Why an open plan is a volume problem rather than a strength problem
The single most useful thing I can tell an open-plan reader is that you are not under-scented, you are under-covered, and those two complaints have completely different solutions. Concentration in a space is what enters the air minus what leaves it, spread across however much air there is. A closed 120 sq ft bedroom has very little air and one door; it reaches a perceptible level quickly and holds it. Using Vaayu properly — and the readers who should not buy it
If you do buy it, three decisions make the difference between a machine that justifies ₹11,999 and one that sits on a schedule you never adjusted. Placement: freestanding is fine, wall mounting is tidier, and mounting into HVAC is what commercial installations do because it puts the mist into air that is already moving. Wherever it goes, aim for a point the space’s airflow passes through rather than a decorative corner — you are feeding a moving system, not decorating a table. Intensity: start lower than you think and raise it after a week, judging by what a visitor says rather than by what you can smell, because you will adapt to your own floor within minutes and they will not. Schedule: use the windows. Running 8h into your occupied evening is better than 24h at a lower intensity for most homes, and it stretches the 400ml tank towards the top of its 90+ day range.
One practical note on what goes in it. A cold-air nebuliser atomises neat oil through a fine nozzle, so it wants alcohol-free, water-free oils formulated for cold-air diffusion — the SOSA Hotel Collection among them. I am aware that a page recommending the most expensive thing I sell has to work harder to be believed, so here is the reasoning stripped of any commercial dressing. Every other city page in this series ends with me telling somebody to spend less — three reeds instead of six, a fan instead of a machine, ventilation before a purchase. Those recommendations are honest because the rooms in question are small and closed, and a small closed room reaches a perceptible concentration with very little help.
