Which is more intense? Oud, by a distance. White tea is soft and easy to live with all day; oud is a statement scent, deep and long, better used sparingly.
Does SOSA's diffuser range have oud? Honestly, no - the water-based Hotel Collection has white tea but no oud diffuser scent. SOSA does offer oud as a ceramic candle and a wax melt.
White tea vs oud - the two profiles
These two scents represent opposite ideas of luxury. White tea says luxury is clean, quiet and effortless. Oud says luxury is deep, rich and unmistakable. Neither is wrong - they are simply different tastes. Here they are side by side, fairly, without talking oud down for being bold or white tea down for being soft.
| White tea | Oud | |
|---|---|---|
| Family | Fresh, clean, tea | Deep, resinous wood |
| Character | Light, clean, airy, subtly green, non-sweet | Deep, woody, resinous, smoky, intense |
| Intensity | Soft, easy all day | Powerful, statement, use sparingly |
| Mood | Fresh, aired, effortless | Rich, dramatic, enveloping |
| Gender read | Comfortably unisex | Often reads richer, more opulent |
White tea is the scent you can run all day without ever tiring of it - it is background luxury, clean and calm. Oud is the scent you bring out for effect - it fills a room with depth and drama and is best used in small measure and at the right moment. In an Indian home oud carries real gravitas; it is the scent of opulence and occasion. The two could hardly be more different, and which you prefer says a lot about how you like a room to feel.
One practical difference: white tea forgives a heavy hand, oud does not. A little too much white tea is still pleasant; a little too much oud can overwhelm a room quickly. Oud rewards restraint, which is part of why it feels so luxurious when it is done right.
Being honest about the diffuser range
Now the part I owe you plainly, because it decides what you can buy from us for each. In the water-based Hotel Collection - the fragrance built for SOSA ultrasonic diffusers - we cover the white tea side, but we do not make an oud diffuser scent. I would rather say that outright than imply a scent exists that does not.
So the practical guidance is clear. If you want a clean, fresh, effortless scent through your cool-mist diffuser, White Tea Serenity is exactly that. If you want the depth and drama of oud, the honest route with SOSA is the format that suits oud anyway: a SOSA oud ceramic candle for an evening glow, or an oud wax melt over a burner for flame-free warmth. Oud, being deep and resinous, actually reads beautifully from a candle or melt - so this is not a compromise, it is the right vehicle for the note.
Myth: "Every scent should be available as a diffuser fragrance." Some notes suit some formats better - and honesty matters more than a full grid. Our diffuser range is white tea and other hotel styles; oud lives in our candles and wax melts, which carry its depth well. Buy the right format.
For the diffuser, the rule holds: use only SOSA's water-based Hotel Collection fragrance, with filtered water, never hot - raw essential oils can clog the plate. The white-tea scents are my own interpretations of hotel styles, not the hotels' actual proprietary scents; SOSA is not affiliated with the hotels named.

Versailles
I trained as a perfumer at ISIPCA in Versailles, but half the questions we get are not about scent at all - they are about the machine. Indian rooms are bone-dry from AC and winter, and most gadget diffusers are too small, too loud, or quit by midnight. So we made three: Boond (300ml, desk), Sukoon (500ml, bedroom, with a remote and mood light) and Megh (6L, whole-room), each shipping with three of our fragrances.
They are cool-mist ultrasonic diffusers - an ultrasonic plate turns water into a fine, cool mist with no heating element, so there is no boiling water or burn risk, and each has an auto shut-off when the tank runs dry.
One thing I say on every listing and will say here: use only SOSA's water-based Hotel Collection fragrance. Raw essential oils, perfumes and carrier oils are thick or solvent-heavy and can clog the misting plate and damage the unit. A few drops of our water-based fragrance in the tank mists cleanly and scents the whole room.
