Founder Diaries · Reed Diffuser & Home Fragrance Gifting
By Sonal Sahani · ISIPCA Versailles 12 min read Updated September 2026
It would be a good change, and it is riskier than it looks - both of those are true and the second one gets left out. A gift you have sent every year is no longer just a gift; it is a fixture, and swapping it is a decision the family will notice and read something into. The three duo sets are ₹1,498, ₹1,548 and ₹1,598 for two 50ml bottles in one box. Worth being precise about the phrase "keep using", though, because a reed runs about 6 to 10 weeks and then it is finished.
SOSA Warmth and Bloom reed diffuser duo gift set, two 50ml bottles, Rs 1,598
SOSA Warmth & Bloom reed duo · the one that reads as chosen ₹1,598 →
The set for a family whose taste you already know, when you want the change to be unmistakably deliberate. SOSA Warmth & Bloom, ₹1,598 for two 50ml bottles - Fresh Brew coffee-vanilla with Garden Bloom rose and night jasmine, the most declarative pairing published, about 6 to 10 weeks each, both halves with a refill at ₹2,399 and ₹3,499. If you know the family less well, Fresh & Grounded at ₹1,548 is the quieter change.
Quick answers — read this first
Is a reed diffuser combo a good replacement for an annual dry-fruit gift box? It is, with one honesty check. A 50ml duo set is ₹1,498 to ₹1,598 for two bottles in one box, each running about 6 to 10 weeks, needing no flame, no socket and no water. Unlike a food box it is not shared out - it stays with the household, which is a change in who the gift is for.

Will they actually keep using it? For about 6 to 10 weeks per bottle, which is the only figure published. After that it is finished. Refills at ₹2,399 for 300ml and ₹3,499 for 500ml are published for four of the five scents, but buying one is their decision rather than part of your gift. Evening Calm publishes no refill.

Is changing a long-standing annual gift a risk? Yes, and worth naming. A food box cannot be wrong and is shared with whoever is in the house. A fragrance is in their rooms for weeks and can be wrong. If you change, Fresh & Grounded at ₹1,548 is the least sweet and least floral of the three published pairings, which is the lowest-risk version of the change.
The short answer
Short answer: Yes, and go in with your eyes open. A duo set at Rs 1,498 to Rs 1,598 is two 50ml bottles in one box, about 6 to 10 weeks each, needing no flame, socket or water. But a food box cannot be wrong and a fragrance can, it is not shared out the way a food box is, and keep using means about two to three months rather than indefinitely.
The pick: A 50ml duo from ₹1,498, and Fresh & Grounded at ₹1,548 as the lowest-risk way to change a gift the family has come to expect.
Why: Two bottles in one box give the change some visible weight without needing assembly, they ask nothing of the household, and if the scent is not to their taste it is gone in about ten weeks rather than sitting there.
Sending something when somebody is having a hard time - at a glanceKeep it small - candle ₹399, attar ₹379, car scent ₹449For their home - reed diffuser ₹749, nothing to switch onSay the words yourself - no card goes in the parcelNever - a parcel instead of turning up
A gift cannot change how somebody's week went, and a page that suggests otherwise is not worth reading. What a small parcel does is tell a person you were thinking about them on a day when nothing made you - which is a real thing to say, and worth saying. Keep it small, because a large one asks somebody already short of energy to produce a reaction, and send the words separately, because the object cannot carry them.
Straight answer
I send the same family a dry-fruit gift box every Diwali. Would a reed diffuser combo be a better thing to send, and will they keep using it?
A duo set is a good answer here, and there are two things to be straight about first because most advice skips them. The first is that changing a standing annual gift is itself a message. The family expects the box. When something different turns up instead, that is a visible decision and they will read intent into it, which is usually fine and occasionally is not - if the box was a running thread between two families, replacing it silently can land oddly. A line saying you wanted to send something different this year does more work than any amount of choosing the right scent. The second is the phrase "keep using". A reed runs about 6 to 10 weeks - the only duration SOSA publishes, and it covers both the 50ml and the 130ml, because the larger bottle is for a larger room rather than a longer life. Then it is finished. Refills are published at ₹2,399 for 300ml and ₹3,499 for 500ml for four of the five scents, and Evening Calm publishes none - but in any case a refill is a purchase they make, not part of what you sent. So "something they keep using" honestly means two to three months of use, not a permanent fixture. On one bottle or two: a dry-fruit box has physical bulk, and a single 50ml next to what you have been sending for years reads thin, so the 50ml duo at ₹1,498 to ₹1,598 is the closest thing in the range to the weight of the gift you are replacing. There is no three-bottle set and no set composed to order, and SOSA has no wrapping, no ribbon and no gift box service - the duo already being one box is the presentation. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
A dry-fruit box is eaten by whoever happens to be in the house. A reed diffuser belongs to the household. You are not only changing the gift, you are changing who it is for, and that is the part worth thinking about.
The closest match in weight to what you have been sending: a 50ml duo from ₹1,498 - two bottles, one box, about 6 to 10 weeks each, nothing to assemble and nothing for them to plug in.
Reed duo sets from ₹1,498

What the dry-fruit box was doing, and what a reed does instead

Three things decide whether this change works, and only the third is about which diffuser. Start with what the old gift was actually doing, because that is what you have to replace.

1
The thing you are replacing
A dry-fruit box cannot be wrong, and that is most of why it has lasted
Worth saying clearly, because it explains why so many people send the same thing for a decade. A food box is shared out among whoever is in the house over a fortnight, including visitors and staff, so it spreads rather than settling anywhere. It requires no decision from the household. It has no taste implication - nobody concludes anything about you from dried fruit. And it is physically large, so it reads as substantial the moment it is set down.

A reed diffuser is the opposite on all four counts. It is not shared; it goes into one household's rooms. It requires a small decision about where to put it. It has a taste implication, because a fragrance in your home is an opinion somebody else had about your home. And a ₹1,498 box of two 50ml bottles is a fraction of the volume of what you have been sending, even though it is the same sort of money.

None of that argues against the change. It argues for going in knowing what you are giving up: certainty and bulk, in exchange for something that is a choice rather than a formality. If the family has ever said anything about the food box - that they have too much of it, that nobody eats it, that it gets passed on - you have your answer and the risk is low. If they have never mentioned it, the risk is real and it is worth a sentence of explanation with the gift.
Tip: If they have ever hinted the food box goes uneaten, the change is easy. If they have never mentioned it, say why you changed.
2
The honest bit
"Something they keep using" means about two to three months, not forever
It is worth being precise, because this is the exact claim the question is built on. All five SOSA reeds run about 6 to 10 weeks. That is the only duration published and it covers both sizes - the 130ml is for a larger room, not for a longer life. Two bottles in a duo do not add up to twenty weeks either, because they run in two different rooms at the same time.

So the true comparison is: a dry-fruit box is consumed over roughly a fortnight and a duo set is in use for roughly two to three months. That is a real improvement on the thing you are replacing and it is not permanence, and the difference matters if what you had in mind was a gift that is still going next Diwali.

Continuation exists but it is theirs, not yours. Refills are published at ₹2,399 for 300ml and ₹3,499 for 500ml, covering Morning Freshness, Garden Bloom, Mountain Breeze and Fresh Brew. Evening Calm publishes no refill, and Evening Calm is one of the two bottles in the ₹1,498 Day & Night set - so the cheapest duo is the one where half the gift has no published way to carry on. If "keep using" is genuinely the brief, that fact should move Day & Night down your list rather than up it, whatever the ₹50 says.
3
The sizing
One bottle or two, judged against the bulk of what you have been sending
In most of this bank the answer to one bottle or two comes from counting rooms, and it still does here - but a replacement gift has a second constraint the others do not. What you send has to sit comfortably beside the memory of what you sent last year.

A single 50ml at ₹749 to ₹849 is a good object and it is visibly smaller than a large assembled gift box of dried fruit. A single 130ml at ₹1,249 to ₹1,349 is more money in one bottle and still one object. A 50ml duo at ₹1,498 to ₹1,598 is two bottles in one box, which is the closest the range gets to the visual weight of the thing you are replacing, and it is also two rooms rather than one - so the extra money is buying coverage rather than appearance.

Do still check the rooms, because the room test overrides the appearance test. Two 50ml bottles suit two small-to-medium rooms - a bedroom, a hallway, an entrance, a study. The 130ml duo at ₹2,498 to ₹2,598 is for two genuinely large rooms and is not a grander version of the same gift; put it in two small closed bedrooms and both bottles get moved. No square-footage rating is published for any reed, so this is guidance rather than a specification. And if you were budgeting somewhere around two thousand rupees, note that no reed diffuser and no duo set is published between ₹1,598 and ₹2,398 - the duo comes in under your number and there is nothing above it until the larger size.
Tip: The duo is the closest thing in the range to the weight of a large food box, and it earns the money on rooms rather than on looks.
SOSA Fresh and Grounded reed diffuser duo gift set, Rs 1,548
The idea this whole question turns on
A duo is a second room, not a bigger gift for the same room
The 50ml duo sets are ₹1,498, ₹1,548 and ₹1,598 for two 50ml bottles - which is two small-to-medium rooms, not one room handled twice as hard. The 130ml duos at ₹2,498 to ₹2,598 are two large rooms. So the question to answer before the price is how many rooms you actually want handled, and how big they are. Somebody in a one-bedroom flat who spends every evening in the living room does not need a second bottle; somebody who has just taken possession of a 3BHK where every room smells of paint does.

Work it out in this order
Changing an annual gift without it landing oddly
  1. Say why you changed. One line with the gift does more than any scent choice.
  2. Match the weight: a 50ml duo, Rs 1,498 to Rs 1,598, not a single bottle.
  3. Pick low-risk: Fresh and Grounded Rs 1,548 is the least sweet and least floral.
  4. Be honest with yourself that it runs about 6 to 10 weeks, then it is finished.
The SOSA principle
An annual gift stops being a gift and becomes a fixture, and replacing a fixture is a louder act than sending one for the first time. That is not a reason to avoid it. It is a reason to explain it, in one sentence, rather than leaving the family to work out what changed.
Choose the quietest pairing for the same reason. When you are already making one visible change, the fragrance is not the place to make a second one.

Which pairing survives a change of habit, and what continuation really costs

For a family you send to every year but whose rooms you may not have stood in recently, the ranking is about risk rather than preference. Fresh & Grounded ₹1,548 is Morning Freshness, Malabar lemon and mint, with Mountain Breeze, Himalayan pine, sage and cedar - dry and green, the least sweet and least floral of the three published pairings, and both halves have a refill published. That makes it the lowest-risk way to change a long-standing gift. Day & Night ₹1,498 pairs lemon-mint with Evening Calm, Himalayan lavender and chamomile, the two quietest scents in the range, and is equally easy to receive - with the continuation gap noted above. Warmth & Bloom ₹1,598 is Fresh Brew, Coorg coffee and Kerala vanilla, with Garden Bloom, British rose and night jasmine - the most declarative of the three and the one that most reads as chosen rather than as household supply, which is an argument for it when the family is close and an argument against it when you are already changing the habit. Evening Calm is the name on a lavender and chamomile bottle and describes what it smells of, nothing more.

The SOSA gift edit
Four ways to change the annual gift
The option Who it suits, and where it fails
Keep sending the dry-fruit box · the safe option No risk, no decision, shared with everybody in the house and impossible to get wrong. It fails only against your own brief: you wanted to send something different that stays in use longer than a fortnight. If the family has never given any sign of being tired of it, this remains a perfectly respectable answer.
One 50ml reed · ₹749 to ₹849 A lovely object, no flame, no socket, about 6 to 10 weeks, and a small change to make. It fails on weight: set beside the memory of a large food box it reads as a step down, and a gift that has run for years is the wrong place for an unexplained reduction. Good as an addition rather than as the replacement.
A 50ml duo set · ₹1,498 to ₹1,598 The closest match in the range to what you have been sending: two bottles, one box, two small-to-medium rooms, nothing to assemble and nothing for them to run. It fails if the household is one person in one room, and it fails against the words "keep using" if you meant a year rather than two to three months.
A 130ml duo set · ₹2,498 to ₹2,598 The same three pairings in the larger bottle, right when both rooms are genuinely large and open. It fails as a way of making the change feel more generous, because two large bottles in two small closed rooms is a worse outcome than the cheaper set, and it changes the scale of an annual gift rather more than you may intend.
SOSA Warmth and Bloom reed diffuser duo gift set, Rs 1,598
The three pairings, and the one trade inside them
Three sets exist, the pairings are fixed, and one of them has no refill path
Day & Night ₹1,498 is lemon-mint with lavender-chamomile. Fresh & Grounded ₹1,548 is lemon-mint with pine, sage and cedar - the least sweet and the least floral of the three. Warmth & Bloom ₹1,598 is coffee-vanilla with rose and night jasmine, the most declarative. A set cannot be composed to order, so any other pairing is two separate bottles rather than a box. And one real trade: refills at ₹2,399 and ₹3,499 are published for four of the five scents, but not for Evening Calm - which is half of the cheapest set.
Compare the three duo sets →

Two last practical points. On presentation: what you have been sending is a large assembled gift box, and SOSA does not assemble anything - there is no wrapping, no ribbon, no gift box service and no message-card service, and no personal engraving anywhere. The only branding available is a custom label or logo on product. The duo set arrives as the box the product is sold in, which is why it is the one format in the range that reads as a present without you building one, but it is worth expecting a smaller and quieter object than the thing it is replacing. On scale: nothing in the reed range scents a whole home, and there is no three-bottle set to make it do so. Two reeds handle two rooms. A family home with three rooms you want covered means a duo plus a separate third bottle from ₹749, bought as two purchases, and if what you really want is one fragrance running through a large open house then that is a machine question and a different budget entirely - Vaayu is ₹11,999 and is rated for roughly 1000 m3 of connected air, which assumes the doors are open.

SOSA Day and Night reed diffuser duo gift set, Rs 1,498
Morning Freshness lemon-mint with Evening Calm lavender-chamomile. The cheapest of the three at ₹1,498, and the one whose second bottle publishes no refill - worth knowing before you choose on price alone.

SOSA Fresh and Grounded reed diffuser duo gift set, Rs 1,548
Lemon-mint with Himalayan pine, sage and cedar at ₹1,548. The least floral and the least sweet of the three pairings, which makes it the safest of them to send into a home you have never stood in.
₹1,548 · 50ml x 2
SOSA Warmth and Bloom reed diffuser duo gift set, Rs 1,598
Coorg coffee-vanilla with British rose and night jasmine at ₹1,598. The most declarative pairing in the range, and the one that most reads as chosen rather than as household supply.
₹1,598 · 50ml x 2
When the answer is a machine rather than more bottles
A bottle asks nothing. A machine asks for water, power and attention every week
Two reed diffusers cover two rooms. Nothing in the reed range covers a whole home, and no square-footage rating is published for any of them. If a home genuinely needs more than rooms handled one at a time, that is a machine question. Sukoon at ₹1,899 and Boond at ₹899 are ultrasonic cool-mist machines running the water-based Hotel Collection from ₹299 - they need water, a socket and refilling, which is a real ask of somebody who did not choose them. SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 is the waterless one: cold-air nebulising of undiluted oil, rated for approximately 1000 m3 of connected air, with a Bluetooth app and timer, a 400ml tank, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, DC 12V / 1A 5W mains power and CE, RoHS and SGS marks. That rating assumes one connected body of air, so a Vaayu suits a large open home or a business and is the wrong gift for a three-bedroom flat with every door closed. Vaayu runs waterless nebuliser oil at ₹1,049 for 100 gm and ₹1,849 for 300 gm and never takes the ₹299 water-based bottle. All of it adds a scent to a space; none of it removes one.

A gift that has gone out every year for a decade is not a gift any more, it is a fixture. Changing it is allowed. Changing it without a word of explanation is what makes it land strangely.

The SOSA gifting range

Two questions settle almost every reed diffuser gift, and the first one is not price. How big is the room it is going into? A 50ml suits a bedroom, a study, a hallway or a first diffuser; a 130ml suits an open-plan living and dining area, and it is genuinely too much for a small closed bedroom. Then: how much do you actually know about their taste? The less you know, the less declarative the scent should be - Morning Freshness is the safest of the five for a home you have never stood in, and Fresh Brew coffee-vanilla is the strongest opinion in the range. Price follows those two answers rather than leading them.

SOSA reed duo sets, 130ml x 2 The same three pairings, larger ₹2,498, ₹2,548 and ₹2,598 - for two genuinely large rooms, and too much for two small closed bedrooms from ₹2,498

SOSA reed refills 300ml and 500ml ₹2,399 and ₹3,499, published for four of the five scents - Evening Calm publishes none, which matters if the gift was the Day & Night duo ₹2,399 / ₹3,499
SOSA Sukoon Ultrasonic cool-mist machine ₹1,899 plus water-based Hotel Collection fragrance from ₹299 - a machine asks for water and power every week, which a bottle never does ₹1,899

There are three duo sets and only three, and the pairings are fixed - a set cannot be composed to order, so any other pairing is simply two separate bottles. There is no three-bottle or four-bottle set, and SOSA has no hamper, gift box, wrapping, ribbon or message-card service; the only branding available anywhere is a custom label or logo on product. All five reeds run about 6 to 10 weeks, which is the only duration SOSA publishes, and no square-footage rating is published for any reed. The honest price sheet
The published ladder, including the gap in it
Everything below is on the live product pages. Anything not on this list is not something a page like this should state.
  • One 50ml reed - Morning Freshness ₹749, Garden Bloom and Evening Calm ₹799, Mountain Breeze and Fresh Brew ₹849. One 130ml reed - ₹1,249 to ₹1,349. All five run about 6 to 10 weeks in either size, because the larger bottle is for a larger room and not for a longer life.
  • The three duo sets - Day & Night ₹1,498, Fresh & Grounded ₹1,548 and Warmth & Bloom ₹1,598 as two 50ml bottles; ₹2,498, ₹2,548 and ₹2,598 as two 130ml bottles. These three pairings are the whole set range - a set is not composed to order, and there is no three-bottle or four-bottle set.
  • The gap worth knowing about - the ladder runs one 50ml ₹749, one 130ml ₹1,249, a 50ml duo ₹1,498, then no reed diffuser and no duo set published between ₹1,598 and ₹2,398 (the ₹1,899 Sukoon machine sits in that band, but it is a machine and not a bottle), then a 130ml duo ₹2,498. A budget of about ₹2,000 is therefore answered by the 50ml duo coming in under it, not by stretching to the larger set - the larger set is a room-size decision.
  • Refills - 300ml ₹2,399 and 500ml ₹3,499, published for four of the five scents. Evening Calm publishes no refill, and Evening Calm is one of the two bottles in the ₹1,498 Day & Night duo - so the cheapest set is the one whose second bottle has no published continuation.
  • Machines, if rooms are not the unit - Boond ₹899 and Sukoon ₹1,899 run the water-based Hotel Collection from ₹299 and need water, power and refilling. Vaayu ₹11,999 is waterless, rated for approximately 1000 m3 of connected air. Megh ₹5,999.
  • Not published, and therefore never stated here: any square-footage or room-volume rating for a reed diffuser, any duration other than about 6 to 10 weeks, how often reeds should be turned, any bulk rate, minimum order quantity, slab or volume discount, any dispatch or delivery timing, any case pack or carton size, any claim about how a recipient will feel, and any claim that a gift changes a business result. Those go to WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.

A note from Sonal

The question I get most often about the duo sets is not about scent. It is a slightly embarrassed version of: will one bottle look cheap? And I understand it, because a single 50ml reed in a box is a small object to hand to somebody whose house you have just walked into for the first time.

But the honest answer is that a duo is not a bigger gift. It is a second room. That is the whole difference, and it is a much more useful way to think about it than price. If the person you are buying for lives in a one-bedroom flat and spends their evenings in the living room, the second bottle does not make the gift better - it makes the gift into something they have to find a home for. If they have just moved into a 3BHK and every room smells of paint, the second bottle is the point.

Where I would push back hardest is on the 130ml duo. People reach for it because it is the most expensive thing in the reed range and it feels like the safest way to be generous. The 130ml is the large room's bottle, not the better bottle. Two of them in two small closed bedrooms is not a generous gift; it is two rooms nobody wants to sit in. A 50ml duo at ₹1,498 in the right two rooms beats a 130ml duo at ₹2,498 in the wrong two, every single time.

And the part I will not pretend about: there are three pairings and they are fixed. I cannot put Garden Bloom and Evening Calm in a box for you. If that is the combination you want, it is two bottles rather than a set, and it is worth knowing that before you decide whether the box mattered to you in the first place.

Frequently asked questions

Is a reed diffuser combo a sensible replacement for an annual dry-fruit gift box?
Yes, with two caveats worth knowing. A food box cannot be wrong and is shared with everybody in the house; a fragrance sits in one household's rooms and can be wrong. And a duo set at Rs 1,498 to Rs 1,598 is physically much smaller than what you have been sending, even at similar money. A line explaining the change does most of the work.
Will the family actually keep using it?
For about 6 to 10 weeks per bottle, which is the only figure SOSA publishes and covers both the 50ml and the 130ml. After that it is finished. Refills at Rs 2,399 for 300ml and Rs 3,499 for 500ml are published for four of the five scents, but buying one is their decision rather than part of your gift, and Evening Calm publishes no refill.
Should I send one bottle or a two-bottle set?
A duo, in this particular case. A single 50ml from Rs 749 is a good object but visibly lighter than the box you have been sending, and an annual gift is the wrong place for an unexplained step down. A 50ml duo at Rs 1,498 to Rs 1,598 is two bottles in one box and two small-to-medium rooms, which is the closest match in the range.
Which fragrance is the safest choice for a family whose home I do not know well?
Fresh and Grounded at Rs 1,548, which pairs Morning Freshness lemon and mint with Mountain Breeze pine, sage and cedar. It is the least sweet and least floral of the three published pairings, and both halves have a refill published. Warmth and Bloom at Rs 1,598 is the most declarative and suits a family whose taste you already know.
Does SOSA assemble a large gift box the way my current supplier does?
No. There is no such service, no wrapping, no ribbon and no message-card service, and no large assembled gift box or basket of items of any kind. A duo set is the box the product is sold in, which is why it is the format that reads as a present without anybody building one. Anything else is discussed on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531.
SOSA fragrance gift
Take the next step
Match the weight, lower the risk, say why you changed
A 50ml duo from ₹1,498 is the closest thing in the range to the bulk of a large food box, and it is two rooms rather than one. Fresh & Grounded ₹1,548 is the least declarative of the three and the safest way to change a long-standing gift. A single 50ml from ₹749 works better as an addition than as the replacement. Tell SOSA on WhatsApp how many rooms and how open they are.
Not sure which one suits the person you are buying for? Send SOSA their age, whether they drive, whether they like their home scented and your budget on WhatsApp, and you will get an honest answer - including when the cheaper product is the better gift.

SOSA publishes no bulk or wholesale rate, no minimum order quantity, no volume slab or discount, no dispatch or delivery window, no order cut-off, no payment or credit term, no rate card, no case pack, no carton size and no unit weight, and none is stated anywhere on this page; bulk orders are welcome and are discussed on WhatsApp. The only branding available is a custom label or logo on product - there is no custom box, printed sleeve, insert card, gift wrap, ribbon, message card or hamper service. SOSA has no shop, showroom, stockist, counter or warehouse in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mysuru or any other city, and nothing on this page should be read as claiming one; where a city is named, it refers to the homes and the buyers in that city and nothing more. Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent and does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify odour, and no SOSA product makes any health, antibacterial, air-purifying or wellbeing claim. No claim is made anywhere on this page about mood, stress, calm, sleep, comfort or wellbeing: fragrance is a scent, not a treatment, and where a product name contains a word such as Calm that is a name and not an effect. No claim is made about how any recipient will feel about a gift, and no claim is made that a gift changes any business result - not a satisfaction score, repeat business, referrals, reviews, retention or recall.
