Founder Diaries · Fragrance Gifts for Father
By Sonal Sahani · ISIPCA Versailles 8 min read Updated September 2026
The constraint is a hard ceiling of three hundred rupees, and the honest answer is that SOSA has nothing that works as a standalone gift under it. The only item below ₹300 is the Hotel Collection 15ml at ₹299, and that is water-based fuel for an ultrasonic machine - it does nothing at all for a father who does not already own a Boond, a Sukoon or a Megh. Giving him that bottle on its own is giving him a liquid with nothing to put it in.
SOSA Adaa attar, bergamot cardamom and jasmine sambac, from Rs 379
SOSA Adaa · bergamot, green cardamom and jasmine sambac over white musk from ₹379 →
The cheapest complete gift in the range, and the reason this page points upward rather than sideways. SOSA Adaa, ₹379 for 3ml - bergamot, green cardamom and jasmine sambac over white musk. Eighty rupees above a three-hundred ceiling, and the first point at which the money buys something he can open and use without owning anything else.
Quick answers — read this first
Is there a SOSA gift for a father under Rs 300? No. The only item under ₹300 is the water-based Hotel Collection 15ml at ₹299, which is fuel for an ultrasonic diffuser rather than a gift. If he does not own Boond at ₹899, Sukoon at ₹1,899 or Megh at ₹3,499, it is unusable.

What is the cheapest real gift SOSA sells for a father? A 3ml attar at ₹379 - Adaa ₹379, Ameeri ₹385, Mastani ₹389, Nawaab ₹399. It is a complete object: a sealed roll-on bottle of alcohol-free oil that works the moment he opens it, with nothing else needed to make it do anything.

What can I buy for a father who already owns a SOSA car fragrance? A car hanging refill at ₹399 to ₹429, which fits the bottle he already has. That is the only case where something under ₹450 is genuinely useful without buying anything else alongside it.
The short answer
Short answer: There is nothing under Rs 300 that works on its own. The Rs 299 Hotel Collection 15ml is water-based fuel for an ultrasonic machine and is useless without one. The cheapest real standalone gift is a 3ml attar at Rs 379, then car hanging refills at Rs 399 to Rs 429 if he already owns the bottle, then car fragrance at Rs 449.
The pick: A 3ml attar at ₹379 - the cheapest thing in the SOSA range that is a complete gift on its own.
Why: It is eighty rupees above the band and it is the point at which the object stops needing anything else to be useful.
Where your father actually spends his day - at a glanceHe drives daily - car fragrance ₹449, hanging or spray, same priceHe wears something - attar from ₹379, oud or sandalwoodHe travels or lives in the car - SOSA Safar ₹3,999He is retired and home all day - reed diffuser ₹749
Most gifts for fathers fail in the same way: they are aimed at a living room he sits in for an hour, not at the car he spends ten hours a week in. Work out where his day actually happens before you look at a price, and the shortlist gets very short - usually a ₹449 car fragrance or a ₹379 attar rather than the expensive thing you were bracing yourself for.
Straight answer
What can I buy my father for under Rs 300?
Nothing, and it is worth saying that plainly rather than stretching something to fit. The only SOSA item under ₹300 is the Hotel Collection 15ml at ₹299, and it is water-based fragrance made to go into an ultrasonic diffuser - Boond at ₹899, Sukoon at ₹1,899 or Megh at ₹3,499. Without one of those machines in the house it is a bottle he cannot use, and it never goes into a Safar or a Vaayu either, because those take a different waterless oil. The first real price point is ₹379, a 3ml attar: Adaa ₹379, Ameeri ₹385, Mastani ₹389, Nawaab ₹399, each a sealed roll-on bottle of alcohol-free oil that works on its own. Then ₹399 to ₹429 for a car hanging refill, but only for a father who already owns the hanging bottle. Then ₹449 for a car fragrance, which is the cheapest complete answer for a father who drives. Everything else in the range, including reed diffusers from ₹749, is a long way above this band. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The gap between ₹299 and ₹379 is eighty rupees, and it is the difference between a bottle he cannot use and a gift he can.
The first real price point in the range: a 3ml attar at ₹379. Sealed, alcohol-free, complete on its own, and eighty rupees above a ceiling that has nothing usable under it.
SOSA attars from ₹379

The three things to understand before you spend anything at all

A budget page that pretends the band is workable is worse than no page. These three points explain why ₹300 does not buy a gift here, what the next three price points actually are, and when each of them is enough on its own.

1
The first point
What the ₹299 bottle actually is
The Hotel Collection at ₹299 for 15ml is the cheapest thing SOSA sells and it is not a perfume you wear or a diffuser you stand on a table. It is water-based fragrance concentrate made to be dropped into an ultrasonic cool mist machine that you fill with water and switch on. Its whole reason for existing is that a machine owner needs refilling; 100ml is ₹999 for the same reason.

The range runs on three different fluids and none of them is interchangeable. Reed diffusers use their own alcohol-free reed oil. Ultrasonic machines use this water-based Hotel Collection. SOSA Vaayu and SOSA Safar use a waterless nebuliser oil at ₹1,049 for 100gm. The ₹299 bottle never goes into a Vaayu or a Safar, and it does nothing on a shelf. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand, and these are SOSA's own compositions.
Tip: Buy the ₹299 bottle only for a father who already owns Boond, Sukoon or Megh.
2
The second point
Why ₹379 is the real floor
A 3ml attar is the cheapest object in the SOSA range that is finished in itself. Adaa ₹379, Ameeri ₹385, Mastani ₹389, Nawaab ₹399 - a sealed roll-on bottle of alcohol-free concentrated oil, applied to the pulse points rather than sprayed. He opens it, rolls it on, and that is the entire transaction. Nothing has to be bought alongside it and nothing has to be plugged in.

Eighty rupees over a three-hundred ceiling is a small stretch, and it is the one stretch worth making, because under it the money buys nothing usable. What is not worth doing is the opposite move - padding a ₹299 bottle with something else to make a parcel, or buying two ₹299 bottles because the arithmetic fits. Two bottles of machine fuel is still no machine. If ₹379 genuinely is not available, the honest position is to wait rather than to buy the unusable thing.
3
The third point
The one case where under ₹450 is genuinely enough
If he already has a SOSA hanging bottle on the car mirror, a car hanging refill at ₹399 to ₹429 is a real and useful thing to give him. It fits what he owns, it gets used, and it costs less than almost anything else in the range that is not fuel for a machine.

That is a narrow condition and it is worth checking rather than assuming. If he does not own the hanging bottle, a refill is the same mistake as the ₹299 bottle - liquid with nothing to put it in. In that case the first complete answer for a father who drives is a car fragrance at ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Sandalwood, ₹499 for Lemon or ₹509 for Oud, each in a mild hanging format or a stronger spray at the same price.
Tip: Check the mirror first. A refill is only a gift if the bottle it fits is already up there.
SOSA Ameeri attar, Taif rose with sandalwood and saffron, from Rs 385
The format he already understands
An attar is not a smaller perfume - it is the thing many Indian fathers wore before perfume arrived
Alcohol-free concentrated oil, applied to the pulse points rather than sprayed, so it sits close to the skin and does not announce itself across a room. Nawaab is white royal oud with Mysore sandalwood and Kashmir saffron; Ameeri is Taif rose with Indian sandalwood and Persian saffron; Adaa is bergamot, green cardamom and jasmine sambac; Mastani is night-blooming jasmine with damask rose and oudh. From ₹379 for 3ml, ₹669 for 6ml and ₹1,149 for 12ml.
See the SOSA attars →
Work it out in this order
How to spend the smallest honest amount
  1. Do not buy the Rs 299 bottle unless he owns Boond, Sukoon or Megh already.
  2. Stretch to Rs 379 for a 3ml attar. That is the first complete gift in the range.
  3. Check his car mirror. If a SOSA bottle is there, a refill at Rs 399 is enough.
  4. If he drives and owns nothing yet, buy car fragrance at Rs 449 and stop.
The SOSA principle
A price band is not a product category. When the cheapest usable thing sits eighty rupees above the ceiling, the useful answer is to say so rather than to dress up a bottle of machine fuel as a gift.
Eighty rupees is the whole distance between something he cannot use and something he can.

What the first real price points buy, and in which size

At ₹379 to ₹399 the choice is between four 3ml attars and it is a taste decision rather than a price one. SOSA Adaa at ₹379 is bergamot, green cardamom and jasmine sambac over white musk - bright and green, the pick for a father who has never liked anything heavy. SOSA Ameeri at ₹385 is Taif rose with Indian sandalwood, Persian saffron and soft oudh. SOSA Mastani at ₹389 is night-blooming jasmine with damask rose and oudh. SOSA Nawaab at ₹399 is white royal oud with Mysore sandalwood and Kashmir saffron. Ameeri and Nawaab are the two that read as traditional and are the safer picks for a father who has worn sandalwood or oud for years. Just above them, the cheapest car fragrance is Jasmine at ₹449, mogra-inspired, with Sandalwood at ₹479 the quietest of the range.

The SOSA gift edit
What each of the first four price points actually buys
The option Who it suits, and where it fails
Hotel Collection 15ml · ₹299 The only item under ₹300 and not a standalone gift. Water-based fragrance for an ultrasonic cool mist machine - Boond ₹899, Sukoon ₹1,899, Megh ₹3,499. Worth buying only for a father who already owns one of those. It never goes into a Safar or a Vaayu, which take a different waterless oil.
A 3ml attar · ₹379 to ₹399 The cheapest complete gift SOSA makes. Alcohol-free oil in a sealed roll-on bottle, applied to the pulse points rather than sprayed, in the format many Indian fathers already know. Adaa ₹379, Ameeri ₹385, Mastani ₹389, Nawaab ₹399. It fails only on taste, so pick the direction you have actually seen him wear.
A car hanging refill · ₹399 to ₹429 Genuinely useful and genuinely cheap, on one condition: he already owns the SOSA hanging bottle it fits. Then it is maintenance he would otherwise have bought himself. If he does not own the bottle, it is the same problem as the ₹299 bottle and you want the ₹449 car fragrance instead.
Car fragrance · ₹449 to ₹549 The cheapest complete answer for a father who drives, and the strongest gift in this whole price region. Nine scents, each in a mild hanging format and a stronger spray at the same price. It does nothing for a father who barely drives - for him the 3ml attar at ₹379 or nothing at all is the honest call.
SOSA oud hanging car perfume, Rs 509
The gap in most fathers lives
Car fragrance is the category he has never bothered to solve for himself
Nine scents from ₹449 to ₹549, each available in a mild hanging format and a stronger spray at the same price. Hanging refills are ₹399 to ₹429 for somebody who already owns the bottle, saver combos are ₹899 to ₹949, and a three-mini Discovery Set is ₹699 to ₹799 if you would rather he picked. For a father who commutes, this is the most-used thing on the page.
See the car fragrance range →

For context on how far this band sits from the rest of the range: a 50ml reed diffuser is ₹749 to ₹849 and runs about 6 to 10 weeks, a 130ml is ₹1,249 to ₹1,349, the Attar Trio is ₹1,055 for three 3ml bottles, and SOSA Safar is ₹3,999 - a waterless, cordless, rechargeable cold-diffusion car and travel perfume diffuser that is the wrong product outright for a father who drives twice a week. None of that is a ₹300 answer and none of it is offered as one here. If the ceiling is fixed at three hundred rupees, the two honest options are to stretch to ₹379 or to wait until you can.

SOSA Nawaab attar - white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood and Kashmir saffron, from Rs 399
White royal oud with Mysore sandalwood and Kashmir saffron. Alcohol-free oil, rolled on rather than sprayed - the format a father who grew up on attar already knows how to wear.
₹399 · 3ml, 6ml and 12ml
SOSA sandalwood hanging car perfume, Rs 479
Nine scents from ₹449 to ₹549, each in a mild hanging format and a stronger spray at the same price. The one category most fathers have never bothered to solve for themselves.
from ₹449 · hanging or spray
SOSA Safar waterless cordless car and travel perfume diffuser, Rs 3,999
Waterless, cordless, rechargeable cold diffusion for a car or a travel bag. The right gift only for a father who genuinely drives for hours or travels constantly.
₹3,999
When it is the first salary, the big thank-you, or his business premises
SOSA Safar ₹3,999 for the car, SOSA Vaayu ₹11,999 for the whole home
Safar is the waterless, cordless, rechargeable cold-diffusion perfume diffuser for a car or a travel bag - ₹3,999 for the SOSA-scent trios and ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired trios. Vaayu is the machine version of the same idea for a building: waterless cold-air nebulising of undiluted oil, rated for approximately 1000 m3 of connected air, with a Bluetooth app and timer, a 400ml tank, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, DC 12V / 1A 5W mains power and CE, RoHS and SGS marks. Both run waterless nebuliser oil - 100 gm ₹1,049, 300 gm ₹1,849 - and neither takes the ₹299 water-based Hotel Collection bottle. A rating assumes one connected body of air, so a Vaayu suits a large open home or a business and is the wrong gift for a two-bedroom flat with every door closed. It adds a scent to a space; it does not remove one.

We would rather tell you the range has nothing under three hundred rupees than sell you a bottle of machine fuel and call it a gift.

The SOSA gifting range

Three questions settle almost every father gift. Will it be worn, in which case it is a taste decision and you need to be able to finish the sentence he usually wears something with...? Does it go in his car, where the only real choice is between the mild hanging format and the stronger spray at the same price, and where the gift is noticed every single morning? Or does it sit in a room, which is the answer for a retired father or one who works from home, and which asks nothing of you except knowing which room he actually sits in? Answer that first, then pick the band - because the commonest mistake here is spending more to cover up not knowing.

The SOSA gifting range
Pick by where his day happens, then by budget - in that order
Gift What it is Who it suits Price
SOSA attars Alcohol-free roll-on oil Nawaab is the oud one and Ameeri the rose-and-sandalwood one - the traditional formats most Indian fathers already recognise from ₹379
SOSA Attar Trio Pack of three attars Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani in one box - for when you cannot name what he wears from ₹1,055
SOSA car fragrance Hanging or spray Nine scents, each in a mild hanging format and a stronger spray at the same price - the gap in most fathers' lives from ₹449
SOSA Safar Waterless car and travel diffuser Cordless, rechargeable cold diffusion for a father who genuinely drives for hours or lives out of a suitcase ₹3,999
SOSA reed diffusers Passive home fragrance Five scents in 50ml and 130ml, nothing to plug in or switch off, about 6 to 10 weeks - the retired-father answer from ₹749
SOSA reed duo sets Two reeds in one box Day & Night, Fresh & Grounded and Warmth & Bloom - a gift to both parents rather than one from ₹1,498
SOSA Vaayu Waterless cold-air machine Approx 1000 m3 of connected air with a Bluetooth app and timer - a large home or his business premises ₹11,999

Three different fluids run through this range and none of them is interchangeable. Reed diffusers use their own alcohol-free reed oil. The SOSA ultrasonics - Boond ₹899, Sukoon ₹1,899 and Megh ₹3,499 - run the water-based Hotel Collection from ₹299. Vaayu and Safar run waterless nebulising oil, so the ₹299 water-based bottle never goes into either of them. SOSA blends are SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations and SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

A note from Sonal

A striking number of the messages we get start the same way: my father says he doesn't want anything. In my experience that sentence almost never means what it says. It usually means do not spend money on me, which is a different instruction entirely, and it is one you can actually follow. The gift that works is small, it is used up rather than kept, and it goes somewhere he already is. That is why so much of what I recommend for fathers costs between ₹379 and ₹1,000, and why I am perfectly happy to talk somebody out of the bigger box.

The second thing I say is: look at his car. An Indian father who commutes has a space that belongs entirely to him, that he spends more waking hours in than any room of the house, and that he has almost certainly never spent a rupee on making pleasant. A ₹449 hanging bottle is noticed on the first morning and every morning after, which is more than most gifts three times the price manage. If he does not drive, look at what he wears - and if he has worn sandalwood or oud his whole life, an attar is not a novelty to him, it is the format he grew up with.

One honest caution about the first-salary gift, because we see it often and it is lovely. The instinct is to spend the whole feeling in one purchase, and to buy the most expensive thing in the range to make the point. The point does not need an expensive object to be made. Most fathers I hear about kept the small thing and mentioned the amount for years. Spend it on accuracy - the right scent, the right format, the right place - and put whatever is left back in your own account, which is a thing he would approve of more than the gift.

Frequently asked questions

What can I gift my father under Rs 300?
Nothing from SOSA that works on its own. The only item below Rs 300 is the Hotel Collection 15ml at Rs 299, which is water-based fragrance for an ultrasonic diffuser and is unusable without one. The cheapest real standalone gift is a 3ml attar at Rs 379.
Can I give the Rs 299 Hotel Collection bottle as a gift?
Only to a father who already owns an ultrasonic machine - Boond at Rs 899, Sukoon at Rs 1,899 or Megh at Rs 3,499. It is fuel for that machine. It does not go into a reed diffuser, and it never goes into a SOSA Safar or Vaayu, which take a different waterless nebuliser oil.
What is the cheapest SOSA gift that works on its own?
A 3ml attar at Rs 379. Adaa is Rs 379, Ameeri Rs 385, Mastani Rs 389 and Nawaab Rs 399. Each is a sealed roll-on bottle of alcohol-free concentrated oil applied to the pulse points, and nothing else has to be bought alongside it for it to be useful.
Is a car refill at Rs 399 a good cheap gift?
Yes, but only if he already owns the SOSA hanging bottle it fits. Car hanging refills are Rs 399 to Rs 429. If he does not own the bottle, buy the car fragrance at Rs 449 instead, which comes in a mild hanging format or a stronger spray at the same price.
Should I buy two cheap items to make up a Rs 300 gift?
No. Two bottles of machine fuel is still no machine, and padding a parcel does not make the contents usable. If Rs 379 is not available right now, waiting is the better option than buying something that cannot be used. SOSA does not offer wrapping or a card service, so there is nothing to pad it with either.

Tell SOSA on WhatsApp what he already has and you will get one answer rather than a list.
