Then: Morning Freshness ₹749 (the cheapest reed), Mountain Breeze ₹849 (for the impossible recipient), the Day & Night duo ₹1,498 (which removes even the scent decision by hedging), then the ₹664 two-pack and the ₹449 candles below the ₹749 reed floor.
The honest gap, first of two mentions: if the date is immovable, buy locally. No page here states a delivery timing, because none of it is verified. Use this ranking for the choice and make that choice wherever you buy.
The two worst last-minute gifts in our own range: a 300ml refill at ₹2,399, which is only useful to someone who already owns the bottle, and the ₹299 Hotel Collection 15ml, which is a refill for an ultrasonic machine and does nothing without hardware the recipient almost certainly does not own.
2. Morning Freshness 50ml, ₹749 — the same shape, at the cheapest reed price. Cold-pressed Malabar lemon, peppermint, eucalyptus, 9.0. It carries one small assumption in its favour rather than against it: citrus complements cooking, so it is the one I would send to a household that cooks a great deal, where a floral would argue with dinner.
3. Mountain Breeze 50ml, ₹849 — for the person everybody calls impossible. Himalayan pine, sage and Indian cedar at 9.4. The least sweet and least gendered thing in the range, which is exactly why it survives a shared room where two people disagree about fragrance.
4. Day & Night duo, ₹1,498 — the only thing here that removes the last decision. Two 50ml bottles, bright and soft, and the household keeps whichever it prefers. It is not a gift set and I will not call it one; there is no gift set, box or hamper at SOSA. What it is, for a buyer with no information, is a hedge you can buy.
5. Below ₹749 there is no reed, so buy a candle and buy it deliberately. The Smoked Oudh or Sandalwood at ₹449 is the strongest single object under the floor, a two-pack at ₹664 is the best-looking, and a single message-free jar at ₹379 is the honest minimum — though it does not clear the ₹499 free shipping threshold on its own, while a ₹749 reed does.

The shelf falls into three bands, and only one of them is safe blind
Rather than a long list, think of the range as three bands defined by what each item assumes. The first band assumes nothing beyond a room. The second assumes one specific fact about the recipient — a taste, a room size, a possession. The third assumes several, and every one of those is a fact you do not have. There is no quality difference between the bands; some of the finest things we make sit in the third one. The difference is entirely about what you can safely buy without checking.
Evening Calm₹799Evening Calm ₹799, Morning Freshness ₹749 and Mountain Breeze ₹849 in 50ml, plus the message-free candles — the ₹664 two-pack, the ₹449 singles and the ₹379 jars. All of these are addressed to a room rather than to a body. None of them requires a size, a diet, a possession or a taste you would have to have asked about. The 50ml suits anything up to about 150 square feet, which covers most bedrooms, bathrooms and home offices, and the six fibre reeds act as a volume dial afterwards — three for a bedside, all six for a living room — so the recipient tunes it rather than you guessing.
Garden Bloom₹799Garden Bloom ₹799 assumes they like florals, and anti-floral is a common and firmly held position, so it is a superb gift where you know and a coin-toss where you do not. Fresh Brew ₹849 at 9.5 is the deepest thing we make, a warm gourmand of Coorg coffee and Kerala vanilla — perfect for a coffee drinker you know well and the least safe blind buy in the range. A 130ml at ₹1,249–₹1,349 assumes a room over about 150 square feet. Wax melts at ₹474 assume a burner in the house. Car perfumes at ₹449–₹509 assume a car that gets used — and every SOSA spray is a car perfume, not a room spray. Attars at ₹379–₹399 and solid perfumes at ₹459–₹549 assume the largest thing of all: that you know how somebody wants to smell.
Refill 300ml₹2,399The 300ml refill at ₹2,399 is a genuinely good product and a poor gift, because it is only useful to somebody who already owns the bottle and the reeds — it is a top-up, not an object. And the ₹299 Hotel Collection 15ml is a refill for an ultrasonic machine, never a standalone gift: those scents are water-based and ultrasonic-only, they cannot go into a reed diffuser in either direction, and without a machine the bottle does nothing at all. A machine itself — the Boond at ₹899 or the Sukoon at ₹1,899 — is a fine gift for someone you know wants one, and a commitment for someone who does not, because it needs oil bought for it afterwards and a place to plug in.
Why the ranking inverts the usual one
On an ordinary buying guide the ₹2,399 refill and the ₹1,899 machine would sit near the top, because guides are usually ranked by price and price is a proxy for impressiveness. Under time pressure that proxy breaks completely. The refill is the most expensive way to give somebody nothing, if they do not own the bottle; the machine is a good object attached to an obligation. Meanwhile a ₹449 candle, which would be near the bottom of a conventional list, is close to ideal for this week: it is complete, it needs nothing, and it is built on a named material rather than a decorative one, which is what makes a modest object read as considered rather than cheap.
The same inversion explains why Evening Calm outranks scents I am personally prouder of. Fresh Brew is the most technically difficult thing in the range — real Coorg coffee that does not collapse into cake-shop sweetness is not easy — and it is the last thing I would hand to a stranger, because a gourmand is a strong opinion and half the houses in India did not ask for one. Under research scarcity, low polarisation beats high quality every time, not because quality stops mattering but because you cannot aim it.
One more inversion worth naming: the duo at ₹1,498 is more expensive than a single bottle and asks less of you, which is unusual. Two 50ml bottles, bright and soft, and the household keeps the one it prefers. If your difficulty is specifically that you cannot choose — not that you cannot spend — then the duo is the only item in the catalogue that buys the decision off you. It is worth saying again that it is two bottles sold together and not a boxed set. SOSA has no gift set, no gift box, no hamper, no gift card, no wrap, no note and no personalisation, and I would rather you knew that before you ordered than after.
The whole SOSA shelf, ranked by how few decisions it requires
The complete range, ordered by what each item assumes about the recipient rather than by what it costs. The last two rows are products we sell and I would not send blind, which is the point of including them.

Where a food gift beats every row of this table
There is a case this ranking cannot win and I would rather name it than let you discover it at the door. Where sweets are the expected form of the greeting, sweets are correct. A first visit to elders, a household where the box is opened and shared in the room, an occasion whose whole content is the eating together — in those, arriving with a bottle is a substitution nobody asked for, however carefully ranked the bottle is. Buy the mithai, buy it near you, and hand it over. Nothing on this shelf improves on a ritual that is doing its job.
The second case is the evening itself. A reed diffuser does nothing on the night it is given. It is put down on a console and it starts quietly; its entire argument is made three weeks later when the house still smells of something the household did not buy for itself. If your gift is meant to land in the room — opened, shared, lit — then a candle is the better shape, and at ₹449 or ₹664 it sits well inside this shelf anyway. At Diwali specifically I would still gently note that most homes already have more things to light than they need, and that is the strongest argument the bottle has.
The edit, in buying order — and the honest gap
Take the first row that fits your figure and stop reading. The last row is written for the reader this shelf cannot help, and it is the row I would most like people to act on.
| Buy | What it is | When it is the right answer | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Evening Calm 50ml ★ | Kashmir lavender, chamomile, soft musk — 8.9, the softest in the range | The default whenever you know little about the household | ₹799 |
| 2. Morning Freshness 50ml | Malabar lemon, peppermint, eucalyptus — the cheapest reed we make | A home that cooks a great deal, or a figure that must hold at ₹749 | ₹749 |
| 3. Mountain Breeze 50ml | Himalayan pine, sage, Indian cedar — 9.4, deepest woody | The impossible recipient, a study, or a shared room with mixed tastes | ₹849 |
| 4. Day & Night duo | Two 50ml bottles sold together; there is no gift set, box or hamper here | When the difficulty is choosing rather than spending — it hedges for you | ₹1,498 |
| 5. Jar candle two-pack | Two message-free 80g soy candles, roughly 30–36 hours together | The best-looking object below the ₹749 reed floor | ₹664 |
| 6. Smoked Oudh / Sandalwood | A single candle built on a named material rather than a decorative one | A ₹500 figure, or where the gift should be something to light | ₹449 |
| The honest gap: buy locally instead | If the gift has to be physically in someone’s hands on a particular day, buy it from a shop you can walk into. SOSA states no dispatch timing, cut-off or arrival window anywhere. And the ₹2,399 refill and the ₹299 Hotel Collection 15ml are not gifts at all — the first needs a bottle they already own, the second needs a machine | Whenever the date is immovable, and wherever sweets are the expected form of the greeting | — |
Versailles
Ranking our own shelf this way was uncomfortable to write, because it puts two products I am fond of at the bottom and a ₹449 candle above a ₹2,399 refill. But a refill given to somebody who does not own the bottle is not a modest gift, it is a confusing one, and the ₹299 Hotel Collection 15ml is worse still — it is a machine refill, water-based and ultrasonic-only, and without the machine it does nothing at all. I would rather say that on our own page than have somebody discover it on a Sunday.
What the ranking is really measuring is how much of the decision the object takes off you. Evening Calm takes almost all of it. The duo takes the last of it, at a price. Fresh Brew, which is the hardest thing in the range to make well, gives the decision straight back to you, and that is not a criticism of the scent — it is a description of what a gourmand is.
And the line that sits above every row of the table: if the gift has to be in someone’s hands on a particular day, buy it locally. We publish no delivery promise anywhere on this site and I am not going to write one into a shelf page. Everything we make is composed in Pune, and a part of every order funds a girl’s classroom through Nanhi Kali.
