Why two: a 1BHK is two enclosed air masses. One machine covers 270–320 sq ft, which is one of your rooms, not both.
If it has to be one: put it in the living room and use the 2H timer with the bedroom door open before bed.
2. The coverage number is the reason, not the sales pitch. A Sukoon covers 270–320 sq ft. Your living/dining is roughly 180–250 sq ft and your bedroom 110–140 sq ft. Either one is comfortably inside a single machine's range — but 270–320 sq ft does not become 500–650 sq ft because you would like it to, and it certainly does not travel through a shut bedroom door.
3. Six fragrances arrive with the pair. Every Sukoon ships with three 15ml Hotel Collection scents of your choice, so two machines land with six bottles between them. That is the part that changes the maths: ₹3,798 buys two machines and a fragrance wardrobe, not two machines and an empty tank.
4. One machine carried between rooms does work. I am not going to pretend otherwise. It is also a chore you will perform roughly seven hundred times a year, and the flat is only ever scented where you last put it down.
5. Do not buy a Vaayu for a 1BHK. It is a waterless nebuliser rated for up to 1000m³ — several times your entire flat, at ₹11,999. It is the right machine for a large connected home and the wrong one here.
A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Why the door in the middle decides everything
Everything about scenting a 1BHK follows from one structural fact: it is the first home you are likely to live in where two rooms can be closed off from each other. A studio had none of these. A 2BHK has three. The 1BHK is the crossover point, which is exactly why it is the home people get wrong most often — they buy studio arithmetic for a home that no longer obeys it.
The six setups, compared
These are the six configurations people actually buy for a 1BHK, with what each one costs and what it honestly delivers. Two of them are wrong, one is a compromise, one is the answer, and one is the answer plus the bathroom.
| Setup | Cost | What it actually covers | Honest verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| One Sukoon, living room only | ₹1,899 | Living/dining, 180–250 sq ft | A good living room and a silent bedroom |
| One Sukoon, carried between rooms | ₹1,899 | Whichever room you last put it in | Works. You will get tired of it by month three |
| Two Sukoons ★ | ₹3,798 | Both enclosed rooms, permanently, with six 15ml scents | The setup this guide recommends |
| Two Sukoons + a Boond | ₹4,697 | Both rooms plus the bathroom | The complete version, if the bathroom bothers you |
| One Megh 6-litre | ₹3,499 | One room, for far longer between fills | A bigger tank does not open a closed door |
| Vaayu waterless | ₹11,999 | Up to 1000m³ — several times your flat | Overkill for a 1BHK. Buy it when you move |

Choosing two scents rather than one
The best part of owning two machines has nothing to do with coverage. It is that a 1BHK becomes the first home where you can put a different fragrance behind each door, and that contrast is what makes small flats feel considered rather than merely nice. A hotel does not run one scent through the lobby, the corridor and the suite. It runs a sequence, and the sequence is most of why the place reads as expensive. You now have exactly enough rooms to do the same thing at ₹3,798.
For the living/dining, choose something clean with a little lift, because this is the room the front door opens into and the room that sits nearest the kitchen. The Ritz-Carlton-inspired (white tea, bergamot, cedar) is the safest first pick; the Westin-inspired (white tea, aloe, cedar) is drier still and the better choice if your kitchen has no door of its own. The 1 Hotels-inspired (cedarwood, vetiver, green leaves) works if you would rather the flat did not announce itself as hotel-like at all.
For the bedroom, go warmer and quieter — the St. Regis-inspired (amber, violet, woods) is the one I would put there, because a small enclosed room at night is the only place in an Indian flat where a rich scent is genuinely comfortable rather than tiring. Run it on low with the 2H timer so it works while you fall asleep and stops on its own. Six 15ml bottles arrive with your two machines, so all of this is decided before you spend anything further; the only follow-up worth making early is a 300ml 300ml refill at ₹1,799 for whichever scent turns out to be your everyday one.
The SOSA 1BHK edit
Everything a 1BHK needs, in the order it earns its place. The first two lines are the setup; everything below them is refinement, and the last line is there so you know what not to buy.
| Buy | What it does | When it earns its place | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Two Sukoons ★ | One per enclosed room; 270–320 sq ft each; six 15ml scents between them | Immediately — this is the setup | ₹3,798 |
| 2. 300ml refill | Months of your everyday scent across both rooms, at about ₹6 per ml | Once you know which of the six you keep choosing | ₹1,799 |
| 3. Hotel Collection 15ml | A seventh mood, or a seasonal swap for one room | When one room starts feeling like the other | ₹299 each |
| 4. Boond 300ml | The bathroom — the third door in a 1BHK | If the bathroom still smells like a bathroom | ₹899 |
| 5. Pack of 7 × 15ml | All seven scents at once — the full wardrobe | If you would rather audition everything than choose | ₹1,799 |
| Not this: Vaayu | Waterless nebuliser, up to 1000m³, app and timer | Not in a 1BHK. This is a whole-home machine | ₹11,999 |

I resisted writing this one for a while, because "buy two" is exactly what a brand would say and I have spent most of this cluster telling studio owners to buy one. But the 1BHK is where the honest answer flips, and pretending otherwise would be the actual dishonesty.
The test I use has never changed: count the doors you close. In a studio you close one, and it is the bathroom. In a 1BHK you close two, and one of them has your bed behind it. A machine rated for 270–320 sq ft cannot service a room it is not in, and no setting on the front panel changes that. What I can promise is that the second Sukoon arrives with three more fragrances, so the second ₹1,899 buys more than a duplicate.
Everything is made and supported from Pune, and a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. You get a home that smells like somewhere you chose; a girl gets a classroom. That equation has always felt right to me.
