At ten thousand rupees this question changes shape entirely. Under ₹5,000 you are deciding which rooms to leave out; at ₹10,000 the rooms are already covered and the money is looking for somewhere to go. The second five thousand does not buy more rooms — it buys the same rooms permanently. And the most tempting place to put it, the commercial machine sitting just over the line at ₹11,999, is the one place it should not go.
Quick answers — read this first
Five rooms: five Sukoons = ₹9,495, fifteen 15ml scents included.

Four rooms + supply: four Sukoons ₹7,596 + a 300ml ₹1,799 = ₹9,395.

Four rooms + every scent: 2 Sukoons + 2 Boonds + 300ml + Pack of 7 = ₹9,194.

Not this: a Vaayu at ₹11,999 — over budget, and waterless, so it cannot run the Hotel Collection.
The short answer
Short answer: Four Sukoons at ₹7,596 plus one 300ml bottle at ₹1,799 — ₹9,395. Four separate rooms, twelve 15ml scents included in the machine boxes, and years of fragrance supply at about ₹6 a millilitre. That leaves ₹605 from ₹10,000.
If you need a fifth room: Five Sukoons is ₹9,495. It reaches five genuinely separate air spaces, which no single machine at any price can do, because fragrance does not pass through a closed door.
What ₹10,000 should not buy: A Vaayu at ₹11,999 is over the ceiling anyway, but the real objection is that it is waterless — it runs neat oil, cannot take the water-based Hotel Collection, and is designed for one large connected volume rather than a set of closed rooms.
Straight answer
How do I scent my home for under ₹10,000?
1. Four Sukoons and one large bottle, ₹9,395. Four Sukoons at ₹1,899 each is ₹7,596 and covers four separate rooms — a living-dining zone and three bedrooms, which is a full 3BHK or most of a 4BHK. Add one 300ml bottle at ₹1,799 and the whole house runs on one fragrance for years. Twelve 15ml scents arrive in the boxes.

2. Or five Sukoons and no bottle, ₹9,495. If you genuinely have five separate rooms in daily use, this is the build. Fifteen 15ml scents come with the machines, which is roughly a year of running the house before you buy any fragrance. The trade is depth for reach, and reach is the thing you cannot buy any other way.

3. Or four rooms and every scent in the range, ₹9,194. Two Sukoons ₹3,798, two Boonds ₹1,798, a 300ml ₹1,799 and the Pack of 7 ₹1,799. Four rooms, one standing supply, and all seven fragrances at 15ml to work out which belongs where. This is the build for someone who cares more about the composition than the count.

4. The one place a Megh belongs. Two Sukoons ₹3,798, a Megh ₹3,499 and a 300ml ₹1,799 is ₹9,096. The Megh earns its place only in a single dry, heavily air-conditioned bedroom where you want up to 100 hours a fill and some humidity — never as a coverage upgrade, since at 215 sq ft it covers less than a Sukoon.

5. Do not stretch to the Vaayu. At ₹11,999 the Vaayu is over this ceiling, and the reason to skip it is not the price. It is waterless, runs neat oil, and cannot take the water-based Hotel Collection at all. It is a genuinely serious machine for a villa's connected common volume, and it does nothing for a flat full of closed doors.

TL;DR: ₹10,000 buys four rooms and years of fragrance for ₹9,395, or five separate rooms for ₹9,495. The second half of the budget should go into depth and permanence, not into stretching for a ₹11,999 commercial machine that cannot even run the Hotel Collection.
SOSA Sukoon 500ml ultrasonic cool mist diffuser
Four of these is most of the budget
SOSA Sukoon · 500ml ₹1,899
270–320 sq ft per machine, 16–18 hours a fill on low, a remote and steady / 2H / 4H timers — and three 15ml Hotel Collection scents in every box. Four of them is ₹7,596, twelve bottles of fragrance, and four rooms that no single machine could reach through closed doors.

What the second ₹5,000 is actually for

Below five thousand rupees every decision is about reach: which rooms get a machine and which do not. Above it, reach is largely solved — most Indian flats have two or three rooms worth scenting and ₹5,000 covers three — so the extra money has to justify itself differently, and the honest list of what it can buy is shorter than people expect. It buys a fourth or fifth room, if one exists. It buys a 300ml bottle at about ₹6 a millilitre instead of running on 15ml bottles at about ₹20. It buys the Pack of 7 so you can find the right fragrance for each room rather than guessing once. What it cannot buy is a better result in a room that already has the right machine in it.

This matters because ₹10,000 sits close enough to the commercial range to be dangerous. The Vaayu is ₹11,999, and a budget of ten thousand naturally drifts towards it — the numbers are adjacent and the spec sheet is impressive. It is the wrong machine for almost every flat, for two reasons that have nothing to do with money. First, it is rated in cubic metres of connected volume, which is a measurement that means something in a double-height villa atrium and nothing at all in a home where four bedroom doors are shut; a machine of any power is worth zero on the far side of a closed door. Second, it is waterless. It atomises neat oil and cannot run the water-based Hotel Collection, so choosing it means leaving the fragrance range this whole guide is built on. Five Sukoons at ₹9,495 reach five separate rooms and run any of the seven scents. One Vaayu reaches one volume and runs none of them. For a flat, that is not a close call.

The three places the second ₹5,000 should go

1
PLACE ONE · THE LAST ROOM
A fourth or fifth machine, if the room is real
SOSA Sukoon diffuserSOSA Sukoon₹1,899Reach is the one thing money buys that nothing else can substitute for, so if there is a room you use daily and it has no machine, that is where ₹1,899 goes first. The test is honest occupancy, not floor plan: a third bedroom somebody sleeps in every night qualifies; a guest room used at Diwali does not, and is better served by carrying a Boond in for the weekend. Four Sukoons is ₹7,596 and five is ₹9,495, and both leave change from ₹10,000 — but only buy the fifth if you can name who is in that room on an ordinary Tuesday.
The rule: a machine per separate air space, and no machine for a corridor at any budget.
2
PLACE TWO · THE STANDING SUPPLY
One 300ml, and the running cost stops mattering
At this budget there is no reason to be buying fragrance in 15ml bottles. A 300ml at ₹1,799 is about ₹6 a millilitre against roughly ₹20 in a 15ml — the same liquid at a third of the rate. Four machines at four drops a tank and one fill a day get through around 24ml a month between them, so a single 300ml is well over a year of supply for the whole house, and the monthly fragrance line settles at about ₹144. Buy one bottle for the house rather than one per machine; there is nothing to be gained by splitting it and everything to be gained by having every room on the same fragrance at slightly different volumes.
The rate: 15ml ₹299 ≈ ₹20/ml · 100ml ₹999 ≈ ₹10/ml · 300ml ₹1,799 ≈ ₹6/ml.
3
PLACE THREE · GETTING THE SCENT RIGHT
The Pack of 7, once
The expensive mistake at this budget is not a machine — it is committing a four-room house to the wrong fragrance. The Pack of 7 at ₹1,799 gives you all seven Hotel Collection scents at 15ml, against ₹2,093 buying them singly, and it is the cheapest way to find out that the Four Seasons-inspired Warm Welcome you loved in the living room is too sweet in a bedroom. Run each one for a week in the room you are considering it for. Then buy the 300ml of whichever survived. Buy the pack once in your life; it is testing, not supply, at about ₹17 a millilitre.

What ₹10,000 buys in your home

Read to the row that matches your home. In the smaller sizes the honest observation is that you cannot spend the whole ceiling usefully — and the correct response to that is to stop, not to invent a room.

Studio / 1RK Sukoon + 300ml + Pack of 7 + a reed ₹1,899 + ₹1,799 + ₹1,799 + ₹749 = ₹6,246 You cannot usefully spend the rest
1BHK 2 × Sukoon + 300ml + Pack of 7 ₹3,798 + ₹1,799 + ₹1,799 = ₹7,396 Two rooms is the whole flat — stop here
2BHK 3 × Sukoon + 300ml + a reed for the entrance ₹5,697 + ₹1,799 + ₹749 = ₹8,245 The third Sukoon only if the second bedroom is used
3BHK ★ 4 × Sukoon + 300ml ₹7,596 + ₹1,799 = ₹9,395 Four rooms and years of supply — the best fit for this budget
4BHK 5 × Sukoon, fifteen 15ml included ₹9,495 Buy the fifth only if somebody sleeps there on a Tuesday
One very dry AC bedroom 2 × Sukoon + Megh + 300ml ₹3,798 + ₹3,499 + ₹1,799 = ₹9,096 The Megh is runtime and humidity, not coverage
Duplex or villa The bedrooms only, at Sukoon prices ₹7,596 for four The connected common volume needs a Vaayu at ₹11,999 — over this ceiling, and waterless
The trap at this budget: stretching to ₹11,999 for a commercial machine. The Vaayu is rated in cubic metres of connected volume, which describes a villa atrium and not a flat with four shut doors — and being waterless, it cannot run the Hotel Collection at all.

Where the second five thousand goes
The SOSA principle
Five Sukoons at ₹9,495 reach five separate rooms. One machine at ₹11,999 reaches one connected volume — and cannot run the Hotel Collection at all.
Reach is decided by walls, not by watts. In a flat full of closed doors, more machines beats a bigger machine at every budget.

Running four or five machines as one house

At this scale the risk stops being coverage and becomes incoherence. Four machines with four fragrances produce a home that has no smell of its own — just a series of arguments at every doorway, because adjacent rooms mix whenever a door is open. Run one idea at two volumes. Something clean and bright through the public rooms — Four Seasons-inspired Warm Welcome or W Hotels-inspired Lobby Bar — and something quieter in the bedrooms, Westin-inspired White Tea Serenity or The Ritz-Carlton-inspired Quiet Luxury, with a shared material so the transition reads as a change of register rather than a change of subject. If you would rather run one scent everywhere, that always works and is what most good hotels do.

Then dose down as the machine count goes up. Four machines at six drops each is a house that announces itself from the lift, and the person who notices it least is you — your nose adapts to a constant smell within about twenty minutes, so the household is always the last to know. Three to four drops a tank in every machine, and remember that a Boond's 300ml tank makes the same drop count a stronger mixture than a Sukoon's 500ml — use three where you would use four. Ask somebody who does not live there to walk in and tell you honestly.

Then schedule rather than leave running. Use the Sukoon's 2H and 4H timers so the public rooms come up in the early evening and the bedrooms an hour before sleep, instead of every machine running all day. It uses less fragrance, it is better for the machines, and it produces a stronger impression because your nose registers change rather than steady state. Place each unit a metre off the floor with a foot of clear space, out of the path of a fan or an AC, and away from the doorway rather than beside it. Use filtered water in hard-water cities, rinse tanks between scents, and never put raw essential or carrier oils into any of these machines.

The second five thousand rupees does not buy more rooms. It buys the same rooms permanently.

Honest notes before you buy: totals are hardware plus the fragrance listed; every Sukoon includes three 15ml Hotel Collection scents of your choice, so the machine-heavy builds work from the day they arrive. Four machines at four drops a tank and one fill a day use roughly 24ml a month between them, which is about ₹144 on a 300ml bottle at ₹1,799. These are ultrasonic, water-based fragrances and they add a little humidity — welcome in a dry or air-conditioned home, less so in a coastal monsoon. They are not for reed diffusers, which run oil-based fragrance, nor for the waterless Vaayu (₹11,999) and Aangan (₹25,999), which run neat oil. The machines are imported from China; the Hotel Collection fragrances are composed and made in India. Use filtered water in hard-water areas, rinse between scents, keep fragrance away from children and pets. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand. A note from Sonal

The message I most often have to send at this budget is that somebody has enough machines already. Ten thousand rupees will buy five Sukoons, and I have never once specified five for a flat. Four is the most I have put into a home I would describe as well scented, and three is more common than four.

What I would spend the rest on is the fragrance decision, because that is where the real waste happens at this level. Somebody buys four machines and one 300ml of a scent they chose from a description, and six months later three of those rooms are running something they have stopped enjoying. The Pack of 7 costs ₹1,799 and answers that question properly — a week per scent, in the actual room. It is the only purchase in this piece I would call an investment rather than a cost.

And I would leave the Vaayu alone. It is a machine I am proud of and it belongs in a villa with a connected double-height volume, not in a 3BHK with four doors. It cannot even run the Hotel Collection — it is waterless and takes neat oil — so choosing it means changing fragrance systems for a benefit your floor plan cannot collect. A portion of every order supports a girl's classroom through Nanhi Kali, whichever way you spend it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I scent my whole home for under ₹10,000?
Four Sukoons at ₹1,899 each is ₹7,596, and one 300ml bottle at ₹1,799 takes it to ₹9,395 — four separate rooms and well over a year of fragrance, with ₹605 left. Twelve 15ml scents arrive in the machine boxes. If you have five rooms genuinely in daily use, five Sukoons is ₹9,495.
Should I buy a Vaayu if my budget is ₹10,000?
No, on two counts. The Vaayu is ₹11,999, which is over the ceiling, and it is waterless — it runs neat oil and cannot take the water-based Hotel Collection at all. It is also rated in cubic metres of connected volume, which describes a villa atrium rather than a flat with closed bedroom doors. Five Sukoons at ₹9,495 reach five separate rooms; the Vaayu reaches one volume.
Is a fifth diffuser worth buying?
Only if somebody is in that room on an ordinary weekday. A fifth Sukoon is ₹1,899 once and about ₹36 a month forever, and the commonest place it ends up is a guest room used twice a year. Carry a Boond in for those weekends instead. Machines earn their keep by hours occupied, not by doors counted.
Is the Megh worth including in a ₹10,000 build?
In exactly one case: a single dry, heavily air-conditioned bedroom where you want up to 100 hours a fill and some humidity along with the scent. Then two Sukoons, a Megh and a 300ml is ₹9,096. Never buy it for coverage — at ₹3,499 it is rated to 215 sq ft, which is less than a ₹1,899 Sukoon's 270–320. For more area the answer is always another Sukoon.
Should every room run the same fragrance?
One fragrance, or two that share a material. Four machines with four different scents give you a house that argues with itself at every doorway, because adjacent rooms mix whenever a door is open. The approach that works is one idea at two volumes — something brighter in the public rooms, something quieter in the bedrooms. The Pack of 7 at ₹1,799 is the cheapest way to find out which is which before committing to a 300ml.
