How much area does the Megh cover? Its rated coverage is around 215 sq ft, so for a very large hall I am honest that you may need to run it longer, turn the mist dial up, and place it centrally to spread scent evenly.
Is a big diffuser loud? The Megh runs at around 35 dB, which is library-quiet even at 6 litres. A large tank does not have to mean a noisy machine.
Why the Megh suits big rooms
Large spaces punish small diffusers in two ways: they empty too fast, and their thin mist cannot fill the air. The Megh answers both.
The adjustable dial. The Megh has a mist dial that spans roughly 60 to 350 ml per hour. In a big hall you turn it up so more cool mist enters the air; in a smaller adjoining room you dial it down to stretch the tank. That flexibility is exactly what a large, variable space needs.
Quiet at scale. Around 35 dB, the Megh is library-quiet even at 6 litres. You can run it through a film night or a family dinner without a hum competing with conversation.
It is also a humidifier where you need one most. Indian living rooms go bone-dry under AC in summer and in the winter chill; the Megh puts back a gentle cool humidity while it scents. That dual job is a real reason to size up for a big room.
And like all cool-mist units, there is no heating element - the water is turned to mist by vibration, not boiled - so no burn risk, and an auto shut-off when the tank empties.
Placing it in a large hall
Here is where I have to be honest rather than salesy. The Megh is rated for about 215 sq ft. A very large open-plan hall can be bigger than that, so placement and settings matter.
Reality: tank size governs how long it runs, not how far the scent travels. For a big hall, run the Megh longer, turn the dial up, and place it centrally so mist spreads outward - not tucked in a far corner.
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| Large open-plan living-dining | Place the Megh centrally, dial up the mist, and run it longer through the day. |
| Very dry AC or winter air | Use it for humidity as much as scent; a higher mist setting helps the room feel less parched. |
| You want scent, not much humidity | Dial the mist down and add a few drops of water-based fragrance; it lasts even longer. |
| Two adjoining rooms | Position near the doorway between them and let the mist drift; consider a second smaller unit for the other room. |
Finally, the honest limit that applies to every diffuser: it scents and humidifies, it does not purify the air. For a large living room, the Megh gives you days of a lightly scented, comfortably humid space - which, placed well, is exactly what a big room has been missing.

Versailles
I trained as a perfumer at ISIPCA in Versailles, but half the questions we get are not about scent at all - they are about the machine. Indian rooms are bone-dry from AC and winter, and most gadget diffusers are too small, too loud, or quit by midnight. So we made three: Boond (300ml, desk), Sukoon (500ml, bedroom, with a remote and mood light) and Megh (6L, whole-room), each shipping with three of our fragrances.
They are cool-mist ultrasonic diffusers - an ultrasonic plate turns water into a fine, cool mist with no heating element, so there is no boiling water or burn risk, and each has an auto shut-off when the tank runs dry.
One thing I say on every listing and will say here: use only SOSA's water-based Hotel Collection fragrance. Raw essential oils, perfumes and carrier oils are thick or solvent-heavy and can clog the misting plate and damage the unit. A few drops of our water-based fragrance in the tank mists cleanly and scents the whole room.
