This is a shopping list rather than an argument. If you have already accepted that a 4BHK needs four or five machines, what you want next is the specific kit — which model goes where, how many bottles supply it, and what the invoice actually comes to. The standard answer is five Sukoons at ₹9,495 and one 300ml bottle at ₹1,799, and there are two sensible variations either side of it. What is the best diffuser setup for a 4BHK apartment?
1. Two Sukoons for the public zone. If your living, dining and entrance run together as one volume — which in a 4BHK usually means 600–800 sq ft — two Sukoons at opposite ends beat any single machine. ₹3,798 for the pair. If the living room is a defined room under 350 sq ft, one is enough.

2. One Sukoon per bedroom in daily use. Three bedrooms in use is the common case in a 4BHK, so three machines at ₹5,697. Each is rated 270–320 sq ft, which is more than any Indian bedroom needs, and each has a 2H timer so it can stop itself once the room is scented.

3. That is ₹9,495 for the standard kit. Five Sukoons, fifteen 15ml fragrances included, every zone controllable independently. This is the setup I recommend for the majority of 4BHKs, and it is ₹2,504 less than a single Vaayu.

4. One 300ml bottle supplies the lot. At ₹1,799 for 300ml — roughly ₹6 per millilitre — a single bottle run across five machines at three to five drops a tank lasts months. Buying fifteen more 15ml bottles at ₹299 to supply a fleet is the expensive way to do the same thing.

5. What is not in the kit. No Megh — 215 sq ft is less coverage than a Sukoon, whatever the six-litre tank suggests. And for most 4BHKs no Vaayu: waterless, neat oil, cannot run the water-based Hotel Collection, and unable to reach a single closed bedroom.

Why a fleet of small machines beats one large one here

There is a natural instinct, once a home passes a certain size, to look for the single big solution — one machine, one plug, one thing to fill. It is the same instinct that makes people buy a Megh for coverage, and it fails for the same reason. Fragrance in a home is not a quantity to be produced centrally and distributed; it is a condition to be created separately in each room where somebody is. Five separate machines give you five separate controls: the master can run at three drops while the living room runs at five, the child's room can be off entirely for a fortnight, the guest room can come on an hour before people arrive. One central machine gives you one switch and a flat that is either scented everywhere or nowhere.

The fleet also fails gracefully. If one Sukoon stops working you have four rooms still running and a ₹1,899 replacement, rather than a silent home and a ₹11,999 problem. Every bedroom in daily use takes a Sukoon. Not a bigger machine — a bedroom of 120–250 sq ft is well inside the 270–320 sq ft rating, and the useful features here are the 2H timer and the remote, not extra output. The exception is the fourth room. If it is a study, a store or a guest room used a handful of nights, a Boond at ₹899 is the proportionate purchase: 150 sq ft, six hours a fill, switched on before people arrive and off after they leave. Skipping it entirely is also a defensible kit decision and saves ₹899.

One bottle, not fifteen
The machines arrive stocked — three 15ml bottles each, so five Sukoons bring fifteen. That is the whole seven-scent range twice over and it is genuinely enough to run for a while. What it is not is a supply strategy. Once you know which scent you want the flat to smell of, buy a 300ml bottle at ₹1,799 — around ₹6 per millilitre, against ₹20 per millilitre for 15ml bottles. If you would rather audition the range properly first, the Pack of 7 at ₹1,799 gives you all seven in 15ml. Refills start at ₹999 for 100ml.

The SOSA principle
Five machines is not five times one machine — it is five independent controls, which is the thing a single large diffuser cannot sell you at any price.

Placement, drops and running the kit

Set the public zone first, because it is the room the kit is really for. Two machines go at opposite ends of the connected volume — one near the seating, one near the dining end or the far wall — each about a metre off the floor on a console, sideboard or low shelf. Never on the floor, where output collects at skirting level, and never in the direct throw of a ceiling fan or split AC, which drives mist to one wall instead of dispersing it. Leave a foot of clearance around each machine so the mist does not condense on a curtain.

Dose by zone rather than uniformly. In the public rooms, four to five drops of Hotel Collection per tank; in bedrooms, three to four. The reason is not that bedrooms are smaller — they are well inside the rating either way — but that you are lying still in them for eight hours and the threshold for too much is lower. Run bedroom machines on the 2H timer for the hour before the room is used, and let them stop. A machine that has been diffusing since morning smells of nothing to the person in the room and of too much to anyone walking in.

Then the supply routine, which is what makes a five-machine kit sustainable rather than tiresome. Fill on a schedule rather than on demand — one evening a week, all five tanks, one bottle, ten minutes. Use filtered water in hard-water cities so the misting plates stay clean, rinse a tank properly when you change scent in it, and never substitute raw essential or carrier oils, which are too thick to atomise and will foul the plate. If you find yourself refilling constantly, you are running the machines too long rather than too strong; the fix is the timer, not a smaller dose.
