Why choose an ultrasonic over a reed diffuser?
You choose an ultrasonic when you want more control and more presence: it actively mists fragrance so the throw is stronger, you can turn it up or down, and it adds a little humidity to dry air - useful in a bigger room or an AC-parched one. The trade is that it needs power and a weekly clean. A reed asks for none of that - it is flame-free, silent, needs no electricity and just sits there working - but it is gentler and you cannot dial it up.
