Put the two machines side by side and the decision looks like a budget question: ₹899 against ₹1,899, and who wants to spend twice as much on a diffuser. That framing is what makes people buy wrong. The Sukoon arrives with three 15ml fragrances in the box and the Boond arrives with none, so the real difference between the two setups is closer to ₹100 than to ₹1,000 — and once the money stops being the argument, the only question left is how big your studio actually is.
Quick answers — read this first
Studio over ~200 sq ft? Sukoon, ₹1,899. Rated 270–320 sq ft, and the three included scents make it a complete setup.

Under ~150 sq ft, or a 1RK? Boond, ₹899.

The tiebreaker: match the bottles. Boond plus three 15mls is ₹1,796. A Sukoon with three 15mls is ₹1,899. That is the whole gap.
The short answer
Short answer: The Sukoon (₹1,899) for any studio over roughly 200 sq ft, because it is rated 270–320 sq ft against the Boond's 150. Below that the Boond at ₹899 is genuinely enough and the extra money buys you nothing you will notice.
The money, honestly: A Boond plus one 15ml is ₹1,198. A Sukoon is ₹1,899 with three 15ml Hotel Collection scents. Buy the Boond three bottles to match and you are at ₹1,796 — ₹103 apart.
Do not decide on: Tank size alone. The Boond's 300ml lasts about six hours and the Sukoon's 500ml lasts 16–18 on low, but neither figure tells you whether the scent reaches the far end of the room. Coverage does.
Straight answer
Boond or Sukoon for a studio apartment?
1. Sukoon, for most studios. A typical Indian studio is 300–450 sq ft of connected air. The Sukoon is rated 270–320 sq ft and the Boond is rated 150. That single line decides it for most people before any feature comes into the argument.

2. Boond, if your studio is genuinely small. Under about 150 sq ft — a compact studio, a 1RK, a room in a shared flat — the Boond at ₹899 covers it properly. Buying a Sukoon for that space is not wrong, it is simply spending ₹1,000 on coverage you cannot use.

3. The three bottles change the maths. The Sukoon ships with three 15ml fragrances of your choice, worth ₹897 at the single-bottle price of ₹299. A Boond with the same three bottles is ₹1,796 against the Sukoon's ₹1,899. The machines are ₹1,000 apart; the setups are ₹103 apart.

4. Runtime is the quiet difference. The Boond does about six hours a fill, which means refilling most evenings. The Sukoon does 16–18 on low and 9–12 on high, so one tank covers two or three nights of ordinary use. In a studio you walk past the machine constantly, so this matters more than it sounds.

5. A second Boond is not an upgrade. If one Boond is not reaching the far corner, two will not fix it — in one undivided volume the air is already connected, so you get a strong end and a weak end. One machine with the right rating, placed well.

TL;DR: Sukoon for a studio over roughly 200 sq ft, Boond under 150. The ₹1,000 price gap is mostly an illusion — the Sukoon includes three 15ml scents, so matched bottle for bottle the two setups are ₹103 apart.
SOSA Sukoon 500ml ultrasonic cool mist diffuser
The studio-sized machine
SOSA Sukoon · 500ml ₹1,899
270–320 sq ft, 16–18 hours on low, remote, steady / 2H / 4H timers and auto shut-off when the tank runs dry. Ships with three 15ml Hotel Collection scents, which is what turns ₹1,899 from a price into a complete setup.

Why the ₹1,000 gap is not really ₹1,000

Compare the two listings and you compare two numbers: ₹899 and ₹1,899. That is a doubling, and doubling is a strong enough signal that most people stop reading and buy the cheaper one. But the two boxes do not contain the same thing. The Sukoon includes three 15ml Hotel Collection fragrances of your choice; the Boond includes none. At the single-bottle price of ₹299, that is ₹897 of fragrance sitting inside the higher number. Put the Boond on equal footing and it costs ₹1,796 — a hundred rupees under the Sukoon. You are not choosing between a cheap machine and an expensive one. You are choosing between two machines that cost within a rounding error of each other once both can actually be used.

Which means the decision has to be made on something real, and in a studio there is only one thing that is real: whether the mist reaches the far wall. Coverage ratings are not marketing — they describe roughly how much air a given output rate can hold at a perceptible concentration. The Boond puts out enough for about 150 sq ft; the Sukoon for 270–320. A 340 sq ft studio with a Boond in it does not smell faintly of white tea throughout. It smells of white tea within two metres of the machine and of nothing at the other end, which is the specific disappointment people describe when they say a diffuser "stopped working". It did not stop working. It was asked to fill a volume it was never rated for.

The three decisions

1
WHERE THE BOOND WINS
Small, cheap, and better on a desk than you would expect
SOSA Boond mini diffuserSOSA Boond₹899Under about 150 sq ft the Boond is not the compromise, it is the correct machine. It is USB-powered, so it runs off a laptop brick or a power bank rather than needing a wall socket — genuinely useful in a studio where sockets are scarce and mostly behind furniture. The colour night light is the feature people dismiss and then keep — a soft glow on a bedside table in a room with no separate bedroom is worth having. It is also the honest way to test the habit, for ₹899 rather than ₹1,899.
Buy it if: your studio is under 150 sq ft, or you want to test the habit before committing.
2
WHERE THE SUKOON WINS
Coverage, runtime, and not having to cross the room
The Sukoon is rated 270–320 sq ft, which is the size a studio actually is, and that alone settles it for most flats. Behind the coverage number sit the things you notice on day forty rather than day one. Sixteen to eighteen hours per fill on low — nine to twelve on high — against the Boond's six, which is the difference between filling the tank most evenings and filling it twice a week. A remote, which stops sounding like a gimmick the first time your only free socket turns out to be behind the bed. Steady, two-hour and four-hour timers, so the machine stops on its own rather than emptying a bottle overnight. Auto shut-off when the tank runs dry. And three 15ml fragrances in the box.
Buy it if: your studio is over roughly 200 sq ft — which most of them are.
3
THE TIEBREAKER
Match the bottles, then decide
If you are still torn, do this one sum. A Boond at ₹899 plus a single 15ml at ₹299 is ₹1,198 and gives you one scent. A Sukoon is ₹1,899 and gives you three. To put the Boond on the same footing you buy three 15mls — ₹899 + ₹897 = ₹1,796 — and you are within ₹103 of the Sukoon with a machine that covers half the area and runs a quarter as long. At that point the argument is over. The only case where the Boond survives the sum is the case where you genuinely do not want three scents and your room is small: ₹1,198 for a complete, correctly sized setup in a 1RK is the best value in the range, and I say that without qualification. Pick Westin-inspired White Tea Serenity or 1 Hotels-inspired Forest Suite if you are buying one bottle and want it to work day and night.

The specs, side by side

The verified figures from both listings, with what each one actually decides. Coverage ratings assume a closed room without a strong draught — a ceiling fan on three or an AC blowing across the machine cuts both numbers, and it cuts the smaller one further.

Both machines, and the fragrance that runs in either
The SOSA principle
Compare the machines and the gap is ₹1,000. Compare the setups, bottle for bottle, and the gap is ₹103.
The Sukoon's three included 15ml fragrances are worth ₹897. That is why the coverage rating, not the price, should decide this.

Placement, drops and schedule — and how they differ by machine

The two machines want to stand in different places, and this is rarely said. The Boond is a short-throw machine: at 150 sq ft its useful radius is small, so it belongs close to where you actually are — the bedside table, the desk, the shelf beside the sofa — rather than in a notional centre of the room. The Sukoon is the opposite. Give it distance. Roughly a metre off the floor on a console or a chest of drawers, set back from the wall by a hand's width so the mist is not condensing on plaster, and as far from the hob as a studio allows. Both should sit out of the direct line of a fan or a split AC, because moving air does not distribute fragrance evenly — it pushes it against one wall and holds it there.

Drops differ too, and not in the direction people assume. The general guidance for the Hotel Collection is three to six per tank, but that is per tank, not per room. The Boond's 300ml tank takes two to three drops; the Sukoon's 500ml takes three to four in a studio. The Boond is not a weaker scent experience because it is smaller — sitting a metre from your bed at three drops it can easily be stronger than a Sukoon across the room. Undershoot on both. In one undivided space you are scenting your pillow as well as your sofa, and a dose that reads as pleasant at 8pm reads as too much at 1am.

Schedule is where the Sukoon earns its money. Set the four-hour timer for the evening and let it stop on its own; you get the room you wanted between seven and eleven and you are not burning fragrance through the night for an unconscious audience. The Boond has no timer, so you either let it run its six hours and stop itself when the tank empties, or you switch it off before bed. Whichever you buy, rinse the tank when you change scent, use filtered water in hard-water cities, and never put raw essential or carrier oil in either machine. Both are ultrasonic and both will clog.

Two machines a thousand rupees apart, and the honest difference between them is how far the scent travels — not what it costs.

Sukoon, the long haul Sukoon ₹1,899 + a 300ml bottle ₹1,799 (~₹6/ml) 270–320 sq ft ₹3,698
Honest notes before you buy: the three included 15ml fragrances are the whole reason the Sukoon's ₹1,899 is not the expensive option it looks like — matched bottle for bottle the two setups are ₹103 apart, so buy on coverage. Running cost after either is a 100ml refill from ₹999, or 300ml at ₹1,799 which works out around ₹6 per millilitre. These are ultrasonic, water-based fragrances, so both machines add a little humidity — welcome in a dry or air-conditioned studio, less so in a coastal monsoon. They are not for reed diffusers or for the waterless nebulisers, Vaayu (₹11,999) and Aangan (₹25,999), which run neat oil and cannot take the water-based Hotel Collection at all — and both are commercial machines, wildly out of scale for a studio. The machines (Boond, Sukoon, Megh) are imported from China; the Hotel Collection fragrances are composed and made in India. Use filtered water in hard-water areas, rinse between scents, keep fragrance away from children and pets. The scents are SOSA's own interpretations inspired by the world's finest hotels; SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand. A note from Sonal

This is the comparison I am asked to settle most often, and people usually want me to say the Boond is fine — because ₹899 feels like a sensible amount to spend on something you are not certain about. Sometimes it is fine. But the reason people write back disappointed is almost never the machine's quality. It is that they put a 150 sq ft machine in a 350 sq ft room and concluded that home fragrance does not work.

What I would like more people to notice is the bottles. I priced the Sukoon with three fragrances included deliberately, because a diffuser with nothing in it is not a product, it is half a product, and the number of people who buy a machine and then hesitate over which scent to add is very high. Three bottles means you start with a choice rather than a commitment. It also means the honest comparison is ₹1,796 against ₹1,899, not ₹899 against ₹1,899 — and once you see it that way the decision stops being about money.

So measure the room, roughly, in paces if you have no tape. Under 150 sq ft, buy the Boond and one bottle and be pleased with ₹1,198. Over 200, buy the Sukoon and stop thinking about it. A portion of either order funds a girl's classroom through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Sukoon worth ₹1,000 more than the Boond for a studio?
In most studios, yes — but the gap is not really ₹1,000. The Sukoon ships with three 15ml Hotel Collection fragrances worth ₹897, so a Boond matched bottle for bottle costs ₹1,796 against the Sukoon's ₹1,899. What you are really buying is coverage: 270–320 sq ft versus 150.
At what size studio should I stop considering the Boond?
Around 200 sq ft. Below roughly 150 the Boond is properly rated for the space and is the right machine, not the budget one. Between 150 and 200 it will work but will read as faint at the far end. Above 200 you are asking it to do a job it is not built for, and no amount of extra drops fixes a coverage shortfall — it just makes the area near the machine too strong.
Can I buy two Boonds instead of one Sukoon?
Two Boonds cost ₹1,798, which is almost a Sukoon, and they will not cover more of a studio. A studio is one undivided body of air, so two machines in it do not add their coverage figures together — you get a strong end and a weak end. Coverage adds up across separate rooms with doors between them, not within one open volume.
Does the Boond's six-hour runtime matter in a studio?
More than you expect, because you are never far from the machine. Six hours means filling the tank most evenings; the Sukoon's 16–18 hours on low means twice a week. The Sukoon's 2H and 4H timers matter too — they stop the machine before you fall asleep, which saves fragrance and stops the room becoming too strong overnight.
Which fragrance should I start with in either machine?
Something that works for sleeping and sitting, since a studio is one air space doing both jobs. Westin-inspired White Tea Serenity and The Ritz-Carlton-inspired Quiet Luxury are the safe picks, and 1 Hotels-inspired Forest Suite if you want the room grounded rather than clean. A 15ml at ₹299 is enough to find out; the Pack of 7 at ₹1,799 is the way to try all seven.
