One - putting both bottles on the desk
The two-zone setup needs two zones. A desk with two diffusers is still one zone. The whole point is that you have to physically leave the desk to reach the second scent.
Two - using the same scent for both zones
Same scent means same context. The brain does not get the cross-fade cue and the boundary fails. The two scents have to be obviously different to your nose.
Three - overdosing the desk reeds
