Fragrance refills in India: which one goes in what you own
Fragrance refills in India: which one goes in what you own
Ranked by units actually sold in the last thirty days, not by margin and not by what we would like to move. Figures are taken from our own order data on 18 October 2026 and cover 18 September to 18 October 2026.
The ranking
Every refill below is made for one kind of product only. The oils are formulated differently, and a refill in the wrong device will either not work or damage it. The section after the ranking tells you which is which.
Which refill goes in what?
The question that matters most on this page. Match the refill to the product you already own, never to the scent name alone.
Reed diffuser
Use Reed Diffuser Refills, in the five reed scents: Garden Bloom, Morning Freshness, Fresh Brew, Mountain Breeze and Evening Calm.
Pour into your existing SOSA vessel. Never pour ultrasonic or nebuliser fragrance into a reed vessel.
Hanging car perfume
Use Car Hanging Freshener Refills. One 15ml bottle fills the 12ml hanging bottle completely.
It is made for the hanging bottle. Do not decant it into a reed vessel or a diffuser.
Boond, Sukoon or Megh
Use Ultrasonic Diffuser Refills. These are water-based: a few drops go into the water tank.
Reed oil, nebuliser oil and random essential or carrier oils can clog the mist plate and damage the machine.
Vaayu or Safar
Use Waterless Nebuliser Refills. This is pure, undiluted oil that goes straight into the machine, with no water.
It is not for ultrasonic machines, and it is not reed oil. A Hotel Collection scent name on both refills does not make them interchangeable.
Refill or a new bottle?
The honest arithmetic, at today's prices.
Where the refill clearly wins
Reed: a 130ml diffuser works out at roughly ₹10 per ml. A 300ml refill is about ₹8 per ml, and a 500ml refill about ₹7 per ml.
Ultrasonic: the 15ml bottle is about ₹20 per ml, the 100ml about ₹10, and the 300ml about ₹6. If you use your machine most days, the 300ml is the sensible buy.
Where the saving is small
Car: a 15ml refill costs ₹50 to ₹100 less than a new 12ml bottle in the same scent. The real reason to buy it is that you keep the glass you already have, not the money.
If you want to try a different scent, a new bottle in that scent is just as reasonable a choice. A refill only makes sense once you know you want more of the same.
