Height is the term everybody drops, partly because nobody quotes it and partly because it feels like a detail. At 720 square feet it is not a detail, and it explains something about the product page as well as about your building.

Run it and see. Seven hundred and twenty square feet is 66.9 square metres, so every additional metre of ceiling adds 66.9 cubic metres of air to dose. At 3 metres you have 201. At 4 metres, 268. At 4.2, 281. That single metre is worth more air than an entire 200 sq ft reception at normal height. It is also the term most likely to be wrong, because owners quote the height of the shell rather than of the finished room, or quote the tall lobby for the whole floor. Measure to the underside of whatever is actually there: a false ceiling grid counts, even though there is a void above it, because the void is not air the client stands in.
Tip: Write the ceiling height in the corner of your floor plan in pen. It is the one number that never gets recorded and always gets argued about.
Headroom in the coverage volume is what absorbs an uncertain ceiling. The Vaayu's 1000m³ leaves room to be wrong by a metre without changing the purchase.

Dimension two
Why the machine is quoted as a range and not a number
The Vaayu is rated at 1000 cubic metres and described as covering about 2,000 to 3,000 square feet, and that spread is not caution or marketing hedging. It is the same arithmetic read backwards. Three thousand square feet is 278.7 square metres, and 1000 divided by 278.7 is 3.59 - so the 3,000 figure assumes a ceiling of roughly 3.6 metres. Two thousand square feet is 185.8 square metres, and 1000 divided by 185.8 is 5.38 - so the 2,000 figure assumes roughly 5.4 metres. One machine, one cubic volume, two very different rooms. Which end of that published range applies to you is decided by your tape measure, and under a normal fitted 3 metre ceiling the machine actually holds rather more floor than the conservative end suggests.
The cubic figure is the one to trust. Hold your own number against the 1000m³ on the Vaayu product page rather than against the square-foot translation.

Dimension three
A double-height lobby doses mostly empty air
Tall receptions are the reason two centres with the same plan behave differently, and the mechanism is not mysterious. A 300 sq ft entrance at 5.5 metres holds 300 × 5.5 × 0.0929, about 153 cubic metres, and all of it has to carry the same concentration before the room reads as anything at all. Most of that volume sits above head height, where warmer air collects and nobody is breathing. So the same source in the same footprint reads weaker in the tall room, and the temptation is to raise the output, which fills the upper third faster than the part anyone occupies. The correction is to mount the source higher, nearer where air is actually moved, and to accept that a double-height space is a more expensive room to scent.
Tip: If your lobby is double height, calculate it separately from the rest of the zone and add the two figures. Averaging a ceiling across a floor plan is where most bad numbers come from.

I ask for the ceiling height on every enquiry and I get it about one time in five. People know their floor area to the square foot because they pay rent on it. Nobody pays rent on air, so nobody has measured the one dimension that a diffuser cares about most. At three hundred square feet that ignorance is harmless. At seven hundred and twenty it is the difference between two hundred cubic metres and two hundred and eighty, which is the difference between a machine running quietly and a machine working hard.
The other thing I try to explain at this size is why our own coverage figure is written as a range. A thousand cubic metres is a thousand cubic metres. Translating it into square feet requires assuming a ceiling, and two reasonable assumptions give you two thousand and three thousand. That is not us hedging. It is the honest consequence of quoting a cubic machine in a square unit, and every manufacturer in this category has the same problem whether they admit it or not.
So at fifteen hundred leased square feet I will usually recommend the machine, and I will still ask for the height first. How do I measure ceiling height for a scenting calculation?
To the underside of whatever is actually above the room. A suspended grid ceiling is the ceiling, even though there is a void and ductwork above it, because that void is not air a client stands in. If the slab is exposed, measure to the slab. If beams or services hang below the slab, measure to the general soffit rather than to the lowest pipe, and note anywhere the height changes.
Why is the Vaayu quoted at 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft rather than one figure?
Because it is rated in cubic metres and square feet have no height in them. A thousand cubic metres spread over 3,000 sq ft implies a ceiling of about 3.6 metres, and over 2,000 sq ft it implies about 5.4. Both descriptions are of the same machine. Work in cubic metres and the range collapses into a single number you can check.
Does a double-height reception need a second machine?
No. It needs the volume calculated properly and the single source mounted higher, near where air is actually being moved. A second unit in the same connected space produces two competing gradients rather than more coverage, and the tall part of the room stays the tall part of the room either way.
What if my 1,500 sq ft centre is mostly treatment cabins?
Then you are not at this rung. Eight or nine cabins can take 900 square feet out of the plan, leaving perhaps 400 sq ft scented, which is around 112 cubic metres at 3 metres and a Sukoon at ₹1,899 or a reed. The lease number is the same and the specification is completely different, which is the whole argument of this family.
Is a mezzanine part of the scented volume?
If it is open to the room below, yes, and it is usually the quiet end. Calculate the mezzanine floor area at its own headroom and add it to the ground-level figure. If it is closed off behind a door, it is a separate volume and it either gets nothing or gets its own plan, depending on whether clients sit up there.
