What else is in this band? The 130ml reed diffuser from Rs 1,249, the Boond USB diffuser at Rs 899 paired with concentrate at Rs 299, and the 100ml Hotel Collection concentrate at Rs 999.
Does spending more here improve the gift? Only if it buys either choice or duration. A larger version of the wrong format is not an improvement.
The band that contains the most reliable gift in the shop
Above a thousand rupees the useful question changes. Below it you are choosing the right object; here you are deciding what the extra money should actually buy, and there are only two answers worth paying for. The first is choice - shifting the decision from you to the recipient. The second is duration - making something last a year instead of ten weeks. Anything else is simply a larger version of an object, which does not improve a gift and sometimes makes it worse, because a bigger thing carries a bigger expectation of being used and enjoyed. Start with choice, because this band contains the best example of it in the shop. The Attar Trio at one thousand and fifty-five rupees is three twelve-millilitre alcohol-free attars, and it is the most reliable gift in this whole cluster for a structural reason rather than a sentimental one. A worn fragrance is the single category where personal taste can reject a present outright: if the recipient does not like it, they either wear something they are uncomfortable in or quietly do not wear your gift, and neither is good. Every other risk in gifting is soft; this one is binary. The Trio removes it completely while keeping everything that makes a worn fragrance the most personal thing you can give - the recipient tries all three and one becomes theirs, which is a nicer experience than being handed a single bottle and hoping. It is also a legible, appropriate amount for almost any relationship: generous between friends, comfortable between colleagues where a gift policy permits, and not extravagant for family. On what an attar is, since it is the format most people in this price band have never handled: twelve millilitres of undiluted perfume oil in a glass roll-on with no alcohol carrier, applied with the roller rather than sprayed. Because there is no alcohol to flash off, it does not project - it opens quietly and stays within roughly an arm's length, which makes it wearable in an office, a hospital, a classroom or anywhere strong fragrance is unwelcome. Individually the four are Adaa at three hundred and seventy-nine rupees with bergamot, green cardamom, jasmine sambac and white musk; Ameeri at three hundred and eighty-five with Taif rose and Indian sandalwood; Mastani at three hundred and eighty-nine with night jasmine and Damask rose; and Nawaab at three hundred and ninety-nine, a white oud composition built with Mysore sandalwood and Kashmir saffron rather than a dehn al oud distillate - worth stating plainly rather than letting the word oud carry weight it has not earned. Now duration, which is the other thing worth paying for. The 130ml reed diffuser from one thousand two hundred and forty-nine rupees is the larger format and suits a bigger flat or a room where a standard reed would be working hard. Reeds use their own alcohol-free reed oil drawn up rattan by capillary action - a separate system, so reed oil never goes into a machine - and need a minute to set up and then nothing at all: no flame, no socket, no switch, two to three months of running unattended. For a first home this remains the tightest product-to-occasion fit in the shop, because a new flat has no smell of its own for the first weeks and whatever fills that gap tends to stay attached to the period, something people very commonly report years later. That is a widely reported experience rather than a mechanism this shop is claiming, and nothing here is a scientific or medical statement. The standard sizes at seven hundred and forty-nine to eight hundred and forty-nine rupees remain the correct choice for a normal flat; the 130ml is for a larger space, not a better gift. Then machines, where this band has one correct combination and one thing to avoid. The Boond at eight hundred and ninety-nine rupees is a three-hundred-millilitre USB mini suited to a desk or a bedside table, and it runs on the water-based Hotel Collection concentrate at two hundred and ninety-nine rupees for fifteen millilitres, used at three to six drops per tank. The pair at one thousand one hundred and ninety-eight rupees is a complete gift; the machine alone is not, because a diffuser with an empty tank is equipment that now requires research. That concentrate is ultrasonic-only - it is not reed oil, it is not nebuliser oil, and none of the three systems interchange. The hundred-millilitre size at nine hundred and ninety-nine rupees is a good gift on its own where somebody already owns an ultrasonic machine and you want to give them a register they have not tried. The seven are Quiet Luxury with white tea, bergamot and cedar; White Tea Serenity with white tea, aloe and cedar; Forest Suite with cedarwood, vetiver and green leaves; Old-World Glamour with amber, violet and woods; Tea Garden with jasmine, green tea and white tea; Warm Welcome with citrus, floral and sandalwood; and Lobby Bar with citrus, pepper and amber. These are SOSA's own interpretations, and the shop is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand. Two other combinations worth knowing in this band. A reed diffuser at seven hundred and forty-nine plus a candle at three hundred and seventy-nine comes to one thousand one hundred and twenty-eight and covers a home plus an evening. Three solid perfumes at around one thousand four hundred rupees suits a household or somebody who travels constantly - fifteen grams of alcohol-free balm in a flat compact, spill-proof, no cap to lose, six to eight hours, surviving months in a bag. And a note on the limits of this band, since people ask: the SOSA Safar waterless car diffuser at three thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine rupees and the Megh six-litre machine at three thousand four hundred and ninety-nine are both well above it, and the SOSA Vaayu at eleven thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine rupees is a commercial-scale nebuliser for roughly a thousand cubic metres, which is a showroom rather than a home. None of those belongs here. Finally, the two things that cost nothing and still matter more than the extra five hundred rupees: three or four specific written sentences naming what the person did, and sending the gift in week two or three rather than in the forty-eight hours when everybody else is sending theirs.

Versailles
There is a pattern I noticed years before we sold anything, and it is the reason this section exists. Somebody achieves something that took them years - the flat, the first car bought outright, the manuscript finished at last - and for about forty-eight hours the phone does not stop. Then it stops completely. The achievement took three years; the celebrating took a weekend, and then everybody went back to their own lives, which is not unkind, it is just how attention works.
Which means a gift arriving in week two or three lands in an empty field. That is the single most useful thing on any of these pages and it costs nothing. The second is that a congratulations gift is not repaying anything: nobody owes anybody here, so there is no ledger to balance and no risk of over-gifting into an obligation. You are free to be as generous as the relationship allows. And write the note about what they did, not about how you feel - name the four years, the thing they gave up, the draft they rewrote eleven times.
Two honest things. If somebody has just bought a new car, do not buy them something to cover the smell of it - most new owners like it, it fades on its own, and a fragrance is better introduced a few weeks later in a restrained register. And if somebody has bought a new home, size the gift to the home: our Vaayu is a waterless nebuliser built for spaces of roughly a thousand cubic metres, which is a hotel lobby rather than a three-bedroom flat, and we would rather tell you that than sell you one. Message us on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 with what they achieved and what their place is like, and we will say honestly if we think fragrance is the wrong call.
