Founder Diaries · Reed Diffuser & Home Fragrance Gifting

There is a clean reason personal fragrance resists standardising and a household object does not, and it is worth stating plainly. A worn thing has to match a person. A placed thing only has to match a room. Your list spans industries, ages, cities and every kind of dress code - but a home has no industry. Everybody on that list has rooms. That is the whole argument for a ₹1,498 to ₹1,598 duo set as a standard gift, and there is one honest caveat about what you standardise on that most pages will not tell you.
SOSA Day and Night reed diffuser duo gift set, two 50ml bottles, Rs 1,498
SOSA Day & Night reed duo · two 50ml bottles, one box ₹1,498 →
The quietest of the three pairings and the cheapest. SOSA Day & Night, ₹1,498 for two 50ml bottles - Morning Freshness lemon-mint with Evening Calm lavender-chamomile, about 6 to 10 weeks each, one box, nothing to plug in. Worth knowing before you make it a standard: Evening Calm is the one scent with no refill published.
Quick answers — read this first
Why is personal fragrance hard to standardise across clients? Because it has to fit a person. An attar or a perfume assumes you know what somebody already wears, what their skin does with it and what is acceptable in their workplace - and those things vary by person, by sector and by city. A reed diffuser is placed in a room instead, and a room has no dress code.

Can one home-fragrance gift work for a whole client list? Better than most alternatives, because the unit is a room rather than a person. A 50ml duo set at ₹1,498 to ₹1,598 is two bottles in one box, each running about 6 to 10 weeks. The honest caveat: no pairing is universally liked, and some homes are already scented by their owner's own choice.

Should we standardise on one named set every year? Standardise on the format rather than on the name. SOSA publishes three fixed pairings and publishes no commitment that those three persist, so building a repeating programme around one named set carries a risk that building it around a 50ml duo set does not. Confirm what exists before each round on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531.
The short answer
Short answer: Yes, more easily than personal fragrance can. A worn gift has to match a person's taste, skin and workplace, all of which vary by industry. A placed gift only has to match a room, and a home has no industry. A SOSA 50ml duo set is Rs 1,498 to Rs 1,598 for two bottles in one box. Standardise on the format rather than one named set, because SOSA publishes no commitment that the three pairings persist.
The pick: A 50ml duo set at ₹1,498 to ₹1,598 as your standard. Fresh & Grounded at ₹1,548 is the least sweet and least floral, which is the sensible default across a list you cannot know in detail.
Why: The unit is a room rather than a person, so it carries no assumption about anybody's body, sector or dress code, and the three sets sit within Rs 100 of each other if you ever need to vary them.
Sending something when somebody is having a hard time - at a glanceKeep it small - candle ₹399, attar ₹379, car scent ₹449For their home - reed diffuser ₹749, nothing to switch onSay the words yourself - no card goes in the parcelNever - a parcel instead of turning up
A gift cannot change how somebody's week went, and a page that suggests otherwise is not worth reading. What a small parcel does is tell a person you were thinking about them on a day when nothing made you - which is a real thing to say, and worth saying. Keep it small, because a large one asks somebody already short of energy to produce a reaction, and send the words separately, because the object cannot carry them.
Straight answer
Can one home-fragrance gift be standardised across clients in completely different industries?
It can, and the reason is structural rather than a matter of taste. Everything you could send divides into things that are worn and things that are placed, and only one of those two can be standardised. A worn thing has to fit a person: a perfume assumes you know what they already wear and what their skin does with it, a garment assumes a size and a colour sense, and both assumptions change with sector, age, city and how formal their working life is. That is exactly the variation you described, and no single product resolves it. A placed thing has a much smaller job. It has to fit a room. And a home has no industry. A partner at a law firm, a plant manager and somebody who runs a design studio have almost nothing in common professionally and all three have a hallway, a bedroom and somewhere they sit in the evening. A Day & Night duo at ₹1,498, Fresh & Grounded at ₹1,548 or Warmth & Bloom at ₹1,598 is two 50ml bottles in one box, each running about 6 to 10 weeks, needing no flame, no socket and no water. The recipient's sector never enters the calculation. Now the honest caveats, because there are two and they both matter. No pairing is universally liked. Standardising means the same scent goes into forty different homes, several of which already smell of something their owner chose deliberately, and a household object is easy to move to another room but it is not invisible. And the second one, which is specific and checkable: SOSA publishes no commitment that the three pairings continue to exist. Three sets are published today and they are fixed pairings, not composed to order. If you build an annual gifting habit around the name Day and Night, you have taken on a risk that building it around a 50ml duo set does not carry. Standardise on the format, confirm what is published before each round, and settle anything about quantity on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 - there is no bulk rate, no minimum order quantity and no volume discount published anywhere. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The reason your list feels unstandardisable is that you have been looking at the recipients. Look at what the gift has to fit instead - a person varies, a room does not.
The standard that works across a mixed list: a 50ml duo set at ₹1,498 to ₹1,598 - two rooms, one box, no assumption about anybody. Standardise on the format rather than on one named pairing.
Reed duo sets from ₹1,498

Why one object standardises and another cannot, and what you are really fixing

Three things settle this, and the third is the one that gets skipped. The first explains why the problem exists at all, the second explains why a household object escapes it, and the third is about what you are actually committing to when you say the word standard.

1
Why the problem exists
A worn gift has to fit a person, and people are the variable
Set out what a personal fragrance gift actually assumes, because written down it is a long list. It assumes you know what the recipient currently wears. It assumes their skin does something predictable with the notes you chose. It assumes their workplace tolerates fragrance at all, which some do not. It assumes a register - floral, woody, sweet - that maps onto how they present themselves. And it assumes none of that has changed since the last time you were in a room with them.

Across one client you can sometimes clear those hurdles. Across a list that spans industries you cannot, and the failure is not evenly distributed: it is worse for the people you know least well, which tends to be the newer relationships you most wanted the gift to acknowledge.

SOSA attars from ₹379 are a genuine gift and an honest illustration of the limit. They are alcohol-free, they are worn on skin, and they are a taste decision made on somebody else's behalf. If you cannot say out loud what a person already wears, an attar is a guess, and twenty guesses is a programme built on guessing.

The clothing, accessory and desk-object categories all fail the same way for the same reason. They are about the person.
Tip: Every worn gift assumes something about a body. Across a mixed list, that assumption fails hardest where you know least.
2
Why a household object escapes it
A home has no industry. Everybody on the list has rooms
This is the whole argument and it is a short one. A reed diffuser is placed, not worn. It goes on a console table, a bedside, a hallway shelf. The decision it embodies is about a room, and a room is the most standard thing your entire client list has in common.

Sector does not enter it. Neither does dress code, seniority, age, or whether somebody's office bans fragrance. A person in manufacturing and a person in advertising both come home to somewhere with doors and surfaces. The gift lands in the same place in both lives.

Two rooms rather than one is where the duo comes in, and it is worth being precise: a duo is a second room, not a bigger gift for the same room. The 50ml duo at ₹1,498 to ₹1,598 is two small-to-medium rooms, a bedroom and a study, a hallway and a guest room. The 130ml duo at ₹2,498 to ₹2,598 is two genuinely large rooms. Across a standardised list you will not know which homes are large, and that is an argument for the 50ml set rather than the expensive one: two 130ml bottles in two small closed rooms both end up moved into a corridor, which is a worse outcome than the cheaper set would have produced.

It also asks nothing of anybody. No flame, no socket, no water, nothing to switch off. That matters when the same object is going to forty households with forty different levels of interest in it.
3
What you are standardising on
The format is safe to commit to. A named set is not
Here is the part that a page written to sell you something would leave out.

There are three published duo sets and the pairings are fixed: Day & Night at ₹1,498, Fresh & Grounded at ₹1,548, Warmth & Bloom at ₹1,598. No set is composed to order, there is no three-bottle set, and any other combination is two separate bottles rather than a box. Those three are what exists today.

SOSA publishes no commitment that those three pairings persist. No page says a set is permanent, and no page says it is seasonal either - the honest position is that nothing is published on the question at all. So if your plan is every year, every client gets the Day and Night duo, you have attached a recurring internal process to a specific item name. If your plan is every year, every client gets a 50ml duo set, you have attached it to a format, and the format is far more likely to survive contact with next year.

Practically: write the standard down as a format and a band - two 50ml bottles in one box, ₹1,498 to ₹1,598 - and confirm what is published before each round on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531. That confirmation costs one message. Note too that no recurring-supply programme, standing order or annual agreement is published anywhere, so a repeating habit is something you run at your end rather than something SOSA operates for you.
Tip: Standardise on two 50ml bottles in one box. Do not standardise on a name nobody has promised will still be there.
SOSA Fresh and Grounded reed diffuser duo gift set, Rs 1,548
The idea this whole question turns on
A duo is a second room, not a bigger gift for the same room
The 50ml duo sets are ₹1,498, ₹1,548 and ₹1,598 for two 50ml bottles - which is two small-to-medium rooms, not one room handled twice as hard. The 130ml duos at ₹2,498 to ₹2,598 are two large rooms. So the question to answer before the price is how many rooms you actually want handled, and how big they are. Somebody in a one-bedroom flat who spends every evening in the living room does not need a second bottle; somebody who has just taken possession of a 3BHK where every room smells of paint does.

Work it out in this order
Setting a standard client gift across mixed industries
  1. Rule out anything worn. It has to fit a person, and people are what varies.
  2. Choose a placed object. A home has no industry and everybody on the list has rooms.
  3. Set the standard as a format: a 50ml duo, two bottles, Rs 1,498 to Rs 1,598.
  4. Confirm what is published before each round, since no pairing is promised to persist.
The SOSA principle
Standardisation fails when the gift has to match the recipient and succeeds when it only has to match a room. That is not a fact about fragrance; it is a fact about which half of the gift catalogue is worn and which half is placed.
It also explains why the same logic holds for a list of five and a list of fifty: the number of recipients never enters the argument, only what the object has to fit.

Standardising on a format rather than on a name

If one pairing is going to every home on your list, pick it for exposure rather than for charm. Fresh & Grounded at ₹1,548 pairs Morning Freshness, Malabar lemon and mint, with Mountain Breeze, Himalayan pine, sage and cedar: dry and green, the least sweet and the least floral of the three, and the sensible default when the homes are unknown to you. Day & Night at ₹1,498 pairs the same lemon-mint with Evening Calm, lavender and chamomile, the two least declarative scents in the range. Warmth & Bloom at ₹1,598 pairs Fresh Brew, Coorg coffee and Kerala vanilla, with Garden Bloom, British rose and night-blooming jasmine - the most declarative and the one that most reads as chosen, which is a virtue for one person and a bigger bet across a list. None of them is universally liked. There is also a useful detail if you ever need two different sets at matched value: the three span only ₹100, but Day and Night and Fresh and Grounded both contain Morning Freshness, so the tempting ₹50-apart pair is half the same scent. The genuinely distinct matched pair is Fresh & Grounded at ₹1,548 with Warmth & Bloom at ₹1,598 - ₹50 apart with no bottle in common. Evening Calm is a name on a bottle of lavender and chamomile and describes nothing but its contents.

The SOSA gift edit
Four candidates for a standard client gift, and how each one scales
The option Who it suits, and where it fails
An attar or perfume · from ₹379 Lovely for one person whose taste you can name. It does not scale, because it has to fit a body, a workplace norm and an existing wardrobe of scent, and those vary exactly where your list varies. The recipients you know least well are the ones it fails for most, which inverts what you wanted the gift to do.
Food or a large assembled gift box · any budget It scales easily, which is why everybody does it, and that is its problem: in a heavy gifting season the same client receives several and they arrive interchangeable. Dietary restrictions, household size and simple duplication all bite. It also expires, so the gift has a short life and no second room to go to.
A 50ml duo set · ₹1,498 to ₹1,598 Two bottles in one box, two rooms handled, no flame, socket or water, and no assumption about the recipient at all. The standard this page recommends. It fails if you commit to one named pairing long-term, because no page publishes any promise that the three sets persist.
A 130ml duo set · ₹2,498 to ₹2,598 The same three pairings in the large bottle, for two genuinely large rooms. It is the wrong standard for a mixed list precisely because it needs knowledge you do not have about forty homes. Two large bottles in two small closed rooms both get moved, and you paid a thousand rupees more to cause it.
SOSA Warmth and Bloom reed diffuser duo gift set, Rs 1,598
The three pairings, and the one trade inside them
Three sets exist, the pairings are fixed, and one of them has no refill path
Day & Night ₹1,498 is lemon-mint with lavender-chamomile. Fresh & Grounded ₹1,548 is lemon-mint with pine, sage and cedar - the least sweet and the least floral of the three. Warmth & Bloom ₹1,598 is coffee-vanilla with rose and night jasmine, the most declarative. A set cannot be composed to order, so any other pairing is two separate bottles rather than a box. And one real trade: refills at ₹2,399 and ₹3,499 are published for four of the five scents, but not for Evening Calm - which is half of the cheapest set.
Compare the three duo sets →

Three practical notes. First, the published ladder, so your internal figure has something to sit against: one 50ml ₹749 to ₹849, one 130ml ₹1,249 to ₹1,349, a 50ml duo ₹1,498 to ₹1,598, then no reed diffuser and no duo set is published between ₹1,598 and ₹2,398, then a 130ml duo ₹2,498 to ₹2,598. A standard of about two thousand rupees is met by the 50ml duo coming in under it rather than by stretching upward. Second, Refills at ₹2,399 for 300ml and ₹3,499 for 500ml cover four of the five scents and Evening Calm publishes none; Evening Calm is half of the ₹1,498 Day & Night set, so the cheapest standard is the one whose second bottle has no published continuation. Third, the commercial position: SOSA publishes no bulk rate, no minimum order quantity, no volume discount, no lead time and no payment terms, and no recurring-supply programme or standing order exists. Bulk orders are welcome and everything about quantity is settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531. The only branding available anywhere is a custom label or logo on product.

When the answer is a machine rather than more bottles
A bottle asks nothing. A machine asks for water, power and attention every week
Two reed diffusers cover two rooms. Nothing in the reed range covers a whole home, and no square-footage rating is published for any of them. If a home genuinely needs more than rooms handled one at a time, that is a machine question. Sukoon at ₹1,899 and Boond at ₹899 are ultrasonic cool-mist machines running the water-based Hotel Collection from ₹299 - they need water, a socket and refilling, which is a real ask of somebody who did not choose them. SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 is the waterless one: cold-air nebulising of undiluted oil, rated for approximately 1000 m3 of connected air, with a Bluetooth app and timer, a 400ml tank, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, DC 12V / 1A 5W mains power and CE, RoHS and SGS marks. That rating assumes one connected body of air, so a Vaayu suits a large open home or a business and is the wrong gift for a three-bedroom flat with every door closed. Vaayu runs waterless nebuliser oil at ₹1,049 for 100 gm and ₹1,849 for 300 gm and never takes the ₹299 water-based bottle. All of it adds a scent to a space; none of it removes one.

A client list has no common denominator except this: every person on it goes home at night to somewhere with rooms in it. That is the only thing you can safely design a standard gift around.

The SOSA gifting range

Two questions settle almost every reed diffuser gift, and the first one is not price. How big is the room it is going into? A 50ml suits a bedroom, a study, a hallway or a first diffuser; a 130ml suits an open-plan living and dining area, and it is genuinely too much for a small closed bedroom. Then: how much do you actually know about their taste? The less you know, the less declarative the scent should be - Morning Freshness is the safest of the five for a home you have never stood in, and Fresh Brew coffee-vanilla is the strongest opinion in the range. Price follows those two answers rather than leading them.

The SOSA home fragrance ladder
A duo is two rooms, not a bigger gift for one room - decide by the rooms first

SOSA reed duo sets, 50ml x 2 Two 50ml bottles in one box Day & Night ₹1,498, Fresh & Grounded ₹1,548, Warmth & Bloom ₹1,598 - two small-to-medium rooms, and already a box with nothing to assemble from ₹1,498
SOSA reed duo sets, 130ml x 2 The same three pairings, larger ₹2,498, ₹2,548 and ₹2,598 - for two genuinely large rooms, and too much for two small closed bedrooms from ₹2,498
A single 50ml reed diffuser One small or medium room ₹749 to ₹849, about 6 to 10 weeks - a bedroom, a study, a hallway, or anybody receiving their first diffuser from ₹749
A single 130ml reed diffuser One large room ₹1,249 to ₹1,349 - an open-plan living and dining area, and the wrong choice for a small closed bedroom from ₹1,249
SOSA reed refills 300ml and 500ml ₹2,399 and ₹3,499, published for four of the five scents - Evening Calm publishes none, which matters if the gift was the Day & Night duo ₹2,399 / ₹3,499
SOSA Sukoon Ultrasonic cool-mist machine ₹1,899 plus water-based Hotel Collection fragrance from ₹299 - a machine asks for water and power every week, which a bottle never does ₹1,899
SOSA Vaayu Waterless cold-air machine Approximately 1000 m3 of connected air with a Bluetooth app and timer - a large open home or a business, not a flat with every door shut ₹11,999

There are three duo sets and only three, and the pairings are fixed - a set cannot be composed to order, so any other pairing is simply two separate bottles. There is no three-bottle or four-bottle set, and SOSA has no hamper, gift box, wrapping, ribbon or message-card service; the only branding available anywhere is a custom label or logo on product. All five reeds run about 6 to 10 weeks, which is the only duration SOSA publishes, and no square-footage rating is published for any reed. Prices above are published retail prices; bulk orders are welcome and quantities are settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 rather than priced on a page. SOSA is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune and sends orders across India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

The honest price sheet
The published ladder, including the gap in it
Everything below is on the live product pages. Anything not on this list is not something a page like this should state.
  • One 50ml reed - Morning Freshness ₹749, Garden Bloom and Evening Calm ₹799, Mountain Breeze and Fresh Brew ₹849. One 130ml reed - ₹1,249 to ₹1,349. All five run about 6 to 10 weeks in either size, because the larger bottle is for a larger room and not for a longer life.
  • The three duo sets - Day & Night ₹1,498, Fresh & Grounded ₹1,548 and Warmth & Bloom ₹1,598 as two 50ml bottles; ₹2,498, ₹2,548 and ₹2,598 as two 130ml bottles. These three pairings are the whole set range - a set is not composed to order, and there is no three-bottle or four-bottle set.
  • The gap worth knowing about - the ladder runs one 50ml ₹749, one 130ml ₹1,249, a 50ml duo ₹1,498, then no reed diffuser and no duo set published between ₹1,598 and ₹2,398 (the ₹1,899 Sukoon machine sits in that band, but it is a machine and not a bottle), then a 130ml duo ₹2,498. A budget of about ₹2,000 is therefore answered by the 50ml duo coming in under it, not by stretching to the larger set - the larger set is a room-size decision.
  • Refills - 300ml ₹2,399 and 500ml ₹3,499, published for four of the five scents. Evening Calm publishes no refill, and Evening Calm is one of the two bottles in the ₹1,498 Day & Night duo - so the cheapest set is the one whose second bottle has no published continuation.
  • Machines, if rooms are not the unit - Boond ₹899 and Sukoon ₹1,899 run the water-based Hotel Collection from ₹299 and need water, power and refilling. Vaayu ₹11,999 is waterless, rated for approximately 1000 m3 of connected air. Megh ₹5,999.
  • Not published, and therefore never stated here: any square-footage or room-volume rating for a reed diffuser, any duration other than about 6 to 10 weeks, how often reeds should be turned, any bulk rate, minimum order quantity, slab or volume discount, any dispatch or delivery timing, any case pack or carton size, any claim about how a recipient will feel, and any claim that a gift changes a business result. Those go to WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.

A note from Sonal

The question I get most often about the duo sets is not about scent. It is a slightly embarrassed version of: will one bottle look cheap? And I understand it, because a single 50ml reed in a box is a small object to hand to somebody whose house you have just walked into for the first time.

But the honest answer is that a duo is not a bigger gift. It is a second room. That is the whole difference, and it is a much more useful way to think about it than price. If the person you are buying for lives in a one-bedroom flat and spends their evenings in the living room, the second bottle does not make the gift better - it makes the gift into something they have to find a home for. If they have just moved into a 3BHK and every room smells of paint, the second bottle is the point.

Where I would push back hardest is on the 130ml duo. People reach for it because it is the most expensive thing in the reed range and it feels like the safest way to be generous. The 130ml is the large room's bottle, not the better bottle. Two of them in two small closed bedrooms is not a generous gift; it is two rooms nobody wants to sit in. A 50ml duo at ₹1,498 in the right two rooms beats a 130ml duo at ₹2,498 in the wrong two, every single time.

And the part I will not pretend about: there are three pairings and they are fixed. I cannot put Garden Bloom and Evening Calm in a box for you. If that is the combination you want, it is two bottles rather than a set, and it is worth knowing that before you decide whether the box mattered to you in the first place.

Frequently asked questions

Why is personal fragrance difficult to standardise across a client list?
Because a worn scent has to fit a person. It assumes you know what they already wear, what their skin does with it and whether their workplace accepts fragrance, and all three vary by sector, age and city. A placed object only has to fit a room, and rooms are the one thing every client on your list has in common.
Does one home-fragrance set really suit clients in different industries?
A home has no industry, which is the whole argument. A reed diffuser goes into a hallway or a bedroom, and a lawyer's hallway and a plant manager's hallway are the same kind of place. A SOSA 50ml duo set is Rs 1,498 to Rs 1,598 for two bottles, about 6 to 10 weeks each, with no flame, socket or water needed.
Is it safe to use the same named set every year?
Standardise on the format rather than the name. Three pairings are published today at Rs 1,498, Rs 1,548 and Rs 1,598, and SOSA publishes no commitment that those three continue to exist. Writing your standard as a 50ml duo set of two bottles carries less risk than writing it as one named pairing, and one message before each round confirms what is published.
Is any pairing liked by everybody?
No, and nobody should tell you otherwise. Fresh and Grounded at Rs 1,548 is the least sweet and the least floral of the three, which makes it the easiest to send into homes you have never been inside, but that is a statement about exposure and not about universal appeal. Some homes are already scented by their owner's own choice.
What is settled with SOSA directly rather than on this page?
Anything commercial. SOSA publishes no bulk rate, no minimum order quantity, no volume discount, no lead time and no payment terms, and no recurring-supply programme exists. The retail prices here are public and you can multiply them yourself. Bulk orders are welcome and quantities are settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531.

About commercial terms: the prices above are published retail prices. SOSA publishes no bulk or wholesale rate, no minimum order quantity, no volume slab or discount, no dispatch or delivery window, no order cut-off, no payment or credit term, no rate card, no case pack, no carton size and no unit weight, and none is stated anywhere on this page; bulk orders are welcome and are discussed on WhatsApp. The only branding available is a custom label or logo on product - there is no custom box, printed sleeve, insert card, gift wrap, ribbon, message card or hamper service. There is no dealer, partner or reseller programme. About SOSA's location: SOSA Home & Body is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, Maharashtra, and sends orders across India. SOSA has no shop, showroom, stockist, counter or warehouse in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mysuru or any other city, and nothing on this page should be read as claiming one; where a city is named, it refers to the homes and the buyers in that city and nothing more. Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent and does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify odour, and no SOSA product makes any health, antibacterial, air-purifying or wellbeing claim. No claim is made anywhere on this page about mood, stress, calm, sleep, comfort or wellbeing: fragrance is a scent, not a treatment, and where a product name contains a word such as Calm that is a name and not an effect. No claim is made about how any recipient will feel about a gift, and no claim is made that a gift changes any business result - not a satisfaction score, repeat business, referrals, reviews, retention or recall. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
