4. Three Sukoons at ₹5,697 is a real option, just rarely the right one. It is the correct spend if the second bedroom is genuinely occupied — a parent, a flatmate, a child. It is a waste if that door is shut six days a week, because a diffuser scenting an empty room is scenting nobody.
5. Recurring cost is fragrance and nothing else. There are no filters, no cartridges and no subscriptions. A 100ml refill from ₹999 or a 300ml at ₹1,799 is the entire ongoing spend, and in a 2BHK it lasts far longer than people assume.

Where the money actually goes in a 2BHK
People plan a home fragrance budget as though it works like a printer — cheap machine, expensive consumables, a bill that never stops. It is the other way round. The hardware is nearly the whole cost and you pay it once. Two Sukoons at ₹3,798 is a single line in one month's spending, and after that the flat is equipped for years; ultrasonic diffusers have no filters, no cartridges, no proprietary pods and nothing that expires. What you are left buying is fragrance oil, which is sold by the millilitre and consumed a few drops at a time. That asymmetry is the single most useful thing to understand before you decide how many machines to buy: the wrong number of machines costs you ₹1,899, not ₹1,899 a year.
Which is why the tiers matter more than the refill maths. The gap between the sensible 2BHK setup and the maximal one is ₹1,899 — the difference between two Sukoons and three — and it buys a machine for the second bedroom. In most 2BHKs that room is a study, a guest room, a store or a nursery-in-waiting, and it is empty most of the week. Scenting a room nobody is in is the purest form of waste in this category, because unlike a light you have left on, you never even notice the benefit you are not receiving. If that room does get used, the honest middle is a Boond at ₹899 — it is a small room, 150 sq ft of coverage is genuinely enough, and ₹4,697 for the flat is a better-shaped budget than ₹5,697.

The running cost, worked out honestly
Start from the dose, because everything follows from it. The guidance for the Hotel Collection is three to six drops per tank, and a drop is roughly a twentieth of a millilitre — so four drops is about 0.2ml. A Sukoon's 500ml tank runs 16 to 18 hours on low, which in a home used normally means one fill lasts the best part of a week if you run it for two hours an evening. Two machines, filled once a week each, is eight tanks a month: about 1.6ml of fragrance. At the 300ml bottle's rate of roughly ₹6 per millilitre, that is under ₹10 a month. I am aware how implausible that sounds, which is why it is worth stating where the number comes from.
Now allow for reality, because almost nobody counts drops. Assume you are heavier-handed than the guidance — six drops rather than four, a top-up mid-week, both machines running most evenings and longer at weekends. That is comfortably four to five times the careful figure, and it still lands somewhere between ₹40 and ₹60 a month for the whole flat. The honest conclusion is that the six 15ml bottles included with two Sukoons — ninety millilitres — will very likely see you through most of your first year, and that a single 100ml refill at ₹999 is not a monthly purchase but an annual one. If you like a scent enough to commit, the 300ml at ₹1,799 costs less per millilitre and simply lasts longer.
Two things move the number, and both are worth knowing. Running on high rather than low roughly halves tank life and doubles throughput, so continuous high-output use across three machines could plausibly reach ₹150 a month — still small, but a different order of magnitude. And switching scents often costs you fragrance, because you rinse the tank when you change and discard whatever is in it. Electricity is negligible: an ultrasonic diffuser draws a fraction of what a fan does, and the water is tap water, filtered if your city is hard.

Versailles
The question I am asked about a 2BHK is almost always "how much", and the answer people expect is a monthly one. It is not. You buy the machines once and then you buy oil by the millilitre, slowly. I would rather tell you that up front than let you discover it after you have talked yourself out of the setup you wanted.
Where I do think people overspend is the third machine. A 2BHK almost always has a room that exists for visitors, or for a desk, or for the things that have nowhere else to go — and putting ₹1,899 of diffuser in it because the flat has three doors is buying symmetry rather than benefit. If that room earns a machine, a Boond at ₹899 usually earns it better. If it does not, leave it alone and put the money into a 300ml bottle you will actually finish.
So the number I would give you is ₹3,798, arriving with six bottles of fragrance, with ₹899 held in reserve for the day the second bedroom becomes somebody's. A portion of whatever you spend funds a girl's schooling through Nanhi Kali, which is the part of the arithmetic I am least neutral about.
