What a home can use: the volume, if it has a double-height or villa-scale connected space. The rest assumes a building of open floors.
The genuine exception: a home doing commercial work — a homestay, a villa let for weekends, a clinic or studio in the house. There, consistency on a schedule is the whole point.
2. What "commercial" actually buys. Unattended continuous duty, so it can run for months without anybody touching it. Scheduling and centralised control. Consistency across a large connected volume. Integration with HVAC. And fragrance economics at litre scale. Read that list against a two-bedroom flat and most of it has nowhere to land.
3. The one property that does transfer is volume. A double-height living room or a villa great room is genuinely a commercial-scale body of air, and no ultrasonic will hold it. That is where a Vaayu at ₹11,999 stops being extravagant and starts being the correct instrument.
4. The Aangan is a different proposition again. At ₹25,999 the Aangan is a ducted HVAC nebulising system for 8,000–10,000 sq ft. It needs central air handling to work through, and it scents everywhere the ducts reach — which means you lose the ability to have a different answer in each room.
5. And the honest exception: a home that is also a business. A villa let for weekends, a homestay, a home clinic or studio where clients arrive. There, the value of commercial equipment — the same impression, at the same strength, on a schedule, without anyone remembering to switch anything on — is exactly the value it has in a hotel.

What "commercial" is actually specifying
Walk into a good hotel lobby and the reason it smells consistent is not that the machine is powerful. It is that the machine has been running the same programme, at the same intensity, through the same air-handling system, every day for two years, with nobody making a daily decision about it. Commercial scenting sells consistency and indifference to attention, not intensity. The equipment is specified to run unattended for months, to be scheduled centrally, to hold a large open volume evenly, to tie into ducted air where that exists, and to be fed from fragrance bought by the litre so the cost per day is predictable. Every one of those requirements comes from the same fact: the building is large, open, occupied by strangers, and managed by people who have other jobs.
A home is the opposite of that building in almost every respect that matters here. It is discontinuous — a set of rooms with doors, so there is no single volume to hold evenly. It is occupied unevenly, by people who want different things at different hours: somebody working in one room, somebody sleeping in another, a kitchen producing its own competing smells at seven in the evening. And it is attended constantly, by people who are perfectly capable of pressing a button. Consistency, which is the whole product in a hotel, is worth surprisingly little in a house — what a home wants is granularity, the ability to answer each room differently, and that is precisely what a fleet of small machines gives you and a single scheduled system takes away. The exception is scale: if one part of your house is genuinely built like a lobby, then for that part the commercial answer is the right one.
Three homes where the answer is yes
SOSA Vaayu₹11,999This is the case that transfers cleanly. A double-height living room, a villa or bungalow great room, a farmhouse common area, or connected open-plan common areas above roughly 2,000 sq ft: these are commercial volumes sitting inside domestic buildings. Ultrasonic mist rises out of the occupied zone in a tall room before it has done anything useful, and adding more Sukoons does not accumulate into a solution because the problem is height and continuity rather than floor area. A Vaayu at ₹11,999, rated to 1,000 m³ and running neat oil, is the correct instrument. The bedrooms in that same house still take Sukoons — a villa bedroom is a closed room like any other.Feature by feature: can a home use it?
Five things a commercial specification buys, and an honest column on whether a home has any use for each. The domestic equivalent in the last column is usually cheaper and often better.
| Commercial feature | Why a hotel needs it | Does a home? | Domestic equivalent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Unattended continuous duty | Nobody is assigned to the machine | Rarely — someone is always home | A 2H timer on a Sukoon |
| Central scheduling | One decision covers a whole floor | Only if the house hosts guests | Switching on before people arrive |
| Consistency across a volume ★ | The lobby must smell identical everywhere | Yes, if you have one large connected space | There is not one — this is the real case for a Vaayu |
| HVAC integration | Ducted air is the distribution system | Only in a large ducted property | Aangan ₹25,999, and one scent everywhere |
| Fragrance at litre scale | Predictable cost per day across sites | No — a 300ml lasts a home months | 300ml ₹1,799, roughly ₹6 per ml |
| Granular room-by-room control | Not wanted — uniformity is the product | Yes, badly — this is what homes actually need | One Sukoon per air space, ₹1,899 each |
| Read the last row first. The thing a home most wants is the one thing commercial equipment is designed not to provide. That is not a defect in either — they are built for different buildings. | |||

Running commercial equipment domestically
If you are going to operate it by hand, you have bought the wrong machine. The value of commercial equipment is that it holds a standard without anyone thinking about it, and that value is realised through the schedule. So the first thing to do with a Vaayu in a house is to programme it properly: a burst before the space is used, nothing overnight, and a fixed pattern that does not depend on anybody remembering. If you find yourself opening the app every evening to decide what the living room should smell like tonight, that is a domestic instinct and it is telling you something — it is the instinct a fleet of Sukoons serves and a scheduled machine frustrates.
Understand what a ducted system does to the rest of the house. The Aangan distributes through central air handling, which is its great strength and its one inflexibility: the fragrance goes wherever the conditioned air goes. There is no version of it where the guest wing smells of one thing and the master bedroom of another, and no version where somebody who dislikes fragrance in their room can simply switch theirs off. Before committing ₹25,999 and an installation, walk the house and ask each person who sleeps in it whether they want their room included. It is a household decision rather than a purchase.
The hybrid is what almost every large home ends up with. A commercial machine holding the large connected common volume, and ordinary Sukoons on the water-based Hotel Collection in the bedrooms, where a closed door makes any other arrangement pointless. That means running two fragrance ranges, since neat oil and water-based fragrance never cross over, so treat the boundary deliberately: keep the big volume clean and structural, keep the bedrooms quieter, and let a shared woody or white-tea character run through both so moving between them reads as a change of scale rather than a change of subject.
What each route actually installs
The domestic route, the single-volume route and the whole-property route, with what each one actually installs. The first row is what the large majority of homes should buy.
| Route | What you install | Covers | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Domestic ★ | One Sukoon per air space, ₹1,899 each, 3 scents in each box | 270–320 sq ft per room | ₹1,899 each |
| A whole 3BHK | Three Sukoons + a 300ml bottle ₹1,799 | Living zone and two bedrooms | ₹7,496 |
| One large volume | Vaayu ₹11,999 — waterless, app, timer | Up to 1,000 m³ connected | ₹11,999 |
| The villa hybrid | Vaayu ₹11,999 + three Sukoons ₹5,697 | Great room plus three bedrooms | ₹17,696 |
| Whole ducted property | Aangan ₹25,999 — HVAC nebulising | 8,000–10,000 sq ft through the ducts | ₹25,999 |

I sell commercial scenting systems and I install them in hotels and retail, so I know exactly what they are good at. They are good at not being thought about. That is the product. A lobby smells the same on a Tuesday morning in March as it did in November because a machine has been running the same programme through the same ducts and nobody has had to care.
Homes do not want that, and it took me a while to say so out loud in a shop that sells both. What a home wants is to be answered room by room — something quiet in a bedroom, something brighter where guests sit, nothing at all in the room where somebody is studying. A fleet of small machines does that. A single scheduled system flattens it, which in a hotel is the point and in a house is a loss.
So the three yeses are narrow and I would rather state them narrowly: a genuinely large connected volume, a ducted property where you accept one fragrance throughout, or a home that receives paying guests. If none of those describes your house, buy Sukoons for the rooms people are actually in and spend the difference on a 300ml bottle. A portion of every order funds a girl's classroom through Nanhi Kali.
