✓ Waterless, so the machine adds no moisture to the room and leaves no residue on surfaces✓ We size on carpet area and air path, never on the value of the stock in the cases✓ Made in India · independent, not affiliated with any hotel · a portion funds girl-child education

This question arrives with its own answer already half-written: if a single piece in the case is worth more than the machine forty times over, surely the machine is obvious. It is obvious - but not for the reason the arithmetic implies, and the difference between those two things is worth ten minutes of your time.
Quick answers — read this first
Does store fragrance make sense when the stock is this valuable? It makes sense the way good lighting or a well-spaced case makes sense - as part of a room that has been decided. What the value of your stock changes is the size of the decision, not the size of the effect. A machine at ₹11,999 against a case holding several lakh of merchandise is a rounding error on your fit-out, which is a genuine reason it is easy to say yes to. It is not evidence that it earns anything, and I would rather you bought it knowing that.
Is there an argument that one extra sale covers the cost? There is, and it is the argument I refuse to make. It works only by assuming the extra sale, which is the exact thing nobody can demonstrate. Anybody can build a spreadsheet where a ₹11,999 machine is recovered by one additional watch a year; the spreadsheet has smuggled in the conclusion. No one can promise you that ambient scent moves footfall, dwell, conversion or spend, and a supplier who hands you a figure is selling you something rather than telling you something.
So what should I actually spend? Whatever your floor plan says, which has nothing to do with your average ticket. Under about 750 sq ft, one SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899, and a Vaayu would be the wrong buy however expensive the watches are. From roughly 1,500 sq ft, or once there is an entrance lobby and a private lounge to carry, one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999. Total hardware spend: one machine.
The short answer
Short answer: it makes sense as part of a coherent room, and the value of your stock is the wrong reason to decide it. High-value merchandise makes ₹11,999 an easy approval rather than a justified one, and the size of the machine is still set by carpet area - a Sukoon at ₹1,899 under about 750 sq ft, a Vaayu at ₹11,999 from roughly 1,500 sq ft.
The pick: one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) run low on a timer through trading hours where the boutique is 1,500 sq ft and up, or one SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) where it is a single trading room.
Next step: send your carpet area and ceiling height rather than your price points, and we will tell you which machine the room needs and where it should sit - Ask for a retail scenting plan.
The reason to separate these two things carefully is that the pitch you will receive next welds them together. A cheap decision and a profitable one are not the same decision, and only one of them is honest to claim.

My watches sell for lakhs - does investing in store fragrance actually make sense?
Yes, and I want to be careful about why, because the reason you are probably holding is the wrong one. Here is what high stock value genuinely does: it makes this an easy approval. A SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 sits somewhere below the cost of one display case, well below your lighting, and nowhere near a single piece in the window. Against a fit-out that ran into lakhs, it barely registers as a line. That is a real and legitimate observation, and it is the only thing the price of your merchandise tells you about this decision. What it does not tell you is that the spend returns anything. The moment somebody writes the sentence that begins "if it produces just one more sale a year", the argument has quietly assumed the extra sale, and the extra sale is precisely what nobody has shown me. I have run no research that would let me put a figure on it, I would not borrow anyone else's, and no one can promise you that ambient scent moves footfall, dwell time, conversion, spend or repeat visits - a supplier who offers you that figure is selling. Take the whole frame away and a better question appears. You have chosen the marble, the case spacing, the light temperature, the seating, the music, what your advisor says in the first ten seconds. If you have not chosen the air, it is the one element in the room that nobody decided, and in a store where a customer is being shown something that costs more than a car, an undecided element is conspicuous in a way people register without locating. Making the air agree with the rest is worth doing. It is the last five per cent, and it will not make an ordinary store feel luxurious - if the lighting is wrong or the sound floor is bare, fix those first and come back to this. There is one more thing the value of your stock does not change, and it catches people: the geometry. Expensive watches in a 500 sq ft room are still 500 sq ft of air, and the honest buy there is one SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899 - a Vaayu rated to 1000m³ would be overshooting at its lowest setting. From about 1,500 sq ft, or once there is an entrance lobby and a private lounge on the same air path, the Vaayu is right, and it earns its place on control, distribution, uptime and the fact that it is waterless - it adds no moisture to the room and leaves no residue on surfaces. That is a statement about the machine and not a claim about your merchandise; whether room conditions matter to a particular piece is a question for the brands you carry and their watchmakers, and I will not answer it in either direction. Fragrance is a presentation decision here, never a way to cover another smell. Ask for a retail scenting plan and send the carpet area, not the price list.
High stock value makes ₹11,999 easy to approve; it does not make it justified, and those are different claims. Size the machine on carpet area - ₹1,899 under 750 sq ft, ₹11,999 from about 1,500 - and let nobody sell you a percentage.
For a boutique past about 1,500 sq ft the machine is one SOSA Vaayu - waterless, rated to 1000m³, under 38dB, with app timers and a key-lock. ₹11,999, one unit, and that is the whole hardware line. Under 750 sq ft, buy the Sukoon at ₹1,899 instead - the watches being expensive does not enlarge the room.
The machine, sized by the room and not by the stock
The value of what you sell has no vote in this part of the decision. Carpet area, ceiling height and how many separate bodies of air the store contains decide it, and there are only two sensible answers.
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft. 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill, Bluetooth app with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, under 38dB, 5W, auto-stop and key-lock. Freestanding or wall and HVAC mountable, which is how an entrance and a lounge share the showroom's air.
Ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering roughly 270-320 sq ft, supplied with three 15ml fragrances. A single trading room of this size is finished at ₹1,899, and putting a machine rated for four times the air into it would be a purchase made on ambition rather than on the floor plan.
1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill, Bluetooth app and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, under 38dB, 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mount, auto-stop and key-lock. CE, RoHS and SGS certified. Made in India. Cold-air refill oil is not currently sold separately - the machine ships with 400ml and continuity of supply should be confirmed with SOSA before you plan around it.
Three things high stock value does and does not change
Read these in order. The first is true, the second is the trap, and the third is the one that costs people money in the wrong direction.
1
Accept the easy part honestly
Against a lakh-value case, ₹11,999 is a small line and it is fair to say so
There is nothing dishonest about noticing that the machine costs a fraction of one piece in your window. It means the decision does not need a business case, a committee or a pilot store; it needs a floor plan. That is genuinely different from most retail categories, where a scenting spend has to be argued for. Use that ease to decide quickly, and do not let it be recycled as evidence. A cheap decision and a profitable one are separate claims about the world, and only the first of them is something I can stand behind. The rest of the decision is exactly the same as it would be for a store selling something worth a tenth as much.
Tip: If a supplier's proposal opens with your average ticket rather than your carpet area, read it more slowly.
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
The spreadsheet that recovers the machine has assumed the sale it needs
The pitch practically writes itself: your average piece is worth several lakh, the machine is ₹11,999, therefore one additional sale in a year returns it many times over. Every step of that is arithmetic except the first, which is a claim - and it is the claim nobody can support. SOSA has run no research that would let me put a number on it and I will not borrow somebody else's, because there is no honest way to separate ambient scent from the lighting, the seating, the case glass, the price and the person who greeted the customer. If a quotation arrives with a percentage attached, the percentage is marketing rather than measurement.
Tip: Ask any supplier where their figure came from and who ran it. The answer is the test.
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
Expensive watches in a small room are still a small room
The most common way this question goes wrong is a boutique of 450 sq ft buying the biggest machine in the catalogue because the stock is valuable and the owner does not want to look as though they economised. The air does not know what the watches cost. A single trading room under about 750 sq ft is a Sukoon at ₹1,899, and a Vaayu would spend its life at its lowest setting still doing more than the room asked for. Save the difference and put it into your lighting, which is where high-value retail usually has more to gain.
One Sukoon ₹1,899, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
The price of what sits in your cases decides how easily this purchase is approved and nothing whatever about what the purchase does.
Those two ideas look identical on a quotation and they are not, which is why the pitch always puts them in the same sentence.
A small line against a large fit-out: SOSA Vaayu, waterless, rated to 1000m³, 400ml running 90+ days a fill. ₹11,999 for one unit, which is the entire hardware spend for most boutiques.
The answer when the room is small: SOSA Sukoon covers roughly 270-320 sq ft and ships with three 15ml fragrances. ₹1,899, and the value of the stock does not change it.
A machine that costs less than a strap is very easy to say yes to. Easy and justified are different words, and I would rather you knew which one you were using.

Why the dull features matter in a high-value room
Waterless, quiet, locked - and sized by the floor plan
Two machines answer this question for almost every watch boutique in the country, and which one is yours is decided by the floor plan alone. Cold-air refill oil is not currently sold separately, so the 400ml supplied runs 90+ days a fill and continuity of supply should be confirmed with SOSA before you commit to a programme; bulk or corporate pricing, GST and corporate invoicing, AMC, warranty terms, installation, minimum order quantities and multi-site rollout support are likewise not published and should be confirmed with us directly. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Buy on the floor plan and approve on the fit-out budget, in that order. Ambient scent here is a presentation decision like lighting, seating or case layout; it is never used to cover or neutralise another smell, and where a store has a fit-out, carpet or corridor-ingress problem the honest answer is to fix that and spend nothing on fragrance. And plainly: no one can promise that ambient scent moves footfall, dwell, conversion or spend, so treat any figure in a proposal as a sales device. Ask for a retail scenting plan before you spend anything.

A note from Sonal
The version of this that reaches me most often is generous and slightly impatient: our watches start at several lakh, we are not going to argue about twelve thousand rupees, just tell me what to buy. I like that email, and I still slow it down, because the same sentence usually contains an assumption I cannot let stand - that because the spend is trivial next to the stock, the return must be there somewhere. The spend being trivial is the only part of that I can confirm.
What I can tell you is what happens in a room where the air was not decided. Everything else in a luxury watch boutique has been chosen deliberately - the case spacing, the light temperature, the weight of the tray, the pause before the strap is offered. The air is usually the exception, and a customer standing at a case for forty minutes registers the exception without being able to name it. Choosing the air closes that gap. It is the last five per cent, it will not rescue a store that has bigger problems, and it does not become more powerful because the merchandise is expensive.
So the practical answer. Under 750 sq ft, buy a Sukoon at ₹1,899 and stop; the watches being dear does not make the room bigger. From about 1,500 sq ft, one Vaayu at ₹11,999, run low, on a timer, behind a key-lock. No bulk pricing, AMC, warranty schedule or installation programme is published, so ask us rather than assume, and ask about refill continuity before you build a plan around it. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
My watches sell for lakhs - does investing in store fragrance actually make sense?
It makes sense as a presentation decision, in the same category as lighting and case spacing. What the high value of your stock changes is how easy the purchase is to approve: a Vaayu at Rs 11,999 is a small line against a fit-out that ran into lakhs. It does not change what the fragrance does, and it does not change the size of machine your floor plan needs. Under about 750 sq ft the honest buy is still a Sukoon at Rs 1,899.
Will store fragrance help me sell more high-value watches?
No one can promise that and I will not. SOSA has run no research that would support a figure, and there is no honest way to separate ambient scent from the lighting, the seating, the case glass and the person who greeted the customer. Any proposal that recovers the machine cost through one extra sale a year has assumed the extra sale, which is the only part that matters. A supplier quoting you a percentage is selling.
Is a Rs 11,999 machine too cheap for a boutique at this level?
No - price signalling works differently for equipment than for merchandise, and nobody sees the machine. The Vaayu is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000 cubic metres with app timers, adjustable intensity, a key-lock and a 400ml tank running 90 or more days a fill, and it will sit behind a plinth or on a wall bracket where no customer looks. Spend the difference on lighting, which customers do see.
Does an ambient fragrance affect the watches or straps on display?
That is a question for the brands you carry and their watchmakers, and I will not make a claim in either direction about what any ambient product does to merchandise. What I can tell you is factual and about the machine: the Vaayu is waterless, so it adds no moisture to the room and leaves no residue on surfaces, which is why it suits a room holding stock better than a water-based unit does.
Does SOSA offer bulk pricing or corporate invoicing for a retailer at this level?
Those are not published services at present, so please ask rather than assume. Bulk or corporate pricing, GST and corporate invoicing arrangements, annual maintenance contracts, warranty terms, installation, minimum order quantities and multi-site rollout support are all unpublished. Cold-air refill oil is also not currently sold as a separate line, so the 400ml in the box is the supply today and continuity should be confirmed with SOSA in writing.
Control on a floor with many hands: Key-lock and 1h/4h/8h/24h app timers hold one decision in place through trading hours. ₹11,999.
Approve it on the fit-out budget, size it on the floor plan

Facts verified 5 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with adjustable intensity, a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days a fill depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, operation under 38dB at 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification, which are electrical and compliance marks and not medical approvals. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment. The SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) is an ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering roughly 270-320 sq ft and is supplied with three 15ml fragrances; the water-based Hotel Collection (₹299 / ₹999 / ₹1,799) is an ultrasonic fragrance and is not a refill for a waterless cold-air machine. SOSA reed diffusers are alcohol-free and phthalate-free, with 50ml lasting about 6-8 weeks and 130ml about 14-18 weeks. Cold-air refill oil for the Vaayu is not currently sold separately - the machine ships with 400ml included and further refills should be confirmed with SOSA. Warranty, annual maintenance, installation and bulk terms are not published and should be confirmed before ordering. Ambient scent is an interior and hospitality decision: it makes no clinical, therapeutic or wellbeing claim, it works alongside proper ventilation, cleaning and infection control and is never a substitute for any of them, it is never used to mask another smell, and no claim is made that fragrance influences a patient's decision or any commercial outcome. Clinical areas including procedure, post-procedure and photography rooms are left unscented, and the treating clinician's judgement overrides any scenting plan in their own room. The hotel-inspired scents are SOSA's own original interpretations; SOSA is an independent brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel named for reference.
