What you get: a partly scented living/dining and three unscented bedrooms.

2. The three bedrooms get nothing at all. A shut door is a wall. Light passes under it, sound passes through it, cooking heat finds its way round it. Scented mist does not, in any quantity you would notice — so from ten minutes after bedtime you have three unrelated environments.
3. It is not a failure of the machine. A 500ml unit at 30–50 ml/h is doing exactly what it was built to do, and in a 140–180 sq ft master bedroom it is more machine than the room needs. The problem is that a 3BHK has four such rooms and you have bought one.
4. Turning it to high makes one room heavier, not four rooms scented. High output also drops runtime on a 500ml tank from 16–18 hours to 9–12, so you refill more often to achieve a result you like less.

What one Sukoon actually covers
It is worth separating two questions people run together: whether the machine is strong enough, and whether it is in the right place. In a 2BHK the first answer was a comfortable yes and only the second one failed. In a 3BHK both answers move — the bedrooms are still easy work for a 500ml unit, but the room the machine almost always stands in has grown past what one unit is rated for. The arithmetic below is the whole of it, and none of it is a criticism of the unit.

Rather than assert that one machine is insufficient, here is what it actually produces in each part of a 3BHK when it sits — as it almost always does — on a console in the living/dining. Read the last column as the honest verdict rather than a sales line.

What to do if one machine is genuinely the budget
I want to be useful rather than merely correct, because plenty of people arrive here with ₹2,000 rather than ₹5,697 and the honest answer is not simply to wait. If one machine is what this month allows, put it in the living/dining. That is the room the front door opens into, the room every guest meets, the room with the most waking hours in it, and — since it is the largest volume — the one that most rewards a machine at 90–120cm on a console rather than on the floor by a socket. Set it roughly central to the space rather than against an end wall and find the line the air already takes, front door to balcony or the loop the air conditioner makes on its way back. That is free, and in a 350–400 sq ft living-dining it is the difference between a scented room and a scented corner.
Then give the bedrooms something that is not a machine. A reed diffuser is from ₹749, the 130ml bottle is ₹1,299 and the duo set is ₹1,598 — so one Sukoon plus a duo set is ₹3,497 for four rooms given something, against ₹3,798 for two rooms done properly and two left empty. Reeds have three limitations and in a bedroom every one of them works in your favour: they scent a corner rather than a room, so they never overwhelm a 100–140 sq ft space; they cannot be timed, which matters not at all in a room nobody is scheduling; and they need no socket, which matters in bedrooms where the sockets are behind the bed. A scented candle from ₹379 covers the evening a guest actually arrives, and gives you light as well as fragrance.
What I would avoid is the two habits that this budget tempts people into. The first is carrying the machine between rooms — it survives about a fortnight of enthusiasm, becomes conditional in the third week, and by the second month the unit lives permanently wherever it was last put down, which is where it would have lived anyway. A 500ml tank is heavy full and needs emptying before it travels, so the routine asks you to be a slightly better person every evening. The second is buying more fragrance instead of the second machine. Bottles are the cheap and delightful part of this range, but five bottles give one room five moods and give three bedrooms nothing whatever. In a partitioned flat the next machine always beats the next bottle, and the second Sukoon at ₹1,899 arrives with three more 15ml Hotel Collection scents anyway, so you get both.

I answer this question several times a week and I have stopped softening it. In a studio I tell people to buy one machine and put the rest into bottles. In a 1BHK the second machine is the honest answer. In a 2BHK, one machine is a partial setup. In a 3BHK, one machine is a gesture — and I would rather say that plainly than let somebody discover it at eleven at night on the far side of a corridor.
What I always add, because it matters more than the correction, is that the single machine is not wasted. It is the first of three, it belongs in the living/dining, and it stays there when the others arrive. Nothing you buy first becomes redundant in this range — the fragrances move between tanks, the price of the next machine does not change, and a 300ml refill bought today will still be serving three tanks next year. So buy one if one is what this month allows, put reeds in two bedrooms for ₹1,598, and add machines as the months permit. Just do not tell yourself it covers the flat, because a home this size will not let you believe that for long.
