SOSA's Hotel Collection offers seven hotel-inspired bedroom scents, each with its own character - from soft white teas to warm ambers, serene florals to earthy woods. With so much beauty to choose from, which is right for you? This guide matches each of the seven to a taste, mood and room, so you can find your signature quickly. Here's how to choose the hotel scent for your bedroom.
Quick answers — read this first
Which of the 7 hotel scents is right for my bedroom? Match it to the feeling you want. For quiet, polished calm, choose the Ritz-Carlton (white tea, bergamot, cedar) - elegant white tea. For fresh, spa-like serenity, the Westin (white tea, aloe, cedar). For a serene, elegant floral, the Shangri-La (jasmine, green tea, white tea). For grounding, earthy, natural calm, 1 Hotels (cedar, vetiver, green leaves). For warm, romantic, old-world glamour, the St. Regis (amber, violet, woods). For a warm, gracious, welcoming all-rounder, the Four Seasons (citrus, floral, sandalwood). And for bold, modern, energising personality, the W Hotels (citrus, pepper, amber). A quick way to narrow it: if you like fresh, clean scents, look at the Ritz-Carlton, Westin or 1 Hotels; if you like warm ones, the St. Regis or Four Seasons; if you love florals, the Shangri-La or Four Seasons; if you want bold and modern, the W Hotels. All are soft, understated, water-based scents (from Rs 299) for ultrasonic diffusers or SOSA Vaayu. Start with one as your signature, and build a small seasonal wardrobe if you enjoy it. These hotel-inspired scents are independent interpretations, not affiliated with the hotels named. Alcohol-free, made in India.
What are the 7 hotel-inspired scents? Ritz-Carlton (white tea, bergamot, cedar - polished), Westin (white tea, aloe, cedar - spa-fresh), Shangri-La (jasmine, green tea, white tea - serene floral), 1 Hotels (cedar, vetiver, green leaves - earthy), St. Regis (amber, violet, woods - old-world glamour), Four Seasons (citrus, floral, sandalwood - gracious), and W Hotels (citrus, pepper, amber - bold modern). All from SOSA's Hotel Collection, from Rs 299.
Which hotel scent is best for a beginner? A soft white tea is the easiest, most fail-safe choice - the Ritz-Carlton (polished) or Westin (spa-fresh) suit almost any room and taste, and are easy to live with. If you prefer warmth, the sandalwood-based Four Seasons is a gracious, versatile all-rounder. Start soft and clean, then explore from there.
The short answer
Short answer: match by feeling: Ritz-Carlton (polished white tea), Westin (spa-fresh), Shangri-La (serene floral), 1 Hotels (earthy), St. Regis (glamorous amber), Four Seasons (gracious), W Hotels (bold modern). All from Rs 299.
The pick: a SOSA reed diffuser (from ₹749) inside the cabinet, or a mist diffuser with the Hotel Collection (from ₹299) for the entrance.
Shop: SOSA reed diffusers and the Hotel Collection scenting range.
A shoe cabinet smells because damp, worn shoes breed odour-causing bacteria in an enclosed space. The lasting fix is two-part: deodorise the shoes at the source, then add a continuous fragrance so the cabinet and entrance smell fresh. A reed or mist diffuser does the second part quietly.

Seven hotel scents, one for you. Here's how to match each to your taste, mood and room.
1
The three fresh, clean choices
Ritz-Carlton, Westin, 1 Hotels
If you lean fresh and clean, three suit you. The Ritz-Carlton (white tea, bergamot, cedar) is polished quiet luxury - elegant, refined, the fail-safe grand-lobby calm. The Westin (white tea, aloe, cedar) is fresh, cool, spa-like serenity - the wellness-retreat choice. And the 1 Hotels (cedar, vetiver, green leaves) is earthy, grounding, nature-luxury - a green, forest-retreat calm for those who love natural, woody-green scents. Pick the Ritz-Carlton for elegance, the Westin for spa-freshness, the 1 Hotels for grounded, earthy calm. All three are clean, understated and easy to live with, ideal for minimal, modern or airy rooms and warmer months. The two white teas are the most fail-safe, beginner-friendly of all seven. SOSA's hotel-inspired scents are independent interpretations created by SOSA. SOSA is not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with the hotels named, whose names are trademarks of their respective owners, used only to describe the scent style.
Tip: fresh and clean: Ritz-Carlton (polished), Westin (spa-fresh) and 1 Hotels (earthy, grounding) - ideal for minimal, airy rooms.
2
The warm and floral choices
St. Regis, Four Seasons, Shangri-La
If you lean warm or love florals, three more await. The St. Regis (amber, violet, woods) is warm, romantic, old-world glamour - the most classically luxurious, cosy and elegant, gorgeous in winter and evenings. The Four Seasons (citrus, floral, sandalwood) is a warm, gracious welcome - a versatile, cared-for citrus-floral-woody all-rounder that suits almost anyone. And the Shangri-La (jasmine, green tea, white tea) is a serene, elegant tea-garden floral - beautifully floral yet clean and restful, for a calm, sophisticated room. Pick the St. Regis for cosy glamour, the Four Seasons for gracious warmth and versatility, the Shangri-La for serene florals. These bring warmth, romance and floral elegance - lovely for cosy, classic or feminine rooms.
3
The bold choice, and how to decide
W Hotels, and a quick method
If you want personality, the W Hotels (citrus, pepper, amber) is the bold, modern, energising one - a stylish, contemporary lobby-bar warmth with real character, kept soft in a bedroom. To decide quickly, narrow by family first: love fresh, clean scents? Look at the Ritz-Carlton, Westin or 1 Hotels. Love warm ones? The St. Regis or Four Seasons. Love florals? The Shangri-La or Four Seasons. Want bold and modern? The W Hotels. Unsure? A soft white tea (Ritz-Carlton or Westin) is the fail-safe start. Whichever you choose, begin with one as your everyday signature, diffuse it gently and consistently on a clean base in an ultrasonic diffuser (Boond ₹799, Sukoon ₹1,799, Megh ₹3,499) or Vaayu (₹11,999), and build a small seasonal wardrobe later. All from the Hotel Collection (from ₹299). Water-based, made in India.
Tip: the W Hotels is the bold, modern one; unsure? start with a fail-safe soft white tea, then explore by family.
The SOSA principle
Match your bedroom scent by feeling: polished (Ritz-Carlton), spa-fresh (Westin), serene floral (Shangri-La), earthy (1 Hotels), glamorous (St. Regis), gracious (Four Seasons) or bold (W Hotels).
Match one of the seven to the feeling you want: Ritz-Carlton (white tea, bergamot, cedar - polished calm), Westin (white tea, aloe, cedar - spa-fresh), Shangri-La (jasmine, green tea, white tea - serene floral), 1 Hotels (cedar, vetiver, green leaves - earthy grounding), St. Regis (amber, violet, woods - old-world glamour), Four Seasons (citrus, floral, sandalwood - gracious welcome), W Hotels (citrus, pepper, amber - bold modern). Narrow by family: fresh (Ritz/Westin/1 Hotels), warm (St. Regis/Four Seasons), floral (Shangri-La/Four Seasons), bold (W Hotels). A soft white tea is the fail-safe start. All from Rs 299. Independent hotel-inspired interpretations, not affiliated with the hotels named.
Narrow by family first - fresh, warm, floral or bold - and the right one of the seven appears almost at once.

The SOSA shoe cabinet & entryway edit
Whichever you choose, every SOSA product here is alcohol-free and made in small batches in India. Reeds need no flame, plug or water and are safe to stand inside a cabinet; the ultrasonic mist diffusers use a water-based Hotel Collection fragrance in the open entrance, and the Vaayu machine runs waterless on a timer. Match the product to your space, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Here is the full edit.
The SOSA shoe cabinet & entryway edit
From a reed inside the cabinet to a whole-foyer machine - matched to your space
Waterless cold-air machine, Bluetooth app + timer - a signature scent across the whole entrance, hands-off
₹11,999
A note on the two systems: SOSA reed diffusers use their own alcohol-free reed oil, need no electricity, and are safe to stand inside a shoe cabinet (no flame, no heat). The Hotel Collection is a separate water-based fragrance made for ultrasonic (mist) diffusers used in the open entrance - this is not reed diffuser oil, and the two are not interchangeable. A diffuser scents the cabinet and entrance air; it does not deodorise the inside of a shoe, so treat strong shoe odour at the source first. SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house and is not affiliated with any hotel brand. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

A note from Sonal
Nobody actually wants a nice-smelling shoe cabinet. What they want is an entrance that does not smell of shoes - a home that greets you, and your guests, with something fresh instead of that first embarrassing whiff. Those are two different jobs.
The first job is at the source: shoes smell because sweat and damp let bacteria grow, so air them, dry them, rotate pairs, and use a little baking soda or a shoe deodoriser inside. The second job is the air: once the shoes are handled, a continuous fragrance keeps the cabinet and the entrance smelling lovely. A reed diffuser is small and safe enough to stand right inside the cabinet; a mist diffuser makes the whole entrance smell like a good hotel.
One honest note: a diffuser scents the space around the shoes, not the inside of the shoe itself. If a pair really reeks, deal with the pair first - the fragrance is there to keep a clean entrance welcoming, not to sit on top of a problem. Made in small batches in India; a part of every order supports girl-child education.
Frequently asked questions

What are the 7 hotel-inspired scents?
They are: Ritz-Carlton (white tea, bergamot, cedar - polished quiet luxury), Westin (white tea, aloe, cedar - fresh, spa-like), Shangri-La (jasmine, green tea, white tea - serene floral), 1 Hotels (cedar, vetiver, green leaves - earthy, grounding), St. Regis (amber, violet, woods - warm, old-world glamour), Four Seasons (citrus, floral, sandalwood - gracious, welcoming), and W Hotels (citrus, pepper, amber - bold, modern). All are from SOSA's Hotel Collection, from Rs 299, as water-based scents for ultrasonic diffusers or SOSA Vaayu. These are independent hotel-inspired interpretations, not affiliated with the hotels named.
Which hotel scent is best for a beginner?
A soft white tea is the easiest, most fail-safe choice - the Ritz-Carlton (polished) or Westin (spa-fresh) suit almost any room and taste, and are soft and easy to live with all day and night. If you prefer warmth, the sandalwood-based Four Seasons is a gracious, versatile all-rounder that's also very approachable. Starting with a soft, clean or gently warm scent lets you enjoy a hotel-like bedroom immediately, and you can explore the more distinctive options - earthy 1 Hotels, glamorous St. Regis, bold W Hotels - once you know what you love.
How do I choose between fresh and warm hotel scents?
Ask what you want your room to feel like. If you want bright, clean, airy and refreshing, choose a fresh scent - the Ritz-Carlton, Westin (both white teas) or the earthy-green 1 Hotels. If you want snug, cosy and comforting, choose a warm scent - the glamorous St. Regis amber or the gracious, sandalwood-based Four Seasons. Season helps too: fresh for warmer months, warm for cooler ones. If you love both, many people use a fresh white tea in summer and a warm amber or sandalwood in winter, building a small seasonal scent wardrobe.
Can I use more than one of the seven?
Yes - many people build a small scent wardrobe. A lovely approach is a fresh scent (a white tea or the serene Shangri-La) for warmer months and a warm one (the St. Regis amber or Four Seasons sandalwood) for cooler months, switching with the seasons. The key is to use one at a time as your current signature so the room stays coherent, rather than mixing several at once. All seven are from SOSA's Hotel Collection (from Rs 299), so exploring and switching is easy - start with one you love and add from there.

Facts verified July 2026: Shoe and shoe-cabinet odour is caused by bacteria that grow on the sweat and moisture in worn shoes, made worse by damp, poor ventilation and an enclosed cabinet; it is best reduced at the source - airing and drying shoes, rotating pairs, using baking soda, cedar or a shoe deodoriser inside, and keeping the cabinet ventilated and dry - before any fragrance is added. SOSA reed diffusers are alcohol-free fragrance oil with natural reeds (no flame, no electricity, no water), safe to stand inside a cabinet, from ₹749. SOSA ultrasonic (mist) diffusers - Boond (300ml, ₹799), Sukoon (500ml, ₹1,799) and Megh (6L, ₹3,499) - use a water-based Hotel Collection fragrance (from ₹299, sold separately) and are used in the open entrance; this is not reed diffuser oil. SOSA Vaayu is a waterless cold-air machine with Bluetooth app and timer, around 1000m³ coverage, ₹11,999. A diffuser scents the surrounding air, not the interior of a shoe. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand. Cruelty-free, vegan, made in India. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live collection pages.
