Five thousand square feet is the first size in this cluster where I do not have to argue about the machine, and the last size where the machine is the interesting part. A 5,000 sq ft experience centre is one Angaan; everything worth thinking about is which duct it sits on, when it runs, and where the level is judged.
Quick answers — read this first
How should I scent a 5,000 sq ft premium appliance experience centre? With one SOSA Angaan (Rs 25,999), an HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, connected to an air-handling duct that serves the sales floor alone or wall-mounted standalone above the display line. A 5,000 sq ft centre holds about 1,400 cubic metres at a three-metre ceiling and 2,300 at five, inside one Angaan at every height. Programme trading hours with the live-kitchen and coffee-tasting windows cut out, set the level from the far corner for the staff who stand there all day, and leave it.

Why not a Vaayu, or two of them, at 5,000 sq ft? One Vaayu is rated to 1000m³ and a 5,000 sq ft floor holds at least 1,400; it would run at maximum and still leave the far end empty. Two Vaayus in one connected air make two gradients that overlap in a strong band and drift apart on two dials, and are rated to less volume between them than one Angaan. A Vaayu on a 5,000 sq ft site is only right for a separate volume - a mezzanine or wing with its own air-conditioning.

What has to stay unscented in a centre this size? The live kitchen, the oven and hob demo, the coffee-tasting counter and any home-theatre demo room while it runs. On an HVAC-connected machine that means the Angaan must sit on a duct that does not supply the demo kitchen, and the kitchen's own extraction runs during and after. If the only duct serves both, the Angaan is wall-mounted standalone on the reception side instead. Fragrance is an interiors decision like lighting or music - SOSA makes no claim that it changes dwell time, footfall or sales.
The short answer
Short answer: a 5,000 sq ft centre is one Angaan at any ceiling - 1,400 to 2,300m³ against a 3,000m³ rating - on a duct serving the sales floor alone, or standalone on the reception-side wall. Programme trading hours, cut out the demo windows, set from the far corner, lock it. Not a Vaayu, not two of anything.
The pick: one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) in the Mountain Breeze register - dry pine, sage and cedar - or lemon-mint for a white floor. A Vaayu (₹11,999) only if the site has a second volume with its own air, and only for that volume.
Next step: send the plan with the AHU zones, the supply and return grilles and the live kitchen marked, and we will say which duct or which wall - ask for a showroom scenting plan.

Straight answer
How should I scent a 5,000 sq ft premium appliance experience centre?
With one SOSA Angaan, and then with a duct map, a schedule and a walk to the far corner at five in the afternoon. The arithmetic is quick because it does not change with the ceiling. Five thousand square feet is about 465 square metres; at three metres that is roughly 1,400 cubic metres, at four about 1,860, at five about 2,300 - every one of them past a Vaayu's 1000m³ and inside the Angaan's 3,000m³. A Vaayu on this floor would run at maximum and leave the specification table at the far end smelling of nothing; two Vaayus would make two gradients and a strong band where they cross, and are rated to less air between them than one Angaan. So: one Angaan at ₹25,999 - an HVAC nebulising diffuser with an 800ml reservoir, a metal body, programmable schedules and operation under 42dB - which on a 5,000 sq ft floor runs well inside its range, and a machine with margin runs low, which is what a floor of steel and glass needs. Now the three things that are the real work. The duct. The Angaan earns its price by connecting to the air-handling plant so the supply carries the trace through every grille on the sales floor. That connection is honest on one condition: the duct serves the sales floor alone. A 5,000 sq ft experience centre almost always has a live kitchen, and if the same air-handling unit supplies the kitchen, a machine on that duct scents the demonstration, which is the one thing this whole cluster exists to prevent. Ask whoever maintains the plant which AHU serves what; if a sales-floor-only duct exists, the Angaan goes on it, on the supply side, after the filters, where they tell you; if it does not, the Angaan is wall-mounted standalone, high above the display line on the reception-side wall the supply crosses first, away from the return and away from the hood. Where to place a scent machine with central AC works through supply and return in detail. The schedule. Programme trading hours and nothing else, and then cut the demo windows out: the live kitchen's demonstration slots, the coffee tastings, the evening the chef cooks for an architect's clients. The demonstration owns the air while it runs; the machine is off before it starts, the kitchen's own extraction runs during and after, and the fragrance comes back only when the room smells of nothing. Demo days vs regular days is the two-schedule version of this. The level. A big floor tempts a big setting, and that is the mistake to refuse. Set it for the advisor who stands on this floor nine hours a day, not the visitor who spends one; start at the lowest setting and walk to the furthest corner at five in the afternoon after a full day - if the trace is faintly present there, stop; if you can name it at the reception desk, come down. Hard surfaces bounce fragrance and there is nothing on this floor to absorb it. Then lock the schedule and the level, because on a floor with eight or ten staff the level only ever drifts one way. The register is the one every page here shares: Mountain Breeze - pine, sage, cedar - for a floor of walnut, stone and dark glass, lemon-mint for a white one, nothing edible anywhere near a hob. A second machine is honest only for a second volume - a mezzanine with its own AC, a closed wing - and it is a Vaayu sized for that volume, never a second Angaan on this floor. Fragrance is an interiors decision, like lighting or music: SOSA makes no claim that it changes footfall, dwell time, conversion or sales, no claim about what it does to any appliance or finish, and it is never a substitute for ventilation, cleaning or extraction. The rung below is 3,000 sq ft, where the Vaayu and the Angaan are still both candidates; the rung above is 7,500 sq ft, where the question becomes one volume or two; and how to calculate scent-machine requirements is the whole method. Ask for a showroom scenting plan with the AHU zones marked and we will name the duct or the wall.
5,000 sq ft is one Angaan (Rs 25,999, 3,000m³) at any ceiling - 1,400 to 2,300m³ of air. On a duct serving the sales floor alone, or standalone on the reception-side wall; programmed for trading hours with demo windows cut out; set from the far corner, locked. A Vaayu is under-sized here; two Vaayus make competing gradients.
For a 5,000 sq ft experience centre, one SOSA Angaan - 3,000m³, 800ml reservoir, programmable schedules, HVAC-connected or standalone - at ₹25,999 is the whole installation. The duct map is the rest of the job.

Five decisions for one Angaan

The machine is decided. Here are the five decisions that make one Angaan work on a 5,000 sq ft floor: the volume, the duct, the schedule, the level and the demo zones.

1
The volume
Why the Angaan, not the Vaayu, and not two of either
At 5,000 sq ft the ceiling stops mattering to the choice of machine. Three metres gives about 1,400m³, five gives about 2,300m³, and both are past one Vaayu's 1000m³ and inside one Angaan's 3,000m³. A Vaayu here would run at its top setting and still leave the far end empty, which is the moment owners buy a second Vaayu and create the competing-gradient problem: two sources, a strong band where they cross, two dials drifting apart, and less rated volume between them than the Angaan has on its own for about the same money. One Angaan runs at roughly half its range, and a machine with margin runs low. The arithmetic for any size is in how to calculate scent-machine requirements; at this size it always comes out the same way.
Arithmetic: 5,000 sq ft × 0.093 ≈ 465m²; × ceiling height in metres = cubic metres. At every realistic ceiling, one Angaan.
2
The duct
Sales floor alone - or standalone
The Angaan's HVAC connection is the reason it covers a floor this size evenly: every supply grille becomes a source, the gradient flattens, and the far corner gets the same faint trace as the first display. The condition is that the duct serves the sales floor alone. Ask whoever maintains the plant for the AHU zoning - which unit supplies the sales floor, which the live kitchen, which the back store and offices. If a sales-floor-only supply exists, the Angaan goes on it where they tell you, on the supply side, after the filters, and they confirm the fitting. If the only unit also feeds the demo kitchen, the connection is off the table and the Angaan is wall-mounted standalone, high on the reception-side wall the supply crosses first, away from the return and the hood. Central AC placement has the supply-and-return logic; why fragrance disappears when the AC runs explains what a return grille does to a badly placed source.
SOSA Angaan
The Angaan connects to the plant or wall-mounts standalone - the duct map decides which.
See SOSA Angaan →
3
The schedule
Trading hours in, every demonstration out
A 5,000 sq ft experience centre demonstrates: a chef in the live kitchen on Saturdays, oven sessions for architects, coffee tastings at the counter, a home-theatre room running most of the day. The Angaan's programmable schedule is built for exactly this. Programme opening to closing, then cut out every demo window with a margin before it - the machine is off before the hob is lit, not when the smell of frying reaches reception. During the demonstration the kitchen's own extraction runs; after it, extraction and time clear the room; and the fragrance returns only when the floor smells of nothing. Should I switch off during an oven or hob demonstration? and demo days vs regular days give the hour-by-hour and the two-schedule versions. Fragrance never clears cooking odour - it adds a smell, it does not subtract one.
Rule: the live kitchen, the coffee counter and a running demo theatre stay unscented while they run. Cut the windows out of the schedule; do not rely on someone remembering.
4
The level
A big floor tempts a big setting - refuse it
The most common fault on large floors is a setting chosen at the reception desk at ten in the morning by someone who wanted to be sure it was working. Set it for the advisor who stands here nine hours a day. Start at the lowest setting, run a full day, and walk to the furthest corner of the floor at five in the afternoon: if the trace is faintly there, stop; if it can be named at the desk, come down. Steel, glass, stone and lacquer bounce fragrance around with nothing to absorb it, so a 5,000 sq ft appliance floor sits a step below a 5,000 sq ft furniture floor. Then lock it - on a floor with eight or ten staff, the level only ever drifts upward, and the schedule and level you agreed on a Saturday should still be the ones in March. How strong fragrance should be has the full test.
5
The demo zones
Subtract them from the map, not from the arithmetic
The live kitchen and the coffee counter share the floor's air, so they are in the cubic metres; what they are not in is the plan of where fragrance goes. That is a placement, duct and schedule matter: the source on the reception side, never on a duct that supplies the kitchen, off before every demonstration. A closed home-theatre demo room is different - small, sealed, about sound and picture - and it gets nothing of its own; a trace from the corridor is the most it should carry. And a 5,000 sq ft site sometimes has a true second volume - a mezzanine with a solid floor and its own AC, a closed consultation wing - which gets its own Vaayu sized for it, same register, its own far-end test, as the two-floor page sets out. Never a second Angaan on this floor.
SOSA Vaayu
The Vaayu is the machine for a second volume on the site - a mezzanine or a wing with its own air.

The SOSA principle
At 5,000 sq ft the machine is the Angaan and the installation is the duct map - one source on a sales-floor-only supply, demo windows cut out, judged from the far corner.
One volume, one Angaan at half its range, held low and locked. The live kitchen on its own extraction. A second machine only for a second volume, sized for that volume.

The furthest corner and the specification table
Where the level is judged at five in the afternoon: faintly present, un-nameable. If it is empty the source or duct is wrong; if it is nameable, the level is.
The live kitchen and the coffee counter
Nothing while they run. Not on the scented duct; own extraction during and after; the Angaan's schedule cut out around every demonstration.
The home-theatre demo room
Neutral. Small, sealed and about sound and picture; a trace from the corridor is the most it should carry.

The rungs on either side sharpen this one: at 3,000 sq ft the Vaayu and the Angaan are both still candidates, and at 7,500 sq ft the question turns into whether the floor is one volume or two. Should a showroom with a live kitchen use commercial fragrance? is the rule behind the demo windows, and what a premium appliance showroom should smell like sets the register. SOSA makes no claim that any of this affects footfall, dwell time, conversion or sales.

A note from Sonal

Five thousand square feet is where the conversation changes shape. Below it I am arguing about which machine; at this size the machine is settled - one Angaan, at any ceiling - and the person I need to talk to is not the owner but whoever maintains the air-handling plant. Which unit serves the sales floor. Which serves the live kitchen. Whether there is a duct that feeds the displays and nothing else. That answer decides whether the Angaan goes on the plant, which is what it was built for, or on the reception-side wall as a standalone unit, which is honest and a little less even.

The second conversation is with the floor manager about the schedule, because a centre this size demonstrates constantly and the Angaan has to be off before the chef starts, not when the smell reaches the desk. We cut the windows out of the programme together and then nobody has to remember. The third is the level, and it is the one I lose most often: a big floor makes people want to be sure it is working, and being sure means the desk at ten in the morning, which means too much at the far corner by five. Set it from the far corner, for the advisor who stands there all day, and lock it.

The Vaayu appears on a 5,000 sq ft plan only when the site has a real second volume - a mezzanine with its own air, a closed wing - and then it is sized for that volume, not copied from the main floor. Register: cedar and sage, or lemon and mint for a white floor, nothing edible near a hob. And as always: no claim that fragrance moves footfall, dwell time or sales, and no claim about what it does to anything on display. It is an interiors decision, like lighting or music, and never a substitute for the kitchen's extraction. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the Angaan and not the Vaayu the right machine for a 5,000 sq ft experience centre?
Because of the cubic metres. A 5,000 sq ft floor holds about 1,400m³ at a three-metre ceiling and about 2,300m³ at five, past a Vaayu's 1000m³ rating at every height and inside an Angaan's 3,000m³ at every height. A Vaayu would run at maximum and leave the far end empty; two Vaayus would make competing gradients and are rated to less air between them than one Angaan. One Angaan at Rs 25,999 runs at about half its range, so it runs low.
Should the Angaan be connected to the HVAC or wall-mounted in a 5,000 sq ft centre?
Connected, if there is a duct that serves the sales floor alone - confirmed by whoever maintains the plant - because every supply grille then becomes a source and the gradient flattens across the whole floor. Standalone, wall-mounted high on the reception-side wall the supply crosses first, if the only air-handling unit also feeds the live kitchen. A standalone Angaan on a 5,000 sq ft floor is honest and slightly less even; a connected one on a shared duct scents the demonstration, which is never acceptable.
Can the Angaan share a duct with the demo kitchen's supply in a 5,000 sq ft centre?
No. If the air-handling unit that supplies the sales floor also supplies the live kitchen, a machine on that duct puts fragrance into the demonstration, and the smell of what is being cooked is the product being sold. In that case the Angaan is wall-mounted standalone on the reception side instead, and the kitchen keeps its own extraction running during and after every demonstration. The connection is only ever made to a duct serving the sales floor alone.
How is the fragrance level set on a 5,000 sq ft floor of steel and glass?
From the far corner, late in the day, for the staff. Start the Angaan at its lowest setting, run a full trading day, and walk to the furthest point of the floor at five in the afternoon: if the trace is faintly present there, stop; if it can be named at the reception desk, come down a step. Hard surfaces bounce fragrance with nothing to absorb it, so an appliance floor sits a step below a furniture floor of the same size. Lock the setting once the team agrees it.
What does the Angaan's programmable schedule look like on a 5,000 sq ft demo-day floor?
Trading hours from opening to closing, with every demonstration cut out and a margin before it: the machine is off before the hob is lit or the coffee is ground, not when the smell reaches reception. During the demonstration the kitchen's extraction runs; after it, extraction and time clear the room; the fragrance returns only when the floor smells of nothing. On regular days the same programme runs without the cut-outs. Nobody has to remember anything, which is the point of a schedule.

Facts verified 7 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days a fill depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and onboard button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, operation under 38dB, DC 12V/1A at 5W (roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten-hour daily schedule), freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification - electrical and compliance marks. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or displays; the four 100ml bottles in the box are the supply, and refill availability should be confirmed with SOSA. The SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) is an HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules and operation under 42dB; the SOSA Meenar (₹38,500) is the HVAC machine for 12,000-18,000 sq ft. The SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) is a 500ml water-based ultrasonic diffuser for a single room of roughly 270-320 sq ft.
