No, one machine is not enough at 5,000 sq ft - and the answer to that is a change of category rather than a second trolley of the same machine

This is the post where the ladder stops being a ladder. Every rung below it answers the question with a machine; from here the question changes into something a machine on a shelf cannot answer at all, and pretending otherwise is how a large showroom ends up with four diffusers and an uneven room.
Quick answers — read this first
Is one scent machine enough for a 5,000 sq ft kitchen showroom? Honestly, no. 5,000 sq ft at a ten-foot ceiling is about 1,415 cubic metres of air, and a SOSA Vaayu is rated to 1000m³. That is not a borderline case you can settle by turning something up. The honest answers are one Vaayu per genuinely separate volume, or one SOSA Aangan at ₹25,999 specified into the building's air handling.
So should I just buy three or four Vaayus? Only if you have three or four genuinely separate volumes of air, which almost no 5,000 sq ft showroom does. Machines in the same connected space overlap rather than add, so three units on one open floor give you three gradients and two handovers rather than 3000m³ of coverage - plus three dials that drift, three tanks and three switches to remember on demonstration days. And the money says the same thing: three Vaayus is ₹35,997 against an Aangan at ₹25,999.
What does the Aangan actually do differently? It stops being a machine in a room and becomes a fitting in a system. It is an HVAC nebuliser rated to roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, specified into the supply side of the building's air handling, so the distribution is done by air the building is already moving rather than by a unit pushing across a display floor. That is why it suits one large or tall volume. Installation and HVAC specification support are not published, so confirm the scope with SOSA, and ductwork and filtration are your engineer's call.
The short answer
Short answer: no. A 5,000 sq ft showroom holds roughly 1,415 cubic metres of air at a ten-foot ceiling and one Vaayu is rated to 1000m³, so this is past a single machine. The honest answers are one Vaayu per genuinely separate volume, at ₹23,998 for two, or one SOSA Aangan at ₹25,999 specified into the building's air handling - and three Vaayus at ₹35,997 would cost more and read worse.
The pick: one SOSA Aangan (₹25,999) specified into the supply side of the air handling where the centre is one large or double-height volume, or one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) in each genuinely separate volume where the building is divided by real boundaries.
Next step: send the floor plan with ceiling heights, every door that closes, and whether the building runs on central air handling or split units, and we will tell you which of the two specifications your building can actually support - Ask for a retail scenting plan.
Below this line you buy a machine for a room. At and above it you specify a system into a building, and the limiting factor stops being what a unit can cover and becomes how the building moves its air.
The building-scale machine - tap for the specification
Is one scent machine genuinely enough for a 5,000 sq ft kitchen showroom?
No, and I would rather say that plainly than sell you a machine that will disappoint you. The arithmetic is not close. Five thousand square feet is about 465 square metres, and at a standard ten-foot ceiling that is roughly 1,415 cubic metres of air. A SOSA Vaayu is rated to 1000m³. If the centre is double height, which in this category it very often is, the same floor holds about 2,830 cubic metres - which is the air of a 10,000 sq ft single-storey building, and worth pausing on, because it means your square footage has been telling you something wrong all along. So one Vaayu is out. What replaces it is not more Vaayus by default. A second machine belongs to a second volume of air, never to a second corner of the same floor, so extra units only help if your building genuinely divides: an upper floor, a wing behind doors that close, a consultation suite on its own air-conditioning circuit. If it does, one machine per volume is a proper specification and two comes to ₹23,998. If it does not - if 5,000 sq ft is one open display hall, which is how most experience centres of this size are built - then adding units makes the room less even rather than more, because sources in a shared volume overlap instead of adding, and every handover between them is a change a customer walks through. The honest alternative at that point is a change of category rather than a change of quantity: one SOSA Aangan at ₹25,999, an HVAC nebuliser rated to roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft and specified into the supply side of your air handling, so distribution becomes the building's job. Look at the money honestly while you decide: two Vaayus is ₹23,998, an Aangan is ₹25,999, and three Vaayus is ₹35,997 - more than the Aangan, for a result with two seams in it. Which means the decision is made on how your building moves air, not on price. Two limits I will not blur. Installation and HVAC specification support are not published, so confirm the scope with SOSA before you plan around it, and ductwork, filtration and where a nebuliser may be introduced are your air-conditioning engineer's call rather than a fragrance supplier's. Standing conditions still apply at every size: if the centre smells of laminate, adhesive or new joinery, buy nothing yet, because fragrance is never used to mask another smell and is never a substitute for ventilation, extraction or cleaning. Demo kitchens stay unscented. Register dry, material-led, nothing edible, at the lowest level your designers still notice at the end of a working day. And plainly: no one can promise that ambient scent moves footfall, enquiries or order value, and a supplier quoting you a figure is not measuring, they are selling.Ask for a retail scenting plan and send the plan.
No. 5,000 sq ft is about 1,415m³ against a Vaayu rated to 1000m³. Either one Vaayu per genuinely separate volume at ₹23,998, or one Aangan at ₹25,999 into the air handling. Three Vaayus at ₹35,997 cost more and work worse.
Past a single Vaayu the machine is one SOSA Aangan - an HVAC nebuliser rated to roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, specified into the supply side so the building distributes it. ₹25,999. Where the building genuinely divides, one Vaayu per volume at ₹11,999 each is the alternative, and installation scope is not published.
Two specifications are honest at 5,000 sq ft and they suit different buildings rather than different budgets. The images link to the product pages so you can read both properly before anyone quotes you.
HVAC nebuliser rated to roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, specified into the building's air handling rather than placed in a room, so distribution is done by air the building already moves. ₹25,999. Installation and HVAC specification support are not published, and ductwork and filtration are your engineer's decision.
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, with a 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill, app timers, adjustable intensity, key-lock and under 38dB. One per separate volume - an upper floor, a wing behind doors, a consultation suite on its own AC circuit. Two comes to ₹23,998.
HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to approximately 8,000-10,000 sq ft, specified into the supply side of a building's air handling so that distribution follows the conditioned air rather than being pushed across a display floor. ₹25,999. Made in India. Installation and HVAC specification support are not published and should be confirmed with SOSA, and ductwork, filtration and the introduction point remain your air-conditioning engineer's call.
Three reasons, and the third is the one that changes how you shop rather than what you buy.
1
Check whether the building actually divides
Extra machines only help where extra volumes exist
Walk the centre from the entrance to the furthest point a customer reaches and count only boundaries that stop air: a wall to the ceiling, a door that closes, a change of air-conditioning zone. Display zones, aisles, feature walls and merchandising areas are not boundaries. Most 5,000 sq ft experience centres come back with one volume, sometimes two if there is an upper floor or a closed consultation suite. The count of volumes, not the square footage, decides whether a second machine is a specification or a duplication. Two volumes means two Vaayus at ₹23,998, each set separately for the seat that matters in that volume, and both key-locked.
Tip: A partition that stops short of the ceiling is not a boundary. Air goes over it.
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
Three Vaayus cost ₹35,997 and still leave two handovers
It is worth putting the numbers side by side, because the intuitive answer and the correct one diverge here. Two Vaayus is ₹23,998. One Aangan is ₹25,999. Three Vaayus is ₹35,997, which is nearly ten thousand rupees more than the Aangan and buys you a floor with two handovers in it, three dials that can drift, three tanks and three machines to switch off before a cooking demonstration. Sources in a shared volume overlap rather than add, so the third machine is not buying a third of the coverage - it is buying a second seam. If the honest answer needs more than two units in one building, the category has changed.
Tip: Count machines you would have to switch off on a demo day. It is a good proxy for complexity.
One Aangan ₹25,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
At this size the decision is a services question, not a product one
The Aangan is only available to you if the building can take it, so the first question is whether the centre runs on central air handling rather than a set of split units. If it does, the supply side already carries conditioned air everywhere a customer goes and the fragrance can travel with it. From there the specification passes out of my hands: ductwork, filtration and where a nebuliser may be introduced are your air-conditioning engineer's decisions, and I would be wary of any supplier who tells you otherwise. Installation and HVAC specification support are not published either, so confirm exactly what SOSA can and cannot do before you build a plan around it.
One Aangan ₹25,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
Five thousand square feet is the rung where the ladder changes shape. Below it you are choosing a machine for a room and the limit is what the machine can cover; at and above it you are specifying a system into a building, and the limit is how the building moves its air.
Which is why the useful next call at this size is to your air-conditioning engineer rather than to a fragrance supplier.
One large or tall volume: SOSA Aangan at ₹25,999, specified into the supply side of the air handling. Installation scope is not published - confirm it with SOSA.
Work down this in order. The first three lines decide which specification you are, and the last three apply whichever one you land on.
The SOSA plan
A 5,000 sq ft kitchen showroom, past a single machine
The step
What to do
Measure the volume
About 1,415m³ at a ten-foot ceiling, about 2,830m³ if the shell is double height - which is the air of a 10,000 sq ft single-storey building.
Count the volumes of air
Only walls to the ceiling, doors that close and separate AC zones count. Most centres this size come back with one, occasionally two.
Ask how the building is conditioned
Central air handling makes the Aangan available. Split units usually mean the answer is one Vaayu per genuinely separate volume instead.
One large or tall volume
One Aangan at ₹25,999 into the supply side. Installation support is not published, and ductwork and filtration are your engineer's call.
A divided building
One Vaayu per volume - ₹23,998 for two. Never two machines in one open volume, where they overlap and hand over in the middle.
Whichever you choose
Demo kitchens stay unscented and everything comes off during a demonstration. Level judged from the consultation seat at minute ninety, then key-locked.
When somebody tells me one machine is not covering their showroom, the wrong answer is buy another one. Past a certain size that is like adding a second kettle because the house is cold.

What changes when the category changes
The distribution stops being the machine's problem
Two specifications are honest at 5,000 sq ft, and which one is available to you depends on how the building is conditioned rather than on what you would like to spend. Cold-air refill oil is not currently sold separately, so the 400ml a Vaayu ships with runs 90+ days a fill and continuity of supply must be confirmed with SOSA before any multi-machine plan. Installation support, warranty and bulk terms are not published either. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The SOSA kitchen-showroom specification
5,000 sq ft: two specifications, chosen by the building
Count volumes of air before you count machines, and treat anything beyond two units in one building as a signal that the category has changed rather than the quantity. Ambient scent here is a presentation decision like lighting or display styling; it is never used to mask another smell - not laminate, not adhesive, not cooking - and it is never a substitute for ventilation, extraction or cleaning. Installation and HVAC specification support are not published and should be confirmed with SOSA, and ductwork, filtration and the introduction point remain your engineer's call. Ask for a retail scenting plan before you spend anything.

A note from Sonal
For about four thousand square feet of this cluster I have been talking people down. This is the post where I stop, because at five thousand the honest answer genuinely is that one machine will not do it, and pretending otherwise would be the same dishonesty in the other direction. Fourteen hundred cubic metres against a machine rated for a thousand is not a setting problem. It is a category problem.
What I want to protect you from is the reflex that follows. Somebody discovers one is not enough and immediately prices four, and four diffusers on one open display hall is a worse room than one, not a better one - three handovers, four dials, four tanks, four things to switch off on a demonstration day, and about ten thousand rupees more than the machine that would have done it properly. The moment the honest answer needs more than two units in a single building, the question has stopped being which machine and started being how your air handling works. That is a conversation with your services engineer, and I would rather hand it to them than pretend it is mine.
So: one Aangan at ₹25,999 where the building is one large or tall volume with central air handling, or one Vaayu at ₹11,999 in each genuinely separate volume, so ₹23,998 for two. Installation scope is not published, so confirm it with us first, and the ductwork belongs to your engineer. Dry register, nothing edible - our own Fresh Brew at ₹849 is coffee and vanilla and stays out of a kitchen centre. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
Is one scent machine enough for a 5,000 sq ft kitchen showroom?
No. Five thousand square feet at a ten-foot ceiling holds about 1,415 cubic metres of air, and one SOSA Vaayu is rated to 1000 cubic metres. If the shell is double height it holds roughly 2,830, which is the air of a 10,000 sq ft single-storey building. The honest answers are one Vaayu per genuinely separate volume, or one SOSA Aangan at Rs 25,999 specified into the building's air handling.
Should I buy three or four Vaayus instead?
Only if you genuinely have three or four separate volumes of air, which almost no showroom this size does. Machines in one connected space overlap rather than add, so extra units create handovers a customer walks through rather than extra coverage. Three Vaayus also comes to Rs 35,997, which is more than an Aangan at Rs 25,999, alongside three dials that can drift and three machines to switch off before a cooking demonstration.
What does the Aangan do that a Vaayu does not?
It is an HVAC nebuliser rated to roughly 8,000 to 10,000 sq ft and specified into the supply side of a building's air handling, so distribution is carried out by air the building is already moving rather than by a unit pushing across a display floor. That suits one large or double-height volume. Installation and HVAC specification support are not published, so confirm the scope with SOSA, and ductwork and filtration are your engineer's call.
Two Vaayus or one Aangan for 5,000 sq ft?
The building decides, not the price, because they are only about Rs 2,000 apart at Rs 23,998 against Rs 25,999. Two genuinely separate volumes of air, each with its own boundary and ideally its own air-conditioning circuit, argue for two Vaayus. One open display hall, or a double-height shell, served by central air handling argues for the Aangan. If the building is open plan and on split units, say so when you ask and we will tell you honestly.
Will a bigger scenting system improve business at this size?
No one can promise that and I will not. SOSA has run no research that would support a figure, and there is no honest way to separate ambient scent from the twenty other things a customer experiences across a ninety-minute visit. A supplier who quotes you a number for footfall, enquiries or order value is not measuring anything, they are selling. What a correctly specified system buys you is an even, quiet room, which you can judge for yourself.
The arithmetic that settles it: Three Vaayus is ₹35,997 against an Aangan at ₹25,999 - more money for a floor with two handovers in it.

Facts verified 5 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with adjustable intensity, a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days a fill depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, operation under 38dB at 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification, which are electrical and compliance marks and not medical approvals. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment. The SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) is an ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering roughly 270-320 sq ft and is supplied with three 15ml fragrances; the water-based Hotel Collection (₹299 / ₹999 / ₹1,799) is an ultrasonic fragrance and is not a refill for a waterless cold-air machine. SOSA reed diffusers are alcohol-free and phthalate-free, with 50ml lasting about 6-8 weeks and 130ml about 14-18 weeks. Cold-air refill oil for the Vaayu is not currently sold separately - the machine ships with 400ml included and further refills should be confirmed with SOSA. Warranty, annual maintenance, installation and bulk terms are not published and should be confirmed before ordering. Ambient scent is an interior and hospitality decision: it makes no clinical, therapeutic or wellbeing claim, it works alongside proper ventilation, cleaning and infection control and is never a substitute for any of them, it is never used to mask another smell, and no claim is made that fragrance influences a patient's decision or any commercial outcome. Clinical areas including procedure, post-procedure and photography rooms are left unscented, and the treating clinician's judgement overrides any scenting plan in their own room. The hotel-inspired scents are SOSA's own original interpretations; SOSA is an independent brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel named for reference. Coverage, fragrance usage and running cost depend on the space, settings and hours of use, and are confirmed on a consultation.
