I get asked for the best women's fragrance several times a week, and I always want to answer it kindly, because it is a completely reasonable thing to search for. The shops are organised that way, so of course you would. But I trained as a perfumer, and I can tell you plainly that when we build a fragrance we are not thinking about who will wear it - we are thinking about weight, contrast and how long a note lasts on a reed. The gender arrives later, in the marketing, and it changes with the decade. Lavender was a men's barbershop note for a very long time. Rose was worn by emperors.
So here is the version I would give a friend. Decide what you want the room to feel like, then pick the family.
