Why does a machine not cover bedrooms? Because it distributes a mist through the air the home is moving, and a bedroom with the door shut at night is outside that airflow.
Is a 5BHK big enough for a machine? Almost always. Coverage is up to 1,000 cubic metres, about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft, and most 5BHKs are inside that range.
A closed bedroom door is outside the machine's field
With five bedrooms the size gate is usually cleared without having to ask, and that changes what this page should be about. The SOSA Vaayu at eleven thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine rupees is rated for up to a thousand cubic metres, which the product states as about two thousand to three thousand square feet, and a genuine five bedroom apartment is almost always in that band or near the top of it. So the useful question is not whether a machine suits the home. It is which parts of the home a machine actually reaches, and there is a structural answer that almost nothing written about scenting machines mentions. A waterless cold-air nebuliser does not fill a space the way a candle does. It breaks oil into a dry nano-mist fine enough to be carried by the air that is already moving through the home - from the air conditioning, from a corridor, from an open-plan living space - and that air does the distribution. Which means the machine's field is wherever the home's air circulates, and a room with the door shut is, by definition, not part of that circulation. In most homes this is a minor point. In a five bedroom apartment it is the main design question, because bedrooms with doors that close at night are the entire reason somebody bought a 5BHK. So the honest recommendation here is a hybrid rather than a single product, and it is not an upsell - it is what the physics dictates. The machine belongs to the shared volume: the living room, the dining, the family lounge if there is one, the corridors and the entrance. That is where the air moves, where guests are, where the house is experienced as a whole, and where room products fail because an open or semi-open space of that size cannot be scented from a console table. The bedrooms belong to bottles. A reed diffuser works by evaporation into the still air of an enclosed room, which is precisely the condition inside a closed bedroom, and it needs no electricity, no schedule and nothing switched on at night. Morning Freshness is seven hundred and forty-nine rupees for fifty millilitres and one thousand two hundred and forty-nine for one hundred and thirty, Malabar lemon with peppermint and eucalyptus. Garden Bloom and Evening Calm are seven hundred and ninety-nine and one thousand two hundred and ninety-nine, British rose with night-blooming jasmine, and lavender with chamomile - and the lavender register is the one most people want in a bedroom. Mountain Breeze and Fresh Brew are eight hundred and forty-nine and one thousand three hundred and forty-nine. A Day and Night duo at one thousand four hundred and ninety-eight rupees covers two bedrooms, or a bedroom and a study, with different registers. There is a second reason the hybrid is right in a 5BHK, and it is about the people rather than the air. Five bedrooms usually means several adults with different preferences - parents, grown children, a guest room used by in-laws, sometimes staff. A single machine scenting everything imposes one decision on all of them. A machine in the shared space plus bottles in individual rooms lets the common areas be consistent, which is what makes a home feel deliberate, while each bedroom stays a matter of personal taste. That is a structurally better arrangement than either product alone, and it is the same logic hotels use: a strong consistent scent in circulation space and something neutral or different in the rooms. On the machine side, the details that matter in a large flat are worth passing on. It runs under thirty-eight decibels, which matters more in a flat than a house because flats are acoustically tighter. It is waterless, so there is no tank and no humidity added, which in a closed air-conditioned home in a humid city is the reason many people gave up on ultrasonic diffusers. It has a four hundred millilitre tank lasting weeks, is controlled from a Bluetooth app or its own buttons with one, four, eight and twenty-four hour run windows, day selection and adjustable intensity, weighs nine hundred grams, and lies flat on a shelf as well as mounting on a wall or an HVAC return - so no drilling is required. It ships with four one hundred millilitre hotel-inspired oils included, so it works the evening it is opened. Refills afterwards are the waterless nebuliser oils at one thousand and forty-nine rupees for a hundred grams or one thousand eight hundred and forty-nine for three hundred, and never the water-based Hotel Collection, which is a separate system for ultrasonic machines. Placement in a 5BHK follows the circulation rather than the furniture: in the path between the living space and the corridor, or near an air conditioning return, rather than tucked into a corner. Intensity should start low and rise: a large flat over-scented at maximum is the commonest mistake, and it is also what pushes scent into a common corridor when the front door opens. And the first weeks of a new flat should be open windows rather than fragrance, because paint, varnish, polish and new joinery produce temporary smells that need airing - and a five bedroom flat has a great deal of new joinery in it. Fragrance is a finishing touch, never a fix.
So a 5BHK is a hybrid: a machine for the shared space, a bottle in the bedroom
One field outside the doors, one bottle inside each.

Versailles
The Vaayu is the most expensive thing we make and we turn down more orders for it than for anything else in the range. Not because we do not want to sell it - because most homes do not need it. It covers up to a thousand cubic metres, roughly two to three thousand square feet, and that is a villa, a penthouse, a large open-plan flat or a house with a double-height room. An ordinary 2BHK is not that, and in an ordinary 2BHK a reed diffuser at seven hundred and forty-nine rupees does the job better than eleven thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine rupees of machine would. So the question we ask is never what somebody spent on their house. It is how many cubic metres of air are in it.
The second thing we say, and almost nobody expects it, is wait a few weeks. A brand-new home smells of paint, varnish, polish, cement and new wood, and those are not smells to cover - they need open windows and time, and they go on their own. Give the machine at the housewarming by all means, but tell them the scenting starts once the building has finished smelling of being built. It is the same rule we apply to a new car, for the same reason: adding fragrance to a smell that is fading anyway is how a good product gets blamed for a bad result.
Two honest limits. Reed diffusers do not fail in large homes, they simply do not reach - a diffuser on a console table scents the area around that console table, which is not a fault, it is physics, and several of them is a real alternative to one machine. And there are two machines above the Vaayu, the Angaan and the Meenar, which are HVAC units for showrooms and hotel floors rather than houses - so if a home is genuinely far beyond three thousand square feet, message us rather than assuming more money solves it.
