Thanking a Major Client Without Sending Another Corporate Gift Box

By Sonal Sahani · ISIPCA Versailles 12 min read Updated September 2026
Worth being precise about what is bothering you, because it is not the price. A corporate gift box does not feel impersonal because it is cheap. It feels impersonal because the recipient can see it was chosen for a category of people rather than for a person. Anybody can tell. A ₹1,498 to ₹1,598 duo set is a better object than most of what turns up in that category, and it is honest to say up front that it does not fully solve the problem either. It is still a standard product from a published range.
SOSA Warmth and Bloom reed diffuser duo gift set, two 50ml bottles, Rs 1,598
SOSA Warmth & Bloom reed duo · two 50ml bottles, one box ₹1,598 →
The pairing that most reads as chosen rather than as household supply. SOSA Warmth & Bloom, ₹1,598 for two 50ml bottles - Fresh Brew coffee-vanilla with Garden Bloom rose and night jasmine, about 6 to 10 weeks each, already one box. It is also the most declarative of the three, so it is the right choice only if you know something real about the home it is going to.
Quick answers — read this first
What makes a corporate gift feel impersonal? Not the money. It is that the gift was visibly selected for a category - clients, vendors, the top tier - rather than for the person opening it. A recipient can read that instantly, and no amount of value assembled into a box hides it. A duo set at ₹1,498 to ₹1,598 is a single considered object rather than a collection priced to a number, which helps, but it does not fix the underlying thing.

Does a reed diffuser set fix the impersonal problem? Partly and honestly not entirely. It is one object, not a value assembled from parts, and it goes into a room rather than onto a person, so it assumes nothing. But it is still a product anybody can buy from a published price list. What actually changes the register is the note you write - and SOSA supplies no message-card service, no wrapping and no ribbon, so that part is genuinely yours to do.

How much should a thank-you gift for a major client cost? The published ladder is short. One 50ml reed is ₹749 to ₹849, one 130ml is ₹1,249 to ₹1,349, a 50ml duo is ₹1,498 to ₹1,598 and a 130ml duo is ₹2,498 to ₹2,598. Spending more does not buy the considered part. Knowing whether their home has two rooms worth scenting does.
The short answer
Short answer: A corporate gift box feels impersonal because it was obviously chosen for a category of people, not for a person, and price does not change that. A SOSA duo set at Rs 1,498 to Rs 1,598 is one considered object rather than a value assembled from parts, but it is still a standard product. What changes the register is the note you write, and SOSA supplies no message-card service, so that part is yours.
The pick: A 50ml duo set at ₹1,498 to ₹1,598, two bottles in one box. Warmth & Bloom at ₹1,598 is the pairing that most reads as chosen rather than as household supply - if you know enough about them to choose it.
Why: It is a single object rather than a collection priced to a number, it goes into a room and assumes nothing about the person, and it leaves the considered part where it belongs, which is in what you write.
Sending something when somebody is having a hard time - at a glanceKeep it small - candle ₹399, attar ₹379, car scent ₹449For their home - reed diffuser ₹749, nothing to switch onSay the words yourself - no card goes in the parcelNever - a parcel instead of turning up
A gift cannot change how somebody's week went, and a page that suggests otherwise is not worth reading. What a small parcel does is tell a person you were thinking about them on a day when nothing made you - which is a real thing to say, and worth saying. Keep it small, because a large one asks somebody already short of energy to produce a reaction, and send the words separately, because the object cannot carry them.
Straight answer
How do I thank a major client without sending another impersonal corporate gift box?
Start by naming the problem accurately, because the usual fix does not address it. A corporate gift box does not read as impersonal because of what it cost. Plenty of them cost a great deal. It reads as impersonal because the person opening it can see the shape of the decision behind it: somebody had a list, a tier and a number, and this is what the number bought. The contents are interchangeable, the box is the same box forty other people received, and the recipient can price it within a hundred rupees. None of that is fixed by spending more; spending more usually makes it more obvious. A Day & Night duo at ₹1,498, Fresh & Grounded at ₹1,548 or Warmth & Bloom at ₹1,598 helps in two specific ways and it is worth being exact about them. It is one object rather than a value assembled from parts, so there is nothing to total up, and it goes into a room rather than onto a person, so it makes no guess about a body, a wardrobe or a taste in scent. Two 50ml bottles in a single box, each running about 6 to 10 weeks. Now the honest part. A duo set does not fully solve this. It is still a standard product from a published range, and if you send the same one to forty clients, that is what it is. The thing that genuinely changes the register is the note that goes with it - two or three sentences that could only have been written to that person, naming the thing they actually did this year. And SOSA does not supply that: there is no message-card service, no wrapping, no ribbon and no gift box service of any kind. The set turns up as the box the product is sold in. If you want a note in it, you write it and you put it in, and that is not a gap in the product so much as the one part of this that was never going to be outsourced. The only branding available anywhere is a custom label or logo on product, and that is a WhatsApp conversation at +91 96192 18531. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The recipient is not asking what did this cost. They are asking was any part of this about me, and that question is answered by the note, not by the box.
The working answer: a 50ml duo at ₹1,498 to ₹1,598 - one object, two rooms, nothing to assemble and nothing to total up. What you add is the note, because SOSA supplies no message-card service and no wrapping.
Reed duo sets from ₹1,498

What impersonal actually names, and the one part of it a product cannot fix

Three things, in an order that matters. The first names the actual problem, because most solutions to it are aimed at the wrong target. The second is what a fragrance set does and does not change. The third is the part nobody sells you, and it is the part that does the work.

1
Name it properly
Impersonal is a statement about the decision, not the budget
Think about the last corporate gift you received that landed flat. Almost certainly it was not cheap. What made it flat was that you could reconstruct the decision behind it in about four seconds: somebody drew up a list, sorted it into tiers, attached a number to each tier and bought whatever that number buys in bulk. You were a row.

That is what impersonal means here. It is a legible decision process, not a low price. And it explains why the standard escalation fails. Moving from a ₹1,500 assortment to a ₹5,000 assortment does not hide the process, it enlarges it. The recipient now knows exactly which tier they were sorted into, and the fact that it was the good tier is not the compliment people imagine it is.

A large assembled gift box is especially exposed to this, because a collection of items invites totalling. Sweets, dry fruit, a small bottle of something, a branded notebook: each part has a visible price and the sum is the message. A single named object does not work that way. Nobody opens one bottle and starts doing arithmetic, because there is nothing to add up.

So the first move is not to spend differently. It is to send one thing instead of an assortment.
Tip: A collection of items invites the recipient to price it. One object does not offer them the chance.
2
What the set actually changes
Real improvements, and one thing it does not fix
Two things genuinely improve when you move from an assembled box to a duo set.

It is one object. Two 50ml bottles, one box, nothing to unpack into a category of items and nothing to assemble at your end either - which also means nobody in your office is standing over a table at 11pm the night before filling boxes. That is a fact about boxes rather than a claim about anybody's feelings.

It goes into a room. A perfume or an attar from ₹379 is worn, which assumes you know what a client already wears and what their skin does with it. If you cannot name their current scent out loud, you are guessing on their behalf. A reed diffuser is a decision about a console table.

And now the thing it does not fix. A duo set is a standard product. It has a price anybody can look up, it is not composed to order, and there are exactly three pairings. If you send it to forty clients it is a standard product sent to forty people, and the recipient who has received corporate gifts before will read it as such. That is not an argument against it - the alternatives have the same property and most of them are worse objects. It is an argument against believing the box is doing something it is not.

The one place your knowledge of the person can show is the choice itself: which pairing, and which size. Warmth & Bloom at ₹1,598 for somebody whose home you have been inside. The 130ml duo at ₹2,498 to ₹2,598 only if you know their main room is genuinely large. If you know none of that, the set is a good object and the choosing was not personal, and it is better to know that than to pretend otherwise.
3
The part nobody supplies
The note is the gift. SOSA does not provide it and neither does anybody else
Here is the uncomfortable conclusion of everything above. The variable that separates a gift that reads as considered from one that reads as processed is two or three sentences of specific text, written by a person who knows what happened this year.

Not thank you for your continued partnership. That is the same category error in words. Something closer to: the thing they personally unblocked in March, the deadline their team absorbed, the introduction they made without being asked. A client can tell in one line whether the person who wrote it was in the room.

SOSA does not supply any of this. There is no message-card service, no printed insert, no wrapping, no ribbon and no gift box service. The duo set turns up as the box the product is sold in, which is exactly why it answers the presentation question without help - but the note is not a presentation problem and it was never going to be solved by a supplier. The only branding SOSA offers anywhere is a custom label or logo on product.

Practically: write the note yourself, on paper, and get it into the box or hand it over with the gift. If you are sending to several clients, write several notes. If that sounds like too much work for forty people, that is useful information - it means you are running a category exercise, and the honest version of a category exercise is a good object sent plainly, without pretending it was personal.
Tip: If you will not write the note, send the gift anyway and skip the claim that it was chosen for them.
SOSA Fresh and Grounded reed diffuser duo gift set, Rs 1,548
The idea this whole question turns on
A duo is a second room, not a bigger gift for the same room
The 50ml duo sets are ₹1,498, ₹1,548 and ₹1,598 for two 50ml bottles - which is two small-to-medium rooms, not one room handled twice as hard. The 130ml duos at ₹2,498 to ₹2,598 are two large rooms. So the question to answer before the price is how many rooms you actually want handled, and how big they are. Somebody in a one-bedroom flat who spends every evening in the living room does not need a second bottle; somebody who has just taken possession of a 3BHK where every room smells of paint does.

Work it out in this order
Thanking a major client in four steps
  1. Send one object, not an assortment. A collection invites the recipient to price it.
  2. Pick a room gift, not a worn one. A 50ml duo is Rs 1,498 to Rs 1,598, two bottles.
  3. Let your knowledge show in the choice of pairing and size, or admit it did not.
  4. Write the note yourself. SOSA supplies no message-card service and no wrapping.
The SOSA principle
You cannot buy the considered part of a gift. You can only buy an object that does not actively get in its way, and then do the considering yourself in the two or three sentences that go with it.
Which means the real question is not which set to send. It is whether you are willing to write forty different notes, and what it says if the answer is no.

Which pairing reads as chosen rather than as supply

If your knowledge of this client is going to show anywhere, it shows in which pairing you pick, so it is worth knowing what each one is. Warmth & Bloom at ₹1,598 pairs Fresh Brew, Coorg coffee and Kerala vanilla, with Garden Bloom, British rose and night-blooming jasmine. It is the most declarative of the three and the one that most reads as chosen rather than as household supply - which is the point here, and also the risk, because a declarative scent sent to somebody whose home you have never been inside is a guess with a longer tail. Fresh & Grounded at ₹1,548 pairs Morning Freshness, Malabar lemon and mint, with Mountain Breeze, Himalayan pine, sage and cedar: dry and green, the least sweet and least floral, and the pairing to choose when you genuinely do not know. Day & Night at ₹1,498 pairs the same lemon-mint with Evening Calm, lavender and chamomile, the two quietest scents in the range. No pairing is universally liked, and a page that told you one was would be doing the same thing as a tiered gift list. Evening Calm is a name on a bottle of lavender and chamomile and describes nothing but its contents.

The SOSA gift edit
Four ways to thank a significant client, and what each one signals
The option Who it suits, and where it fails
A large assembled gift box · any budget The default, and the thing you are trying to get away from. Its specific failure is that a collection of items can be totalled, so the recipient reads a number rather than a gift. It also duplicates: in a heavy gifting season the same client receives several, and yours is distinguishable only by the label.
An attar or perfume · from ₹379 Genuinely personal when you can name what somebody already wears. With a client you almost never can, and the gift then puts them in the position of visibly not using it. It is worn rather than placed, which is the whole difficulty: it makes a claim about their body that a business relationship does not entitle you to make.
A 50ml duo set · ₹1,498 to ₹1,598 One object, two rooms, one box, nothing to assemble and nothing to total. Where this question usually lands. It fails if you expect the product to carry the considered part for you - it is a standard item from a published range, and without a note it reads as exactly that, just a better version of it.
A 130ml duo set · ₹2,498 to ₹2,598 The same three pairings in the large bottle, for two genuinely large rooms. Right when you have been inside the home. It fails as a way of signalling that this client matters more, because the extra thousand rupees buys bottle volume, and two large bottles in two small rooms both get moved into a corridor.
SOSA Warmth and Bloom reed diffuser duo gift set, Rs 1,598
The three pairings, and the one trade inside them
Three sets exist, the pairings are fixed, and one of them has no refill path
Day & Night ₹1,498 is lemon-mint with lavender-chamomile. Fresh & Grounded ₹1,548 is lemon-mint with pine, sage and cedar - the least sweet and the least floral of the three. Warmth & Bloom ₹1,598 is coffee-vanilla with rose and night jasmine, the most declarative. A set cannot be composed to order, so any other pairing is two separate bottles rather than a box. And one real trade: refills at ₹2,399 and ₹3,499 are published for four of the five scents, but not for Evening Calm - which is half of the cheapest set.
Compare the three duo sets →

Three things worth knowing before you commit. First, the published ladder: one 50ml ₹749 to ₹849, one 130ml ₹1,249 to ₹1,349, a 50ml duo ₹1,498 to ₹1,598, then no reed diffuser and no duo set is published between ₹1,598 and ₹2,398, then a 130ml duo ₹2,498 to ₹2,598. Second, Refills at ₹2,399 for 300ml and ₹3,499 for 500ml cover four of the five scents and Evening Calm publishes none. Evening Calm is half of the ₹1,498 Day & Night set, so the cheapest duo is the one whose second bottle has no published continuation. Third, the commercial position, stated plainly because a business reader deserves it: SOSA publishes a retail catalogue and a WhatsApp number and no bulk rate, no minimum order quantity, no volume discount, no payment terms and no rate card. The prices above are retail and you are welcome to multiply them yourself. Bulk orders are welcome, and anything about quantity is settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531.

SOSA Day and Night reed diffuser duo gift set, Rs 1,498

SOSA Warmth and Bloom reed diffuser duo gift set, Rs 1,598

When the answer is a machine rather than more bottles
A bottle asks nothing. A machine asks for water, power and attention every week
Two reed diffusers cover two rooms. Nothing in the reed range covers a whole home, and no square-footage rating is published for any of them. If a home genuinely needs more than rooms handled one at a time, that is a machine question. Sukoon at ₹1,899 and Boond at ₹899 are ultrasonic cool-mist machines running the water-based Hotel Collection from ₹299 - they need water, a socket and refilling, which is a real ask of somebody who did not choose them. SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 is the waterless one: cold-air nebulising of undiluted oil, rated for approximately 1000 m3 of connected air, with a Bluetooth app and timer, a 400ml tank, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, DC 12V / 1A 5W mains power and CE, RoHS and SGS marks. That rating assumes one connected body of air, so a Vaayu suits a large open home or a business and is the wrong gift for a three-bedroom flat with every door closed. Vaayu runs waterless nebuliser oil at ₹1,049 for 100 gm and ₹1,849 for 300 gm and never takes the ₹299 water-based bottle. All of it adds a scent to a space; none of it removes one.

Nobody has ever described a gift as impersonal because it cost ₹1,598. They describe it that way when they can see they were a row on a list, and the only thing that contradicts that is a sentence only you could have written.

The SOSA gifting range

Two questions settle almost every reed diffuser gift, and the first one is not price. How big is the room it is going into? A 50ml suits a bedroom, a study, a hallway or a first diffuser; a 130ml suits an open-plan living and dining area, and it is genuinely too much for a small closed bedroom. Then: how much do you actually know about their taste? The less you know, the less declarative the scent should be - Morning Freshness is the safest of the five for a home you have never stood in, and Fresh Brew coffee-vanilla is the strongest opinion in the range. Price follows those two answers rather than leading them.

The SOSA home fragrance ladder
A duo is two rooms, not a bigger gift for one room - decide by the rooms first
Option What it is What it suits Price
SOSA reed duo sets, 50ml x 2 Two 50ml bottles in one box Day & Night ₹1,498, Fresh & Grounded ₹1,548, Warmth & Bloom ₹1,598 - two small-to-medium rooms, and already a box with nothing to assemble from ₹1,498
SOSA reed duo sets, 130ml x 2 The same three pairings, larger ₹2,498, ₹2,548 and ₹2,598 - for two genuinely large rooms, and too much for two small closed bedrooms from ₹2,498
A single 50ml reed diffuser One small or medium room ₹749 to ₹849, about 6 to 10 weeks - a bedroom, a study, a hallway, or anybody receiving their first diffuser from ₹749
A single 130ml reed diffuser One large room ₹1,249 to ₹1,349 - an open-plan living and dining area, and the wrong choice for a small closed bedroom from ₹1,249
SOSA reed refills 300ml and 500ml ₹2,399 and ₹3,499, published for four of the five scents - Evening Calm publishes none, which matters if the gift was the Day & Night duo ₹2,399 / ₹3,499
SOSA Sukoon Ultrasonic cool-mist machine ₹1,899 plus water-based Hotel Collection fragrance from ₹299 - a machine asks for water and power every week, which a bottle never does ₹1,899
SOSA Vaayu Waterless cold-air machine Approximately 1000 m3 of connected air with a Bluetooth app and timer - a large open home or a business, not a flat with every door shut ₹11,999

There are three duo sets and only three, and the pairings are fixed - a set cannot be composed to order, so any other pairing is simply two separate bottles. There is no three-bottle or four-bottle set, and SOSA has no hamper, gift box, wrapping, ribbon or message-card service; the only branding available anywhere is a custom label or logo on product. All five reeds run about 6 to 10 weeks, which is the only duration SOSA publishes, and no square-footage rating is published for any reed. Prices above are published retail prices; bulk orders are welcome and quantities are settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 rather than priced on a page. SOSA is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune and sends orders across India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

The honest price sheet
The published ladder, including the gap in it
Everything below is on the live product pages. Anything not on this list is not something a page like this should state.
  • One 50ml reed - Morning Freshness ₹749, Garden Bloom and Evening Calm ₹799, Mountain Breeze and Fresh Brew ₹849. One 130ml reed - ₹1,249 to ₹1,349. All five run about 6 to 10 weeks in either size, because the larger bottle is for a larger room and not for a longer life.
  • The three duo sets - Day & Night ₹1,498, Fresh & Grounded ₹1,548 and Warmth & Bloom ₹1,598 as two 50ml bottles; ₹2,498, ₹2,548 and ₹2,598 as two 130ml bottles. These three pairings are the whole set range - a set is not composed to order, and there is no three-bottle or four-bottle set.
  • The gap worth knowing about - the ladder runs one 50ml ₹749, one 130ml ₹1,249, a 50ml duo ₹1,498, then no reed diffuser and no duo set published between ₹1,598 and ₹2,398 (the ₹1,899 Sukoon machine sits in that band, but it is a machine and not a bottle), then a 130ml duo ₹2,498. A budget of about ₹2,000 is therefore answered by the 50ml duo coming in under it, not by stretching to the larger set - the larger set is a room-size decision.
  • Refills - 300ml ₹2,399 and 500ml ₹3,499, published for four of the five scents. Evening Calm publishes no refill, and Evening Calm is one of the two bottles in the ₹1,498 Day & Night duo - so the cheapest set is the one whose second bottle has no published continuation.
  • Machines, if rooms are not the unit - Boond ₹899 and Sukoon ₹1,899 run the water-based Hotel Collection from ₹299 and need water, power and refilling. Vaayu ₹11,999 is waterless, rated for approximately 1000 m3 of connected air. Megh ₹5,999.
  • Not published, and therefore never stated here: any square-footage or room-volume rating for a reed diffuser, any duration other than about 6 to 10 weeks, how often reeds should be turned, any bulk rate, minimum order quantity, slab or volume discount, any dispatch or delivery timing, any case pack or carton size, any claim about how a recipient will feel, and any claim that a gift changes a business result. Those go to WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.

A note from Sonal

The question I get most often about the duo sets is not about scent. It is a slightly embarrassed version of: will one bottle look cheap? And I understand it, because a single 50ml reed in a box is a small object to hand to somebody whose house you have just walked into for the first time.

But the honest answer is that a duo is not a bigger gift. It is a second room. That is the whole difference, and it is a much more useful way to think about it than price. If the person you are buying for lives in a one-bedroom flat and spends their evenings in the living room, the second bottle does not make the gift better - it makes the gift into something they have to find a home for. If they have just moved into a 3BHK and every room smells of paint, the second bottle is the point.

Where I would push back hardest is on the 130ml duo. People reach for it because it is the most expensive thing in the reed range and it feels like the safest way to be generous. The 130ml is the large room's bottle, not the better bottle. Two of them in two small closed bedrooms is not a generous gift; it is two rooms nobody wants to sit in. A 50ml duo at ₹1,498 in the right two rooms beats a 130ml duo at ₹2,498 in the wrong two, every single time.

And the part I will not pretend about: there are three pairings and they are fixed. I cannot put Garden Bloom and Evening Calm in a box for you. If that is the combination you want, it is two bottles rather than a set, and it is worth knowing that before you decide whether the box mattered to you in the first place.

Frequently asked questions

Why does a corporate gift feel impersonal even when it is expensive?
Because the recipient can see the decision behind it: a list, a tier and a number. Price does not hide that, it enlarges it. A collection of items also invites totalling, so it reads as a value rather than as a gift. Sending one considered object instead of an assortment removes the arithmetic, which helps, though it does not by itself make the gift personal.
Does a reed diffuser duo set actually solve the problem?
Partly. It is one object rather than a value assembled from parts, and it goes into a room rather than onto a person, so it assumes nothing about their taste or body. But it is still a standard product from a published range at Rs 1,498 to Rs 1,598, and if forty clients receive the same one, that is what it is. The note is what changes the register.
Does SOSA add a written note or any presentation to the gift?
No. There is no message-card service, no printed insert, no wrapping, no ribbon and no engraving. A duo set turns up as the box the product is sold in, which is why it answers the presentation question on its own. If you want a note with it, you write it and include it yourself. The only branding available is a custom label or logo on product.
How much should I spend to thank a major client?
The published range for reeds is short: Rs 749 to Rs 849 for one 50ml, Rs 1,249 to Rs 1,349 for one 130ml, Rs 1,498 to Rs 1,598 for a 50ml duo and Rs 2,498 to Rs 2,598 for a 130ml duo. Spending more does not buy the considered part. Choose the size by how large their rooms are, which is the only thing the extra money actually changes.
What happens if I want the same gift for several clients?
Multiply the published retail prices yourself, because that arithmetic is public. SOSA publishes no bulk rate, no minimum order quantity, no volume discount and no payment terms. Bulk orders are welcome and the numbers are a conversation on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531, along with a custom label or logo on product if you want one.

Take the next step
Send one object, choose it knowingly, and write the note yourself
A 50ml duo from ₹1,498 when you want one considered object rather than an assortment. Warmth & Bloom at ₹1,598 when you know the home. Fresh & Grounded at ₹1,548 when you honestly do not. SOSA supplies no wrapping and no message-card service, so the note is yours to write - which is the part that was always going to matter most.
Not sure which one suits the person you are buying for? Send SOSA their age, whether they drive, whether they like their home scented and your budget on WhatsApp, and you will get an honest answer - including when the cheaper product is the better gift.

About commercial terms: the prices above are published retail prices. SOSA publishes no bulk or wholesale rate, no minimum order quantity, no volume slab or discount, no dispatch or delivery window, no order cut-off, no payment or credit term, no rate card, no case pack, no carton size and no unit weight, and none is stated anywhere on this page; bulk orders are welcome and are discussed on WhatsApp. The only branding available is a custom label or logo on product - there is no custom box, printed sleeve, insert card, gift wrap, ribbon, message card or hamper service. SOSA has no shop, showroom, stockist, counter or warehouse in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mysuru or any other city, and nothing on this page should be read as claiming one; where a city is named, it refers to the homes and the buyers in that city and nothing more. Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent and does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify odour, and no SOSA product makes any health, antibacterial, air-purifying or wellbeing claim. No claim is made anywhere on this page about mood, stress, calm, sleep, comfort or wellbeing: fragrance is a scent, not a treatment, and where a product name contains a word such as Calm that is a name and not an effect. No claim is made about how any recipient will feel about a gift, and no claim is made that a gift changes any business result - not a satisfaction score, repeat business, referrals, reviews, retention or recall. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
