The living room is where your home's signature actually lives — and in a big or open-plan floor, the challenge is not strength but reach. Build it low, steady and even, so the far end smells the same as the sofa. The trick is sizing the system to the volume, not the room's name.

Most disappointment with a large living room comes from the same mistake: buying a lovely small diffuser and hoping it will stretch. It won't.
