Why avoid sweet fragrances in an EV showroom? Because there is no automotive background to absorb them. A sweet or gourmand register in a space with nothing competing is perceived at full value, reads as heavy-handed, and sits awkwardly against a product positioned on cleanliness.
Should the whole site use one fragrance? Yes. A customer crossing the floor, a consultation room and a washroom in ten minutes will perceive a change of register as inconsistency rather than as zoning.
Three registers, and the one property they share
Fragrance selection for an electric showroom looks like a smaller decision than it is, because the shortlist is short and the differences between the options are subtle. The subtlety is the point. In a conventional dealership, a fragrance is partly chosen for how it behaves against a background, and that background provides a certain amount of cover for an imperfect choice. In an electric showroom there is no cover at all: whatever is chosen is the only thing in the air, perceived at close to full value, by people who may be in the building for an hour. The selection rule that follows is unusual and worth stating plainly. Choose something that reads as clean air rather than as perfume. That is not the same as choosing something weak; a well-constructed clean register holds a large room perfectly well. It means choosing a composition whose effect is that a person notices the absence of anything wrong rather than the presence of something added. Three registers do this reliably. White Tea Serenity, built on white tea with aloe and cedar, is the plainest of the three and the default recommendation for most electric floors. Its virtue is that it does very little: it occupies a room without proposing anything, which is exactly what is wanted where visitors stay for thirty to ninety minutes and adapt within the first fifteen. Where a brand wants the space to be noticed slightly more at the point of arrival, Quiet Luxury is the answer, with white tea and bergamot giving a fresher opening and cedar providing enough structure to hold through a long trading day rather than fading by mid-afternoon. Forest Suite, in cedarwood, vetiver and green leaves, is the driest and the most structural of the three, and it comes into its own in the kind of space electric brands often occupy: large, glazed, high-ceilinged and hard-surfaced, where a lighter composition can read as thin because there is a great deal of air and very little soft material to hold anything. The property all three share is low contrast, and this is the technical reason they suit the category rather than a matter of taste. A high-contrast composition - sweet against dry, fruit against wood, a sharp floral - is engaging on first encounter and demanding on the twentieth minute. Electric retail is built around long visits, so anything demanding is working against the format. The same reasoning rules out sweet, gourmand and fruity registers entirely here, with the added consideration that they sit awkwardly against a product whose proposition is the absence of anything applied. Three application points close this out. Dose at three drops per tank rather than six, because there is no competing background to absorb it, and set that level using somebody who has walked in from outside rather than anybody who works in the building. Use one register across the entire site - showroom floor, consultation rooms, delivery bay, lounge - because a customer crossing three of those in ten minutes perceives a change as inconsistency rather than as considered zoning; washrooms are the one place a related but separate arrangement is fine, and reeds suit them because their output is fixed. And rinse the tank when changing fragrance so the previous one does not carry over. Charging bays, battery storage and high-voltage technical areas receive nothing.
The SOSA EV fragrance list
The SOSA EV fragrance list. Recommended, all Hotel Collection at Rs 299 for 15ml, Rs 999 for 100ml and Rs 1,799 for 300ml: White Tea Serenity in white tea, aloe and cedar - the plainest and the default for most electric floors; Quiet Luxury in white tea, bergamot and cedar - fresher at arrival, with cedar holding through a long day; Forest Suite in cedarwood, vetiver and green leaves - driest and most structural, for large glazed hard-surfaced halls. Three drops per tank rather than six, one register across the whole site, rinsing the tank between fragrances. Not recommended: sweet, gourmand, fruity and heavy floral registers, which are perceived at full value in an empty background and sit awkwardly against a product sold on the absence of anything applied. Equipment: the SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999, waterless with timer control and coverage up to 1,000 m²; the SOSA Megh at Rs 3,499 with a 6L tank; the SOSA Boond at Rs 799 for a consultation room. Versailles
Most customer gifts are bought to be handed over, not to be kept: the sweet box is finished by the family that evening, the keychain joins a drawer, the branded pen was never really a gift at all. Then the moment that cost your business lakhs to create - the new car, the new home, the big purchase - is remembered with nothing. A fragrance gift keeps that moment alive, because scent is the sense wired closest to memory: months later, your customer is still in the middle of the experience you gave them.
I trained at ISIPCA in Versailles and everything we make is built for Indian lives - car diffusers that survive a Mumbai summer, reed diffusers that hold through the monsoon, alcohol-free formulas safe to gift across every customer profile. If you run a dealership, a project, a hotel, a showroom or a team, message the bulk desk on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 - tell me the customer moment and the volumes, and I will help you design the programme myself. The business conversations are my favourite kind: one good gifting programme teaches me more about a category than a year of retail orders.
And a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali - so your customer gift quietly gives twice. That equation has always felt right to me.
Frequently asked questions
Facts verified August 2026: Olfactory memory research shows scent-linked memories are unusually durable and emotionally vivid, which is why a used-daily fragrance gift sustains brand association in a way consumable or novelty gifts do not; customer-experience research consistently finds that peak moments (delivery, possession, checkout) disproportionately shape how the whole purchase is remembered. Fragrance preference is personal: volume gifting programmes should default to gentle fresh, green and lightly floral registers, and to space formats (diffusers, reeds, car fragrance) rather than skin perfume. SOSA range: Hotel Collection ultrasonic fragrance from Rs 299; car perfumes from Rs 449 (spray and hanging, alcohol-free); attars Nawaab, Ameeri, Mastani and Adaa from Rs 379 (3ml/6ml/12ml, alcohol-free); Attar Trio from Rs 1,055; perfumes from Rs 499; reed diffusers from Rs 749; Boond Rs 799, Sukoon Rs 1,799 and Megh Rs 3,499 ultrasonic diffusers; SOSA Safar waterless car and travel diffuser Rs 3,999 (rechargeable, three hotel-inspired scents included); SOSA Vaayu waterless scent machine Rs 11,999 (~1000m³, app + timer).
