Decision one
Low, because convection is free and you should use it
Height is the placement mistake almost everybody makes, and it is easy to understand why: a machine looks tidier on a high shelf and people assume scent needs to be released from above to fall through a room. Air does the opposite. Warm air rises, and in a house the warmest air is near the floor-level activity and the sunlit surfaces, so a fine cold-air mist released low is carried upward and outward through the volume by convection at no cost to you. Released high, most of it never comes back down into the breathing zone and you end up scenting the ceiling and the top of the curtains. Honest notes before you buy anything. Coverage ratings assume connected air volume. There is a difference between a room that smells nice and a home that has a signature, and almost nobody is told what it is. A room that smells nice is an event: you light a candle, you spray something in the hallway before people arrive, it is lovely for forty minutes and then it is gone. Somewhere else in the house a bathroom gel is doing one thing, a kitchen spray another, and a bedroom reed a third. Four pleasant smells in four rooms is not a fragranced home. It is four rooms.

Can I hide the machine completely in a 2,500 sq ft villa?
Yes, within one honest constraint: it needs air moving around it. A console cabinet with an open back or an open plinth, a shelf set behind a slatted screen, a niche in the entrance joinery, the underside of a stair landing - all of these work and none of them shows the unit at all. What does not work is a sealed cupboard or a drawer, because the output has nowhere to go and you end up scenting the inside of the furniture rather than the room. My ground floor is L-shaped. Does that need a second machine?
Usually not, and the test is whether you can see from one limb into the other. If the two limbs meet in an open corner with no door and reasonable width, they behave as one connected volume and one well-sited unit near that junction serves both. If the second limb runs off behind a wall, through a narrow doorway or around a turn the air does not naturally take, it is functionally a separate volume, and the honest fix is a small dedicated answer rather than a second Rs 11,999 machine: a Megh at Rs 3,499 with the water-based Hotel Collection from Rs 299 if it is a room you use, or a reed from Rs 749 if it is a passage or a rarely used sitting area. There is no cliff, just proportional arithmetic: every extra foot of ceiling adds volume in direct proportion. At 10 ft, 2,500 sq ft is 25,000 cubic feet, about 708 cubic metres. At 12 ft it is 30,000 cubic feet, about 850 cubic metres. At 14 ft it is 35,000 cubic feet, about 991 cubic metres, which is effectively the whole rating for the entire floor plan. Those figures assume every door is open, which never happens, so in practice even high ceilings are manageable once you subtract the shut rooms. Where it genuinely bites is a double-height feature: a 400 sq ft living area at 20 ft is 8,000 cubic feet, about 227 cubic metres on its own. Count that part at its real height, place the unit low so convection works for you, and the number stays honest.
Should the machine be near the front door or in the living room?
Near the point where the two meet, which is usually a few steps inside the entrance where it opens into the living area. Directly at the front door is tempting because arrival is the moment you care about, but the front door is also where air is exchanged with outside every time it opens, so a unit sitting right there fights that exchange all day and the rest of the floor gets less. A few steps inside gives you a strong arrival moment and keeps the whole connected volume downstream.
