One rule explains the whole BHK range, from a studio to a six-bedroom villa, and everything else in this cluster follows from it.
Quick answers — read this first
What is the rule for scenting any BHK? A bedroom adds a bottle and never a machine, because bedrooms are sealed rooms rather than connected air. The machine is decided by the connected living space alone.

How do the numbers run across the range? Machines stay at zero, one or two from 1BHK to 6BHK. Bottles climb from three or four at 1BHK to twelve or sixteen at 6BHK.

What decides the machine? The connected living space, tested by counting closed doors on the ground floor at an ordinary hour. Zero qualifies the largest machine; two or more disqualifies it at any BHK.
The short answer
Short answer: A bedroom adds a bottle, never a machine. Machines stay at zero to two; bottles climb from four to sixteen.
The pick: the SOSA Safar (₹3,999) as the flagship delivery gift; volume gifts from ₹299; reed diffusers from ₹749; the Vaayu (₹11,999) for your own premises.
Planning volumes? WhatsApp +91 96192 18531 - tell us the customer moment, per-unit band and quantity and we will quote and build the programme.
Customer gifting that compounds - the SOSA method at a glanceStep 1 - gift the moment: delivery day, possession, checkout, milestone purchaseStep 2 - set the per-unit band: ₹299 to ₹3,999 by customer valueStep 3 - brand the gesture: your card, your story, our fragranceStep 4 - pilot small, then scale to 50, 100, 500 unitsWhatsApp the bulk desk for volume pricing
A customer gift works when it survives the drive home - sweets vanish in a day and keychains join a drawer, but a fragrance is used daily in the customer's own car or living room, replaying your brand at every use. The method: gift the milestone moment, set the per-unit band by customer value, brand the gesture with your card, pilot and scale. This guide walks the exact play, with real SOSA options at every band.
Straight answer
What is the complete scenting guide for any BHK?
One rule explains the entire range: a bedroom adds a bottle, and never adds a machine. Because a bedroom is a sealed room rather than connected air, and a machine cannot cross a closed door at any price. Run it across the range. Machines: zero to one at 1BHK, 2BHK and 3BHK; one, or one plus one at 4BHK; one or two at 5BHK and 6BHK. Bottles: three or four, four or five, six or seven, eight to ten, ten to fourteen, twelve to sixteen. One column barely moves. The other climbs the whole way. The machine is decided by living space, never by BHK. In a flat that is the hall, however many bedrooms surround it - a Sukoon at ₹1,799, or often nothing. In a villa, run the closed-door walk: zero doors between living, dining, passage and stair qualifies the Vaayu at ₹11,999; two or more means compartmented and nothing qualifies, at 2BHK or 6BHK. Three standing rules across the range. Bedrooms take the lightest level from a source the occupant can move or cap. Children's rooms and the kitchen get nothing, ever. And the two best positions in any house - the entrance and the guest washroom - are bottles from ₹749, at every BHK. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.

One rule explains the entire BHK range

This is the whole BHK cluster on one page, and it rests on a single rule that makes every size predictable: a bedroom adds a bottle and never adds a machine. The reason is structural. A machine distributes fragrance through connected moving air and cannot cross a closed door at any price or setting. A bedroom is a closed door. So each additional bedroom is a new sealed volume that only a passive source can serve, and it does nothing to enlarge the connected space a machine works in. Run that rule across the range and the pattern is stark. Machines: zero to one at 1BHK, 2BHK and 3BHK, where the only candidate is the hall. One, or one plus one, at 4BHK, where a villa may add a genuinely occupied upper living area. One or two at 5BHK and 6BHK. That column barely moves from one bedroom to six. Bottles: three or four at 1BHK, four or five at 2BHK, six or seven at 3BHK, eight to ten at 4BHK, ten to fourteen at 5BHK, twelve to sixteen at 6BHK. That column climbs the entire way. If you remember nothing else from this cluster, remember which column moves. The machine is decided by living space and never by BHK. In a flat, that means the hall, however many bedrooms surround it - a large 4BHK apartment is architecturally still a hall with a passage and rooms off it, because the extra bedrooms were added alongside the living area rather than enlarging it. So a flat takes a Sukoon at Rs 1,799 if you want the level to change with time, a Megh at Rs 3,499 with its 6L tank for a substantial living-dining, and quite often nothing at all, which is a complete answer rather than a compromise. In a villa, run the closed-door walk: at an ordinary hour, changing nothing, count the closed doors between the living area, the dining area, the passage and the foot of the stairs. Zero qualifies the Vaayu at Rs 11,999, and what that money buys is one device instead of six or eight, waterless operation with nothing to fill or empty, and a saved schedule - not the coverage rating, most of which will never be used at any BHK. Two or more closed doors means the home is compartmented, and a compartmented home does not qualify at 2BHK or at 6BHK, because the physics is identical regardless of how many bedrooms sit behind those doors. A second machine has exactly one justification: a second living volume that people genuinely sit in, such as an upper family area. A bedroom wing does not count - it is a corridor with closed doors off it, and a machine there scents a passage nobody sits in while every room it was bought for stays sealed. A landing does not count either; one reed covers it. Then the standing rules that hold at every BHK. Bedrooms take the lightest level in the home, from a source the occupant can move, cap or take out of the room without asking anybody, because dwell time is long and everybody adapts within an hour, and because a room somebody cannot leave should never impose a register they did not choose. Children's rooms get nothing at all. The kitchen gets nothing at any time from anything, and extraction used every single time with the door shut is the actual answer, because cooking smell is aerosolised oil that travels and settles into soft furnishings elsewhere. The dining area gets nothing during a meal. Covered balconies, terraces and verandahs cannot hold fragrance at all. And the two highest-value positions in any house, at every BHK, are bottles rather than machines: the entrance, because everybody who lives in a home has adapted and perceives very little, making arrival the only moment anybody experiences it properly; and the guest washroom, because it is the one room where a visitor is alone, unhurried and forming a private view. Two additions at the top of the range. From 4BHK upward, name one person responsible for restocking and set one quarterly date on which every bottle is replaced and every machine topped up together, whether or not each is empty - otherwise a dozen scattered exhaustion dates turn the house into a patchwork within months, and adaptation means nobody living there ever notices. And from 5BHK upward, do the occupancy census before buying anything: count the bedrooms actually slept in on an ordinary weeknight, because the unused ones need a mug of water down every drain and hours of airing rather than fragrance. At 6BHK, where the household is usually several generations, shared spaces run at the lowest level anybody in the house would still choose, and private rooms stay autonomous.

Why this works
The rule, and the range
1 A bedroom adds a bottle. It never adds a machine 2 1BHK to 6BHK: machines stay at zero, one or two throughout 3 Bottles climb from three or four to twelve or sixteen 4 And the machine is decided by living space, never by BHK
The flagship delivery gift: the SOSA Safar at ₹3,999 - a rechargeable waterless car diffuser with three hotel-inspired scents in the box. Per-unit gifts from ₹299; volume pricing on WhatsApp.
01
One rule, whole range
A bedroom adds a bottle, never a machine
Because it is a sealed room rather than connected air. Machines stay at zero to two from 1BHK to 6BHK while bottles climb from three or four to twelve or sixteen.
Tip: Remember which column moves.
02
Living space decides the machine
Not the BHK, and not the square footage
A large 4BHK flat is still a hall with rooms off it. A villa qualifies only if the closed-door walk shows zero doors, and a compartmented home disqualifies at 2BHK and at 6BHK alike.
03
The rules that hold at every BHK
Bedrooms lightest, and two positions always on bottles
Lightest level from a movable source in bedrooms, nothing in children's rooms or the kitchen, and the entrance and guest washroom on bottles at every size, because no machine serves them.
Tip: From 4BHK up: one restocker, one quarterly date.
The SOSA principle
From one bedroom to six, the machine count barely moves. The bottle count never stops.
A bedroom is a door, and doors are the whole question.

The complete large-BHK kit

The complete large-BHK kit. The bottles, which are the majority at every size: three or four at 1BHK, four or five at 2BHK, six or seven at 3BHK, eight to ten at 4BHK, ten to fourteen at 5BHK, twelve to sixteen at 6BHK - one per bathroom, one per bedroom at the lightest level in the home from a source the occupant can move, cap or take out of the room without asking anybody, one in a study, and one just inside the entrance, which with the guest washroom is one of the two highest-value positions in any house and is never served by a machine. Reeds: Morning Freshness at Rs 749, Garden Bloom at Rs 799, Evening Calm at Rs 799, Fresh Brew at Rs 849, Mountain Breeze at Rs 849, three to four months per bottle, refills at Rs 2,399 for 300ml and Rs 3,499 for 500ml, or the SOSA Boond at Rs 799 at the door. The machine, decided by living space and never by BHK: in a flat, the SOSA Sukoon at Rs 1,799 for the hall if you want the level to change with time, the SOSA Megh at Rs 3,499 with a 6L tank for a substantial living-dining, and often nothing at all; in a villa, run the closed-door walk and let zero doors between living, dining, passage and stair qualify the SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999 - waterless with no tank, coverage up to 1,000 m², Bluetooth app and timer control - with two or more meaning compartmented and no machine qualifying at any BHK. A second machine only for a second living volume people genuinely sit in; never for a bedroom wing, which is a corridor of closed doors, or a landing, which one reed covers. Fragrance for machines: Hotel Collection at Rs 299 for 15ml, Rs 999 for 100ml and Rs 1,799 for 300ml - Quiet Luxury in white tea, bergamot and cedar, White Tea Serenity in white tea, aloe and cedar, Forest Suite in cedarwood, vetiver and green leaves - at three to six drops per tank, rinsing between scents. It is a water-based fragrance for ultrasonic diffusers, is not reed diffuser oil, and the two are not interchangeable; reed oil can damage a diffuser. These are SOSA's own interpretations and SOSA is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with any hotel brand. From 4BHK upward: one named person restocking on one quarterly date. From 5BHK upward: the occupancy census first, with unused rooms getting water down every drain and hours of airing rather than fragrance. At 6BHK: shared spaces at the lowest level anybody would still choose, private rooms autonomous. Never scented: children's rooms, the kitchen at any time, the dining area during a meal, staff quarters, and covered terraces, balconies and verandahs. Everything is alcohol-free and made to IFRA-compliant standards.

The SOSA business gifting edit

Whatever your business gifts, the logic is the same: gift the milestone moment, set the per-unit band by customer value, keep the register gentle and crowd-safe, and brand the gesture with your card rather than your logo on the product. Every SOSA fragrance is alcohol-free and made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali - so every customer gift quietly gives twice. Here is the full business range by per-unit band.

Honest notes for business gifters: customer taste varies, so volume programmes should run gentle, crowd-tested registers - fresh, clean and lightly floral scents are received well across every profile, and space formats (diffusers, reeds, car fragrance) avoid the personal-taste risk of skin perfume entirely. Listed prices are per-unit store prices; volume pricing, pilot batches, branded cards and custom hamper builds are quoted on WhatsApp - and signature-scent development for your brand is a consultation with our perfumer, not an off-the-shelf item, so timelines are discussed case by case. The Hotel Collection scents are SOSA's own interpretations inspired by the world's finest hotels; SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house, not affiliated with any hotel brand. Ultrasonic diffusers use the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance; reed diffusers use their own alcohol-free reed oil - the two are not interchangeable. All personal fragrances are alcohol-free and IFRA-compliant. WhatsApp bulk desk: +91 96192 18531. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

ISIPCA
Versailles
A note from Sonal

Most customer gifts are bought to be handed over, not to be kept: the sweet box is finished by the family that evening, the keychain joins a drawer, the branded pen was never really a gift at all. Then the moment that cost your business lakhs to create - the new car, the new home, the big purchase - is remembered with nothing. A fragrance gift keeps that moment alive, because scent is the sense wired closest to memory: months later, your customer is still in the middle of the experience you gave them.

I trained at ISIPCA in Versailles and everything we make is built for Indian lives - car diffusers that survive a Mumbai summer, reed diffusers that hold through the monsoon, alcohol-free formulas safe to gift across every customer profile. If you run a dealership, a project, a hotel, a showroom or a team, message the bulk desk on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 - tell me the customer moment and the volumes, and I will help you design the programme myself. The business conversations are my favourite kind: one good gifting programme teaches me more about a category than a year of retail orders.

And a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali - so your customer gift quietly gives twice. That equation has always felt right to me.

About this guide: Written by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained founder and perfumer at SOSA Home & Body. Product recommendations reflect the SOSA range; the customer-gifting advice applies whatever your business finally buys.

Facts verified August 2026: Olfactory memory research shows scent-linked memories are unusually durable and emotionally vivid, which is why a used-daily fragrance gift sustains brand association in a way consumable or novelty gifts do not; customer-experience research consistently finds that peak moments (delivery, possession, checkout) disproportionately shape how the whole purchase is remembered. Fragrance preference is personal: volume gifting programmes should default to gentle fresh, green and lightly floral registers, and to space formats (diffusers, reeds, car fragrance) rather than skin perfume. SOSA range: Hotel Collection ultrasonic fragrance from Rs 299; car perfumes from Rs 449 (spray and hanging, alcohol-free); attars Nawaab, Ameeri, Mastani and Adaa from Rs 379 (3ml/6ml/12ml, alcohol-free); Attar Trio from Rs 1,055; perfumes from Rs 499; reed diffusers from Rs 749; Boond Rs 799, Sukoon Rs 1,799 and Megh Rs 3,499 ultrasonic diffusers; SOSA Safar waterless car and travel diffuser Rs 3,999 (rechargeable, three hotel-inspired scents included); SOSA Vaayu waterless scent machine Rs 11,999 (~1000m³, app + timer).
