A machine can only go where there is a socket, so the socket position is effectively the scenting decision. The reason I like being called at drawing stage is unglamorous: a power point costs nothing before plaster and is a genuine nuisance afterwards, and a finished Nagpur interior with a white box on a console and a cable down the wall has undone a surprising amount of careful work. Two discreet points per scented volume, concealed in joinery, and the whole thing disappears.
The mistake I see most in large homes here is treating a house as one space. A three-storey home with separate bedroom wings is several volumes that barely exchange air, so one machine at maximum output produces a strong hall and nothing upstairs. Size by volume, count the open landings, and use reeds in the bedroom wings where nothing needs a socket at all.
