Two answers, and a door between them. A thousand square feet is the first size on this ladder where I genuinely cannot tell you what to buy without seeing how the rehab area joins the rest of the building.
Quick answers — read this first
What scenting system makes sense for a 1,000 sq ft chiropractic and rehab centre? One of two, and the deciding fact is whether the rehab floor is behind a door. Closed off, your scented zone is reception plus corridor, around 340 sq ft, which is 340 × 3.05 × 0.0929 or roughly 96 cubic metres - a reed at ₹849 or a Sukoon at ₹1,899. Open to reception, you are holding a level across 640 sq ft of connected air, about 181 cubic metres, and the Vaayu at ₹11,999 becomes arguable.

Why is this the first size where the answer stops being obvious? Because three things arrive together and not one of them is coverage. The corridor gets long enough that distribution is a real word rather than a brochure one. The rehab floor gives you hours when you would rather the source were off. And the connected volume passes the point where a single bottle's gradient is visible end to end. Below a thousand square feet those are hypothetical. Here they describe an actual Tuesday.

Am I scenting the rehab floor in either case? No, in both cases, and that does not change with the door. An exercise floor is an occupancy problem rather than a fragrance one - the answers there are air changes, laundry turnaround, wipe-down between clients and dry storage, and fragrance does not remove, mask or neutralise any of it. What the door changes is whether that floor's air is part of the volume you have to hold a level across. Connected, it is, whether or not you want it to be. That is an arithmetic consequence, not a decision.
The short answer
Short answer: It depends entirely on whether the rehab area is behind a door. Closed off, the scented zone is reception plus corridor at about 340 sq ft or 96 cubic metres, and a Sukoon at ₹1,899 or a reed covers it. Open to reception, you are holding one level across roughly 640 sq ft and 181 cubic metres of connected air, and a mounted waterless machine becomes defensible on distribution rather than on coverage.
The pick: the SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899 where the rehab floor is closed off, and the SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 where reception and the rehab floor are genuinely one open space.
Next step: send the plan with the rehab boundary drawn on it and tell us whether that door is ever shut, and we will call the coin for you - ask for a clinic scenting plan.

The machine end of a decision that swings on a doorway - tap for specifications
Straight answer
What scenting system actually makes sense for a 1,000 sq ft chiropractic and rehabilitation centre?
One of two, and the fact that decides it is a door rather than a number. Take a typical thousand: reception and waiting at 250 sq ft, a corridor at 90, a rehabilitation floor at 300, three cabins at 290, and 70 for a store, a washroom and an office. The cabins, store and washroom leave the calculation immediately - they are unscented as a matter of course and their cubic metres belong to nobody. What is left splits two ways. If the rehab floor sits behind a door that is actually shut, your scented zone is reception plus corridor: 340 sq ft, which at a 3.05 metre ceiling is 340 × 3.05 × 0.0929, or about 96 cubic metres. That is a single bottle's job, or a SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899 if you want a switch, and the ₹11,999 machine is not in the conversation. If the rehab floor is open to reception - no door, a change of flooring and a rack of equipment where the wall would be - then the connected air is 640 sq ft, or roughly 181 cubic metres, and you are now trying to hold one level across a space where a third of the air belongs to people exercising. That is a distribution problem, and it is the first genuine one on this ladder. A passive bottle standing at the desk will read correctly within three metres of itself and fade to nothing by the far wall. The SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 becomes defensible here, and I want to be precise about why: not because 181 cubic metres needs a machine rated to 1000, which is plainly untrue, but because wall mounting puts the source into the room's own air path, and because timed run windows let the thing stop when the floor is busy. Coverage is not doing the work. Distribution and control are. Be clear about what neither answer includes: you are not scenting the rehabilitation floor in either case. Sweat and occupancy are solved by air changes, laundry turnaround, wipe-down between clients and dry storage, and fragrance does not remove, mask or neutralise any of that - it sits alongside it. Fragrance here is an ambience decision like lighting, seating or flooring, it works alongside your ventilation and cleaning rather than instead of them, SOSA products are not medical devices, we make no claim that scenting affects bookings, retention or spend, adjustment and treatment rooms stay unscented, and the clinician's judgement overrides any scenting plan.
Rehab behind a door: 340 sq ft scented, about 96 cubic metres, a ₹1,899 Sukoon or a reed. Rehab open to reception: 640 sq ft connected, about 181 cubic metres, and the ₹11,999 machine becomes arguable on distribution.
Closed layout, the SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899, or a reed at ₹849 if nobody needs the switch. Open layout, the SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999, wall mounted in the reception half and pointed away from the rehab floor.

The machine end of the coin-toss

The Vaayu is a live candidate on this page for the first time in the size family, which is why it is worth reading the specification rather than the price. The Angaan is here for the boundary above it, and a thousand square feet does not come close to that boundary.

SOSA Vaayu
A real candidate in the open layout
SOSA Vaayu
Waterless cold-air nebuliser at ₹11,999, rated to 1000m³ or about 2,000-3,000 sq ft. Wall or HVAC mountable, 1h/4h/8h/24h run windows, adjustable intensity, key-lock. In an open thousand it is bought for the mount and the timer, not for the coverage figure.

SOSA Angaan
HVAC nebulising diffuser at ₹25,999, rated to 3,000m³ or roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, 800ml reservoir, programmable schedules, under 42dB. A thousand square feet is not within sight of this, and no combination of open plan makes it so.
From ₹25,999
SOSA Vaayu
The instrument for a connected open plan
SOSA Vaayu Waterless Diffuser
₹11,999, 1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), waterless nebulisation of undiluted oil with no water and no heat, 400ml tank lasting 90+ days, Bluetooth app and onboard buttons, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, key-lock, under 38dB, 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mount. CE, RoHS and SGS are electrical and compliance marks, not medical approval. Made in India.

Three things that arrive at a thousand square feet

Below this size the arguments for a machine are all conditional. Here three of them become concrete on the same floor plan, and it is worth separating which ones are real from the one that still is not.

1
Arrival one
A door is worth three hundred square feet of specification
Run both sums and the difference is stark. Closed, you size for 340 sq ft and 96 cubic metres. Open, you size for 640 sq ft and 181, because a doorless boundary between two spaces does not separate their air - it restricts it slightly and nothing more. The same lease, the same client list and the same three cabins produce two specifications that sit several thousand rupees apart, and the only thing separating them is a leaf of glass or plasterboard and a habit of closing it. That is worth knowing before a fit-out is finalised rather than after. It is also worth being honest about the reverse: if the door exists but is propped open all day because the trainer prefers it that way, you have the open layout, whatever the drawing says.
Tip: Walk to the rehab boundary at four in the afternoon rather than reading the plan. Whatever the door is doing then is the layout you own.
SOSA Vaayu
Mounting is the honest reason the Vaayu belongs in an open thousand. A free-standing bottle on a desk cannot be put where the air actually moves.
See SOSA Vaayu →
2
Arrival two
The rehab floor is in your volume even though it is not in your plan
This is the part owners find counter-intuitive, so it is worth stating flatly. Deciding not to scent a room removes it from your intentions. It does not remove it from the air. If the rehab floor is open to reception, its 300 square feet and roughly 85 cubic metres are part of the connected volume your single source has to sit in, and the level you set at the desk is diluted across all of it. You are not scenting the gym and you should not try to. You are, however, paying for its air in the sizing, which is a different sentence and an unavoidable one. The practical consequence is that an open layout runs at a lower apparent level in reception for the same source, and adding output to compensate pushes scent onto a floor that should not have it.
SOSA Vaayu
Adjustable intensity plus a directional wall mount is how the Vaayu handles this. It does not create a boundary that is not there - it just stops aiming at the wrong half.
See SOSA Vaayu →
3
Arrival three
Distribution and control turn real, and coverage still does not
Three arguments for a machine stop being hypothetical at this size. Distribution: a ninety-square-foot corridor plus an open floor is the first layout where where you put the source changes what the far end smells of. Control: a rehab timetable gives you specific hours when you would rather nothing were running, and a bottle cannot honour an hour. Uptime: a 400ml tank at 90+ days is a different maintenance conversation from a tank somebody has to empty and wipe. Coverage, meanwhile, is still not an argument. A hundred and eighty-one cubic metres against a machine rated to a thousand is not a stretch, it is a surplus, and if a supplier tells you a thousand square feet needs the coverage figure, they are selling you the wrong number.
Tip: Write down which of the arguments applies to your building in one sentence each. If you cannot fill two lines, the coin has already landed on the bottle.
SOSA Vaayu
The 400ml tank running 90+ days is the uptime argument in one line. The Vaayu also draws 5W, roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten-hour daily schedule.
See SOSA Vaayu →
The SOSA principle
A tipping point is not the size at which a machine finally covers the room. It is the size at which distribution, control and uptime stop being brochure words and start describing your actual Tuesday.
Coverage arrives much later than owners expect, and usually after the decision has already been made on other grounds.
SOSA Vaayu
Bought for the mount, not the coverage volume: wall or HVAC mounting puts the source into the air path of an open plan, which is the only thing a desk-top bottle cannot do.

Four layouts, four systems

Find the row that matches your building rather than your lease. Every one of these is a thousand square feet, and the recommendations are not the same.

The SOSA plan
Four ways a thousand square feet gets laid out, and four different answers
What your thousand square feet actually looks like The system that fits it
SOSA VaayuRehab floor behind a door that is genuinely shut
340 sq ft scented, about 96 cubic metres. One reed at ₹849, or the Sukoon at ₹1,899 if a named person needs the switch. No machine above that. View →
SOSA VaayuRehab floor open to reception, reception the larger half
640 sq ft connected, about 181 cubic metres. The Vaayu at ₹11,999, wall mounted in the reception half, on run windows, at a low intensity. View →
Rehab floor open, and reception is a small corner of it
Buy nothing yet. You would be scenting a gym by accident and calling it a reception. Rebuild the boundary, or accept a bare, well-ventilated front and spend the money on the seating.
Rehab floor upstairs or on separate air handling
Two volumes, not one. Size the ground floor alone at about 96 cubic metres, put nothing upstairs, and treat the staircase as a corridor rather than a room.

Whether one unit can serve a connected reception and rehab space at all is argued in one machine over reception and an open rehab area, the subtraction that produced your scented figure in the first place is in scenting a 750 sq ft clinic, and the four reasons that eventually justify ₹11,999 are set out in when a clinic needs an active waterless machine. SOSA makes no health, therapeutic or wellbeing claim of any kind, and no claim that scenting affects bookings, retention or spend.

SOSA Vaayu
Run windows against a class timetable: 1h, 4h, 8h or 24h, chosen days, adjustable intensity and a key-lock. In an open plan with a busy floor, the hours it is off matter more than the level it runs at.
This is the one size on the ladder I will not call from a floor area alone
Send the plan with the rehab boundary drawn on it and tell us whether anything closes across it.
See the SOSA Vaayu Book a scenting plan
At a thousand square feet the deciding variable is not how big the clinic is. It is whether there is a door between reception and the rehab floor, and whether anybody ever shuts it.

In the closed layout the honest rung is below both of these: a reed at ₹749-₹849, or the Sukoon at ₹1,899, which is ultrasonic and therefore adds a little humidity and needs a tank routine somebody owns. The Megh at ₹3,499 is a runtime and humidity machine covering only about 215 sq ft, so it is not a candidate for either layout on this page. Fragrance is an ambience decision like lighting or seating, with no health, therapeutic or clinical claim of any kind. It works alongside your ventilation, cleaning and clinical protocol, never instead of them, and SOSA products are not medical devices. Adjustment and treatment rooms stay unscented, the rehabilitation floor gets nothing either, staff must be able to stop the source within seconds, and the clinician's judgement overrides any plan. Ask for a clinic scenting plan and we will settle it on your drawing.

A note from Sonal

I have called this one wrong before, from a floor area over the phone, and it is why I now ask for a drawing at this size and nothing smaller. The owner said a thousand square feet with a rehab area, I said Sukoon, and when the photographs arrived there was no wall at all between the equipment and the waiting chairs - just a change from tile to rubber matting. A bottle on that desk was never going to hold a level across the room, and I had told him it would.

What I ask now is one question and it is deliberately physical: is there anything you could close between the chairs and the equipment, and does anyone close it. Not whether the plan shows a partition. Whether something shuts. Owners answer that question accurately, because it is about their own building rather than about my product, and the answer sorts a thousand square feet into two piles that need two different systems.

The part I will not bend on either way is the rehabilitation floor. It gets nothing, in both layouts, and the fixes there are air changes, laundry turnaround, wipe-down and dry storage. We make no health, therapeutic or clinical claim of any kind and no claim that scenting affects bookings, retention or spend. Fragrance is an ambience decision, like lighting or seating. Treatment rooms stay unscented, and the clinician's judgement overrides any plan. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

How much of a 1,000 sq ft chiropractic and rehab centre is actually scented?
Between 340 and 640 square feet depending on the rehab boundary. Three cabins at around 100 sq ft each, plus a store, washroom and office, come off the top in every version. If the rehab floor is closed, the remainder is 340 sq ft or about 96 cubic metres. If it is open to reception, the connected air you are dosing is nearer 640 sq ft and 181 cubic metres.
Should I close off the rehab area purely to make the scenting simpler?
No. That is a building decision with consequences for supervision, sightlines and how the space works, and fragrance is nowhere near important enough to drive it. If a wall is going in for its own good reasons, tell whoever is drawing it, because it changes your specification. If it is not, size for the building you have.
Is the Vaayu oversized for a thousand square feet?
On coverage, yes, and obviously so - 181 cubic metres against a machine rated to 1000. It earns its place in an open layout on mounting, run windows and a tank that lasts 90+ days, not on the coverage volume. If none of those three describes a problem you actually have, the honest purchase is ₹1,899 and the difference stays in the bank.
What if my rehab floor is on the first floor above reception?
Then you have two volumes and one of them gets nothing. Size the ground floor alone, put no source upstairs, and treat the staircase as a corridor rather than a room. A stairwell does connect the two, so expect a faint drift upward, which is unremarkable and does not need correcting.
Can I run one source in reception and a second on the rehab floor?
You would not want the second one regardless of the layout, because the rehab floor is not scented at any level. In a connected space a second source also produces a competing gradient rather than more even coverage, which is a separate reason to say no. One source, in the reception half, at a level you set from the far side of the room.

Facts verified 24 August 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and onboard button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, operation under 38dB, DC 12V/1A at 5W (roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten-hour daily schedule), freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment. The SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) is an HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules and operation under 42dB, and also runs standalone wall-mounted or lay-flat. Ambient scent is an interior and hospitality decision: it works alongside proper ventilation, cleaning and clinical protocol and is not a substitute for any of them, it is not a medical device, and SOSA makes no health, therapeutic or treatment claim of any kind and no claim that fragrance affects bookings, retention or spend. CE, RoHS and SGS are electrical and compliance marks, not medical approval.
