"How much should I spend?" is a question nobody in this industry answers with a number, and that is a failure of nerve rather than a genuine difficulty. So here are four budgets, four named kits, and four totals written out as arithmetic on verified prices — ₹2,347, ₹6,545, ₹8,444 and ₹18,544. Each kit is a shopping list you could place as a single order this afternoon. Each one also has a column saying what it will not do, which is the column I would read first if I were you.
Quick answers — read this first
Tier one · The Two-Point Start, ₹2,347. Fresh & Grounded duo 2 × 50ml ₹1,548 + Garden Bloom 50ml ₹799. ₹1,548 + ₹799 = ₹2,347.

Tier two · The Long-Run Reed Kit, ₹6,545. Five 130ml bottles: ₹1,349 + ₹1,349 + ₹1,299 + ₹1,299 + ₹1,249 = ₹6,545.

Tier three · The Hybrid Kit, ₹8,444. Tier two plus a Sukoon: ₹6,545 + ₹1,899 = ₹8,444.

Tier four · The Vaayu-Led Setup, ₹18,544. Tier two plus a Vaayu: ₹6,545 + ₹11,999 = ₹18,544. A leaner three-reed version is ₹11,999 + ₹3,847 = ₹15,846. The machine ships with 400ml and no separate refill oil is sold today.
The short answer
Short answer: most large Indian homes are well served somewhere between ₹6,545 and ₹8,444, which buys a 130ml reed diffuser in every room whose door closes and, in the hybrid, one machine for the connected living-dining. Below that you get a good start and unscented gaps. Above that you are buying reach you can only use if the connected volume genuinely warrants it.
The running cost is the part budgets miss: a 130ml position rebought as bottles is 52 ÷ 16 = 3.25 bottles a year, about ₹4,222 at ₹1,299 each. On oil-only refills it is ₹3,499 ÷ 16 months × 12 = ₹2,624. Five positions on refills is ₹13,120 a year — arithmetic, and worth budgeting for before you buy anything.
Shop: reed diffusers 50ml ₹749–₹849 (6–8 weeks) and 130ml ₹1,249–₹1,349 (14–18 weeks); duo sets ₹1,498–₹1,598 for 2 × 50ml and ₹2,498–₹2,598 for 2 × 130ml; oil-only refills 300ml ₹2,399 · 500ml ₹3,499. Boond ₹899 · Sukoon ₹1,899 · Vaayu ₹11,999. Free shipping above ₹499.
Straight answer
What is a sensible budget for fragrancing a large home?
1. Tier one — The Two-Point Start, ₹2,347. The Fresh & Grounded duo (Morning Freshness + Mountain Breeze, 2 × 50ml) at ₹1,548 for the two ends of an open living-dining, plus Garden Bloom 50ml at ₹799 for the entrance. ₹1,548 + ₹799 = ₹2,347. The absolute floor is the duo alone at ₹1,548.

2. Tier two — The Long-Run Reed Kit, ₹6,545. Five 130ml bottles, one per space whose door closes or whose corner is its own: Fresh Brew ₹1,349, Mountain Breeze ₹1,349, Garden Bloom ₹1,299, Evening Calm ₹1,299, Morning Freshness ₹1,249. ₹1,349 + ₹1,349 + ₹1,299 + ₹1,299 + ₹1,249 = ₹6,545.

3. Tier three — The Hybrid Kit, ₹8,444. Everything in tier two plus one Sukoon at ₹1,899 for the connected living-dining, giving you scent on demand in the one room where that matters. ₹6,545 + ₹1,899 = ₹8,444. This is where most large Indian homes should stop.

4. Tier four — The Vaayu-Led Setup, ₹18,544. Everything in tier two plus a Vaayu at ₹11,999 for a connected volume approaching 1000m³. ₹6,545 + ₹11,999 = ₹18,544. A leaner version with three reeds behind doors is ₹1,299 + ₹1,299 + ₹1,249 = ₹3,847, so ₹11,999 + ₹3,847 = ₹15,846.

5. Budget the second year as well as the first. On oil-only refills, one position costs ₹3,499 ÷ 16 months × 12 = ₹2,624 a year. Five positions is ₹13,120 a year. That figure belongs in the plan on day one, not in month fifteen.

6. The caveat attached to tier four. The Vaayu ships with four 100ml cold-air fragrances — 400ml, exactly one tank, specified at 90+ days per fill — and SOSA does not currently sell a separate Vaayu refill oil. The water-based Hotel Collection is a different product for ultrasonic machines and is never a Vaayu refill. Budget tier four knowing that, and ask SOSA where refill availability stands before you order.

Our reed fragrances are composed and handmade in small batches in Pune, the Vaayu is made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
TL;DR: ₹2,347 starts it, ₹6,545 finishes most large homes, ₹8,444 adds a machine where you want scent on demand, ₹18,544 is the cold-air setup for a genuinely large connected volume. Then budget about ₹2,624 per reed position per year on refills. All totals are arithmetic on verified prices.

The cheapest correct first purchase
SOSA Fresh & Grounded duo · 2 × 50ml ₹1,548
Two bottles rather than one, because output per bottle is fixed and the only way to raise the total in a room is another source. Morning Freshness at 9.0 on our internal scale and Mountain Breeze at 9.4, which meet on green eucalyptus — two scents sharing a note is what stops an open living-dining developing a seam down the middle. Put them at opposite ends rather than together. Both are alcohol-free, phthalate-free and paraben-free on a heat-stable coconut-derived CCT base, six fibre reeds each, 6–8 weeks per 50ml. The 2 × 130ml version at ₹2,548 runs 14–18 weeks instead, which is the version to buy if you would rather think about it three times a year than eight.

Part one — three things to settle before a budget can exist

A budget is a consequence of three measurements, and every one of them is free. People skip them and then ask a price question that has no answer, because "large home" describes a floor area while scenting is a problem of connected air, closed doors and moving windows. Fifteen minutes with a tape measure will move your budget by thousands of rupees in one direction or the other, and it is the only part of this page I would insist on.

1
MEASUREMENT ONE
The connected volume, in cubic metres
Multiply the floor area of the largest space that has no doors inside it by its ceiling height, then divide cubic feet by 35.3. A 700 sq ft living-dining at 10 ft is 7,000 cubic feet, about 198m³. The same 700 sq ft under an 18 ft void is 12,600 cubic feet, about 357m³ — the same plan drawing, nearly twice the air. Under roughly 300 sq ft of connected open space, two reed diffusers are the whole answer and tier one is your tier. Between 300 and 800, tier two or three. Approaching 1000m³, tier four becomes the only single-unit answer, because that is the Vaayu's stated ceiling and nothing below it in the range comes close.
The conversion: cubic feet ÷ 35.3 = cubic metres. Do it once, and the tier chooses itself.
2
MEASUREMENT TWO
The count of doors that end the day closed
SOSA Morning Freshness reed diffuser for bathroomsMorning Freshness₹749 · bathroomsThis is the number that sets the size of every kit above, because a closed door is a wall and the space behind it receives nothing from anywhere else. Count bedrooms, bathrooms, the study, the utility and the guest room, and that is how many small sources you need — no machine at any price substitutes for them. It is also the cheapest part of the budget: a 130ml bottle at ₹1,249–₹1,349 sits behind a door for 14 to 18 weeks with no electricity, nothing to switch on and nothing to spill. In tier two that count is five. In a bigger house it might be nine, and the kit simply grows by ₹1,299 a time.
The rule: small sources generously, large ones sparingly. Every kit on this page obeys it.
3
MEASUREMENT THREE
Whether you want scent constantly or on demand
This is the one that decides whether you pay for a machine at all, and it is not a question about size. A reed diffuser is constant, passive and deliberately low — no fan, no heat, no switch. It cannot be turned up before people arrive and it cannot be turned off during dinner. If what you want is a room that changes when you want it to, that capability costs ₹1,899 at the Sukoon and ₹11,999 at the Vaayu, and no quantity of bottles buys it. If you are happy with a constant low background — which is what most homes actually want most of the time — tier two is complete as it stands and the machine money stays in your pocket.

Part two — the four tiers, itemised and totalled

Four kits, each a single order, each with its arithmetic on the page. Read the last column before the price column.

Four budgets, four named kits
From ₹2,347 to ₹18,544, with what each will not do
Tier The named kit, itemised Total, as arithmetic What it covers What it will not do
Two · The Long-Run Reed Kit ★ 5 × 130ml: Brew ₹1,349 · Mountain ₹1,349 · Bloom ₹1,299 · Calm ₹1,299 · Morning ₹1,249 ₹1,349 + ₹1,349 + ₹1,299 + ₹1,299 + ₹1,249 = ₹6,545 Five rooms, 14–18 weeks each, no electricity anywhere Cannot be turned up, down or off; will not fill an open floor above ~300 sq ft
One · The Two-Point Start Fresh & Grounded duo 2 × 50ml ₹1,548 + Garden Bloom 50ml ₹799 ₹1,548 + ₹799 = ₹2,347 Two ends of a living-dining and the entrance, 6–8 weeks Leaves bedrooms and bathrooms unscented; rebuying 50ml is the dearest way to run
Three · The Hybrid Kit Tier two ₹6,545 + one Sukoon ₹1,899 ₹6,545 + ₹1,899 = ₹8,444 Five rooms constantly, plus 270–320 sq ft on demand with timers Adds humidity; still will not carry a 1,400 sq ft open floor
Four · The Vaayu-Led Setup Tier two ₹6,545 + one Vaayu ₹11,999 ₹6,545 + ₹11,999 = ₹18,544 Up to 1000m³ of connected volume, scheduled and key-locked, plus five closed rooms Ships with 400ml and no refill oil is sold today; does not climb stairs
Four (lean) · machine plus three doors Vaayu ₹11,999 + ₹1,299 + ₹1,299 + ₹1,249 = ₹3,847 of reeds ₹11,999 + ₹3,847 = ₹15,846 The same connected volume, three closed rooms Two doors still unscented — add ₹1,299 each
Not a tier: the big-tank shortcut Megh 6L ₹3,499 ₹3,499 About 100 hours of runtime from one fill ~215 sq ft — less than the ₹1,899 Sukoon. Runtime and humidity, never coverage
The honest caveat: tier four carries a condition the other three do not. SOSA does not currently sell a separate Vaayu refill oil — the four 100ml cold-air fragrances in the box are 400ml, exactly one full tank, specified at 90+ days per fill, and that is the whole supply available today. The water-based Hotel Collection (15ml ₹299 · 100ml ₹999 · 300ml ₹1,799) is a different product for ultrasonic machines, shares scent names with the cold-air oils, and must never be used in a Vaayu. If you need supply beyond that first fill, ask SOSA where things stand before you budget for tier four.

One product from each of the top three tiers
The SOSA principle
Budget the second year at the same time as the first.
Every tier on this page has a running cost attached, and in three of the four it is larger than people expect. A plan that only covers day one is not a budget; it is a shopping list.

Part three — the second budget, the one nobody writes down

Here is the arithmetic that changes people's tier choice more often than the purchase price does. A reed position rebought as fresh bottles is the most expensive way to run a house. A 50ml lasts six to eight weeks, so at a seven-week midpoint that is 52 ÷ 7 ≈ 7 bottles a year — about ₹5,593 at ₹799 each, for one position. A 130ml lasts 14 to 18 weeks, so 52 ÷ 16 = 3.25 bottles a year, roughly ₹4,222 at ₹1,299. And on oil-only refills, where you keep the glass vessel you already own, a 500ml at ₹3,499 runs a position for 14 to 18 months: ₹3,499 ÷ 16 × 12 = ₹2,624 a year. Three ways to run one bottle, and the gap between the dearest and the cheapest is more than twice.

Applied to the tiers: tier one's three 50ml positions rebought as bottles is roughly ₹16,779 a year, which is more than tier four costs to buy. Tier two's five positions on 500ml refills is ₹2,624 × 5 = ₹13,120 a year. Tier three adds the water-based Hotel Collection for the Sukoon, priced at ₹1,799 ÷ 300 = ₹6.00 per millilitre on the largest bottle against ₹19.93 on the 15ml — how many millilitres a household gets through is a matter of how hard you run it and how often, and I am not going to invent a figure for your usage. Tier four adds the Vaayu's electricity, which is knowable: 5W run continuously is 0.12 units a day and 43.8 units a year, roughly ₹350 at an illustrative ₹8 per unit, with state tariffs varying and no bill being quoted.

And tier four's fragrance line has no figure at all, which I want to state here rather than bury in a footnote. The machine arrives with 400ml — one full tank, specified at 90+ days — and SOSA does not currently sell a separate Vaayu refill oil. So when you budget tier four, budget it as ₹18,544 for the setup and one quarter of fragrance, and then a supply question to ask us directly. For a buyer scenting a defined stretch — a wedding season, three months of guests, a house occupied part of the year — that may be exactly right. For a buyer who wants a signature scent running continuously for two years, it is a genuine reason to wait until you have an answer. Both of those readers deserve to know before they spend, not after.

Tier one, rebought as 50ml bottles, costs more per year than tier four costs to buy.

Part four — what to add, and in what order

Once a tier is chosen, these are the additions worth making, ranked by how much difference each makes per rupee. The first two are free.

The add-on list
In the order I would spend, from free upwards
Add this Why Which tier it belongs to Price
1. Placement and the weekly flip ★ Passing air near a doorway, waist to chest height, off vents and out of sun; all six reeds flipped weekly Every tier, before any purchase Free
2. Two more reeds in a big room Reed count is the only true volume control — and it shortens the bottle roughly in proportion Tiers one and two Free, costs bottle life
3. A second bottle rather than a bigger one Output per bottle is fixed; two 50ml at opposite ends beat one 130ml in the middle Tier one → tier two From ₹749
4. Move from 50ml to 130ml ₹1,299 ÷ 130 = ₹9.99 per ml against ₹799 ÷ 50 = ₹15.98, and three bottle changes a year instead of seven Tier one → tier two ₹1,249–₹1,349
5. Oil-only refills ₹3,499 ÷ 500 = ₹7.00 per ml; the moment you run three or more positions Tiers two, three and four ₹2,399 · ₹3,499
6. A Sukoon for the room you host in Scent on demand, remote, steady/2H/4H timers, three 15ml fragrances in the box Tier two → tier three ₹1,899
7. A Boond for a snug or a landing ~150 sq ft, 300ml, about 6 hrs a fill, USB — the cheapest machine we make Anywhere with a socket and a small room ₹899
8. A Vaayu — only above ~2,000 sq ft connected Up to 1000m³ of dry, undiluted cold-air mist, scheduled and key-locked Tier four, with the refill question asked first ₹11,999
Do not add for reach: Megh 6L and ~100 hrs, but ~215 sq ft — less than the Sukoon. Runtime and humidity only A dry winter, not a big room ₹3,499
Honest notes for buyers: every total here is arithmetic on verified August 2026 prices, and the kits are illustrative shopping lists rather than fixed bundles — swap scents freely, since the prices differ by at most ₹100. Reed durations (50ml 6–8 weeks, 130ml 14–18 weeks) and refill durations (300ml 8–11 months, 500ml 14–18 months) are SOSA's own working guidance and vary with reed count, room volume, ventilation and season, so the per-year figures move with them. Strength ratings are positions on SOSA's own internal scale at six reeds, not an industry standard and not a concentration. Replacement reeds are not sold separately — refresh them every few months. The three oils are not interchangeable: reed oil in reed bottles, the water-based Hotel Collection in ultrasonic machines, undiluted cold-air oil in a Vaayu. SOSA does not currently sell a separate Vaayu refill oil; the 400ml in the box is today's whole supply, and buyers who need continuity should confirm the position with SOSA before ordering. The Megh at ₹3,499 covers about 215 sq ft, less than the ₹1,899 Sukoon, and is a runtime and humidity machine. Vaayu electricity is computed from its stated 5W at an illustrative tariff; tariffs vary by state and no bill is quoted. Warranty, AMC, installation, spare parts and app platform are not verified — ask SOSA. Never diffuse over live cooking. Stand reed bottles on a tray, as the oil marks wood and stone, and keep everything away from children and pets. Nothing here is a health, wellness, mood or air-purification claim, and no claim is made that scenting affects ratings, reviews, bookings, occupancy or revenue.
SOSA reed diffuser oil refill 300ml and 500ml
The line that halves the second year
SOSA reed diffuser refill · oil only ₹2,399 / 300ml
Whichever tier you choose, this is where the running budget is won. Oil alone — you keep the glass vessels — at ₹2,399 ÷ 300 = ₹8.00 per millilitre, or ₹3,499 ÷ 500 = ₹7.00 on the larger size, against ₹15.98 per millilitre for a fresh 50ml bottle. A 300ml runs one position about 8 to 11 months; a 500ml runs it 14 to 18. Across tier two's five positions that is the difference between roughly ₹21,110 a year rebuying 130ml bottles and ₹13,120 a year on 500ml refills — arithmetic, and worth about ₹8,000. Remove the reeds, pour to the neck, return them, flip once so both ends are coated. Reeds are not sold separately, which is an honest gap; refresh them every few months.

A note from Sonal

I have avoided writing this page for two years, because publishing four totals invites the objection that every house is different. Every house is different. What every house shares is that the person buying has no idea whether the correct answer is two thousand rupees or twenty thousand, and leaving them to guess is not neutrality, it is unhelpfulness dressed up as caution. So the tiers are here, with their sums shown, and you can move them by a bottle in either direction.

If I had to guess where a reader of this page belongs, I would say tier two or three, and I would say it about four homes in five. Five 130ml bottles at ₹6,545, one behind every door that closes, plus a Sukoon at ₹1,899 in the room you actually host in — that is a very well-scented large house, and the money left over is considerable. Tier four earns its place when the connected volume genuinely approaches what it is built for, and not before.

The last thing, said here as it is said on every page in this cluster: we do not currently sell a separate refill oil for the Vaayu. The 400ml in the box is the supply that exists today. If your plan depends on running one scent continuously for years, ask us where we stand before you budget for tier four rather than afterwards. Everything we compose is handmade in small batches in Pune, the Vaayu is made in India, and a portion of every order funds a girl's classroom through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

How much should I budget to fragrance a large home?
Four honest answers: ₹2,347 for a two-point start, ₹6,545 for a 130ml bottle in five rooms, ₹8,444 for that plus a Sukoon where you want scent on demand, and ₹18,544 for a Vaayu-led setup on a connected volume approaching 1000m³. All four totals are arithmetic on verified prices. Most large Indian homes are best served in the middle two.
What is the cheapest kit that actually works?
The Fresh & Grounded duo at ₹1,548, placed at opposite ends of the open living-dining rather than side by side. Two sources beat one because output per bottle is fixed, and those two scents share a green eucalyptus note, so they meet without a seam. Add Garden Bloom at ₹799 for the entrance and you are at ₹2,347.
What is the yearly running cost after the first purchase?
On oil-only refills, ₹3,499 ÷ 16 months × 12 = ₹2,624 per reed position per year, so five positions is ₹13,120. Rebuying 130ml bottles instead is 52 ÷ 16 = 3.25 bottles a year, about ₹4,222 per position. Rebuying 50ml bottles is roughly seven a year, about ₹5,593. The Vaayu's electricity is about ₹350 a year at 5W run continuously on an illustrative tariff; its fragrance cost beyond the 400ml in the box cannot be quoted.
Is the ₹18,544 tier worth it for a normal large house?
Usually not. The Vaayu is specified up to 1000m³, about 2,000–3,000 sq ft, and if your connected volume is 200m³ you are buying five times the reach you can use. Below roughly 800 sq ft of connected space, tier three at ₹8,444 will make you happier for less than half the money. Tier four earns itself on genuinely large open floors — and only once you have asked SOSA about refill availability.
Should I put the budget into one big machine or several small sources?
Several small sources first, always, because a closed door is a wall and no machine reaches behind one. Every kit above spends most of its money on reed diffusers for exactly that reason. The machine question is separate and is really about the one connected space you host in: whether you want it constant, which reeds do, or on demand, which only a machine does.

SOSA does not currently sell a separate Vaayu refill oil; the 400ml supplied in the box is the fragrance available at the time of writing, and buyers who need long-term supply should confirm current refill availability with SOSA before purchasing. The cold-air oil supplied with the Vaayu is a different product from the water-based Hotel Collection sold for ultrasonic machines (15ml ₹299 · 100ml ₹999 · 300ml ₹1,799), which must not be used in a Vaayu despite sharing scent names. Other SOSA machines: Boond 300ml ₹899 (~150 sq ft) · Sukoon 500ml ₹1,899 (270–320 sq ft) · Megh 6L ₹3,499 (~215 sq ft — a runtime and humidity machine, not a coverage upgrade) · Aangan ₹25,999 (~8,000–10,000 sq ft) · Meenar ₹38,500 (12,000–18,000 sq ft) · Safar car diffuser ₹3,999. Reed diffusers 50ml ₹749–₹849 (6–8 weeks) · 130ml ₹1,249–₹1,349 (14–18 weeks) · duo sets ₹1,498–₹1,598 · oil-only refills 300ml ₹2,399 / 500ml ₹3,499. Runtime, consumption and coverage figures are manufacturer specifications and vary with intensity setting, run hours, ceiling height, ventilation and season; any per-month or per-day figure in this guide is arithmetic on those specifications, not a measurement. Electricity costs vary by state tariff. No claim is made that scenting affects ratings, reviews, bookings, occupancy, revenue, health, mood or air quality. Free shipping above ₹499.
