Does SOSA include a card with the gift? No. SOSA does not enclose a printed card with an order and does not offer any note-with-the-order service, so anything you want said has to be written and sent by you, separately. On a thank-you that is a feature rather than a gap, because a card somebody else prints is not the sentence you meant.
Should a thank-you gift be expensive to count? No, and size works against you here. The bigger the object, the more the exchange becomes about the object - its price, whether it was too much, where it goes. A small consumable under about ₹1,000 leaves the conversation where you wanted it.
Why the object should stay small, and what to do about the words
Three things decide a thank-you gift, and only one of them is the product. The other two are size and the words, which is not the order most gift guides put them in.
This is not an argument for being cheap, it is an argument about attention. A 3ml attar at ₹379 to ₹399 is a complete, well-made thing; it is simply not large enough to take over. If your instinct says that a bigger gift would demonstrate how much you mean it, notice that the demonstration you actually have available is the sentence, and it costs nothing.
Which means the words are yours. Write them and send them separately, or say them when you hand the thing over. That is more work than ticking a box and it is also the only version that is actually from you - a printed line chosen from a list is not the sentence you meant, and on a thank-you the sentence is the entire point. If you want the practical version: one specific thing you are thanking him for, in one or two lines, written rather than typed.
What does not belong on a thank-you is SOSA Safar at ₹3,999 unless he genuinely drives for hours or travels constantly - and even then, be honest with yourself about whether you are buying it for his week or to mark the size of the thank-you. For a father who drives twice a week it is the wrong object at any budget.
- Write the sentence first. One specific thing, in one or two lines.
- Set a ceiling of about Rs 1,000 so the object stays a carrier.
- Pick by routine: his car at Rs 449, his shelf at Rs 379, his chair at Rs 749.
- Send the words separately. Nothing printed comes with the order.
What to buy, and the sizes that stay out of the way
If you can name something he already wears, the 3ml attar is the size that fits this page. Ameeri at ₹385 is Taif rose with Indian sandalwood, Persian saffron and soft oudh - the one that reads as festive and traditional without being heavy. Nawaab at ₹399 is white royal oud with Mysore sandalwood and Kashmir saffron. Mastani at ₹389 is night-blooming jasmine with damask rose and oudh, and Adaa at ₹379 is bergamot, green cardamom and jasmine sambac. None of these is published as a fragrance for one gender or another. If you cannot name what he wears, go to the car instead: Sandalwood ₹479, Oud ₹509, Vetiver ₹509 for something dry and earthy, Lemon ₹499 or Icy Mint ₹489 if he dislikes anything sweet, each in a mild hanging format or a stronger spray at the same price.
| The option | Who it suits, and where it fails |
|---|---|
| A 3ml attar · ₹379 to ₹399 | The smallest complete gift in the range and the one that stays out of the way of the sentence. Alcohol-free oil rolled on rather than sprayed, which is the format many Indian fathers grew up with. Ameeri at ₹385 is the warm traditional one. It fails if you cannot name what he wears - a guessed scent is still a guess at any price. |
| Car fragrance · ₹449 to ₹549 | The strongest choice when you cannot name a scent, because a car needs no opinion about his taste. Hanging or spray at the same price, and refills at ₹399 to ₹429 if he already owns the bottle. It fails for a father who barely drives, and the spray is the wrong format for somebody who dislikes insistent scent in a closed car. |
| A 50ml reed diffuser · ₹749 to ₹849 | The right size when he is home most hours of the day and the room he sits in has never been scented. About 6 to 10 weeks, nothing to plug in. It fails if you aim it at a formal living room out of habit, and the 130ml from ₹1,249 is too much for the small room these usually belong in. |
| Anything above ₹3,000 · including SOSA Safar at ₹3,999 | This is the row to read twice. A large object starts its own conversation about cost and obligation, and on a thank-you that conversation replaces yours. SOSA Safar is a waterless, cordless, rechargeable cold-diffusion car and travel perfume diffuser and a good gift for a father who genuinely drives for hours - but if the reason you are looking at it is to match the size of the thank-you, buy the ₹449 bottle and write a better note. |
On sizes: 3ml rather than 6ml or 12ml, hanging rather than spray, 50ml rather than 130ml. That is not a budget instruction, it is a fit one. The 12ml attar at ₹1,149 to ₹1,199 is a six-month supply and a long commitment to a guess; the 3ml at ₹379 to ₹399 is a complete thing that gets finished, which is exactly what you want from something handed over with a sentence attached. If he already uses a SOSA car fragrance and has run it down, the hanging refills at ₹399 to ₹429 are the most observant version of this whole page - small, obviously noticed, and impossible to read as excessive.
The SOSA gifting range
Three questions settle almost every father gift. Will it be worn, in which case it is a taste decision and you need to be able to finish the sentence he usually wears something with...? Does it go in his car, where the only real choice is between the mild hanging format and the stronger spray at the same price, and where the gift is noticed every single morning? Or does it sit in a room, which is the answer for a retired father or one who works from home, and which asks nothing of you except knowing which room he actually sits in? Answer that first, then pick the band - because the commonest mistake here is spending more to cover up not knowing.
| Gift | What it is | Who it suits | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| SOSA attars | Alcohol-free roll-on oil | Nawaab is the oud one and Ameeri the rose-and-sandalwood one - the traditional formats most Indian fathers already recognise | from ₹379 |
| SOSA Attar Trio | Pack of three attars | Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani in one box - for when you cannot name what he wears | from ₹1,055 |
| SOSA car fragrance | Hanging or spray | Nine scents, each in a mild hanging format and a stronger spray at the same price - the gap in most fathers' lives | from ₹449 |
| SOSA Safar | Waterless car and travel diffuser | Cordless, rechargeable cold diffusion for a father who genuinely drives for hours or lives out of a suitcase | ₹3,999 |
| SOSA reed diffusers | Passive home fragrance | Five scents in 50ml and 130ml, nothing to plug in or switch off, about 6 to 10 weeks - the retired-father answer | from ₹749 |
| SOSA reed duo sets | Two reeds in one box | Day & Night, Fresh & Grounded and Warmth & Bloom - a gift to both parents rather than one | from ₹1,498 |
| SOSA Vaayu | Waterless cold-air machine | Approx 1000 m3 of connected air with a Bluetooth app and timer - a large home or his business premises | ₹11,999 |
Three different fluids run through this range and none of them is interchangeable. Reed diffusers use their own alcohol-free reed oil. The SOSA ultrasonics - Boond ₹899, Sukoon ₹1,899 and Megh ₹3,499 - run the water-based Hotel Collection from ₹299. Vaayu and Safar run waterless nebulising oil, so the ₹299 water-based bottle never goes into either of them. SOSA blends are SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations and SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
- Attars - Adaa ₹379 / ₹669 / ₹1,149, Ameeri ₹385 / ₹679 / ₹1,165, Mastani ₹389 / ₹685 / ₹1,179 and Nawaab ₹399 / ₹699 / ₹1,199 in 3ml, 6ml and 12ml. The Attar Trio is ₹1,055, ₹1,859 or ₹3,189.
- Reed diffusers - Morning Freshness ₹749, Garden Bloom and Evening Calm ₹799, Mountain Breeze and Fresh Brew ₹849 in 50ml; 130ml from ₹1,249. They last about 6 to 10 weeks. Duo sets from ₹1,498.
- Car fragrance - nine scents from ₹449 to ₹549, each in a mild hanging format and a stronger spray at the same price, with 50ml sprays at ₹1,499 and saver combos at ₹899 to ₹949. Safar is ₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired trios.

Versailles
A striking number of the messages we get start the same way: my father says he doesn't want anything. In my experience that sentence almost never means what it says. It usually means do not spend money on me, which is a different instruction entirely, and it is one you can actually follow. The gift that works is small, it is used up rather than kept, and it goes somewhere he already is. That is why so much of what I recommend for fathers costs between ₹379 and ₹1,000, and why I am perfectly happy to talk somebody out of the bigger box.
The second thing I say is: look at his car. An Indian father who commutes has a space that belongs entirely to him, that he spends more waking hours in than any room of the house, and that he has almost certainly never spent a rupee on making pleasant. A ₹449 hanging bottle is noticed on the first morning and every morning after, which is more than most gifts three times the price manage. If he does not drive, look at what he wears - and if he has worn sandalwood or oud his whole life, an attar is not a novelty to him, it is the format he grew up with.
One honest caution about the first-salary gift, because we see it often and it is lovely. The instinct is to spend the whole feeling in one purchase, and to buy the most expensive thing in the range to make the point. The point does not need an expensive object to be made. Most fathers I hear about kept the small thing and mentioned the amount for years. Spend it on accuracy - the right scent, the right format, the right place - and put whatever is left back in your own account, which is a thing he would approve of more than the gift.

Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent and does not remove, neutralise or purify odour, and no SOSA product makes any health, antibacterial, air-purifying or wellbeing claim. No claim is made about how any recipient will feel about a gift, and nothing here is a claim about mood, stress, calm or sleep: a fragrance is a scent, not a treatment, and where a product name contains a word such as Calm that is a name and not an effect. Recommendations by profession, age or routine describe where a person spends their day and nothing more; they are not claims about anybody's health, and no product here is suitable for use in a clinical setting on that basis. No delivery date, dispatch time, order cut-off, discount or minimum order quantity is stated anywhere on this page; corporate and bulk enquiries are answered on WhatsApp. SOSA blends are SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations and SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand; the SOSA perfumes are SOSA's own compositions and are not the designer fragrances they are described as being inspired by.
