Honest notes before you spend anything. A reed diffuser is passive, and its scent is strongest at the bottle. There is a difference between a fragrance being good and a fragrance reaching you, and almost nobody is told what it is. When someone writes to me and says the reed diffuser smells wonderful up close but they cannot smell it from the bed, my first answer is always the same: nothing is wrong, and you did not buy the wrong thing. A reed diffuser is a passive object. It holds oil, the reeds draw it up, the room's warmth and air take it away at their own pace. It has no way of carrying scent to you, and it was never built to.
So the real question is not which fragrance is stronger. It is which job you want done. I think I want both. Which do I buy first?
Buy the evenness one first, because strength is the goal you can improve for free while you decide. Move your reed diffuser to the exact spot you sit or sleep, at roughly seated nose height and out of the fan's direct path, and you will have raised the strength reading at that point substantially without spending anything. Evenness has no free version - there is nothing you can rearrange that will make a passive bottle fill a room, because the mechanism to carry scent outward simply is not there. So spend on the gap that money is the only fix for. For one ordinary bedroom that is a Boond at Rs 899 with a Hotel Collection bottle at Rs 299, which is Rs 1,198 all in. Live with that for a month with the reed still doing its job at the bedside, and then decide honestly whether you still want the Safar at Rs 3,999 on top. Many people find they do not.
Is a stronger or more expensive fragrance oil an answer to either goal?
It is a partial answer to strength and no answer at all to evenness, and that distinction is worth real money. A more concentrated oil produces more fragrance per hour at the source, so the reading right beside the bottle goes up and the pocket gets a little denser. But nothing about a richer oil creates a force to carry scent across a room, so the far corner is receiving the same nothing it was receiving before. If your complaint is that the bedside is not strong enough, a richer oil is a reasonable thing to try. If your complaint is that the room is uneven, you would be buying an improvement to the one variable that was never the problem. The uncomfortable version of this sentence is the useful one: paying more for oil to fix distribution is solving the wrong variable, and we would rather tell you that than sell you the bottle.
Does the SOSA Safar cover a bedroom or not?
The Safar is an active, waterless, cordless diffuser with genuinely strong near-field presence, and there is no published square-foot or cubic-metre coverage rating for it - so we will not tell you it covers a bedroom, because we do not have a number and we will not make one up. My room is small. Does the distinction still matter?
Less than in a big one, and that is genuinely good news for you. In a small enclosed room - say 10 by 12 feet, which is 120 sq ft, so 1,200 cubic feet or about 34 cubic metres - there is not much distance for anything to fade across, so a device that is strong at its own position will often read as reasonably even too, simply because every point in the room is close to the source. The two goals separate as volume and connectivity grow. A 150 sq ft bedroom at about 42 cubic metres starts to show it, a 250 sq ft sitting room at about 71 cubic metres shows it clearly, and an open plan with no doors between living, dining and kitchen shows it completely. What if the honest answer is that I want neither?
Then keep your reed diffuser exactly as it is, and we mean that sincerely. A large number of people who ask this question discover, once they finish the sentence, that what they actually enjoy is a quiet lift of fragrance when they pass the console or reach across the bedside table, and that they never really wanted the room itself to announce anything.
