Three measurements decide this entire purchase, and none of them is the total floor area everybody quotes. How many doors do you genuinely close. How large is the biggest space with no doors in it. Is the air conditioning ducted or split. Take those three numbers and the catalogue narrows to one route on its own — which is fortunate, because a large house offers more ways to spend money badly than any other home in this series.

The rule that does not change: One machine per closed air space. It is the same rule that sizes a studio and a 3BHK, and it still governs most of a villa — a 180 sq ft bedroom is a 180 sq ft bedroom whatever the house around it costs.
The two things to avoid: A Megh bought as a coverage upgrade — at ₹3,499 it covers about 215 sq ft against a Sukoon's 270–320, so it covers less for more. And machines in corridors, landings and stairwells, which are transit air and give nothing back.

The three measurements, and why they are the whole guide

The first measurement is a door count, and it does most of the work. Fragrance does not pass through a closed door — it moves by diffusion and by air currents, and a shut door removes both — so every sealed room is a separate problem with a binary answer: one machine, or nothing. That is why a villa's bedrooms cost exactly what a 2BHK's bedrooms cost. Nothing about a large or expensive house makes a 180 sq ft room harder to scent, and the Sukoon at ₹1,899 handles it identically in both. Two-thirds of a villa purchase is therefore a decision you have already made in every smaller home in this series, and the only villa-specific judgement is which rooms you genuinely use — a guest suite occupied four nights a year does not need a machine standing in it.

The second measurement is the one that makes villas different, and it is a volume rather than an area. Walk from your front door towards the dining table and count the doors you actually pass through. If there are none, everything you crossed is a single body of air, and it has to be sized in cubic metres. Ultrasonic mist is cold, wet and heavy: it condenses and drops within a few metres of the machine, which is a property of the mist rather than of any particular diffuser. So four Sukoons ranged around a large hall do not combine into one scented room — each draws its own gradient and the faint ends meet in a seam. Above roughly 800 to 1,000 sq ft of connected floor, a fleet is genuinely worse value as well as worse performing: the Vaayu at ₹11,999 works out around ₹12 per cubic metre of air against about ₹22 for a Sukoon, and it produces a dry particle that stays airborne. The third measurement is the simplest — ducted air or split units — and it is the only thing that makes an Aangan possible at any price.

The four bedrooms stay on Sukoons at ₹7,596, because a closed door stops fragrance regardless of what is running in the hall. Two costs to accept knowingly: the Vaayu is waterless, so it runs neat oil bought with the machine and cannot take the water-based Hotel Collection, and you therefore maintain two supplies. This is the plan most modern Indian villas end up on.
The threshold: under about 800 sq ft of connected floor this route buys you nothing. Over it, it buys the only thing that works.

Cheapest air in the catalogue, hardest to qualify for
The Aangan at ₹25,999 is a nebulising system fitted into ducted or central air and rated for 8,000–10,000 sq ft — roughly ₹10 per cubic metre, less than anything else here. Three gates. It needs existing ductwork, so a house on wall-mounted splits is excluded entirely. It wants a genuinely large served area; below about 5,000 sq ft you are buying capacity the building cannot present. And it removes zoning — the same fragrance reaches every room the duct serves, which is why four Sukoons at ₹7,596 usually stay on the quote for the rooms you want under separate control. It is waterless too, so no Hotel Collection in it either.

Placement, dose and running, across the whole house

Placement follows the air rather than the floor plan, and a villa has more air movement than a flat. In each closed room, stand the Sukoon about a metre off the floor on a console or chest of drawers, a metre from the bed or sofa, out of the direct throw of the split AC, and with a foot of clear space around it so the mist disperses rather than condensing on a wall. In a room with garden doors, place on the sheltered side rather than on the line between the doors and the hallway. In a double-height space, go deliberately low — side-table height beside the seating — because warm air rises through the void all day and anything released above about 1.5 metres never returns.

Dose by room and run in sessions. Three drops of the Hotel Collection in an ordinary bedroom, four in a large master, four to five in a common room with more volume and more leakage. Use the 2H timer so a bedroom scents itself before it is occupied and stops on its own; run the common areas for an hour before the evening rather than continuously. Continuous running in a big house is how you become nose-blind while still consuming fragrance, and the predictable next step is raising the dose until a visitor finds it heavy. Judge any room by stepping outside for five minutes and coming back in.

Housekeeping and the honest small print. Use filtered water in hard-water cities, rinse a tank whenever you change scent, and never put raw essential or carrier oils into an ultrasonic — they are too viscous to atomise and will foul the plate. Keep every bottle away from children and pets; the Hotel Collection is composed to IFRA standards for home diffusion, not for skin or ingestion. Water-based fragrance adds a little humidity, which is welcome in a dry winter and less so in a coastal monsoon. If a villa owner reads only one paragraph of this, I would like it to be this one. The expensive machines in my catalogue solve one problem, and it is not the problem of having a large house. It is the problem of having a large room. Square footage divided by walls is cheap to scent; square footage with no walls in it is not, and most houses that feel like they need something grand turn out to be the first kind.

The mistake I correct most often in this cluster is the Megh. It is bigger, it costs more, and everything about its six-litre tank suggests it must reach further. It reaches less far than the machine that costs half as much. I would rather say that plainly in a buying guide than let somebody discover it after paying ₹3,499 for a coverage upgrade that goes backwards.

So: count the doors, pace out the room that has none, look at how the air is delivered to your ceilings. Then buy — six Sukoons, or a Vaayu and four Sukoons, or in a handful of houses an Aangan. Whichever it is, put nothing in the corridors, start at three drops rather than six, and judge the result from the doorway after five minutes outside.
