Which is better? The reed route if they have no spare attention at all, since it needs nothing after the first minute. The machine if they will enjoy controlling it and switching registers.
What must I not do? Give the machine alone. A device with nothing to run in it is a shopping instruction in good packaging.
The band where the full-size system fits complete
At this budget the decision stops being about which product and becomes about which kind of premium: hardware or duration. Both are legitimate, they cost roughly the same, and they suit genuinely different households, so it is worth understanding the trade before choosing. The hardware route is an ultrasonic diffuser, and two thousand five hundred rupees is the first band in this category where the full-size one fits as a complete gift. The Sukoon at one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine rupees is a five hundred millilitre machine with a timer, and it must be given with the water-based Hotel Collection concentrate at two hundred and ninety-nine rupees for fifteen millilitres - three to six drops per tank. Two thousand one hundred and ninety-eight rupees complete, which leaves three hundred rupees for a second concentrate if you want to give them two registers to choose between. The Boond at eight hundred and ninety-nine rupees is the three hundred millilitre USB version if you would rather spend more of the budget on concentrate: with the hundred millilitre Hotel Collection at nine hundred and ninety-nine rupees, that is one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight for a machine and months of refill. The seven registers are Quiet Luxury with white tea, bergamot and cedar; White Tea Serenity with white tea, aloe and cedar; Forest Suite with cedarwood, vetiver and green leaves; Old-World Glamour with amber, violet and woods; Tea Garden with jasmine, green tea and white tea; Warm Welcome with citrus, floral and sandalwood; and Lobby Bar with citrus, pepper and amber. These are SOSA's own interpretations and SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand. The rule that governs everything at this price: never give the machine alone. A device with nothing to run in it is a shopping instruction wrapped in good packaging, handed to two people whose daily list is already longer than the day, and it will sit in its box for months. At two thousand rupees that failure is expensive and nobody can mention it. And the three systems do not interchange - reed diffusers use their own alcohol-free reed oil drawn up rattan by capillary action, ultrasonic machines take the water-based concentrate, and the waterless nebuliser runs undiluted oil. Reed oil must never go into a machine. The duration route spends the same money on months rather than hardware, and for a household with no spare attention it is usually the better choice. A reed diffuser at seven hundred and forty-nine to eight hundred and forty-nine rupees - Morning Freshness seven hundred and forty-nine, Garden Bloom and Evening Calm seven hundred and ninety-nine, Mountain Breeze and Fresh Brew eight hundred and forty-nine - given with a three hundred millilitre refill at two thousand three hundred and ninety-nine rupees is a gift that keeps working long after every other present from that season has been used up, and it asks for exactly one minute of attention at the very start and nothing afterwards. That is the key difference between the two routes: a machine requires somebody to fill it, switch it on and top it up; a reed diffuser requires nothing at all. In a house where neither adult can be relied upon to remember anything for a few months, that distinction decides whether a gift gets used. Alternatively, a 130ml reed diffuser from one thousand two hundred and forty-nine rupees leaves a thousand rupees for something else entirely - the Attar Trio at one thousand and fifty-five rupees, which divides one each, or a hanging car perfume at four hundred and forty-nine with a candle at three hundred and seventy-nine. Reed diffusers belong at an entrance or in a living room, which are the rooms they will be receiving visitors in for months. Not a nursery: SOSA makes no products for babies or children, and nothing in this range is intended for a nursery, a cot, a pram or a baby's belongings. There is a third option at this budget that is worth mentioning because it addresses a gap nobody else has filled. The car. A startling share of this household's hours now happens in a vehicle - the paediatrician, the pharmacy at eleven at night, relatives collected from the station, the shopping, and the drive around the block at midnight with a baby who will not settle - and in most households the father does the great majority of that driving while having received nothing at all from anybody, because no shop stocks a shelf for fathers. Within two thousand five hundred rupees you can give a two-piece car combination at eight hundred and ninety-nine to nine hundred and forty-nine rupees plus a reed diffuser at seven hundred and forty-nine, covering the car and the living room for under one thousand seven hundred. The SOSA Safar waterless car diffuser at three thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine rupees is the premium car answer and sits outside this band. On the personal side, the Attar Trio at one thousand and fifty-five rupees remains the best structure for a couple, because three alcohol-free 12ml attars in one box means each of them takes one they chose rather than one you assigned. Adaa is bergamot, green cardamom, jasmine sambac and white musk; Ameeri is Taif rose with Indian sandalwood; Mastani is night jasmine and Damask rose; Nawaab is a white oud composition with Mysore sandalwood and Kashmir saffron rather than a dehn al oud distillate. Preferences that shifted during pregnancy do not always shift straight back, which is a further argument for handing over the choice. Nothing on this page is health, medical or safety advice, and no product is described as safe or unsafe around anybody in particular. Two rules that hold at this price and every price above it. Nothing that needs assembling, positioning or deciding about. And one considered object beats a hamper - at two thousand five hundred rupees a basket of small things reads as an amount of money, while a single complete thing reads as a decision.

Versailles
When somebody has a baby, the gifts arrive in a wave and almost every one of them is for the baby. Clothes the child outgrows in six weeks, toys for an age they have not reached, blankets in a cupboard that already has nine. It is all kind and it is all well meant. But two adults have just gone through something enormous, and by the end of the first month neither of them has received a single thing addressed to them.
That is the whole reason this section exists. We do not make anything for babies, and nothing we sell is meant for a nursery or for a child's things - we make fragrance for adults. What we can do is give somebody an answer when they say: everybody is buying for the baby, what do I give her, or him, or the two of them. Usually the answer is something small, consumable and completely undemanding, because a new parent has no free hands, no spare surface and no appetite for anything that needs setting up.
One honest thing. If the person you are buying for is pregnant, be careful with personal fragrance. A great many people find that what they want to be near changes during those months, and a bottle somebody cannot go near is a worse gift than nothing at all - so either choose something for their home or their car, or let them pick it themselves later. Message us on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 and tell us who the adult is and what you know about them, and we will tell you honestly if we think fragrance is the wrong call. A portion of every order supports girl-child education.
