A studio was one room and one machine, and the arithmetic was pleasantly boring. A 1BHK is the first home in India with a door in the middle of it — and a door is not a piece of joinery, it is a wall that fragrance cannot cross. That single fact decides the entire setup, and it is why this is the first home where I will genuinely tell you to buy two.
Quick answers — read this first
The setup: two Sukoons — ₹3,798, one in the living/dining, one in the bedroom, with six 15ml Hotel Collection scents included between them.

Why two: a 1BHK is two enclosed air masses. One machine covers 270–320 sq ft, which is one of your rooms, not both.

If it has to be one: put it in the living room and use the 2H timer with the bedroom door open before bed.
The short answer
Short answer: two Sukoons at ₹1,899 each — ₹3,798 for the pair. A typical Indian 1BHK is 500–650 sq ft split into a 180–250 sq ft living/dining and a 110–140 sq ft bedroom, separated by a door. One Sukoon covers 270–320 sq ft, which is either room properly and neither room through a closed door.
The pick: Sukoon in the living/dining running a clean scent through the day, Sukoon in the bedroom on low with the 2H timer at night. Six 15ml scents arrive with the pair; add a 300ml refill (₹1,799) once you know your everyday one, and a Boond (₹899) for the bathroom.
Shop: the Sukoon (₹1,899), the Hotel Collection from ₹299 and the full home scenting range.
Straight answer
What is the best ultrasonic diffuser setup for a 1BHK?
1. Two Sukoons — ₹3,798. One in the living/dining, one in the bedroom. A 1BHK is the first Indian home with two genuinely enclosed air masses, and that is what decides the number.

2. The coverage number is the reason, not the sales pitch. A Sukoon covers 270–320 sq ft. Your living/dining is roughly 180–250 sq ft and your bedroom 110–140 sq ft. Either one is comfortably inside a single machine's range — but 270–320 sq ft does not become 500–650 sq ft because you would like it to, and it certainly does not travel through a shut bedroom door.

3. Six fragrances arrive with the pair. Every Sukoon ships with three 15ml Hotel Collection scents of your choice, so two machines land with six bottles between them. That is the part that changes the maths: ₹3,798 buys two machines and a fragrance wardrobe, not two machines and an empty tank.

4. One machine carried between rooms does work. I am not going to pretend otherwise. It is also a chore you will perform roughly seven hundred times a year, and the flat is only ever scented where you last put it down.

5. Do not buy a Vaayu for a 1BHK. It is a waterless nebuliser rated for up to 1000m³ — several times your entire flat, at ₹11,999. It is the right machine for a large connected home and the wrong one here.

A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
TL;DR: two Sukoons at ₹3,798 — one per enclosed room, six 15ml Hotel Collection scents included between them. One machine works if you are willing to carry it; two is the setup that actually finishes the job.
Two Sukoons
The two-room answer
Two Sukoons ₹3,798
A 1BHK has two enclosed air masses and a door between them, so the honest setup is one Sukoon in the living room and one in the bedroom. That is ₹3,798 — and because every Sukoon ships with three 15ml Hotel Collection scents, you end up with six bottles between the two machines, which is enough to run a different fragrance in each room and still have a wardrobe left over.

Why the door in the middle decides everything

Everything about scenting a 1BHK follows from one structural fact: it is the first home you are likely to live in where two rooms can be closed off from each other. A studio had none of these. A 2BHK has three. The 1BHK is the crossover point, which is exactly why it is the home people get wrong most often — they buy studio arithmetic for a home that no longer obeys it.

1
THE STRUCTURE
Two enclosed air masses, not one flat
A typical Indian 1BHK runs 500–650 sq ft: a living/dining of roughly 180–250 sq ft, a bedroom of roughly 110–140 sq ft, a kitchen and a bathroom. On a floor plan that reads as one home. To a diffuser it reads as two separate rooms of air with a solid barrier between them, because that is what it is. Fragrance disperses through the air available to it and stops at anything solid — and a closed door is as solid as the wall it sits in.
2
THE COVERAGE MATHS
270–320 sq ft is one room, not one home
The Sukoon is rated at 270–320 sq ft, which is a generous fit for a 250 sq ft living/dining and frankly over-specified for a 140 sq ft bedroom. Neither of those is the problem. The problem is that you cannot add the two rooms together and expect one machine to service the total, because the total does not exist as a single volume for more than the few hours a day the door happens to be open.
The 1BHK rule: count the doors you close, then buy that many machines. In this home the honest answer is two — and the bathroom makes an optional third at ₹899.
3
THE HONEST ALTERNATIVE
One machine, carried — it works, and it wears thin
You can absolutely buy one Sukoon at ₹1,899, run it in the living room while you are awake and move it into the bedroom before you sleep. It is quiet, it is about 17cm tall, it weighs very little, and the tank does not need emptying to move it. What it costs you is a small daily transaction: remember, unplug, carry, plug, and then do the reverse in the morning. Most people keep that up for a month or two and then quietly stop — at which point the flat has one scented room and one that smells of nothing in particular.

The six setups, compared

These are the six configurations people actually buy for a 1BHK, with what each one costs and what it honestly delivers. Two of them are wrong, one is a compromise, one is the answer, and one is the answer plus the bathroom.

The 1BHK comparison
Six setups, what they cost and what they cover
Setup Cost What it actually covers Honest verdict
One Sukoon, living room only ₹1,899 Living/dining, 180–250 sq ft A good living room and a silent bedroom
One Sukoon, carried between rooms ₹1,899 Whichever room you last put it in Works. You will get tired of it by month three
Two Sukoons ₹3,798 Both enclosed rooms, permanently, with six 15ml scents The setup this guide recommends
Two Sukoons + a Boond ₹4,697 Both rooms plus the bathroom The complete version, if the bathroom bothers you
One Megh 6-litre ₹3,499 One room, for far longer between fills A bigger tank does not open a closed door
Vaayu waterless ₹11,999 Up to 1000m³ — several times your flat Overkill for a 1BHK. Buy it when you move

The 1BHK setup — two machines, seven scents, one running cost
The SOSA principle
A 1BHK is not a larger studio. It is two studios with a door between them.
Once you see it that way, the second machine stops looking like an upsell and starts looking like the second half of the purchase you already made.

Choosing two scents rather than one

The best part of owning two machines has nothing to do with coverage. It is that a 1BHK becomes the first home where you can put a different fragrance behind each door, and that contrast is what makes small flats feel considered rather than merely nice. A hotel does not run one scent through the lobby, the corridor and the suite. It runs a sequence, and the sequence is most of why the place reads as expensive. You now have exactly enough rooms to do the same thing at ₹3,798.

For the living/dining, choose something clean with a little lift, because this is the room the front door opens into and the room that sits nearest the kitchen. The Ritz-Carlton-inspired (white tea, bergamot, cedar) is the safest first pick; the Westin-inspired (white tea, aloe, cedar) is drier still and the better choice if your kitchen has no door of its own. The 1 Hotels-inspired (cedarwood, vetiver, green leaves) works if you would rather the flat did not announce itself as hotel-like at all.

For the bedroom, go warmer and quieter — the St. Regis-inspired (amber, violet, woods) is the one I would put there, because a small enclosed room at night is the only place in an Indian flat where a rich scent is genuinely comfortable rather than tiring. Run it on low with the 2H timer so it works while you fall asleep and stops on its own. Six 15ml bottles arrive with your two machines, so all of this is decided before you spend anything further; the only follow-up worth making early is a 300ml 300ml refill at ₹1,799 for whichever scent turns out to be your everyday one.

Two machines is not twice the fragrance. It is two rooms that smell like two different decisions — which is the whole trick a hotel is playing on you.

Buy What it does When it earns its place Price
1. Two Sukoons One per enclosed room; 270–320 sq ft each; six 15ml scents between them Immediately — this is the setup ₹3,798
2. 300ml refill Months of your everyday scent across both rooms, at about ₹6 per ml Once you know which of the six you keep choosing ₹1,799
3. Hotel Collection 15ml A seventh mood, or a seasonal swap for one room When one room starts feeling like the other ₹299 each
4. Boond 300ml The bathroom — the third door in a 1BHK If the bathroom still smells like a bathroom ₹899
5. Pack of 7 × 15ml All seven scents at once — the full wardrobe If you would rather audition everything than choose ₹1,799
Not this: Vaayu Waterless nebuliser, up to 1000m³, app and timer Not in a 1BHK. This is a whole-home machine ₹11,999
Honest notes for buyers: the Sukoon covers 270–320 sq ft, which is why a studio needs exactly one and a 3BHK needs three or a Vaayu instead. Ultrasonic diffusers are water-based and add a little humidity to the room, which is a benefit in an AC-dry home and a consideration in a damp coastal one; they run SOSA's own water-based Hotel Collection fragrance and nothing else, because thicker essential and carrier oils clog the 2.4MHz misting plate. The Vaayu and the HVAC systems are waterless nebulisers running undiluted oil — a different technology, not a bigger Sukoon, and the better choice for long daily runs across connected space. Fragrance layers on top of clean air; it does not replace an extractor fan, an open window or a bin that gets emptied. The Hotel Collection scents are SOSA's own interpretations inspired by the world's finest hotels; SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house, not affiliated with or endorsed by any hotel brand. Two rooms, two moods
Hotel Collection from ₹299
Seven hotel-inspired water-based fragrances built for ultrasonic diffusers: white-tea freshness in the Westin-inspired and Ritz-Carlton-inspired, green woods in the 1 Hotels-inspired, warm amber in the St. Regis-inspired. In a 1BHK the point is contrast — one scent in the living room, a different one behind the bedroom door, so the flat has a geography you can feel with your eyes shut.

A note from Sonal

I resisted writing this one for a while, because "buy two" is exactly what a brand would say and I have spent most of this cluster telling studio owners to buy one. But the 1BHK is where the honest answer flips, and pretending otherwise would be the actual dishonesty.

The test I use has never changed: count the doors you close. In a studio you close one, and it is the bathroom. In a 1BHK you close two, and one of them has your bed behind it. A machine rated for 270–320 sq ft cannot service a room it is not in, and no setting on the front panel changes that. What I can promise is that the second Sukoon arrives with three more fragrances, so the second ₹1,899 buys more than a duplicate.

Everything is made and supported from Pune, and a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. You get a home that smells like somewhere you chose; a girl gets a classroom. That equation has always felt right to me.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best ultrasonic diffuser setup for a 1BHK?
Two Sukoons at ₹1,899 each — ₹3,798 for the pair — with one in the living/dining and one in the bedroom. Each covers 270–320 sq ft and arrives with three 15ml Hotel Collection scents, so the pair lands with six bottles between them.
Can one Sukoon cover a whole 1BHK?
It can cover one room of it properly. A Sukoon is rated at 270–320 sq ft, which suits a 180–250 sq ft living/dining or a 110–140 sq ft bedroom — but fragrance does not travel through a closed door, so the room behind the shut door gets nothing regardless of the setting.
Is two diffusers overkill in a 500 sq ft 1BHK?
No, because the 500 sq ft is not one volume. It is two enclosed rooms plus a kitchen and bathroom, and the diffuser count follows enclosed rooms rather than total floor area. Two Sukoons at ₹3,798 is the proportionate answer.
Should I buy a Vaayu instead of two Sukoons for a 1BHK?
No. The Vaayu at ₹11,999 is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated for up to 1000m³ of connected space — a different technology aimed at large open homes, not a bigger Sukoon. In a 1BHK it is several times the machine you need.
How much does it cost to run two Sukoons in a 1BHK?
The machines arrive with six 15ml Hotel Collection bottles, so nothing for the first stretch. After that a 300ml 300ml refill at ₹1,799 works out at roughly ₹6 per ml and runs both rooms for months, against about ₹20 per ml in 15ml bottles.
