What happens if you don't clean it
Skipping cleaning does not break a diffuser overnight. It degrades it quietly, and here is exactly how.
Scale weakens the mist. Hard water leaves a chalky mineral crust on the ultrasonic plate. That crust dampens the vibration, so the mist thins day by day. Left long enough, it stops the mist entirely - and people assume the machine has died when it just needs a descale.
Stagnant water smells. Water left standing in a warm tank grows a thin biofilm within a day or two. That film smells musty, and the mist carries it out into the room. Emptying the tank after use prevents it completely.

The five-minute care routine
This is the whole thing. It takes minutes and it is the difference between a diffuser that lasts years and one that disappoints in months.
