Does air conditioning make a reed diffuser work better or worse?
Both, and it is worth knowing which is which. A running AC recirculates air inside a closed room, which distributes fragrance evenly and is why a cooled room usually smells strongest of a diffuser. It also dries the air, which speeds evaporation from the reeds. Expect better distribution and a shorter bottle life at the same time. Neither is a fault, and the practical response is fewer reeds rather than more.
Why does the living room smell of cooking again after the AC has been running a while?
Because the aerosol was distributed before you cooled the room, and most of it is no longer in the air — it condensed onto cushions, curtains, upholstery and walls, and it re-releases slowly for hours. Ventilation clears the airborne fraction in minutes; the deposited fraction returns. That is why the sequence is extraction, then airing, then fragrance, and why no diffuser and no machine is a substitute for the first two steps.
Would a bigger diffuser machine cover a large shared kitchen and living room better?
