Which SOSA scent? Quiet Luxury, a water-based Ritz-Carlton-inspired diffuser fragrance - my own interpretation of that style.
Is it the hotel's actual scent? No. It is an independent, inspired interpretation. SOSA is not affiliated with or endorsed by Ritz-Carlton; the name only describes the style.
The Ritz-Carlton scent style, honestly
Let me start with the honesty, because it matters most here. The exact fragrance a Ritz-Carlton diffuses is a proprietary formula, developed privately and kept private. You cannot buy the literal blend, and anyone claiming to sell you the real thing is not being straight with you. What you can capture is the style - the recognisable character of that clean, soft, white-tea lobby feeling - and that is what Quiet Luxury is.
The Ritz-Carlton style, as most people experience it, is built on white tea - clean, fresh, quietly refined - lifted with a little bergamot and grounded with soft cedar. It reads as expensive precisely because it is understated: no sweetness, no heaviness, just the impression of a beautifully aired, cared-for space. When I composed Quiet Luxury, I aimed at that character with a perfumer's ear, not at reverse-engineering a formula I have never seen.
I would always rather you knew exactly what you are buying: a trained perfumer's honest interpretation of a well-loved scent style, at a fair price - not a counterfeit or a false claim. That honesty is the whole point of how I named this collection.
SOSA is not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with Ritz-Carlton, and Ritz-Carlton is a trademark of its owner. I use the name only to describe the scent style, so you know the family of fragrance you are getting.
Using Quiet Luxury at home
Quiet Luxury is a water-based diffuser fragrance, so it goes into a SOSA cool-mist diffuser, not onto skin or into a reed diffuser. Here is how I place it.
| Room | Why it suits | Unit |
|---|---|---|
| Living room | Gracious, soft, welcoming - classic lobby calm | Megh (6L) |
| Entryway | Greets guests with a clean, expensive first impression | Sukoon (500ml) |
| Bedroom | Understated enough to rest with | Sukoon (500ml) |
A few drops in the water tank, filtered water, run low and steady - that is all it takes. For a large living room the 6-litre Megh has the reach; for a hallway or bedroom the Sukoon is the quieter, timer-equipped pick. Because the scent is understated, it fills a room without ever becoming a strong, sweet cloud, which is exactly the effect you want.
Myth: "An inspired scent is a poor imitation." A skilled interpretation composed by a trained perfumer can be lovely in its own right - and honest about what it is. It is not pretending to be the hotel's formula; it is a considered take on the style, which is all most people actually want.
And the one rule that protects your diffuser: use only SOSA's water-based Hotel Collection fragrance. Raw essential oils and carrier oils are too thick for the ultrasonic plate and can clog it. Quiet Luxury is built to mist cleanly - a few drops and the room does the rest.

Versailles
I trained as a perfumer at ISIPCA in Versailles, but half the questions we get are not about scent at all - they are about the machine. Indian rooms are bone-dry from AC and winter, and most gadget diffusers are too small, too loud, or quit by midnight. So we made three: Boond (300ml, desk), Sukoon (500ml, bedroom, with a remote and mood light) and Megh (6L, whole-room), each shipping with three of our fragrances.
They are cool-mist ultrasonic diffusers - an ultrasonic plate turns water into a fine, cool mist with no heating element, so there is no boiling water or burn risk, and each has an auto shut-off when the tank runs dry.
One thing I say on every listing and will say here: use only SOSA's water-based Hotel Collection fragrance. Raw essential oils, perfumes and carrier oils are thick or solvent-heavy and can clog the misting plate and damage the unit. A few drops of our water-based fragrance in the tank mists cleanly and scents the whole room.
