is possible.
What to send SOSA, and what comes back
This is a short exchange, not a form. It works because five specific facts about a man's week eliminate most of a fragrance range in about one minute, and because the person answering is allowed to tell you to spend less.
Four: whether his home is already scented - an agarbatti every evening, a plug-in somebody else bought, a house that smells of cooking and nothing else. This decides whether a reed diffuser is adding something or competing with something. Five: what you want to spend, as a real number rather than a polite range. That last one is not used to push you upward; it is used to stop a recommendation arriving that you were never going to buy.
The answers that matter most are the ones that point down or sideways. Down looks like this: you asked about a ₹3,000 gift and he drives twice a week, so the recommendation is a ₹449 hanging bottle and the rest stays in your account. Sideways looks like this: you asked about an attar and he has never worn a fragrance in his life, so the recommendation is his car or his study instead. A recommendation that always lands on the expensive end is a sales script, and this page is not describing one.
On branding, be clear about what exists. SOSA offers custom label or logo on the product itself. That is the whole list. There is no wrapping service, no assembled gift basket and no printed card enclosed with an order, so if you have seen those described somewhere, they are not SOSA's. Knowing that in advance is more useful than discovering it later, and it is why several pages here end by telling you to send the message yourself.
- Name what he already wears, or say plainly that he wears nothing.
- Give his weekly driving in hours, and say if he travels for work.
- Say whether the house is already scented by somebody else daily.
- Give a real budget number, then send it to +91 96192 18531.
The range a recommendation is drawn from
A recommendation is drawn from a range that is easy to describe. Attars are alcohol-free roll-on oil in 3ml, 6ml and 12ml - Adaa ₹379, Ameeri ₹385, Mastani ₹389 and Nawaab ₹399, with the Attar Trio at ₹1,055. Perfumes are alcohol-free too, ₹599 for 10ml and ₹1,799 or ₹1,899 for 50ml; they are SOSA's own compositions and are not the designer fragrances they are described as being inspired by. Car fragrance runs ₹449 to ₹549 in nine scents, each as a mild hanging format or a stronger spray at the same price. Reed diffusers are ₹749 to ₹849 in 50ml and last about 6 to 10 weeks. SOSA Safar is ₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired trios, and SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand.
| The option | Who it suits, and where it fails |
|---|---|
| A straight yes · you already had it right | You described him accurately, the product you were considering fits, and the only adjustment is the size - usually downward, because a 3ml attar at ₹379 is a better first bottle than a 12ml at ₹1,149. This is the commonest outcome when you can already name what he wears. |
| Spend less · ₹449 instead of ₹3,999 | You had a number in mind and his week does not justify it. A father who drives twice a week does not need a ₹3,999 travel diffuser, and saying so is the point of asking. The failure mode here is your own - if you have already decided the gift has to be expensive, do not send the message. |
| A different category · the car, not the man | You asked about something worn and he has never worn a fragrance, or you asked about a home diffuser and the house is already scented every evening. The recommendation moves rather than shrinks - most often to car fragrance from ₹449, which is the gap in most fathers' lives. |
| Something arranged rather than bought · bespoke, bulk, branding | Bespoke composition by Sonal, a bulk order for a company or a family event, or custom label or logo on the product. All three are handled in the conversation rather than on a product page. There is no wrapping, gift-basket or printed-card service to ask for, because SOSA does not offer one. |
One honest caveat about when not to use this. If you can already finish the sentence he usually wears something with... and you know which size he would actually finish, you do not need a recommendation - buy the 3ml attar at ₹379 to ₹399 and be done. The conversation earns its place when you are holding partial information: he drives a lot but you do not know how much, he might already have something in the car, the house may or may not be scented already. Those gaps are what five lines close. And if what you actually want is somebody to agree that the expensive option is fine, ask anyway, but be ready for the answer to be that a ₹449 bottle reaches more of his week than a ₹3,999 machine does.
The SOSA gifting range
Three questions settle almost every father gift. Will it be worn, in which case it is a taste decision and you need to be able to finish the sentence he usually wears something with...? Does it go in his car, where the only real choice is between the mild hanging format and the stronger spray at the same price, and where the gift is noticed every single morning? Or does it sit in a room, which is the answer for a retired father or one who works from home, and which asks nothing of you except knowing which room he actually sits in? Answer that first, then pick the band - because the commonest mistake here is spending more to cover up not knowing.
| Gift | What it is | Who it suits | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| SOSA attars | Alcohol-free roll-on oil | Nawaab is the oud one and Ameeri the rose-and-sandalwood one - the traditional formats most Indian fathers already recognise | from ₹379 |
| SOSA Attar Trio | Pack of three attars | Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani in one box - for when you cannot name what he wears | from ₹1,055 |
| SOSA car fragrance | Hanging or spray | Nine scents, each in a mild hanging format and a stronger spray at the same price - the gap in most fathers' lives | from ₹449 |
| SOSA Safar | Waterless car and travel diffuser | Cordless, rechargeable cold diffusion for a father who genuinely drives for hours or lives out of a suitcase | ₹3,999 |
| SOSA reed diffusers | Passive home fragrance | Five scents in 50ml and 130ml, nothing to plug in or switch off, about 6 to 10 weeks - the retired-father answer | from ₹749 |
| SOSA reed duo sets | Two reeds in one box | Day & Night, Fresh & Grounded and Warmth & Bloom - a gift to both parents rather than one | from ₹1,498 |
| SOSA Vaayu | Waterless cold-air machine | Approx 1000 m3 of connected air with a Bluetooth app and timer - a large home or his business premises | ₹11,999 |
Three different fluids run through this range and none of them is interchangeable. Reed diffusers use their own alcohol-free reed oil. The SOSA ultrasonics - Boond ₹899, Sukoon ₹1,899 and Megh ₹3,499 - run the water-based Hotel Collection from ₹299. Vaayu and Safar run waterless nebulising oil, so the ₹299 water-based bottle never goes into either of them. SOSA blends are SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations and SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
- Attars - Adaa ₹379 / ₹669 / ₹1,149, Ameeri ₹385 / ₹679 / ₹1,165, Mastani ₹389 / ₹685 / ₹1,179 and Nawaab ₹399 / ₹699 / ₹1,199 in 3ml, 6ml and 12ml. The Attar Trio is ₹1,055, ₹1,859 or ₹3,189.
- Reed diffusers - Morning Freshness ₹749, Garden Bloom and Evening Calm ₹799, Mountain Breeze and Fresh Brew ₹849 in 50ml; 130ml from ₹1,249. They last about 6 to 10 weeks. Duo sets from ₹1,498.
- Car fragrance - nine scents from ₹449 to ₹549, each in a mild hanging format and a stronger spray at the same price, with 50ml sprays at ₹1,499 and saver combos at ₹899 to ₹949. Safar is ₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired trios.
- Not published, and therefore never stated here: how long any fragrance will be liked, delivery or dispatch timing, any festive discount, any minimum order quantity or bulk rate, and any claim about what a person will feel on receiving a gift. Those questions go to WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.
Versailles
A striking number of the messages we get start the same way: my father says he doesn't want anything. In my experience that sentence almost never means what it says. It usually means do not spend money on me, which is a different instruction entirely, and it is one you can actually follow. The gift that works is small, it is used up rather than kept, and it goes somewhere he already is. That is why so much of what I recommend for fathers costs between ₹379 and ₹1,000, and why I am perfectly happy to talk somebody out of the bigger box.
The second thing I say is: look at his car. An Indian father who commutes has a space that belongs entirely to him, that he spends more waking hours in than any room of the house, and that he has almost certainly never spent a rupee on making pleasant. A ₹449 hanging bottle is noticed on the first morning and every morning after, which is more than most gifts three times the price manage. If he does not drive, look at what he wears - and if he has worn sandalwood or oud his whole life, an attar is not a novelty to him, it is the format he grew up with.
One honest caution about the first-salary gift, because we see it often and it is lovely. The instinct is to spend the whole feeling in one purchase, and to buy the most expensive thing in the range to make the point. The point does not need an expensive object to be made. Most fathers I hear about kept the small thing and mentioned the amount for years. Spend it on accuracy - the right scent, the right format, the right place - and put whatever is left back in your own account, which is a thing he would approve of more than the gift.

Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent and does not remove, neutralise or purify odour, and no SOSA product makes any health, antibacterial, air-purifying or wellbeing claim. No claim is made about how any recipient will feel about a gift, and nothing here is a claim about mood, stress, calm or sleep: a fragrance is a scent, not a treatment, and where a product name contains a word such as Calm that is a name and not an effect. Recommendations by profession, age or routine describe where a person spends their day and nothing more; they are not claims about anybody's health, and no product here is suitable for use in a clinical setting on that basis. No delivery date, dispatch time, order cut-off, discount or minimum order quantity is stated anywhere on this page; corporate and bulk enquiries are answered on WhatsApp. SOSA blends are SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations and SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand; the SOSA perfumes are SOSA's own compositions and are not the designer fragrances they are described as being inspired by.
