Every page in this family says the same thing about register: dry, cool, nothing that announces itself. The private consultation lounge is where I allow one exception, and it is a small one. The lounge may sit a shade warmer than the floor - a dry amber edge on the same cedar - because it is the only room in the building with a sofa in it, and fabric does half of that warming on its own.
Quick answers — read this first
What should a private appliance consultation lounge smell like? Like the floor outside it, a shade warmer. The lounge is the one room in an appliance showroom furnished softly - a sofa, a rug, perhaps a curtain - and fabric absorbs the bright top of a dry register and returns the woody base, so the same cedar-and-sage that reads cool and mineral on the steel-and-glass floor reads rounder and warmer in the lounge without anything being changed. If a warmer facet is wanted on top of that, it is a dry amber edge on the floor's cedar, still low, still the same family. Never a second scent, never anything sweet, powdery or edible.
Why is the lounge allowed a warmer register when nothing else is? Because it is the one room where warmth reads as a home rather than as a store. The main floor is hard-surfaced and lit for kitchens; anything warm there reads as a candle shop. A closed lounge with a sofa is a living room, and a living room in a well-kept house has a rounder air than its kitchen. The allowance is one facet, not one family: the lounge stays in cedar and dry woods with an amber edge, at a level a client on the sofa for an hour cannot name, and a client walking back onto the floor meets the same scent, cooler.
What is the honest way to do this? For a lounge that opens off a 1,500-3,000 sq ft floor running one SOSA Vaayu (Rs 11,999), nothing placed in the lounge at all - the trace through the door, rounded by the fabric, is the plan. For a lounge of its own in a small studio, one Mountain Breeze reed (Rs 849) with three reeds in on the console, never on the coffee table. If an amber facet is wanted in the machine's oil rather than from the fabric alone, that is a question for the scenting plan and is confirmed with SOSA. Fragrance here is an interiors decision like the lamp beside the sofa - SOSA makes no claim that it changes what a client decides or any business number.
The short answer
Short answer: like the floor, a shade warmer. The same cedar-and-dry-woods family with a dry amber edge, at a level a client on the sofa for an hour cannot name; the lounge's own fabric does most of the warming, and the floor's register walks back out of the door unchanged. One facet warmer, never a second scent, never anything sweet or edible.
The pick: for a lounge off a 1,500-3,000 sq ft floor, one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) on the floor side, held low and key-locked, with nothing placed in the lounge; for a lounge of its own, one Mountain Breeze reed (₹849) with three reeds in on the console. An amber facet in the machine oil is asked for in the plan and confirmed with SOSA.
Next step: send a plan with the lounge, its door, its furnishings and the floor's AC path marked, and say whether you want the fabric alone to do the warming or a dry amber facet on top - ask for a showroom scenting plan.
What should a private appliance consultation lounge smell like?
Like the floor outside it, one shade warmer, and of exactly the same thing. That sentence has three parts and each is a rule. Like the floor: the lounge is not a second scent. A client who has spent an hour on the sofa and walks back out to the display kitchens should meet the same register, cooler, and not notice a change; a different scent in the lounge reads as a different shop, and the one thing this family is trying to build is a single air across every room a designer or a homeowner walks through. One shade warmer: this is the exception, and it is allowed for a physical reason before it is allowed for a taste one. The main floor is steel, glass, stone and lacquer, which absorb nothing and return everything, so a dry register there reads cool, bright and slightly mineral. The lounge is the only room in the building with fabric in it - a sofa, a rug, a curtain, upholstered chairs - and fabric absorbs the bright top of a fragrance and returns the woody base. Put the floor's cedar-and-sage into a soft-furnished room and it reads rounder and warmer by itself, without anyone changing anything. So the first version of the warmer lounge is simply the floor's register, carried in through the door, rounded by the furniture. Of exactly the same thing: if the owner wants more warmth than the fabric gives, the allowance is a dry amber facet on the floor's cedar - amber as a dry, resinous edge, not as a sweet one - still in the woods family, still low. Not vanilla, not anything gourmand or powdery, not a heavy floral, and because the lounge is inside a kitchen-appliance showroom with a hob and a coffee counter somewhere on the floor, nothing edible. Then the level, which does not relax because the register has: a client on the sofa for an hour must not be able to name the air, and a lounge is a closed room, so it over-scents from any source inside it faster than the floor does. That gives two honest deliveries. For a lounge that opens off a connected floor of roughly 1,500-3,000 sq ft, one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 on the floor side of the door, held at the low end of its adjustable intensity and key-locked, and nothing placed in the lounge: the trace through the door, rounded by the fabric, is the plan. If a dry amber facet is wanted in the machine's oil, that is asked for in the scenting plan and confirmed with SOSA; the four 100ml bottles in the box are the supply, and refill availability is confirmed with SOSA too. For a lounge of its own in a small studio, one Mountain Breeze reed at ₹849 with three reeds in on the console or a shelf, never on the coffee table where the quotation is - cedar, sage and pine, which in a soft room already reads warmer than it does at a reception desk. On a white, minimal centre whose floor runs Morning Freshness, the lounge stays in lemon-and-mint and takes its warmth from the fabric alone; a lemon floor with an amber lounge is two scents, and the rule against two scents outranks the allowance for warmth. Past about 3,000 sq ft of one connected floor, one Angaan at ₹25,999 on the plant and the same trace-through-the-door for the lounge. Any live kitchen or coffee counter on the floor stays unscented while it runs, machine off on the timer, extraction clearing. The pages either side take the same room from other angles: luxury-home clients is the visitor most likely to sit in this lounge and the one who already lives with fragrance, whether the architect zone should smell different is the rule against a second scent stated on its own, and the written standard for designers has the lounge allowance as one line with a limit on it. And the caveat every page carries: fragrance is an interiors decision, like the lamp beside the sofa. SOSA makes no claim that it changes what a client decides, footfall, dwell time or sales, and no claim about what it does to any appliance or finish. Ask for a showroom scenting plan and say whether the fabric alone is warm enough.
Like the floor, a shade warmer: the same cedar-and-dry-woods family with a dry amber edge, rounded by the lounge's own sofa and rug, at a level un-nameable after an hour. A trace through the door from the floor's Vaayu (Rs 11,999), nothing inside; or a Mountain Breeze reed (Rs 849) at three reeds on the console for a lounge of its own. Never a second scent.
For a lounge off a connected floor of roughly 1,500-3,000 sq ft, one SOSA Vaayu - waterless, adjustable intensity, key-lock - at ₹11,999 on the floor side of the door, and nothing inside the lounge. The fabric does the warming.
Two honest answers, decided by whether the lounge opens off a machine-scented floor or stands on its own in a small studio. The images link to the product pages so every figure can be checked.
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³ - about 2,000-3,000 sq ft - on one unit, Rs 11,999. Placed on the floor side of the lounge door, at the low end of its adjustable intensity and key-locked, so the lounge carries a trace through the door and nothing of its own. If a dry amber facet is wanted in the oil, it is asked for in the plan and confirmed with SOSA. 1h/4h/8h/24h timer; under 38dB; wall or HVAC mount; no water, no residue on the floor's steel and glass.
Himalayan pine, sage and Indian cedar - the driest register SOSA makes on a hard floor, and one that reads rounder and warmer the moment it is in a room with a sofa. Three of the six reeds in, on the console or a shelf, never on the coffee table; flip weekly. 50ml Rs 849 lasts 6-8 weeks; 130ml Rs 1,349 lasts 14-18 weeks. Reaches one seating zone, which is what a lounge is.
1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft) on one unit, Rs 11,999. Adjustable intensity and key-lock so the low setting that leaves the lounge faint stays set; wall or HVAC mount so the source sits on the floor side of the lounge door; 400ml tank, 90+ days a fill; Bluetooth app and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers; under 38dB. Waterless, so it adds no moisture and leaves no residue. CE, RoHS, SGS certified. Made in India.
The lounge gets an allowance the rest of the building does not, and the allowance has limits. These are the five reasons it exists and the five places it stops.
1
The fabric
A sofa, a rug and a curtain warm a dry register without changing it
Hard surfaces return a fragrance whole; soft ones edit it. Upholstery, rugs and curtains absorb the volatile, bright top of a scent first - the pine and the sage in Mountain Breeze, the lemon and mint in Morning Freshness - and return the heavier woody base slowly over the hours. So the same register carried into a soft-furnished lounge reads rounder, warmer and slower than it does over a run of steel and glass, and nobody has changed the product. This is the first and best version of the warmer lounge: do nothing, and let the furniture do it. It is also why the level does not relax. The fabric holds the base for hours, so a lounge scented at the floor's setting from a source inside it becomes a presence by the second appointment of the day. A trace through the door is enough.
Test: carry a sample of the floor's register into the lounge, close the door for an hour, and smell the room. That is the warmer facet, free.
2
The facet
A dry amber edge on the floor's cedar - one facet, never a second family
When the fabric's warming is not enough for the owner, the allowance is a dry amber facet on the family's cedar: amber as a resinous, dry edge that sits under the woods, not the sweet, vanillic amber of a candle shop. It stays inside the family - cedar, dry woods, a little resin - so that a client walking from the lounge back onto the floor meets the same scent with the edge taken off, and not a different one. The things that would make it a second family are ruled out by name: vanilla, tonka, anything gourmand, powdery musks, heavy florals, and anything edible at all in a building with a hob and a coffee counter. In the SOSA range that facet is a question for the scenting plan and for the machine's oil, which this cluster does not name; ask and it is confirmed with SOSA. A lounge on a white, lemon-and-mint floor does not take the facet at all - a citrus floor with an amber lounge is two scents. The dark, ultra-modern display explains why warmth on the main floor is a mistake; this card is the one room where a shade of it is not.
Rule: warmer by one facet of the same family. If a client could say the lounge smells different from the floor, it is a second scent, and it goes.
Mountain Breeze - cedar, sage and pine. On the floor it reads cool; on a sofa it reads like a living room.
A closed room over-scents from inside - the source stays on the floor
A lounge is a closed room of one to four hundred square feet with people sitting still in it for an hour, and the same rule that governs the presentation room governs it: no source inside if the floor already has a machine. The Vaayu sits on the floor side of the lounge door, held low and locked, and the trace that comes in when the door opens, held and rounded by the fabric, is the whole plan. A lounge with its own AC return will pull that trace out between appointments, which is correct and is what keeps the second client of the day from walking into the first client's hour. For a lounge of its own in a small studio with no machine on the floor, the source is a reed with three reeds in on the console at the end of the room away from the sofa, never on the coffee table where the quotation and the samples are. Architect presentations is the same door rule for the room with drawings on the table.
Rule: if the floor has a machine, the lounge has nothing. If the lounge has a reed, the floor's machine is placed so the lounge is faint.
4
The visitor
The client who sits here already lives with fragrance - restraint reads as expensive
The private lounge is where the highest-value client sits: the homeowner specifying a whole house, the designer bringing them. These clients have scented homes already, and often a perfume on. A lounge that smells of a product competes with both and loses, and it reads as trying. A lounge that smells faintly of a well-kept living room - cedar, dry woods, a resinous edge, held so low it could be the joinery - reads as expensive precisely because it is not trying. The warmer facet is in service of that reading, not of being noticed: if the client on the sofa can name it after an hour, the allowance has been overspent. Luxury-home clients takes this visitor as its whole subject; here it is the reason the level does not rise when the register warms.
Rule: the lounge's warmth is for a client who will not notice it. If they do, take it down.
5
The floor outside
The lounge's exception never leaks - the floor stays cool, dry and un-nameable
The allowance is for the lounge, and it ends at the door. The main floor stays where the rest of this family puts it: cool, dry, mineral, a step below furniture retail because steel and glass return everything, set for the longest visitor and locked. If the warmer facet is carried in the floor's machine oil rather than made by the lounge's fabric, it must be light enough that the floor still reads dry - which is the reason to try the fabric alone first and add a facet only if the plan says the floor can carry it. And the demonstration rule holds as it does everywhere: while a hob is lit or a coffee is pulled, the machine is off on the timer, extraction runs, and fragrance of any warmth returns only when the room smells of nothing. What a premium appliance showroom should smell like is the floor the lounge is an exception to.
The Vaayu holds the floor's setting under a key-lock and sits on the floor side of the lounge door, so the exception stays in the lounge.
A private consultation lounge may smell one shade warmer than the floor, of exactly the same thing, at a level no one on the sofa could name - and the sofa does most of the warming.
Same family. One facet warmer. Fabric first, amber edge second, never a second scent. A trace through the door, or three reeds on the console.
One register, two rooms, one machine on the floor side: SOSA Vaayu, ₹11,999, waterless, adjustable intensity and key-lock, placed so the lounge gets a trace through the door.
Floor, door, sofa: how one register reads in two rooms
Here is one register followed from the machine on the floor to the sofa in the lounge, with what it reads as at each point. Nothing changes but the surfaces.
The SOSA plan
One register, from the floor to the lounge sofa
The point
What the same scent reads as, and why
The floor, at the machine's wall
Cool, dry, faintly mineral - steel and glass return the whole register. One Vaayu from about 1,500 sq ft, low and locked. View →
The display kitchens and corridors
A trace of the same, carried by the AC. Timber fronts absorb a little; stone and lacquer nothing. Still cool.
The lounge door, opening and closing
The trace enters with each opening and is held by the room. The lounge's own return pulls it out between appointments, which is correct.
The sofa, an hour into an appointment
Rounder and warmer - the fabric has taken the bright top and returned the cedar base. For a lounge of its own, this is three reeds of Mountain Breeze on the console. View →
The same lounge in a white, lemon-and-mint centre
Softer but still citrus - the lounge stays in the floor's family and takes no amber facet. Morning Freshness throughout. View →
A lounge on a floor past ~3,000 sq ft
The same trace through the door from one Angaan on the plant. Never a source inside. View →
One shade warmer, same family, still un-nameable after an hour
SOSA Vaayu ₹11,999 on the floor side of the lounge door; Mountain Breeze ₹849 at three reeds for a lounge of its own. Send a plan with the lounge and its furnishings marked and say how warm you want it.
The lounge is allowed to be warmer than the floor by one facet, and the sofa provides most of it. If a client can tell the lounge smells different, you have bought a second scent, not a warmer one.

The two honest deliveries for a lounge
A trace through the door from the floor's machine, or three reeds on the console
The SOSA specification for a private consultation lounge
One register, the same as the floor, reaching the lounge as a trace or as three reeds - and one facet's worth of warmth allowed on top. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The SOSA consultation-lounge specification
One shade warmer than the floor, of exactly the same thing - a trace through the door, or three reeds
A lounge off a 1,500-3,000 sq ft floor - the machine on the floor side, nothing inside
Waterless, 1000m³, adjustable intensity held low, key-lock, wall or HVAC mount on the floor side of the lounge door; a dry amber facet in the oil is asked for in the plan and confirmed with SOSA
The lounge allowance is one facet of the floor's family, never a second scent, and it ends at the lounge door; the floor stays cool and dry. The four 100ml bottles in the Vaayu box are the supply; confirm refill availability, and any request for a warmer facet in the oil, with SOSA. Fragrance in a consultation lounge is an interiors decision like the lamp beside the sofa, with no claim about what a client decides, footfall, dwell time or sales, and no claim about what it does to any appliance or finish. It works alongside ventilation, cleaning and extraction, never instead of them. Any live kitchen or coffee counter on the floor stays unscented while it runs.Ask for a showroom scenting plan and say how warm you want the lounge.

A note from Sonal
I am strict about warmth in this vertical, and the private lounge is where I let one degree of it in. Not because the room deserves a treat but because of what is in it: a sofa, a rug, sometimes a curtain, and those are the only soft surfaces in a building otherwise made of steel and glass. Fabric edits a fragrance - it takes the bright top and gives back the woody base, slowly - so the floor's cedar walks into that room and comes out rounder without anyone touching anything. That is the warmer lounge. If you want one facet more, a dry amber edge on the same cedar is the most I will allow, and it has to still be the floor's scent when the client walks back out.
The delivery is the same as every closed room in this family. If the floor runs a Vaayu, it sits on the floor side of the lounge door, low and locked, and the lounge gets nothing of its own - a trace through the door, held by the sofa. If the lounge stands on its own in a small studio, three reeds of Mountain Breeze on the console, never on the coffee table. A white centre that runs lemon-and-mint keeps lemon-and-mint in the lounge and takes its warmth from the fabric alone; a citrus floor with an amber lounge is two shops.
And the level does not relax because the register has. The client on that sofa has a scented home and often a perfume on, and what reads as expensive to them is a room that is not trying. If they can name the air after an hour, the allowance has been overspent. The line I put on every page holds here too: SOSA makes no claim that fragrance changes what a client decides, footfall, dwell time or sales, and no claim about what it does to anything on display. It is an interiors decision, like the lamp beside the sofa. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
Why is a private consultation lounge allowed a warmer fragrance when the main appliance floor is not?
Because it is the one room with fabric in it. The main floor is steel, glass, stone and lacquer, which return a fragrance whole, so anything warm there reads as a candle shop. A lounge has a sofa, a rug and often a curtain, and soft surfaces absorb the bright top of a dry register and return the woody base, so the floor's cedar reads rounder and warmer in the lounge by itself. The allowance is one facet on the same family, at the same low level - never a second scent.
What does a dry amber facet mean, and what is ruled out?
Amber as a dry, resinous edge sitting under the floor's cedar and dry woods - not the sweet, vanillic amber of a candle. It stays inside the woods family so a client walking from the lounge back onto the floor meets the same scent with the edge taken off. Ruled out by name: vanilla, tonka, anything gourmand, powdery musks, heavy florals, and anything edible at all in a building with a hob and a coffee counter. Whether the facet is carried in the machine oil is asked for in the scenting plan and confirmed with SOSA.
Can the lounge in a white, lemon-and-mint showroom take an amber facet?
No. A citrus floor with an amber lounge is two scents, and the rule against two scents outranks the allowance for warmth. A lounge in a white, minimal centre whose floor runs Morning Freshness stays in lemon-and-mint and takes its warmth from the fabric alone, which still rounds it noticeably. The amber facet is only for a lounge on a cedar-and-dry-woods floor, where it is a shade of the same thing rather than a change of family.
Should a scent machine be placed inside a private consultation lounge?
Not if the floor already has one. A lounge is a closed room of one to four hundred square feet with people sitting still for an hour, and any source inside becomes a presence within minutes; fabric then holds it for hours. The SOSA Vaayu sits on the floor side of the lounge door, held low and key-locked, and the trace that enters when the door opens is the plan. For a lounge of its own in a small studio with no floor machine, one Mountain Breeze reed with three reeds in on the console, never on the coffee table.
Does a warmer fragrance in the consultation lounge change what a client decides?
SOSA makes no such claim, and would be wary of any supplier who did. Fragrance in a lounge is an interiors decision, like the lamp beside the sofa. It does not change what a client decides, footfall, dwell time or sales in any way SOSA will assert, and SOSA makes no claim about what it does to any appliance or finish. The warmer facet exists because a living room in a well-kept house has a rounder air than its kitchen, and for no other reason.
On the floor side of the lounge door, low and locked - the sofa does the rest: SOSA Vaayu, ₹11,999, waterless, for a floor with a private consultation lounge off it.
