Nothing is wrong with the machine. The room is two to three times larger than the number you sized against, and a glass facade is actively working against you on top of that.
Quick answers — read this first
Why does fragrance disappear in a double-height gallery? Because coverage follows air volume rather than floor area. A 2,000 sq ft atrium at twenty feet holds roughly two and a half times the air of the same floor plan at eight feet, so a machine sized on square footage is under-specified from the start.

Does a glass facade make it worse? Yes, in two ways. Solar gain warms the air near the glass and warm air rises, so a tall glazed space develops a slow upward current that carries vapour away from the people standing at ground level. The air conditioning then works harder, which increases air changes again.

What is the better answer? Often not a larger machine. Scent the contained rooms customers spend real time in - the closing rooms, the sample apartment, the lounge - with a Vaayu at ₹11,999 each, and leave the atrium as circulation.
The short answer
Short answer: The atrium holds two to three times the air you sized for, and the glass adds an upward current. Scent the contained rooms instead.
The pick: the SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 for a contained room, the Aangan at ₹25,999 for a gallery floor and the Meenar at ₹38,500 for genuinely large volumes, on Hotel Collection fragrance from ₹299.
Sizing? WhatsApp +91 96192 18531 with your gallery drawings including the section, ceiling heights, glazing, HVAC design and the buyer journey through the rooms - remote sizing from your own measurements, no site visit needed outside Pune.
How SOSA sizes a commercial space - the order that actually worksStep 1 - find the source: solvents, sanitiser, footwear, drains, AC filters, stale airStep 2 - draw the air volume, not the floor plan: doors and partitions divide itStep 3 - decide which zones stay unscented, and write that downStep 4 - set intensity low and schedule it around your peakStep 5 - re-check after two weeks, then leave it alone
Commercial scenting goes wrong in a predictable order: somebody buys a machine to cover a smell that has a source, puts it where the socket is, runs it at full intensity because day one felt weak, and ends up with a room people comment on for the wrong reason. Source first, air volume second, unscented zones written down third, low intensity and a schedule fourth. This guide walks that sequence, with the real SOSA machine range at each size.
Straight answer
Why does fragrance vanish in a double-height sales gallery with a glass facade?
Because you sized against the floor plan and the room is priced in air. Coverage follows volume including ceiling height, and a double-height gallery is the space where that distinction does the most damage. A 2,000 sq ft atrium at twenty feet holds roughly two and a half times the air of the same 2,000 sq ft at eight feet, so a machine that would comfortably hold a reception is under-specified before anybody switches it on. Then the glass. A fully glazed south or west facade admits significant solar gain through the day, the air near the glass warms, warm air rises, and a tall space develops a slow but continuous upward current. Vapour released at ground level goes up with it, which is precisely where nobody is standing. The air conditioning then runs harder to fight the same solar load, raising the air-change rate, which removes more vapour again. Three effects, all pointing the same way, none of them a fault in the machine. The expensive answer is a larger unit. An Aangan at ₹25,999 or a Meenar at ₹38,500 will genuinely hold a large volume, and for a gallery that is the customer's first and strongest impression of a project it can be the right purchase. The better answer, more often, is to stop trying to scent the atrium. An entrance atrium is circulation: customers cross it in fifteen seconds and then sit down somewhere else. The rooms that repay scenting are the ones people occupy - the lounge, the model room, the sample apartment, the closing rooms - and each of those is a contained volume a Vaayu at ₹11,999 handles properly. Three Vaayus in three rooms will outperform one large machine in a tall hall, and cost less. Before either: check whether the entrance is genuinely enclosed. If the doors stand open to the forecourt for site visits, no product holds fragrance there at any output, and that is a door-management question rather than a machine question. SOSA makes no claim that scenting a sales gallery affects enquiries, walk-ins or closings. Fragrance is an ambience decision and never a substitute for ventilation, cleaning or source control. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
One line: measure the height, then decide whether the atrium is worth scenting at all.
Three contained rooms at ₹11,999 each will beat one large machine in a tall hall, and cost less. Fragrance from ₹299.

Why the floor plan misled you

Developers usually arrive at this question having already bought a machine, which is why the first thing worth checking is the arithmetic rather than the equipment.

Why this works
How to size a gallery properly
1 Measure the volume - floor area multiplied by actual ceiling height, per room 2 List which rooms customers occupy rather than cross, and rank them by minutes spent 3 Check whether the entrance encloses at all during site visits, when doors stay open 4 Specify per occupied room, not per building - and leave circulation unscented
Sales galleries are sized by air volume, not floor plan: the SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 for a contained room, Aangan at ₹25,999 for a floor, Meenar at ₹38,500 for very large volumes. Fragrance from ₹299.
01
Volume, not area
Twenty feet is not eight feet
The same floor plan at twenty feet holds roughly two and a half times the air it holds at eight. Every coverage figure in this category is a volume figure, and reading it as a floor-area figure is the commonest specification error in galleries - which is also why the mistake is so consistent across otherwise careful developers.
Tip: The plan tells you the floor. It does not tell you the room.
02
The stack effect
Glass, sun, and air that goes up
Solar gain warms the air along a glazed facade, warm air rises, and a tall space develops a continuous upward current. Vapour released at ground level travels up with it, away from every person in the room, and the harder the air conditioning works against the same solar load, the more air changes it drives.
Tip: The fragrance is not vanishing. It is going up.
03
Circulation against occupation
Nobody stands in an atrium
Customers cross an entrance hall in fifteen seconds and then sit somewhere for forty minutes. Scenting the crossing and not the sitting is the wrong way round, and three contained rooms at ₹11,999 each will do more than one large unit in the hall, for less money.
Tip: Scent where they sit, not where they walk.
The SOSA principle
A gallery is not one room. It is a tall hall nobody occupies and three rooms where the decision actually happens.
Which is a specification problem, not a machine problem.

What to scent instead

In a glazed gallery the register should be restrained and cool rather than warm, because a sunlit glass space already reads as warm and a heavy fragrance compounds it.

The SOSA commercial range

Whatever the space, the method is the same: find the source of any smell and fix it, draw the air volume rather than the floor plan, write down which zones stay unscented, then set a low intensity and a schedule. Every SOSA fragrance is alcohol-free and made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Here is the range by the size of space it is honestly built for.

The SOSA commercial range

SOSA Meenar Hotels, large showrooms, venues, corporate floors The largest machine in the range, specified for roughly 12,000 to 18,000 sq ft ₹38,500
Hotel Collection fragrance The fragrance the machines actually run on Seven scents, 15ml / 100ml / 300ml. SOSA's own interpretations; SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand from ₹299
Honest notes for developers: fragrance is an ambience decision only and is never a substitute for ventilation, cleaning or source control. Construction dust, curing paint, adhesives, laminates and new-material off-gassing are resolved by ventilation and time rather than by fragrance, and a scent introduced over them masks a condition instead of finishing it. Ceiling height and glazing materially change air volume and thermal behaviour, so galleries are sized from the section drawing rather than the floor plan. Sample apartments are specified as neutral. SOSA makes no claim that ambient scenting increases footfall, enquiries, conversion, retention, referrals, transaction value or customer spend, and no such claim should be made on the strength of this guide. Where association language is used it is descriptive of ordinary experience - people come to associate a place with how it feels - and is not a commercial performance claim. Ultrasonic diffusers and the machines run on the Hotel Collection fragrance; reed diffusers use their own alcohol-free reed oil, and the two are not interchangeable. The Hotel Collection scents are SOSA's own interpretations inspired by the world's finest hotels; SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with any hotel brand. SOSA's fragrances are made in India; the scent machines are imported. Listed prices are store prices and are subject to change. SOSA's paid on-site walkthrough is ₹1,500 and is Pune only - everywhere else, sizing is done remotely over WhatsApp from your own measurements. A note from Sonal

A luxury sales gallery is the only commercial space I work on where the customer walks a defined route through five different rooms in one visit. Reception, models, sample apartment, closing room, and the walk between them. Most scenting proposals treat that as one space with one setting, and it is not - it is one register applied at descending levels, with one of those rooms deliberately left out.

The room people always want to scent most is the sample apartment, and it is the one I argue hardest against. A show home succeeds when a buyer stops seeing a display and starts placing their own furniture in it, and a recognisable developer fragrance interrupts exactly that. Let it smell clean and aired, or of nothing.

On the money question, which developers ask more directly than anybody else: I have no figure for what ambience returns on a crore-value sale, and I distrust anyone who offers one. This is a brand-standard decision - the same category as your lighting specification and your signage - and it should be judged that way. Fragrance is never a substitute for ventilation, cleaning or source control. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531. A part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

Why does fragrance vanish in a double-height gallery?
Because coverage follows air volume, not floor area. A twenty-foot atrium holds roughly two and a half times the air of the same plan at eight feet.
Does a glass facade make it worse?
Yes. Solar gain warms air near the glass, warm air rises, and vapour travels upward away from people at ground level.
Should I just buy a bigger machine?
Often not. Scenting the contained rooms customers occupy usually costs less and works better than scenting the hall they cross.
What if the entrance doors stay open during site visits?
Then nothing holds fragrance there at any output. That is a door-management question rather than a machine question.
Will this affect how many buyers we close?
SOSA makes no claim that scenting affects enquiries, walk-ins or closings, and no such claim should appear in your marketing. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.
