Six hundred square feet with three cabins is a small job wearing the clothes of a large one. Once the treatment rooms come out of the arithmetic, the whole plan fits on a postcard and costs about a thousand rupees.
Quick answers — read this first
What setup makes sense for a 600 sq ft chiropractic clinic? One source in reception, a low dose, and a written zero for the cabins. Take the three treatment rooms out first and you are scenting roughly 240 sq ft of reception and corridor, about 68 cubic metres at a normal ceiling. One 130ml reed diffuser at ₹1,249 with four reeds standing in it covers that comfortably. Stand it about 1.5 metres inside the door, off the desk and out of the air conditioner's blast, and stop there.

Do I need a scent machine for a clinic this size? No, and I would rather say so on the page than after you have bought one. The SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 is rated to 1000 cubic metres and your scented air is around 68 of them. The one honest reason to go past a bottle here is wanting an off switch, and a SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899 buys that. It does add water to the room and needs a tank routine, which is a real cost in a humid month.

How do I keep the treatment rooms from picking it up? Distance, a shut door and a low starting level, in that order. A single 130ml bottle standing at the front of a 240 sq ft zone has very little left by the time it reaches a cabin doorway six or seven metres away, and a closed door removes most of what is left. A faint trace of reception in a corridor is normal and fine. What is not fine is a source anywhere behind that corridor, at any strength, for any reason.
The short answer
Short answer: One source in reception at a low dose, and a written zero for the three cabins. Excluding the treatment rooms leaves about 240 sq ft of scented air, roughly 68 cubic metres, which one 130ml reed covers with four reeds standing rather than six. Place it 1.5 metres inside the door, away from the air conditioning and off the desk. A ₹11,999 machine is rated to fifteen times this clinic's air.
The pick: one Morning Freshness 130ml reed at ₹1,249, or Mountain Breeze at ₹1,349 if your interior is dark and wooden.
Next step: send the room dimensions and where the air conditioning sits and we will place the bottle for you rather than guess - ask for a clinic scenting plan.

Straight answer
What setup makes sense for a 600 sq ft chiropractic clinic with repeat clients and unfragranced treatment rooms?
One reed diffuser in reception, four reeds standing in it rather than six, and the word zero written against every cabin door. That is the whole setup, and the reason it is that short is worth following before you spend anything. Start by taking the treatment rooms out of the calculation, because they are not rooms you are scenting - they are rooms you are deliberately leaving alone. A 600 sq ft practice with three cabins usually runs to something like 180 sq ft of reception and waiting, 60 sq ft of corridor, three cabins at around 90 sq ft each, and the remainder in a washroom, a store and a staff corner. The air you are paying to scent is therefore about 240 sq ft, or roughly 68 cubic metres at a normal ceiling. Hold that number, because it settles the hardware question on its own. The SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 is rated to 1000 cubic metres, which is about fifteen times the air you have. That is not harmless overkill. It is a machine you would have to run at its lowest intensity in short windows simply to avoid flooding the room, which is a peculiar thing to buy. Now the part you have framed as a tension. You want the reception to read premium and the cabins not to be heavily fragranced, and you have written those as two goals to be balanced. At this size they are the same goal, bought once. A small room saturates from a passive source, so the level is not what makes it read premium - the accord and the placement are. Choose something dry, clean and cool, stand it about 1.5 metres inside the door, out of the air conditioner's blast and off the desk where a client's face sits, and the room reads as looked after at a level nobody can name. The same restraint is what keeps the cabins clear, because there is very little left to drift six or seven metres and through a shut door. For the bottle, I would take Morning Freshness in the 130ml at ₹1,249 for a bright room, or Mountain Breeze at ₹1,349 if your interior runs dark and wooden. If you want a switch instead of a bottle, the SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899 gives you one and a tank to keep clean. Fragrance here is an ambience decision like lighting, seating or flooring, working alongside your ventilation and cleaning rather than instead of them. SOSA products are not medical devices, we make no claim that scenting affects bookings, retention or spend, and the clinician's judgement overrides any plan, this one included.
Cabins out first. About 240 sq ft is left, roughly 68 cubic metres. One 130ml reed at ₹1,249, four reeds, placed 1.5 metres inside the door. The ₹11,999 machine is the wrong purchase here.
For a clinic this size the purchase is one Morning Freshness 130ml at ₹1,249, which runs fourteen to eighteen weeks. The Sukoon at ₹1,899 is the only step up I would defend here, and only if you want an off switch.

The machines, and why yours is not one of them

I keep this section on every page in the cluster, and on this one it exists mainly so you can see the size gap for yourself rather than take my word for it. Both units are specified for buildings several times your clinic.

HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, ₹25,999, 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules, under 42dB. This is for a multi-floor centre. Nothing about a 600 sq ft practice points here, and I would talk you out of it.

SOSA Vaayu Waterless Diffuser

The three decisions this clinic actually has

There are only three, and two of them are free. Most of the money people spend at this size goes on a fourth decision that does not exist.

1
Decision one
Which rooms are on the list, written down
Your zero list is the three cabins, plus any room where a consultation and a treatment happen in the same space, which counts as a treatment room and stays completely unscented rather than lightly scented. Write it on the same sheet as your cleaning rota, because the list is not a preference you hold in your head - it is an instruction that has to survive a new receptionist, a helpful supplier sample and a slow Tuesday. A prone client with their face in a cradle is a few centimetres from vinyl they cannot turn away from for forty minutes, and no dose that reads as subtle at the desk is subtle in that position. This decision costs nothing and it is the one that makes the rest of the plan defensible.
Tip: Write the zero list before you choose a fragrance. Once a bottle is in the building, the list stops being a decision and becomes an argument.
SOSA Vaayu
Where a clinic is large enough for a machine, the Vaayu's key-lock is how a written zero survives contact with a busy front desk. At 600 sq ft, a sheet of paper does the same job.
See SOSA Vaayu →
2
Decision two
Where the single source stands
At 240 sq ft you have one source, so placement is doing all the work that a second unit would otherwise pretend to do. Four rules settle it. Keep it out of the air conditioner's direct blast, because a supply draught tears a gradient apart and pushes it at the ceiling. Put it roughly a metre off the floor, which is where a passive source has room to drift rather than pool. Keep it off the reception counter, where a standing client's face arrives within thirty centimetres of it. And set it about 1.5 metres inside the door, not in the doorway, because a doorway exchanges air with the corridor rather than holding it. Get those four right and the room behaves. Get them wrong and you will assume you need to spend more.
SOSA Vaayu
A wall-mounted Vaayu exists precisely to solve placement in a big room. In yours, a shelf a metre and a half inside the door solves it for the cost of the shelf.
See SOSA Vaayu →
3
Decision three
The dose, set for a client on their fortieth visit
You have said your clients come back repeatedly, which changes the number more than the square footage does. A weekly client meets your reception air something like forty times a year, and the correct level for that is well under what you would choose to impress somebody arriving once. In practice this means four reeds standing in the bottle rather than all six, flipped weekly with gloves, and left alone after that. It also means setting the ceiling for whoever sits at the desk for nine hours rather than for the client who is there for twenty minutes. If a member of staff says it is too much, it is too much, and that is the end of the discussion rather than the start of one. Consistency is the asset here; novelty is a liability.
Tip: Start with four reeds. Adding a fifth later takes ten seconds. Taking one out after a month of saturated upholstery does not undo the month.
SOSA Vaayu
Adjustable intensity and a lock are the machine version of this discipline. The Vaayu has both, and a 600 sq ft clinic gets the same result by leaving two reeds in the box.
See SOSA Vaayu →
The SOSA principle
A plan for a small clinic is mostly a list of rooms that get nothing, and that list is the free part. What you pay for is one bottle and where it stands.
I have never seen a 600 sq ft practice fail at this because it under-spent. They fail because the zero list was never written down and somebody put a sample in cabin two.
SOSA Vaayu
Shown so the scale is visible: 1000 cubic metres of rated coverage against roughly 68 in your patient-facing zone. That ratio is the whole argument against buying it.

Your 600 sq ft, room by room

Take this to your own floor plan and change my numbers for yours. The proportions matter more than the exact figures, and the instruction column does not change.

The SOSA plan
A 600 sq ft practice, split into its actual parts
The part of your 600 sq ft The instruction, and roughly the number
SOSA VaayuReception and waiting, about 180 sq ft
The only room with a fragrance job. One 130ml reed at ₹1,249, four reeds standing, 1.5 metres inside the door. Roughly 50 cubic metres of air. View →
Corridor to the cabins, about 60 sq ft
Whatever reaches it, and nothing added. It is the buffer that makes the reception bottle safe, and it does that work for free. Roughly 17 cubic metres.
Three treatment cabins, about 90 sq ft each
Zero, written down, permanently. Not a milder version and not a smaller bottle. The client is prone with their face in a cradle and cannot move away from what you put in that room.
Washroom, store and staff corner
Outside the plan entirely. These are cleaning and ventilation questions, and putting a fragrance source in a store cupboard is how a clinic ends up smelling of a store cupboard and lemon.

The written zero is argued in full in should chiropractic treatment rooms have ambient fragrance, the four placement rules have their own page in where to place a diffuser in a chiropractic reception, and the repeat-client dose is worked through in my clients visit every week. SOSA makes no health or therapeutic claim of any kind, and no claim that scenting affects how a practice performs commercially.

SOSA Vaayu
If you ever outgrow the bottle: the step is a machine with run windows and a lock, not a second bottle at the other end of the same small room.
Send the dimensions and the air conditioning position
If the honest answer for your 600 sq ft is one bottle and a shelf, that is what we will write back.
See the SOSA Vaayu Book a scenting plan
At six hundred square feet you are not balancing two rooms against each other. You are buying one bottle, standing it in the right place, and writing zero against three doors.

For your clinic the answer is a reed at ₹1,249-₹1,349, or a Sukoon at ₹1,899 if you specifically want an off switch. Fragrance is an ambience decision like lighting or seating, with no health, therapeutic or clinical claim of any kind. It works alongside your ventilation, cleaning and clinical protocol, never instead of them, and SOSA products are not medical devices. Adjustment and treatment rooms stay unscented, staff must be able to stop the source in seconds, and the clinician's judgement overrides any plan. Ask for a clinic scenting plan and we will size your rooms rather than your lease.

A note from Sonal

The number that surprises people about a 600 sq ft clinic is how little of it is patient-facing air. Three cabins and a corridor eat more than half the plan, and the store, the washroom and the staff corner take another slice. What is left is one room. When I ask an owner to walk their own floor and add up only the space a client sits still in, the figure that comes back is almost always under 300 sq ft, and the conversation changes shape immediately.

The second thing worth saying is that you have already made the hard decision. You wrote that you did not want the treatment rooms heavily fragranced, which means you have noticed the thing most owners have to be told - that a room where somebody lies prone with their face in a cradle is not a room to put a fragrance in. All I am doing is turning your instinct into a written zero, and then telling you the reception plan is one bottle.

So this page ends at about ₹1,249, which is a strange place to land on a page that also sells an ₹11,999 machine, and I would rather it landed there honestly. We make no health, therapeutic or clinical claim of any kind, and no claim that scenting affects a practice commercially. Fragrance is an ambience decision, like lighting or seating. Treatment rooms stay unscented, and the clinician's judgement overrides any plan. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

How much of a 600 sq ft clinic is actually being scented?
Usually around 240 sq ft, once three cabins, a corridor, a washroom, a store and a staff corner come out. At a normal ceiling that is roughly 68 cubic metres. Measure your own reception and waiting area and multiply by the ceiling height rather than working from the figure on the lease, which includes every room you are leaving alone.
Why a 130ml bottle rather than two 50ml ones?
Because reach comes from exposed reed surface area and duration comes from the reservoir. Two 50ml bottles in one small room give you two competing gradients and twice the fiddling; one 130ml gives you fourteen to eighteen weeks from a single source in the right place. Buy the bigger bottle for the calendar, not for the metres.
My clients come every week. Does that change the dose in a room this size?
Yes, downward. A weekly client meets your reception air around forty times a year, and a level chosen to impress a first-time visitor wears badly at that frequency. Four reeds rather than six, held steady, is the design brief. Consistency is what you are buying; novelty is what you are avoiding.
What should I write down so the treatment rooms stay unscented when I am not there?
One line per cabin on the same sheet as your cleaning rota: this room takes no fragrance source of any kind. Add the same line for any combined consultation-and-treatment room. A written zero survives a new staff member and a free sample from a supplier; an understanding in your head does not.
When would a clinic this size ever justify the ₹11,999 machine?
If you took a second floor, or knocked the cabins through into an open patient-facing space of 1,500 sq ft or more, or needed one source to carry along a long corridor a bottle cannot reach. Short of a change of that scale, the machine is rated for about fifteen times your air and there is nothing for it to do.
SOSA Angaan
For scale at the other end: the SOSA Angaan at ₹25,999 covers roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft. It is on this page purely so the ladder is visible from where you are standing.

Facts verified 24 August 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and onboard button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, operation under 38dB, DC 12V/1A at 5W (roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten-hour daily schedule), freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment. The SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) is an HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules and operation under 42dB, and also runs standalone wall-mounted or lay-flat. Ambient scent is an interior and hospitality decision: it works alongside proper ventilation, cleaning and clinical protocol and is not a substitute for any of them, it is not a medical device, and SOSA makes no health, therapeutic or treatment claim of any kind and no claim that fragrance affects bookings, retention or spend. CE, RoHS and SGS are electrical and compliance marks, not medical approval.
