Consistency across floors is worth having and it is not what most people mean by it. The floors should not feel the same.
Quick answers — read this first
How do I keep three floors consistent? Use one register on every floor and let the levels differ. Consistency of fragrance family is achievable and worth having; consistency of intensity is neither.

Why should the levels differ? Because the floors do different jobs. A living floor handles arrivals and hosting, while a bedroom floor is long-dwell space where everybody adapts and nobody can leave the room.

What happens if floors have different scents? They meet in the stairwell and produce a third register nobody chose, usually muddier than either, and the transitions are what people actually experience.
The short answer
Short answer: One register on every floor, and let the levels differ. Same family is achievable; same intensity is not, and should not be.
The pick: the SOSA Safar (₹3,999) as the flagship delivery gift; volume gifts from ₹299; reed diffusers from ₹749; the Vaayu (₹11,999) for your own premises.
Planning volumes? WhatsApp +91 96192 18531 - tell us the customer moment, per-unit band and quantity and we will quote and build the programme.
Customer gifting that compounds - the SOSA method at a glanceStep 1 - gift the moment: delivery day, possession, checkout, milestone purchaseStep 2 - set the per-unit band: ₹299 to ₹3,999 by customer valueStep 3 - brand the gesture: your card, your story, our fragranceStep 4 - pilot small, then scale to 50, 100, 500 unitsWhatsApp the bulk desk for volume pricing
A customer gift works when it survives the drive home - sweets vanish in a day and keychains join a drawer, but a fragrance is used daily in the customer's own car or living room, replaying your brand at every use. The method: gift the milestone moment, set the per-unit band by customer value, brand the gesture with your card, pilot and scale. This guide walks the exact play, with real SOSA options at every band.
Straight answer
How do you fragrance three floors consistently?
There are two things people mean by consistency here, and only one of them is worth chasing. Consistent register means the same fragrance family everywhere in the house. Consistent level means the same intensity on every floor. The first is achievable and valuable. The second is neither. Chase register. Air moves between floors through the stairwell in some direction most of the time, so two different scents will meet in that column and produce a third that nobody chose, usually muddier than either - and because people move between floors constantly, the transitions are what they actually experience. So use one register in every machine and every bottle in the house, and keep it for years, because a home becomes recognisable through repetition rather than emphasis. Do not chase level, because the floors do different jobs. A living floor handles arrivals, guests and hosting - short exposure, high perception - and wants a modest present level, built before people arrive. A bedroom floor is long-dwell space where everybody adapts within the hour and nobody can leave the room, and it wants the lightest presence in the house. Making those equal means raising the bedroom floor until it matches the hall, which is the wrong direction on every count. Same family. Different intensities. That is a consistent house. Reeds from ₹749, fragrance from ₹299. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.

Consistent register, not consistent level

Consistency across floors is a real goal and it is worth separating into two things that get confused, because one of them is valuable and achievable while the other is neither. The first is consistency of register: the same fragrance family in every source in the house. The second is consistency of level: the same perceived intensity on every floor. Chase the first. There are two reasons and they compound. The architectural one is that air moves between floors through the stairwell more or less constantly, in a direction that depends on the temperature difference between them - which itself changes with roof heat, air conditioning and open windows. Because something is moving between the levels most of the time, two different registers placed on two floors will meet somewhere in that vertical column and combine into a third that nobody selected. Fragrances are composed carefully, and two good compositions overlapping do not produce a better one; they usually produce something muddier than either. The perceptual reason is more important. In a multi-storey home, people are constantly in transition - up to a bedroom, down for dinner, up again. They are not experiencing each floor freshly, because adaptation does not reset in the thirty seconds it takes to climb a flight of stairs. What they experience is the transition itself, which means the collisions are the experience. In a house with one register throughout, those transitions read as nothing at all, which is exactly right: the house simply is a certain way. Choose one register you would be content to be known for, use it in every machine and every bottle, and keep it for years, because a home becomes recognisable through repetition rather than emphasis, in the way handwriting does. Now do not chase the second, and this is the part that needs saying plainly, because uniform intensity sounds like the definition of a well-done job. The floors of a house do different jobs. A living floor handles arrivals, guests and hosting: exposure is short, perception is high because arrival is the only moment anybody experiences a house with an unadapted nose, and a modest level built shortly before people come home delivers essentially the whole value of the layer. A bedroom floor is the opposite: exposure is long, adaptation is complete within about an hour, and additional material buys the occupant nothing while continuing to accumulate in bedding and curtains. And bedrooms are rooms people cannot leave, so anybody sleeping in a register they did not choose should have the lightest presence in the house and a source they can move, cap or take out of the room without asking anybody. Making those two floors equal in intensity therefore means raising the bedroom floor until it matches the hall, which is wrong on cost, wrong on comfort for the people who spend the most time there, and wrong on consent. And because everybody living in the house has adapted, nobody in it will detect the result; only visitors will, in the first few seconds, and they will not mention it. So the correct picture is one register and a deliberate gradient. Most at the entrance into whichever floor people actually arrive on - in a three-storey house that may be the first floor rather than the street door, if the ground floor is parking and utility. Modest on the living floor, from a machine if the closed-door walk qualifies one, or from a bottle if it does not. Lightest on the bedroom floor, from reeds only. Nothing in the kitchen at any time, nothing at the dining table during a meal, nothing in children's rooms, and nothing on a terrace, which cannot hold fragrance at all. Two practical notes for keeping a register consistent in a multi-storey house. The two delivery systems are different media: the Hotel Collection is a water-based fragrance for ultrasonic diffusers and reed oil is an alcohol-free oil drawn up a reed. They are not interchangeable in either direction, and reed oil can damage a diffuser, so match them by family deliberately rather than assuming they agree. And a multi-storey home has more places for an unchosen second register to creep in - scented floor cleaner used on the stairs, detergent on every curtain, a gift candle on one landing. Moving to unscented cleaning products does more for consistency than any purchase.

Why this works
The distinction that matters
1 Consistent register: the same fragrance family everywhere 2 Consistent level: the same intensity everywhere 3 The first is worth chasing. The second is not achievable 4 And it should not be, because the floors do different jobs
The flagship delivery gift: the SOSA Safar at ₹3,999 - a rechargeable waterless car diffuser with three hotel-inspired scents in the box. Per-unit gifts from ₹299; volume pricing on WhatsApp.
01
Chase the register, not the level
One is achievable and valuable. One is neither
Air moves between floors most of the time, so two registers meet in the stairwell and produce a third nobody chose. And people are constantly in transition, so the collisions are the experience.
Tip: With one register, transitions read as nothing at all.
02
The floors do different jobs
Arrivals below, long dwell above
A living floor wants a modest level built before people arrive. A bedroom floor wants the lightest presence in the house, because everybody adapts within the hour and nobody can leave the room.
03
Equal intensity means raising the wrong floor
Wrong on cost, comfort and consent
Matching the bedroom floor to the hall makes the private half unpleasant for the people who spend most time there, and nobody living in the house will detect it because everybody has adapted.
Tip: Match the two media by family. They are not interchangeable.
The SOSA principle
People do not experience each floor freshly. Adaptation does not reset in a flight of stairs.
So the transitions are the experience. Keep one register.

What consistency actually means vertically

What consistency actually means vertically. One register in every machine and every bottle in the house, kept for years: choose it once and match the two delivery systems by family deliberately, since Hotel Collection at Rs 299 for 15ml, Rs 999 for 100ml and Rs 1,799 for 300ml is a water-based fragrance for ultrasonic diffusers while reed oil is an alcohol-free oil drawn up a reed, and the two are not interchangeable in either direction - reed oil can damage a diffuser. Then a deliberate gradient rather than a uniform level. Most at the entrance into whichever floor people actually arrive on, which in a three-storey house may be the first floor rather than the street door: a reed diffuser or the SOSA Boond at Rs 799, permanent rather than scheduled. Modest on the living floor: the SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999 if the closed-door walk on that floor shows it genuinely open, the SOSA Megh at Rs 3,499 with a 6L tank if partly open, the SOSA Sukoon at Rs 1,799 for a compact hall, or simply another reed. Lightest on the bedroom floor, from reeds only: one per bedroom at the lightest level in the home, from a source the occupant can move, cap or take out of the room without asking anybody, plus one per bathroom and one on the landing - Morning Freshness at Rs 749, Garden Bloom at Rs 799, Evening Calm at Rs 799, Fresh Brew at Rs 849, Mountain Breeze at Rs 849, three to four months per bottle, refills at Rs 2,399 for 300ml and Rs 3,499 for 500ml. Costing nothing and doing more for consistency than any purchase: unscented or low-scented floor cleaner, especially on the stairs, unscented detergent, and no gift candles from families other than the one you chose. Never scented: children's rooms, the kitchen at any time, the dining area during a meal, and terraces and covered balconies, which cannot hold fragrance. Everything is alcohol-free and made to IFRA-compliant standards.

The SOSA business gifting edit

Whatever your business gifts, the logic is the same: gift the milestone moment, set the per-unit band by customer value, keep the register gentle and crowd-safe, and brand the gesture with your card rather than your logo on the product. Every SOSA fragrance is alcohol-free and made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali - so every customer gift quietly gives twice. Here is the full business range by per-unit band.

Honest notes for business gifters: customer taste varies, so volume programmes should run gentle, crowd-tested registers - fresh, clean and lightly floral scents are received well across every profile, and space formats (diffusers, reeds, car fragrance) avoid the personal-taste risk of skin perfume entirely. Listed prices are per-unit store prices; volume pricing, pilot batches, branded cards and custom hamper builds are quoted on WhatsApp - and signature-scent development for your brand is a consultation with our perfumer, not an off-the-shelf item, so timelines are discussed case by case. The Hotel Collection scents are SOSA's own interpretations inspired by the world's finest hotels; SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house, not affiliated with any hotel brand. Ultrasonic diffusers use the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance; reed diffusers use their own alcohol-free reed oil - the two are not interchangeable. All personal fragrances are alcohol-free and IFRA-compliant. WhatsApp bulk desk: +91 96192 18531. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

ISIPCA
Versailles
A note from Sonal

Most customer gifts are bought to be handed over, not to be kept: the sweet box is finished by the family that evening, the keychain joins a drawer, the branded pen was never really a gift at all. Then the moment that cost your business lakhs to create - the new car, the new home, the big purchase - is remembered with nothing. A fragrance gift keeps that moment alive, because scent is the sense wired closest to memory: months later, your customer is still in the middle of the experience you gave them.

I trained at ISIPCA in Versailles and everything we make is built for Indian lives - car diffusers that survive a Mumbai summer, reed diffusers that hold through the monsoon, alcohol-free formulas safe to gift across every customer profile. If you run a dealership, a project, a hotel, a showroom or a team, message the bulk desk on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 - tell me the customer moment and the volumes, and I will help you design the programme myself. The business conversations are my favourite kind: one good gifting programme teaches me more about a category than a year of retail orders.

And a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali - so your customer gift quietly gives twice. That equation has always felt right to me.

Frequently asked questions

How do I keep three floors consistent?
Use one register on every floor and let the levels differ. Consistency of fragrance family is achievable and valuable; consistency of intensity is neither.
Why should the levels differ?
Because the floors do different jobs. A living floor handles arrivals and hosting; a bedroom floor is long-dwell space where everybody adapts and nobody can leave the room.
What happens with different scents per floor?
They meet in the stairwell and produce a third register nobody chose, and since people move between floors constantly, those collisions are what they actually experience.
Can I use the same fragrance in machines and reeds?
Not literally. They are different media and are not interchangeable, and reed oil can damage a diffuser. Match them by family instead.
What helps consistency for free?
Unscented cleaning products, especially on the stairs, and removing gift candles from families other than the one you chose. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.

About this guide: Written by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained founder and perfumer at SOSA Home & Body. Product recommendations reflect the SOSA range; the customer-gifting advice applies whatever your business finally buys.

Facts verified August 2026: Olfactory memory research shows scent-linked memories are unusually durable and emotionally vivid, which is why a used-daily fragrance gift sustains brand association in a way consumable or novelty gifts do not; customer-experience research consistently finds that peak moments (delivery, possession, checkout) disproportionately shape how the whole purchase is remembered. Fragrance preference is personal: volume gifting programmes should default to gentle fresh, green and lightly floral registers, and to space formats (diffusers, reeds, car fragrance) rather than skin perfume. SOSA range: Hotel Collection ultrasonic fragrance from Rs 299; car perfumes from Rs 449 (spray and hanging, alcohol-free); attars Nawaab, Ameeri, Mastani and Adaa from Rs 379 (3ml/6ml/12ml, alcohol-free); Attar Trio from Rs 1,055; perfumes from Rs 499; reed diffusers from Rs 749; Boond Rs 799, Sukoon Rs 1,799 and Megh Rs 3,499 ultrasonic diffusers; SOSA Safar waterless car and travel diffuser Rs 3,999 (rechargeable, three hotel-inspired scents included); SOSA Vaayu waterless scent machine Rs 11,999 (~1000m³, app + timer).
