Can I control it from my phone during the party?
You can, and the more useful advice is that you mostly should not. The Vaayu at Rs 11,999 runs on a Bluetooth app and timer, so adjusting it from your phone is genuinely easy, and the one adjustment worth making mid-evening is downward: if a guest mentions the fragrance, turn it down or off in that part of the house immediately. Everything else should be left alone. The temptation on Diwali night is to raise it, because you cannot smell anything and the house feels flat to you, but that impression is your own adaptation after a day of cooking rather than a fact about the room, and a warm crowded house is already carrying the scent further than the empty one you set the dial in. A raise made at eight is loud in one place, thin at the far end, and still loud at midnight for the last dozen people sitting down. Is a reed diffuser automatic in the same way as a machine?
