The answer depends on two things you already know and we do not: how many listings are live at once, and how far apart they are. One machine carried between properties is the obvious economy and it is genuinely fine for a broker with one serious listing at a time. It stops being fine surprisingly fast, because carrying a machine means set-up and pack-down at each property, a working socket at each, and arriving early enough at every one of them for the air to settle before the buyer does. There is a third answer that sells less than either, and for a broker with several active premium listings it is usually the right one.
Quick answers — read this first
Should a realtor buy one scent machine or one for each listing? It depends on how many listings are live at once and how far apart they are. One SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999 carried between properties works well when you have one serious listing at a time, or two in the same building. Across a city with three or four active listings it works badly, because each property needs the machine set up, a live socket found, and enough lead time before the appointment for the air to be even and settled - which you cannot give three properties on the same Saturday. The practical middle answer is to leave one machine in the primary listing and use reed diffusers from Rs 749 in the others: one Vaayu plus three reeds is Rs 14,346, against Rs 47,996 for four machines.
What does it cost to put a machine in every listing? Four SOSA Vaayu units at Rs 11,999 each is Rs 47,996. Two is Rs 23,998 and three is Rs 35,997. The alternative shape - one Vaayu in the property you show most, with reeds at Rs 749, Rs 799 and Rs 799 in three secondary listings - comes to Rs 14,346, a difference of Rs 33,650 against the four-machine version. That is not an argument that one per listing is wrong; a broker whose four listings are all premium, all shown weekly and all attended personally may genuinely want four. It is an argument that the machine-per-listing shape should be a deliberate choice rather than the default, and for most brokers the mixed portfolio is more practical.
What is the real friction in carrying one machine between properties? Three things, and none of them is the weight. The machine has to be set up at each property and packed down again, which is minutes at each end of a viewing you are already tight on. It needs a live socket within reach of where you want it standing, and vacant listings frequently have the supply disconnected. And it should be running well before the buyer arrives so the air is even and settled rather than actively scenting at the door - which means arriving early at every property, and on a day with three viewings in three buildings that lead time is the thing that quietly stops working. It is a real constraint and worth planning around rather than discovering on a Saturday.
The short answer
Short answer: One machine carried between listings suits a broker with one serious listing at a time, or two in the same building. Across several properties it fails on lead time: the machine has to be set up, plugged into a live socket, and running well before each buyer arrives. The practical answer for several active premium listings is one SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999 left in the primary listing plus reed diffusers at Rs 749, Rs 799 and Rs 799 in the others - Rs 14,346 in total, against Rs 47,996 for four machines. Two Vaayus is Rs 23,998, three is Rs 35,997. Registers from Rs 299. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.
The pick: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) for premises to ~1000m³; reeds from ₹749 for a single room; cabin systems from ₹1,899; HVAC from ₹25,999.

Every customer-facing space hosts two audiences at once: the customer who forms an opinion in a single visit, and the staff who breathe that air for eight hours. Commercial scenting serves both with one move - a single refined fragrance, held evenly from the entrance to the far end of the floor, running on a schedule nobody has to remember. Customers experience it as "this brand has itself together"; the team gets premises that smell composed from opening to close.
Do I buy one machine and carry it, or one for every listing I have live?
Answer it from the portfolio, not the price. 1. One serious listing at a time: carry one. A single SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 is the right purchase. It is freestanding - it lays flat on a console or a kitchen platform, or mounts on a wall - so it travels, and at DC 12V / 1A, about 5W, it will run all day on any working socket. 2. Two listings in one building: still carry one. Two flats on different floors of the same tower share your journey and usually share known sockets, so set-up is short and the lead time is manageable. 3. Three or four active listings across a city: do not carry one. This is where the honest answer sells less. Carrying means set-up and pack-down at each property, a live socket at each, and arriving early enough at each for the air to settle - and you cannot give three properties in three buildings that lead time on the same Saturday. Leave the Vaayu in the listing you show most and attend personally, and put reed diffusers in the others: ₹749 for Morning Freshness, ₹799 for Garden Bloom or Evening Calm, ₹849 for Mountain Breeze or Fresh Brew, each lasting about 6 to 10 weeks and working on days nobody visits. 4. The arithmetic. Four Vaayus is 4 x ₹11,999 = ₹47,996. Two is ₹23,998; three is ₹35,997. One Vaayu plus three reeds at ₹749, ₹799 and ₹799 is ₹11,999 plus ₹2,347 = ₹14,346 - a difference of ₹33,650. 5. When one per listing is right. When every listing is premium, shown weekly, attended by you, and has a live supply. Then buy the second machine deliberately rather than by default. Hold one register across the portfolio either way, from the Hotel Collection family (water-based bottles from ₹299 for the ultrasonics only, never for a Vaayu). SOSA's blends are its own hotel-inspired interpretations and SOSA is not affiliated with any hotel brand. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531 with how many listings you have live. One line: carry one machine if you have one serious listing, or two in the same building. Across a city, leave one Vaayu (₹11,999) in the primary listing and use reeds from ₹749 in the rest - ₹14,346 against ₹47,996. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.

The three shapes a portfolio actually takes
The friction nobody costs into a carried machine, the arithmetic of the alternatives, and the point at which a second unit is genuinely the right purchase.
Why this works
Matching the purchase to the shape of your portfolio
The commercial standard: the SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 - waterless, app-scheduled, ~1000m³ coverage. Single rooms start on reeds from ₹749.
What carrying a machine actually costs, and it is not money
The Vaayu travels well - it is freestanding, lays flat on a console or a kitchen platform, mounts on a wall if you want it to, and draws about 5W at DC 12V and 1A, so it will run all day on any socket without anyone thinking about it. That is not where carrying goes wrong. It goes wrong on three practical points. The first is set-up and pack-down: a few minutes at each end of every viewing, in a job where you are frequently arriving with a client already in the lobby. The second is the socket. Vacant listings between owners very often have the supply disconnected, and a machine that cannot be plugged in is a machine you carried up four floors for nothing - which is why the power question is the first thing to establish about any property in your kit plan. The third and least discussed is lead time. The machine should be running well before the buyer arrives, so the air is even and settled rather than actively scenting at the door, and cold-starting as somebody walks in delivers the freshest, strongest output at the exact moment heavy scent reads as concealment. Giving one property that lead time is easy. Giving three properties in three buildings that lead time on one Saturday is the thing that quietly does not work.
Tip: the cost of carrying a machine is not the machine - it is having to be at every property early enough for the air to settle.
2
The arithmetic
Three portfolio shapes, added up by hand
Take a broker with four live listings and price the three honest options. One machine carried between all four: ₹11,999, plus the friction above, plus the acceptance that at least one property each weekend will be shown cold. One machine per listing: 4 x ₹11,999 = ₹47,996, with no carrying, no pack-down and no socket hunt, but four sockets that have to stay live and four pieces of your equipment sitting in properties you do not own. The mixed portfolio: one Vaayu at ₹11,999 in the listing you show most, plus reeds in the other three at ₹749, ₹799 and ₹799, which is ₹2,347, for a total of ₹14,346. The gap between the mixed shape and the machine-per-listing shape is ₹47,996 minus ₹14,346, or ₹33,650. For completeness: two machines are ₹23,998 and three are ₹35,997. None of these numbers is an argument on its own - a broker with four premium listings all shown weekly may well want four machines, and that is a legitimate purchase. The point is that the middle shape exists, costs about a third of the full one, and removes the friction that makes the carried single machine fail.
3
The upgrade point
When a second machine is genuinely the right purchase
Buy the second Vaayu when a specific listing meets three conditions rather than when the portfolio grows in the abstract. It is shown often enough that you are setting up and packing down more than about once a week. It has a live socket you can rely on. And it is a property where the connected volume is genuinely beyond what a passive reed can do - an open-plan 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft flat where the buyer walks a route rather than standing in one room, which is exactly the coverage one Vaayu is specified for. If a listing fails any of those, a reed at ₹749 to ₹849 is not a compromise there, it is the correct product. Two other cases justify a second unit outright: a property large enough that one machine is genuinely short of the volume, which is a sizing conversation rather than a portfolio one - see the villa coverage guide - and your own office, which is a permanent scenting job rather than an episodic one and should be treated like any other commercial premises rather than like a listing. There is a version of this decision where the answer is a bigger system rather than more units, but that is a full-premises conversation: Aangan at ₹25,999 and Meenar at ₹38,500 are HVAC systems for large connected floors, not for a flat you are showing.
Tip: buy the second machine for a specific listing that meets specific conditions - not because the portfolio grew.
The SOSA principle
The honest answer sells less than either extreme. One machine in the listing you show most, reeds in the rest - ₹14,346 rather than ₹47,996, and none of the carrying.
Carrying one machine fails on lead time, not on money. Four machines solve that at four times the price. The mixed portfolio solves it at about a third.

The SOSA commercial edit
Whatever your business sells, the system logic is the same: one signature, sized to the space, scheduled so it never depends on anyone's memory. A single small room or a consultation corner can sit happily on reeds with no power at all; a customer-facing floor wants the Vaayu; a venue or a flagship wants HVAC. Every SOSA system is supported from India, and the Hotel Collection blends - SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations - run across the powered ones. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Here is the full commercial range.

Honest notes for business owners: scenting compounds a well-run premises and rescues nothing. Ventilation, air-conditioning and cleaning come first, and fragrance never substitutes for hygiene or air quality - if the air is stale, damp or smoky, fix that at the source before any scent goes in. The people most exposed to the fragrance are not your customers but your STAFF, who work eight-hour shifts in it, which is why whisper calibration and locked settings are standard on every SOSA commercial install, and any staff sensitivity report should be treated as a recalibration signal rather than a complaint. Healthcare and wellness spaces need extra restraint: keep scenting to reception and circulation areas, never treatment rooms, and the practitioner's judgement overrides anything in this guide. The Hotel Collection scents are SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations; SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house, not affiliated with or endorsed by any hotel brand. Ultrasonic systems use the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance; the Vaayu and HVAC systems run waterless nebulising oil - the formats are not interchangeable. WhatsApp consult: +91 96192 18531. ISIPCA Versailles
A note from Sonal
I have walked into jewellery showrooms lit like museums, bridal boutiques with hand-embroidered walls, furniture floors styled down to the last cushion, clinics with better art than most galleries - and in almost every one of them, the air was an afterthought. Floor polish, packaging cartons, the phenyl from the morning mopping, the workshop or the loading bay drifting forward. The one thing every customer takes in before they see anything is the thing most businesses leave to chance.
I trained at ISIPCA in Versailles, where the world's scent-marketing perfumers learn the craft, and what I build for Indian businesses is the same architecture the global hospitality brands use, whatever you sell: one signature, sized to the space, run on a schedule - so the scent is as reliable as your lighting. A consultation corner may only need reeds; a full floor needs the Vaayu; a venue needs the HVAC systems. If you want it applied to your specific premises, message us on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 with the type of space and its approximate size - I read those descriptions myself.
Everything is made or assembled for Indian conditions, supported from Pune - and a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Your brand gets a memory; a girl gets a classroom. That equation has always felt right to me.
Frequently asked questions
How long does it actually take to set up and pack down a machine at a property?
The physical part is short - a few minutes each way to unpack it, stand it where you want it, plug it in, set the schedule on the app and reverse all of that afterwards. The part that costs you is not the handling but the waiting, because the machine needs to have been running for a decent stretch before the buyer arrives so the air is even and settled rather than freshly dosed at the door. That turns a five-minute task into a requirement to be at the property comfortably ahead of every appointment, which is easy once and difficult three times on the same afternoon in three different buildings. If your Saturdays look like that, the carried single machine is the wrong shape and no amount of practice will fix it.
Can I leave a Rs 11,999 machine in a property I do not own?
You can, and many brokers do, but agree it explicitly with the owner in writing before you do rather than mentioning it in passing. Three things need to be settled: that your equipment is in their property with their knowledge, who has keys and access while it is there, and that the socket it is plugged into stays live - a supply disconnected between owners will stop the machine without anyone noticing until a viewing. In an occupied property there is a fourth: the residents live in that air every day, so the setting has to be comfortable for them and not just right for a ninety-minute viewing, and their comfort takes priority over your presentation. If any of that is uncertain, reeds at Rs 749 to Rs 849 leave nothing of yours behind and nothing to be responsible for.
Is it better to buy a second Vaayu or upgrade to a bigger system?
They solve different problems and the choice is not really about budget. A second Vaayu at Rs 11,999 solves a portfolio problem: two properties needing even coverage at the same time. Aangan at Rs 25,999 and Meenar at Rs 38,500 are HVAC nebulising systems for large connected premises - a full commercial floor, a big villa, a permanent showroom - and they are not a portable answer to having more listings. If your problem is a single property whose connected volume is beyond what one unit covers, that is a sizing question and the villa coverage guide handles the arithmetic. If your problem is several separate properties, more units or reeds is the answer, not a bigger system. Send us the layouts on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 and we will tell you which of the two problems you actually have.
If I use reeds in the secondary listings, should they be the same fragrance as the machine?
Yes, hold one register across the portfolio. A buyer who sees three of your listings over one weekend should experience one broker rather than three unrelated rooms, and a consistent character across your properties is a quiet professional signal that costs nothing extra to arrange - you are choosing between products you were buying anyway. Where consistency does not matter is inside a single property: a washroom or a utility can carry something different without anybody noticing, because people mentally grant those rooms separate status. What you should avoid is two different characters meeting in a corridor, which reads as a confusing third smell rather than as two nice ones. Pick the register that suits the kind of property you sell and stay with it.
Will having a machine in every listing actually get me better results?
Not in the way the question implies, and we would rather be clear than encouraging. Ambient scent research supports improved evaluations of a space and the service around it, longer dwell and stronger recall, at moderate effect sizes. It does not support any claim about offers, closing rates, sale price or how quickly a property moves, and nobody honest can tell you that four machines will outperform one machine and three reeds on any of those measures. What more units genuinely buy you is consistency and less operational friction: every listing presented the same way without anyone having to remember to carry something. That is a reasonable thing to spend Rs 47,996 on if the portfolio justifies it. It is not a reasonable thing to expect a return on.

Facts verified August 2026: Ambient scent research consistently associates pleasant, congruent scenting with improved evaluations of a space and its service, longer dwell time and stronger brand recall at moderate effect sizes; congruence (scent matching the setting) and gentle intensity outperform strong scenting in replicated studies, and no scent effect survives poor ventilation, poor cleaning or poor indoor air quality. Olfactory memory is unusually durable: scent-linked brand memories persist and retrieve for years, which is the mechanism behind signature scents. Staff exposure is the design constraint, since employees breathe the fragrance for full shifts: whisper calibration, locked settings and sensitivity accommodations are standard practice, and healthcare and wellness settings call for extra restraint. SOSA systems: alcohol-free reed diffusers from ₹749 for single rooms with no power needed; Sukoon 500ml ultrasonic (₹1,899) and Megh 6L ultrasonic (₹3,499) run the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance (from ₹299; refills from ₹999, 100ml ₹999); SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebulising machine, ~1000m³ coverage, Bluetooth app and timer; SOSA Aangan (₹25,999) and SOSA Meenar (₹38,500) are HVAC nebulising systems for approximately 8,000-10,000 and 12,000-18,000 sq ft respectively.
