What does the Vaayu not do? It does not integrate with home automation platforms, does not reach through closed doors, does not fix smells caused by something else, and does not include fragrance, which is bought separately.
Who should not buy it? Anyone with a compartmented home where doors stay shut, anyone with a modest connected volume however expensive the property, and anyone whose actual problem is extraction, damp or a dried drain trap.
Five things it does and five it does not
A review written by the manufacturer is only useful if it is specific about limits, so this page is organised around them. The specification first, plainly. The SOSA Vaayu is a waterless cold-air scent machine priced at Rs 11,999. It has coverage of up to 1,000 square metres of connected air. It is controlled over Bluetooth by an app with timer control, which means cycles can be saved and repeated rather than being switched by hand. It has no water tank. Fragrance is purchased separately, and the Hotel Collection runs from Rs 299 for 15ml, Rs 999 for 100ml and Rs 1,799 for 300ml, used at three to six drops per tank with the tank rinsed when changing scents. Anything beyond that specification - dimensions, contents of the box, anything to do with servicing - is confirmed on WhatsApp before you buy rather than guessed at here. Now the things it does well, which are three. The absence of a water tank is the most consequential and the least glamorous. A tank is a recurring obligation: refilled every few days, rinsed between fragrances, emptied if the unit sits idle. It is exactly the sort of small job that gets done reliably for a month and then intermittently and then not at all, and when it stops, the fragrance routine stops with it. Waterless operation removes that failure entirely, which is why this is the right backbone for a household that hosts, travels or simply has busy weeks. The second is saved cycles. The most common way homes become over-scented is not a machine that is too strong, it is a setting that was raised for a particular evening and never lowered, because nobody who lives there can perceive it afterwards. A saved hosting profile that triggers and then returns to the daily setting removes that ratchet. The third is coverage of a genuinely large connected volume, which matters in exactly one situation: an open plan where living, dining, the passage and the stairwell are joined. In that house, one machine replaces six or eight separate sources, and that is real value. Now the limits, in order of how often they actually matter to buyers. First and most important: it does not reach through closed doors. It distributes fragrance through moving air, so what it serves is joined-up volume. A house that lives with bedrooms, studies and guest rooms shut is not one volume with a thousand square metres available; it is a connected core plus several sealed rooms. The wrong response is to turn it up, which spoils the core without doing anything for the closed rooms. The right response is a reed diffuser in each of those rooms, at Rs 749 to Rs 849, running three to four months. In a strongly compartmented home, eight or nine bottles will outperform this machine, and we would rather sell you the bottles than have you disappointed by the machine. Second: it does not integrate with a home automation platform. It runs on its own Bluetooth app and timer control, alongside whatever system runs the lights and the music rather than inside it. There is a reasonable argument that parallel is better for this particular layer, since it amounts to two cycles a day and a hosting trigger, and platforms get replaced every few years while this does not have to be migrated with them. But if the requirement is a single button that runs everything in the house, this is not that, and knowing so before purchase is better than discovering it after. Third: it does not fix anything. If a house smells of cooking, the answer is extraction used every time with the kitchen door shut, because cooking smell is aerosolised oil that settles into soft furnishings elsewhere. If a bathroom smells musty and is rarely used, the answer is a mug of water down each drain, because the trap has dried and the room is connected to the drainage system. If a cupboard smells, it needs drying and cleaning. Fragrance layered over any of these produces a two-part smell that anybody arriving reads instantly, and it is a worse outcome than doing nothing. Fourth: fragrance is not included, and that is deliberate rather than an omission, since the register is a choice that should be made once and kept for years. Fifth: it makes no difference to mood, focus, productivity, stress, sleep or memory, and we make no clinical, therapeutic or wellness claims of any kind. Finally, the three buyers who should not buy it: a compartmented home, a modest connected volume regardless of what the property cost, and a household whose requirement is a handful of evenings a year rather than a daily cycle.
The specification, plainly
The specification, plainly. The SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999: a waterless cold-air scent machine with no water tank, coverage up to 1,000 m² of connected air, and Bluetooth app and timer control so cycles are saved and repeat. Run it as two short cycles a day anchored to arrivals, with a separate hosting profile that triggers and reverts, at a level set on a day you had just come in from outside. Fragrance is bought separately: Hotel Collection at Rs 299 for 15ml, Rs 999 for 100ml and Rs 1,799 for 300ml - Quiet Luxury in white tea, bergamot and cedar, White Tea Serenity in white tea, aloe and cedar, Forest Suite in cedarwood, vetiver and green leaves, Tea Garden in jasmine, green tea and white tea, Warm Welcome in citrus, floral and sandalwood, Old-World Glamour in amber, violet and woods, Lobby Bar in citrus, pepper and amber - at three to six drops per tank, rinsing between scents. This is a water-based fragrance for ultrasonic diffusers, not reed diffuser oil; the two are not interchangeable and reed oil can damage a diffuser. These are SOSA's own interpretations and SOSA is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with any hotel brand. What it does not cover, which needs its own sources: closed bedrooms, studies, guest rooms and every bathroom, served by reed diffusers from Rs 749 through to Rs 849, three to four months per bottle, refills at Rs 2,399 for 300ml and Rs 3,499 for 500ml. Smaller connected spaces are better served by the SOSA Megh at Rs 3,499 with a 6L tank or the SOSA Sukoon at Rs 1,799. Anything not stated here - dimensions, contents, servicing - is confirmed on WhatsApp before purchase rather than guessed at. We make no clinical, therapeutic or wellness claims: nothing about mood, focus, productivity, stress, sleep or memory. Never scented: the kitchen at any time, the dining area, children's rooms, and covered terraces and balconies. Everything is alcohol-free and made to IFRA-compliant standards.

Versailles
Most customer gifts are bought to be handed over, not to be kept: the sweet box is finished by the family that evening, the keychain joins a drawer, the branded pen was never really a gift at all. Then the moment that cost your business lakhs to create - the new car, the new home, the big purchase - is remembered with nothing. A fragrance gift keeps that moment alive, because scent is the sense wired closest to memory: months later, your customer is still in the middle of the experience you gave them.
I trained at ISIPCA in Versailles and everything we make is built for Indian lives - car diffusers that survive a Mumbai summer, reed diffusers that hold through the monsoon, alcohol-free formulas safe to gift across every customer profile. If you run a dealership, a project, a hotel, a showroom or a team, message the bulk desk on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 - tell me the customer moment and the volumes, and I will help you design the programme myself. The business conversations are my favourite kind: one good gifting programme teaches me more about a category than a year of retail orders.
And a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali - so your customer gift quietly gives twice. That equation has always felt right to me.
Frequently asked questions
Facts verified August 2026: Olfactory memory research shows scent-linked memories are unusually durable and emotionally vivid, which is why a used-daily fragrance gift sustains brand association in a way consumable or novelty gifts do not; customer-experience research consistently finds that peak moments (delivery, possession, checkout) disproportionately shape how the whole purchase is remembered. Fragrance preference is personal: volume gifting programmes should default to gentle fresh, green and lightly floral registers, and to space formats (diffusers, reeds, car fragrance) rather than skin perfume. SOSA range: Hotel Collection ultrasonic fragrance from Rs 299; car perfumes from Rs 449 (spray and hanging, alcohol-free); attars Nawaab, Ameeri, Mastani and Adaa from Rs 379 (3ml/6ml/12ml, alcohol-free); Attar Trio from Rs 1,055; perfumes from Rs 499; reed diffusers from Rs 749; Boond Rs 799, Sukoon Rs 1,799 and Megh Rs 3,499 ultrasonic diffusers; SOSA Safar waterless car and travel diffuser Rs 3,999 (rechargeable, three hotel-inspired scents included); SOSA Vaayu waterless scent machine Rs 11,999 (~1000m³, app + timer).
